1TRANSPORT OF THE SUSPENDED SEDIMENT IN THE CHANGJIANG ESTUARY显示文摘The Changjiang River is characterized by the enormous volume of runoff and the great amount of sediment load with remarkable seasonal variation. The annual runoff sometimes is respondent to the amount of sediment load, and sometimes not. The amount of monthly sediment load after the month of the maximum runoff is larger than those before the month. The sediment concentration and net quantity of sediment transport in the vicinity of the river mouth varies greatly in time between the ebb and flood, spring and neap, and dry seasons and flood seasons. The three bifurcations also have differences in concentration and net quantity in space. Even in the same bifurcation they have differences in and out of the sand bar. At present, the North Channel is the main passage for water and sediment load emptying into the sea from the Changjiang River. More than 50 percent of the sediments from the river basin are deposited nearby the South Branch entrance and the main depositional area is situated in subaqueous delta off the South Channel. 3The Bedload Movement in the Changjiang Estuary显示文摘- Sandwaves in the Changjiang estuary were measured with a shallow sediment profiler and an echosounder from 1978 to 1988. The data, together with grain size and bedform of sediment indicates that the bedload movement by rolling and saltation is of great significance to sediment transport and is the principal factor responsible for sandwave and sandbody development in the estuary. The sandwaves were found well-developed, which is related to the tidal range and the velocity of ebb current. However, the further growth is restricted by strong flood current prevailing in the estuary. Because of the significant bedload, the sandbodies shift obviously and frequently, and sometimes the exchange of position occurs between the sandbodies and tidal channels. 4The high-resolution climate recorded in the δ^(18)O of Porites lutea from the Nansha Islands of China显示文摘A Porites lutea core from Yongshu Reef of Nansha Islands covering 50 years growth history was ana-ly/ed for oxygen isotopic composition with monthly and seasonally resolution. The calibration of the δ18O with the instrumental temperature indicated that the coral δ18O is a good indicator for sea surface temperature (SST) and air temperature (t). It can be used to reconstruct the SST and air temperature of the Yongshu Reef sea area. In addition, the coral δ18O provides signatures for the intensity of the East Asia monsoon and it is a record for the activities of El Nino events. With the calibrated SST and air temperature formulas, the most recent fifty years SST and air temperature were reconstructed based on the coral δ18O, thus back up the understanding of the climate of Nansha Islands to 1950. far beyond the limit of the instrumental recording since September 1988. 5THREE DIMENSIONAL MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF SEDIMENT TRANSPORT IN ESTUARINE REGIONS-A CASE STUDY OF THE HAIHE RIVER MOUTH显示文摘A 3-D numerical model for simulating tidal flow and sediment transport in the estuarine regions is presented in this paper. The model adopts -coordinate system and carries out -coordinate transformation to the basic equations, which ensure that all horizontal area has equal numbers of calculation points in vertical direction, this method provides higher distinguishable rate to the flow and sediment transport. Under the -coordinate system, the Galerkin finite-element method is applied for horizontal domain by using a new specially interpolating shape functions, while a finite difference approximation is employed over depth. The model can be used even in the situations with a considerable variety in the water depth in the computational domain. The model is verified by a test for which analytical solutions are available and then applied to simulate the tidal current and sediment transport of the Haihe River Mouth. A modeling system of sediment transport is established for applying to muddy estuary of North China. 7Amino-functionalized porous PDVB with high adsorption and regeneration performance for fluoride removal from water显示文摘Excessive fluoride anions in drinking water are toxic to the health of human beings.In this article,an effective fluoride removal adsorbent on the basis of amino-functionalized porous polydivinylbenzene(PDVB)was prepared through low cost processes,which included solvothermal preparation of porous PDVB and subsequent surface amino-functionalization.The obtained amino-functionalized porous PDVB(A-PDVB)has high surface area of 443 m2 g1 and high adsorption capacity towards fluoride anion up to 105.9 mg g1.Considering adsorbents surface area,the adsorption capacity per unit surface area of A-PDVB is 0.24 mg m2 which is more than 4 times of porous PDVB(0.058 mg m2).The enhanced adsorption performance of A-PDVB was due to amino groups electrostatic interaction coupled with hydrogen bond binding with fluoride anions.In addition,the aminofunctionalized porous PDVB could be regenerated in high efficiency under alkaline conditions.This work not only exhibits the possibility of A-PDVB for application as an environment-friendly adsorbent for fluoride removal but also gives an insight into understanding mechanism of the fluoride anions adsorption onto aminofunctionalized porous PDVB.Yuanyuan Huang Xianbiao Wang Yongfei Xu Shaojie Feng Jin Liu Huanting Wang 2021Green Chemical Engineering2021,2,2:4
8Effect of oxygen plasma treatment on the nanofiltration performance of reduced graphene oxide/cellulose nanofiber composite membranes显示文摘Graphene based nanosheets have been widely used as building blocks for fabrication of superior separation membrane for water processing.In particular,membranes made of reduced graphene oxide(rGO)show better stability compared with graphene oxide(GO).However,densely stacked of rGO often results in low water flux.In this study,cellulose nanofibers(CNFs)were incorporated into the rGO laminates by vacuum filtration of dilute GO/CNF solution and thermal reduction at 150C for 1.5 h.The resulting rGO/CNF membrane was treated with oxygen plasma for 1–4 min to create nanopores on the membrane surface for the purpose of enhancing nano-filtration performance.The results showed that the optimum membrane performance was obtained by using the equal amount of GO(31.83 mg m^(-2))and CNFs accompanied by 3 min of plasma treatment,exhibiting a pure water permeance of 37.23.9 L m^(-2)h^(-1)bar^(-1)maintaining a rejection above 90%for Acid Fuchsin(1.2×1.1 nm),Rose Bengal(1.5×1.2 nm)and Brilliant Blue(2.2×1.7 nm).Shabin Mohammed Hanaa MHegab Ranwen Ou Shasha Liu Hongyu Ma Xiaofang Chen Tam Sridhar Huanting Wang 2021Green Chemical Engineering2021,2,1:3
9Distribution and fluxes of suspended sediments in the offshore waters of the Changjiang (Yangtze) Estuary显示文摘The offshore waters of the Changjiang Estuary are the transitional areas where river-supplied wa-ter and sediment are transported to the sea, and material exchanges occur with the neighbored Hangzhou Bay and the Jiangsu waters. Field observations of currents and sediment properties were conducted to study temporal and spatial distributions of suspended sediments under various dynamical conditions. The high sediment concentrations were found to occur in the western and southern waters of the offshore, and the low concentrations occurred in the eastern and northern waters. This pattern of the suspended sediment concentration (SSC) distribution is obviously influenced by the runoff and tidal current. The significant difference of along-estuary SSC distribution indicates that the SSC is reduced gradually from the west to the east, and that in the spring tide is obviously higher than in the neap tide. The methods of mechanism analysis and equal-area grids were used to calculate the suspended sediment fluxes at the typical cross sections. It was found that 44 percent of total suspended sediments from the Changjiang River were deposited in the submarine delta, and more than 27 percent of sediments were transported southernly into the Hangzhou Bay, and only 9 percent of sediments was supplied and exchanged with the northern Jiangsu waters, and about 20 percent of sediments was delivered offshore to the sea.WAN Xinning LI Jiufa SHEN Huanting 2009Acta Oceanologica Sinica2009,28,4:3
10Characteristics and generation mechanism of turbidity maximum in the Changjiang Estuary显示文摘Sediment convergence and resuspension are the two major mechanisms in forming turbidity maximum (TM) in the Changjiang Estuary. Sediment convergence is mainly controlled by the interaction between runoff and tidal current, the mixing of freshwater and salt water, the former forming tidal TM, whereas the latter forming brackish TM. 12Dimethoxymethane production via CO_(2)hydrogenation in methanol over novel Ru based hierarchical BEA显示文摘Dimethoxymethane(DMM),a diesel blend fuel,is being researched with high interest recently due to its unique fuel properties.It is commercially produced via a two step-process of methanol oxidation to make formaldehyde,followed by its condensation with methanol.This study presents a one-pot method of DMM synthesis from methanol mediated carbon dioxide hydrogenation over novel heterogeneous catalysts.The effect of catalyst pore structure was investigated by synthesizing 3 wt%Ru over novel hierarchical zeolite beta(HBEASX)and comparing against Ru doped commercial zeolite beta(CBEA)and desilicated hierarchical zeolite beta(HBZDS).The results showed that 3%Ru/HBEASX provided the best activity for DMM production due to its large average pore size.It also showed the decisive role of SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)molar ratio,with SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)=75 providing the highest DMM yield of 13.2 mmol/gcat.LMeOH with ca.100%selectivity.The activity of 3%Ru/HBEAS3 after 5 recycle steps demonstrated the reusability of this catalyst.Waqar Ahmad Fan Liang Chan Abhijit Shrotri Yayati Naresh Palai Huanting Wang Akshat Tanksale 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,3:2
13Chlorine-anion doping induced multi-factor optimization in perovskites for boosting intrinsic oxygen evolution显示文摘The oxygen evolution reaction(OER) plays a crucial role in many electrochemical energy technologies,and creating multiple beneficial factors for OER catalysis is desirable for achieving high catalytic efficiency.Here,we highlight a new halogen-chlorine(Cl)-anion doping strategy to boost the OER activity of perovskite oxides.As a proof-of-concept,proper Cl doping at the oxygen site of LaFeO3(LFO) perovskite can induce multiple favorable characteristics for catalyzing the OER,including rich oxygen vacancies,increased electrical conductivity and enhanced Fe-O covalency.Benefiting from these factors,the LaFeO2.9-δCl0.1(LFOCl) perovskite displays significant intrinsic activity enhancement by a factor of around three relative to its parent LFO.This work uncovers the effect of Cl-anion doping in perovskites on promoting OER performance and paves a new way to design highly efficient electrocatalysts.Yinlong Zhu Qian Lin Zhenbin Wang Dongchen Qi Yichun Yin Yu Liu Xiwang Zhang Zongping Shao Huanting Wang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,1:2
