| 1 | Hydrophobicity and carbonation treatment of earthen monuments in humid weather condition显示文摘Water stability of soil is crucial to the durability of earthen monuments,especially those located in the humid weather condition.This paper discusses the selection reason of materials(tung oil and quicklime) for earthen monument treatment,and then validates the applicability of these materials with tests of soil-water characteristic curve(SWCC),aggregate stability test(AST) and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The soil tested was sampled from Da Bao'en temple in Nanjing,Jiangsu province,China.The test results indicate that the carbonation reaction of quicklime offers a favorable environment for the formation of tung oil film.Meanwhile,the regulatory function of tung oil restricts the crystallinity of calcium carbonate(CaCO3) and forms fine crystals.Soil treated with both of tung oil and quicklime has good water repellency and aggregate stability without obvious changing in aesthetic appearance.Hydrophobicity and carbonation treatment can be applied prospectively in the conservation of earthen monument located in humid weather condition. | LI Min ZHANG HuYuan | 2012 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,8: | 7 |
| 2 | Conservation of Jiaohe ancient earthen site in China显示文摘Earthen sites,which are mainly made of earth,are cultural heritages with historical,artistic and scientific values.Many extremely valuable earthen sites have been preserved in the arid areas in China.The earthen site of Jiaohe Ancient City is one of the earliest National Protected Important Cultural Heritage Sites.The Jiaohe Ancient City site exhibits all kinds of deteriorations,which can be found in the earthen sites in arid environments in China.Through a case study of the Jiaohe ancient earthen site,we present in this paper the comprehensive conservation technologies,including the mud bricklaying and reparation,wooden rod anchorage,crack grouting,surface potassium silicate(PS) penetration consolidation,and suspended steel beam ceiling,etc.Results of this case study showed that better conservation effects could be achieved by selecting proper PS penetration and crack grouting processes based on the deterioration characteristics of the earthen sites.The technology of mud bricklaying and reparation was also an effective method for preventing the earthen body from collapsing.Compared with traditional conservation technologies,the suspended steel beam ceiling technology could effectively reduce the negative impacts to the original state of the earthen site.As for unstable cliffs,a new method using composite anchor rod of bamboo and steel with massive loose earth was applied.Deformation monitoring and temporary supports were critical and indispensable measures for the safe of site conservation projects.Through years of monitoring and practical operation at the Jiaohe ancient earthen site,deterioration at the site has been effectively controlled. | Zuixiong Li Xudong Wang Manli Sun Wenwu Chen Qinglin Guo Huyuan Zhang | 2011 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2011,3,3: | 6 |

| 6 | Research on deformation mechanism of AZ31 magnesium alloy sheet with non-basal texture during uniaxial tension at room temperature:A visco-plastic self-consistent analysis显示文摘The relationship between activities of involved deformation mechanisms and the evolution of microstructure and texture during uniaxial tension of AZ31 magnesium alloy with a rare non-basal texture has been thoroughly investigated in the present study by means of electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD) measurement and visco-plastic self-consistent(VPSC) modeling. These results show that except basal slip and prismatic slip, {10■2} extension twin(ET) also plays a significant role during plastic deformation. With the increasing tilted angle between loading direction and rolling direction(RD) of sheet, the activity of {10■2} ET possesses a decreasing tendency and its role in plastic deformation changes from the one mainly sustaining plastic strain to the one mainly accommodating local strain between individual grains. When {10■2} ET serves as a carrier of plastic strain, it mainly results in the formation of basal texture component(c-axis//ND, normal direction). By comparison, when the role of {10■2} ET is to accommodate local strain, it mainly brings about the formation of prismatic texture component(c-axis//TD, transverse direction). At large plastic deformation, the competition between basal slip and pyramidal slip is responsible for the concentration of tilted basal poles towards ND within all deformed samples. The larger difference is between the activities of basal slip and pyramidal slip, the smaller separation is between these two tilted basal poles. Besides,VPSC modeling overesttmates volume fractions of {10■2} ET in samples with angle of 0 to 30° between loading direction and RD of sheet because interactions between twin variants are not included in VPSC modeling procedure at the present form. | 13 | Leachability of heavy metals from solidified sludge显示文摘Solidified sludge undergoes progressive depletion of the alkalinity materials under natural weathering condition and releases out of heavy metals. The leaching of heavy metals from solidified sewage sludge was studied by acid neutralization capacity (ANC) test and flow-through leaching test. The results of ANC test showed that heavy metals release at high concentration when the pH of extract lowers than 6. The disintegration of solidified sludge and the transformation of heavy metals are the main reasons for the resolubilisation of contaminants. Flow-through leaching test indicated that leaching of heavy metals from solidified sludge occurs in a slow way. A mathematical model has been developed to predict the stabilization time of heavy metals in solidified sludge. | 16 | Seasonal variation of airborne fungi of the Tiantishan Grottoes andWestern Xia Museum,Wuwei,China显示文摘In this study,a systematic survey of cultural airborne fungi was carried out in the occurrence environments of wall paintings that are preserved in the Tiantishan Grottoes and the Western Xia Museum,China.A bio-aerosol sampler was used for sampling in four seasons in 2016.Culture-dependent and-independent methods were taken to acquire airborne fungal concentration and purified strains;by the extraction of genomic DNA,amplification of fungal ITS rRNA gene region,sequencing,and phylogenetic analysis,thereafter the fungal community composition and distribution characteristics of different study sites were clarified.We disclosure the main environmental factors which may be responsible for dynamic changes of airborne fungi at the sampling sites.The concentration of cultural airborne fungi was in a range from 13 to 1,576 CFU/m^(3),no significant difference between the two sites at the Tiantishan Grottoes,with obvious characteristics of seasonal variation,in winter and spring were higher than in summer and autumn.Also,there was a significant difference in fungal concentration between the inside and outside of the Western Xia Museum,the outside of the museum was far more than the inside of the museum in the four seasons,particularly in the winter.Eight fungal genera were detected,including Cladosporium,Penicillium,Alternaria,and Filobasidium as the dominant groups.The airborne fungal community structures of the Tiantishan Grottoes show a distinct characteristic of seasonal variation and spatial distribution.Relative humidity,temperature and seasonal rainfall influence airborne fungal distribution.Some of the isolated strains have the potential to cause biodeterioration of ancient wall paintings.This study provides supporting information for the pre-warning conservation of cultural relics that are preserved at local sites and inside museums. | YuLong Duan FaSi Wu DongPeng He RuiHong Xu HuYuan Feng Tuo Chen GuangXiu Liu WanFu Wang | 2021 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2021,13,6: | 0 |
