| 2 | High-density circulating fluidized bed gasifier for advanced IGCC/IGFC-Advantages and challenges显示文摘Coal-fired Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle(IGCC)and Integrated coal Gasification Fuel-cell Combined cycle(IGFC)are being developed as high-efficiency electric power generation technology.However,the highest theoretical gross thermal efficiency of the conventional IGCC/IGFC is still below 52%.In order to obtain higher power generation efficiency,an advanced IGCC(A-IGCC)or advanced IGFC(A-IGFC)system making use of the exergy recuperation concept by recycling waste heat from gas turbine or fuel cells for steam gasification of coal and biomass was proposed in our laboratory.Corresponding to this system,a novel high-density triple-bed combined circulating fluidized bed(TBCFB)gasifier,composed of a downer pyrolyzer,a bubbling fluidized bed char gasifier,and a riser combustor,was proposed to replace traditional gasifiers such as the entrained flow bed gasifier.The new system is expected to more effectively utilize the waste heat from gas turbines or fuel cells and the heat produced by the combustion of the unreacted char in the riser combustor for pyrolysis and gasification of coal and biomass.In this short review,the advantages and future challenges in the development of high-density TBCFB gasifier are presented and discussed. | Guoqing Guan Chihiro Fushimi Atsushi Tsutsumi Masanori Ishizuka Satoru Matsuda Hiroyuki Hatano Yoshizo Suzuki | 2010 | Particuology2010，8，6： | 17 |

| 6 | Phosphorylation of alphaB-crystallin in epiretinal membrane of human proliferative diabetic retinopathy显示文摘AIM: To examine phosphorylation of alpha B-crystallin(p-αBC), a vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)chaperone, and immunohistochemically investigate relationship between p-αBC, VEGF and phosphorylated p38-mitogen-activated protein kinase(p-p38 MAPK) in the epiretinal membrane of human proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR).METHODS: Eleven epiretinal membranes of PDR surgically excised were included in this study. Two normal retinas were also collected from enucleation tissues due to choroidal melanoma. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections were processed for immunohistochemistry with anti-p-αBC, VEGF, CD31,and p-p38 MAPK antibodies.RESULTS: Immunoreactivity for p-αBC was observed in all of the epiretinal membranes examined, where phosphorylation on serine(Ser) 59 showed strongest immunoreactivity in over 70% of the membranes. The immunolocalization of p-αBC was detected in the CD31-positive endothelial cells, and co-localized with VEGF and p-p38 MAPK in PDR membranes. | 8 | Budd-Chiari syndrome: A case with a combination of hepatic vein and superior vena cava occlusion显示文摘We here report a recent, rare case of Budd-Chiari syndrome, associated with a combination of hepatic vein and superior vena cava occlusion. A young female, who had been ingood health, was admitted to our hospital because of massive ascites. The patient had used no oral contraceptives. Tests for coagulation disorders, hematological disorders, and antiphospholipid syndrome were all negative. BuddChiari syndrome was diagnosed by radiographic examination. The patient was suffering from a combination of hepatic vein and superior vena cava occlusion. In particular, the venous flow returned from the liver mainly through a right accessory hepatic vein, and stenosis was recognized at the orifice of this collateral vein into the vena cava.Subsequently, the patient underwent percutaneous balloon dilatation therapy for this stenosis. After this treatment, the massive ascites was gradually reduced, and she was discharged from our hospital. It has now been one year since discharge, and the patient has been doing well. If deteriorating liver function or intractable ascites occur again, a liver transplantation may be anticipated. | 9 | Topographical and hydrological effects on meso-scale vegetation in desert steppe, Mongolia显示文摘This study investigated the seasonal variations of the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) and its relationships with climatic variables and topography in a small-scale(20 km×20 km) area(i.e., Tsogt-Ovoo village) within the desert steppe zone of Mongolia using in-situ observed climate data and satellite remote sensing data. We found that the topography is very important for vegetation growth in the desert steppe although the summer precipitation is the constraining factor. The unexpectedly high NDVI(up to 0.56), as well as the high aboveground biomass, in the valley bottom was primarily resulted from the topography-modulated redistribution of overland flow after relatively heavy precipitation events during the growing season. This makes the valley bottoms in desert steppes not only reliable feeding resources for livestock but also heavens for wild lives.
