| 1 | Effect of Silver Content on Microstructure and Properties of Brass/steel Induction Brazing Joint Using Ag-Cu-Zn-Sn Filler Metal显示文摘The induction brazing of brass to steel using Ag-Cu-Zn-Sn filler metal was investigated in this study.The influence of Ag content on the microstructure and properties were analyzed by means of optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy and electron probe microanalysis.Defect free joint was achieved using Ag-Cu-Zn-Sn filler metal.The microstructure of the joint was mainly composed of Ag-based solid solution and Cu-based solid solution.The increase of Ag content and the cooling rate both led to the increase of the needle like eutectic structure.The tensile strength decreased with the increase of Ag content.The tensile strength at room temperature using Ag25CuZnSn filler metal reached 445 MPa.All fractures using Ag-Cu-Zn-Sn filler metal presented ductile characteristic. | J. | 3 | Effect of High Magnetic Field on Growth Behavior of Compound Layers during Reactive Diffusion between Solid Cu and Liquid Al显示文摘The effect of magnetic field on the growth behavior of compound layer was examined at the interface between the solid Cu and liquid Al during reactive diffusion. It was found that the thickness of compound layer was reduced by the high magnetic field. The growth activation energy in β, γ1 and ε2 layers under a high magnetic field was larger than those in non magnetic circumstances, the increment percentage being 4.8%, 13.3% and 5.5%, respectively. | B. | 4 | IN SITU OBSERVATION OF GROWTH BEHAVIOR AND MORPHOLOGY OF DELTA-FERRITE AS FUNCTION OF SOLIDIFICATION RATE IN AN AISI304 STAINLESS STEEL显示文摘It was presented the in situ observation of growth behavior and morphology of delta-ferrite as a function of solidification rate in an AISI304 stainless steel. The specimens have been solidified and observed using confocal scanning laser microscopy (CSLM). The δ-phase always appears like cells on the sample surface when critical supercooling occurs, during which the L→δ transformation starts. The solid-liquid (S-L) interface is found to be finger shaped and has no faceted shape. γ phase appears among δ grains due to partitioning of Ni into the melt during solidification, when solidification rate is higher. The mergence of observed δ cells is possible for the steel sample cooled at 7.5℃/min. The formation of dendrites can be observed on the free surface of the steel sample cooled at 150℃/min. The size of solidified delta grains decreases from 120 to 20-80μm, and the volume fraction of solidified austenite increases with increase in solidification rate from 7.5 to 150℃/min. | 5 | State of the Art on Micromilling of Materials,a Review显示文摘The trend towards miniaturization has increased dramatically over the last decade, especially within the fields concerned with bioengineering, microelectronics, and aerospace. Micromilling is among the principal manufacturing processes which have allowed the development of components possessing micrometric dimensions, being used to the manufacture of both forming tools and the final product. The aim of this work is to present the principal aspects related to this technology, with emphasis on the work material requirements, tool materials and geometry, cutting forces and temperature, quality of the finished product, process modelling and monitoring and machine tool requirements. It can be noticed that size effect possesses a relevant role with regard to the selection of both work material (grain size) and tooling (edge radius). Low forces and temperature are recorded during micromilling, however, the specific cutting force may reach high values because of the ploughing effect observed as the uncut chip thickness is reduced. | 9 | AUTOMATIC PATENT DOCUMFNT SUMMARIZATION FOR COLLABORATIVE KNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS AND SERVICES显示文摘Engineering and research teams often develop new products and technologies by referring to inventions described in patent databases.Efficient patent analysis builds R&D knowledge,reduces new product development time,increases market success,and reduces potential patent infringement. Thus,it is beneficial to automatically and systematically extract information from patent documents in order to improve knowledge sharing and collaboration among R&D team members.In this research, patents are summarized using a combined ontology based and TF-IDF concept clustering approach. The ontology captures the general knowledge and core meaning of patents in a given domain.Then, the proposed methodology extracts,clusters,and integrates the content of a patent to derive a summary and a cluster tree diagram of key terms.Patents from the International Patent Classification(IPC) codes B25C,B25D,B25F(categories for power hand tools)and B24B,C09G and H011(categories for chemical mechanical polishing)are used as case studies to evaluate the compression ratio,retention ratio,and classification accuracy of the summarization results.The evaluation uses statistics to represent the summary generation and its compression ratio,the ontology based keyword extraction retention ratio,and the summary classification accuracy.The results show that the ontology based approach yields about the same compression ratio as previous non-ontology based research but yields on average an 11%improvement for the retention ratio and a 14%improvement for classification accuracy. | Amy J.C. The provision of green products and services are the fast growing trend in global consumer markets. Therefore, introducing new products with environmental considerations becomes critical for global brand manufacturers. This research depicts an integrated and intelligent eco- and inno-product design methodology to support environmental friendly green product development. The methodology adopts approaches, such as life cycle assessment (LCA), quality function deploymnet for environement (QFDE), theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) and back-propagation network (BPN) to achieve eco- and inno-design objectives. LCA evaluates and compares the environmental impacts of production. QFDE transforms high-level concerns of environment into design requirements. When there are many historical QFDE data, the BPN prediction model is trained and deployed to automate the specifications of green design improvement. TRIZ is to support the creation of innovative product design ideas effectively and efficiently during the concept design stage. | 14 | Accuracy details in realistic CFD modeling of an industrial centrifugal pump in direct and reverse modes显示文摘Numerical computation of the flowfield inside a pump is herein used as a numerical laboratory, subject to the limitations of modeling assumptions and to experimental verification. A numerical computation of the flow inside a real industrial centrifugal pump is performed that includes a very sophisticated geometry. Conversely to other computations, in this test case no simplification of the geometry was introduced. Numerical computations are obtained using Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model. A detailed analysis of the turbulent flowstructure is performed for the design point and two off design conditions. Additional computations were performed in order to compare the numerical and experimental pump characteristics; these were obtained under normalized testing conditions. Further computations are presented for the pump working in reverse turbine mode (PAT). Detailed analyses of the flow allow a comparison of the internal flow losses when the pump is operating in direct and reverse mode. The results show that the billet of almost 100% equiaxed grains can be obtained by applying linear EMSat the maximum intensity of 1414A.H/z1/2, while the maximum electromagnetic force and the maximum velocity in the molten steel are 6386N.m-3 and 0.22m.s-1, respectively. It is presented that the pulsating electromagnetic force perpendicular to the movement of the molten steel, is an important factor of increasing the equiaxed zone ratio in the solidification structure, which further prevents the appearance of white band and internal defects. | H.L. The results show that the maximum electromagnetic flux density is found in front of slit; the electromagnetic flux density becomes large as coil current and slit number increase. In a certain frequency range, the electromagnetic flux density increases with increasing frequency; and the frequency range is different with changing of azimuthal position along inner wall of mold. The uniformity of electromagnetic field is effected mainly by frequency and mold structure parameters. Increasing slit number and adjusting slit arrangement position can improve the electromagnetic flux density and the uniformity of electromagnetic field.
