1Stability and self-adaption character of turbulence coherent structure in narrow-deep river bend显示文摘In a meandering river,a certain scale of turbulent vortex dominates the development of river morphology,making the river bend with s particular curvature.This kind of vortex is denoted as 'bend-forming vortex'.The coordinated relationship of bend-forming vortex and meandering river channel is then known as 'self-adaption feature' of rivers.With these two concepts,this paper investigated the stability and self-adaption character of coherent vortex in the U-shape river bend with a constant curvature.On the basis of fluid mechanics theory and in consideration of turbulent coherent vortex as disturbance,the growth rate and the wave number response range of coherent vortex in meandering rivers with different curvatures were calculated in this paper.Moreover,the responses of different scales of coherent turbulence structure to river bend parameters were analyzed to explain the mechanism of river bend maintenance.These methods could provide a theoretical basis for further investigation on river meandering.BAI YuChuan JI ZiQing XU HaiJue 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,11:5
2Classification of traditional Chinese medicine constitution based on facial features in color images显示文摘Objective:To explore the possible correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitution and facial features in color images and to improve the accuracy of automated constitution classification.Methods:Color images were taken of 5150 individuals of different professions.Automated face detection and key point positioning were performed on the collected images,which were then transformed into a standard size.The relationship between facial features and TCM constitution based on the red,green,blue(RGB)pixel and the local binary pattern(LBP)texture features was explored.Results:The overall accuracy rate and robustness of TCM constitution classification based on RGB features were low.Classification results of the phlegm-dampness,damp-heat,blood stasis,and balance constitutions achieved high accuracy rates.Classification accuracy rate using the LBP texture feature was higher than that of the RGB feature,with the best accuracy observed for the balance constitution.Conclusion:Application of computer image acquisition and processing of facial features may serve as an adjunct to the TCM diagnostic method of inspection.Jian Zhang Shujuan Hou Ji Wang Lingru Li Pin Li Junwen Han Haiqiang Yao Ranran Sun Ziqing Li Zhen Lei Qi Wang 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2016,3,3:5
3A type of dynamic mechanism of river hydraulic geometry显示文摘Large-scale structure of river flow is the main driving force for bed erosion-deposition and bank deformation.The structure shapes and retains a corresponding hydraulic geometry form.Therefore,the most stable flow structure is the probable natural river plane formation.Natural coordinate transformation and perturbation methods were adapted to deform the governing equations of sine-generated river basic flow and disturbance flow independently.The stability and retention of perturbation waves were analyzed in our model to explain why meandering rivers followed a certain type of flow path.Computation results showed that all types of perturbation waves in meandering rivers were most stable when the meandering wave number was about 0.39–0.41.We believe that this type of stable flow structure shaped a certain meandering river.The statistical average length-width ratios of Yalin,Habib and da Silva and Leopold and Wolman somewhat confirmed our most stable river meandering wave number.In some ways,meandering rivers always tend to diminish internal turbulence intensity.BAI YuChuan JI ZiQing ZHANG MingJin 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,4:1
4Aggregates of fluorescent gels assembled by interfacial dynamic bonds显示文摘Life,defined as the specific form of substance,is an integration of aggregates at various scales,ranging from single molecules to tissues.However,these building blocks of common aggregates are usually recognized as confining at the microscopic level,while there are few studies focusing on macroscopic building blocks for aggregates.Fluorescent gels,as the important macroscopic building blocks,are drawing researchers’attention on account of their extraordinary fluorescence as well as soft material properties.Inspired by nature,fluorescent gels can be aggregated through interfacial adhesion.According to the driving forces for interfacial adhesion,a series of aggregates of fluorescent gels(AFGs)was summarized,including H-bond,metal coordinations,host-guest interactions,hydrophobic interactions,electrostatic interactions,dynamic covalent bonds as well as multiple driving forces.These AFGs own dynamic assembled behaviors and rich stimuli responsiveness,which could be applied to information storage,sensing,biomedical systems,and so on.The authors anticipate this review can accelerate the development of aggregate science,especially based on macroscopic building blocks.Ziqing Hu Shaoyu Xu Hanwei Zhang Xiaofan Ji 2023Aggregate2023,4,2:0
5Brain circuits for retching-like behavior显示文摘Nausea and vomiting are important defensive responses to cope with pathogens and toxins that invade the body.The nucleus of the solitary tract(NTS)is important for initiating these responses.However,the molecular heterogeneities and cellular diversities of the NTS occlude a better understanding of these defensive responses.Here,we constructed the single-nucleus transcriptomic atlas of NTS cells and found multiple populations of NTS neurons that may be involved in these defensive responses.Among these,we identified Calbindin1-positive(Calb1^(+))NTS neurons that are molecularly distinct from Tac1^(+)neurons.These Calb1^(+)neurons are critical for nausea and retching induced by cereulide;an emetic toxin secreted by Bacillus Cereus.Strikingly,we found that cereulide can directly modulate vagal sensory neurons that innervate Calb1^(+)NTS neurons,a novel mechanism distinct from that for nausea and retching induced by Staphylococcal enterotoxin A.Together,our transcriptomic atlas of NTS neurons and the functional analyses revealed the neural mechanism for cereulide-induced retching-like behavior.These results demonstrate the molecular and cellular complexities in the brain that underlie defensive responses to the diversities of pathogens and toxins.Lifang Huo Zhimin Ye Meiling Liu Ziqing He Meizhu Huang Dapeng Li Qian Wu Qian Wang Xiaoqun Wang Peng Cao Ji Dong Congping Shang 2024National Science Review2024,11,1:0
6AIE gel exhibiting continuous gradient fluorescence based on a polar-responsive AIE-gen显示文摘Traditional multicolor fluorescent hydrogels are generated through the assembly of discrete fluorescent hydrogels,which is not a complete integration much distinct from living organisms.On the basis of aggregation-induced emission(AIE),a special solvent polar-responsive AIE molecule possessing a twisted intramolecular charge transfer(TICT)effect was noticed.By incorporating it into the gel network,an AIE gel that displays continuous gradient fluorescence was fabricated.First,hydrogel A containing the solvent polar-responsive AIE-gen was prepared to show orange fluorescence.After soaking in the organic solvents,the fluorescence color transition of hydrogel A ranging from orange to green occurred when being immersed in high-polarity organic solvents ascribed to the embedded AIE-gen owning TICT effect.Then,hydrogel A was successively lifted up from organic solvents.Due to the different immersion time of each section for the hydrogel,the polarity difference occurred.Then,the produced gel B showed continuous gradient fluorescence ranging from orange to green under the irradiation of UV light.Ziqing Hu Hanwei Zhang Hui Liu Jinsa Li Xiaofan Ji Ben Zhong Tang 2024SmartMat2024,5,2:0
7Near-zone Direct and Indirect Topographic Effects Based on the Rectangular Prism and Surface Element显示文摘Helmert’s second method of condensation is an effective method for terrain reduction in the geoid and quasi-geoid determinations. Condensing the masses outside the geoid to a surface layer on the geoid produces several forms of topographic effects: direct effect on gravity, secondary indirect effect on gravity and indirect effects on the (quasi-) geoid, respectively. To strike a balance between computation accuracy and numerical efficiency, the global integration region of topographic effects is usually divided into near zone and far zone. We focus on the computation of near-zone topographic effects, which are functions of actual topographic masses and condensed masses. Since there have already been mature formulas for gravitational attraction and potential of actual topographic masses using rectangular prism model, we put forward surface element model for condensed masses. Afterwards, the formulas for near-zone direct and indirect effects are obtained easily by combining the rectangular prism model and surface element model. To overcome the planar approximation errors involved with the new formulas for near-zone topographic effects, the Earth’s curvature can be taken into account. 8AIE interfacial supramolecular polymers显示文摘High monomer concentration is a requisite for engendering the aggregation-induced emssion(AIE)phenomenon as well as the formation of supramolecular polymers.Therefore,this is supposed to ensure the generation of AIE supramolecular polymers,wherein the monomer soluability takes effect.Nevertheless,parts of supramolecular monomers are considered as poessessing different soluability towards the same sovlent,through which the polymerzation process is thus hard to proceed.Interfacial polymerzation gets over the soluabilty restriction,providing a facile method for propelling the reaction of thesemonomers.Herein,we had prepared M1 containing tetraphenylethene(TPE)functionalized with two terpyridine derivatives,then making M1 dissolving in CHCl3 to give solutions.Cu^(2+)solutions were fabricated through dissolving CuCl_(2)into H2O.Towards mixing those solutions,AIE interfacial supramolecular polymers(AIEISPs)displaying green fluorescence were generated at the interface of two phases on the basis of metal-coordination between terpyridine and Cu^(2+).These AIEISPs were certificated to possess the stimuli-responsiveness,for which the excessive addition of tetrabutylammonium hydroxide would cause the structure destruction owing to the stronger bonding ability with Cu^(2+)than that of terpyridine.These fabricated AIEISPs had provided a new avenue to prepare AIE supramolecular polymers.Qingyun Li Ziqing Hu Xiaofan Ji 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,1:0
9Strategies and reaction systems for solardriven CO_(2) reduction by water显示文摘Solar driven CO_(2) conversion into high-value-added chemicals and energy-rich fuels is one of the promising strategies to tackle global warming and to address the energy-supply crisis.Even though enormous effort has been devoted to exploring all sorts of homogeneous and heterogeneous photocatalysts,the current efficiency and more importantly selectivity to valuable chemicals are still rather moderate,thus it is desired to develop high-efficiency photocatalytic system toward CO_(2) reduction with excellent selectivity.In this review,fundamental aspects of photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction by pure water,the reaction systems and the reliable method for detection of the products are firstly described.Thereafter the recent advances of the main strategy for improving the photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction from the perspective of promoting the CO_(2) adsorption and activation,accelerating the kinetics of water oxidation,and modulating charge separation are overviewed.The prospects and challenges on precise designing heterogeneous catalysts for CO_(2) photoreduction are proposed at the end,indicating the significance for the further development of photocatalytic systems with high CO_(2) conversion efficiency and product selectivity.Ji Bian Ziqing Zhang Ye Liu Enqi Chen Junwang Tang Liqiang Jing 2022Carbon Neutrality2022,1,1:0
