1Effects of single basal application of coated compound fertilizer on yield and nitrogen use efficiency in double-cropped rice显示文摘Fertilizer plays an important role in increasing rice yield. More than half of all fertilizer applied to the field is not taken up, resulting in environmental damage and substantial economic losses. To address these concerns, a low-cost, coated compound fertilizer named 'Xiang Nong Da'(XND), requiring only a single basal application, was studied. A two-year field experiment was conducted to test the effects of XND application on rice yield and nitrogen fertilizer use efficiency. An ordinary uncoated compound fertilizer(UNCF), with 20% more nutrients and split application was selected as the control. The yield of XND-treated rice was only 3.1% lower than that of the control, an insignificant difference. There were no significant differences between N use efficiency indices of the two fertilizer treatments except for N partial factor productivity(PFP_N). PFP_Nof XND treatment was 19.7%–23.2% higher than the control, a significant difference. 4Biopolymer-nanotube nerve guidance conduit drug delivery for peripheral nerve regeneration:In vivo structural and functional assessment显示文摘Peripheral nerve injuries account for roughly 3%of all trauma patients with over 900,000 repair procedures annually in the US.Of all extremity peripheral nerve injuries,51%require nerve repair with a transected gap.The current gold-standard treatment for peripheral nerve injuries,autograft repair,has several shortcomings.Engineered constructs are currently only suitable for short gaps or small diameter nerves.Here,we investigate novel nerve guidance conduits with aligned microchannel porosity that deliver sustained-release of neurogenic 4-aminopyridine(4-AP)for peripheral nerve regeneration in a critical-size(15 mm)rat sciatic nerve transection model.The results of functional walking track analysis,morphometric evaluations of myelin development,and histological assessments of various markers confirmed the equivalency of our drug-conduit with autograft controls.Repaired nerves showed formation of thick myelin,presence of S100 and neurofilament markers,and promising functional recovery.The conduit’s aligned microchannel architecture may play a vital role in physically guiding axons for distal target reinnervation,while the sustained release of 4-AP may increase nerve conduction,and in turn synaptic neurotransmitter release and upregulation of critical Schwann cell neurotrophic factors.Overall,our nerve construct design facilitates efficient and efficacious peripheral nerve regeneration via a drug delivery system that is feasible for clinical applications.Ohan S.Manoukian Swetha Rudraiah Michael R.Arul Jenna M.Bartley Jiana T.Baker Xiaojun Yu Sangamesh G.Kumbar 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,9:2
5Critical Yield Factors for Achieving High Grain Yield in Early-Season Rice Grown under Mechanical Transplanting Conditions显示文摘Double-season rice cropping systems occupy a large portion of the rice production area in southern China.Because the problem of insufficient labor,mechanical transplanting(in contrast to the manual transplanting)was become more attractive in double-season rice system.However,the decisive yield factors which resulting in high grain yield of early-season rice are unclear under mechanical-transplanted conditions.In present study,the field experiments were conducted in the early season in 2017 and repeated in 2018 in Santang Town,Hunan Province,China.Ten early season rice cultivars(Zhuliangyou 819,Lingliangyou 268,Lingliangyou 104,Luliangyou 996,Xiangzaoxian 24,Xiangzaoxian 32,Xiangzaoxian 45,Xiangzaoxian 42,Zhongjiazao 17,and Zhongzao 39)were used as materials in this study.The difference in grain yield and closely-related agronomic and physiological traits of ten tested cultivars were compared.The range of yields(t ha^(–1) at 86%dry matter)in 2017 was 6.2 to 8.7(mean 7.8)and in 2018 was 6.5 to 8.4(mean 7.8).Grain weight and pre-heading biomass accumulation had potent significant positive correlations with the grain yield.The greater pre-heading biomass accumulation was major attributed to higher apparent radiation use efficiency.Our results suggested that early-season rice cultivars to achieve the high grain yield in mechanical-transplanted conditions depends on apparent radiation use efficiency in the pre-heading period and higher grain weight.Jiana Chen Ruichun Zhang Fangbo Cao Xiaohong Yin Tianfeng Liang Min Huang Yingbin Zou 2020Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,4:2
6Genome-wide identi?cation of loci affecting seed glucosinolate contents in Brassica napus L.显示文摘Glucosinolates are amino acid-derived secondary metabolites that act as chemical defense agents against pests.However,the presence of high levels of glucosinolates severely diminishes the nutritional value of seed meals made from rapeseed(Brassica napus L.).To identify the loci affecting seed glucosinolate cont ent(SGC),we con ducted genome-wide resequencing in a population of 307 diverse B.napus accessions from the three B.napus ecotype groups,namely,spring,winter,and semi-winter.These resequencing data were used for a genome-wide association study(GWAS)to identify the loci affecting SGC.In the three ecotype groups,four comm on and four ecotype-specific haplotype blocks(HBs)were significantly associated with SGC.To identify candidate genes controlling SGC,transcriptome analysis was carried out in 36 accessions showing extreme SGC values.Analyses of haplotypes,genomic variation,and candidate gene expression pointed to five and three candidate genes in the common and spring group-specific HBs,respectively.Our expression analyses dem on strated that additive effects of the three candidate genes in the spring group-specific HB play important roles in the SGC of B.napus.Dayong Wei Yixin Cui Jiaqin Mei Lunwen Qian Kun Lu Zhi-Min Wang Jiana Li Qinglin Tang Wei Qian 2019Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2019,61,5:2
7An improved YOLOv3-tiny algorithm for vehicle detection in natural scenes显示文摘YOLO(You Only Look Once),as a target detection algorithm with good speed and precision,is widely used in the industry.In the process of driving,the vehicle image captured by the driving camera is detected and it extracts the license plate and the front part of the vehicle.Compared with the network structure of YOLOv3-tiny algorithm,the acquisition method of anchor box is improved by combining the Birch algorithm.In order to improve the real-time performance,the original two-scale detection is added to the multi-scale prediction of three-scale detection to ensure its accuracy.Finally,the experimental results show that the improved YOLOv3-tiny network structure proposed in this study can improve the performance of mean-average-precision,intersection over union and speed by 5.99%,17.52%and 48.4%,respectively,and the algorithm has certain robustness.Bingqiang Huang Haiping Lin Zejun Hu Xinjian Xiang Jiana Yao 2021IET Cyber-Systems and Robotics2021,3,3:2

13MICRODISSECTION OF MINIATURE PIG EAR显示文摘Objective To investigate the suitability of miniature pigs as an animal model for otological research.Methods Microdissection of the temporal bone was performed on 10 miniature pigs and recorded on photographs. Results The morphology and measurement of the external, middle and inner ear and the lateral recess of the miniature pigs were obtained by microdissection. Conclusion Compared to traditional animal models, the miniature pig may be a better model for biomedical research because of its many similarities in physiological functions with humans. 20Two types of cinnamoyl-Co A reductase function divergently in accumulation of lignins,flavonoids and glucosinolates and enhance lodging resistance in Brassica napus显示文摘Brassica crops,which are of worldwide importance,provide various oil,vegetable and ornamental products,as well as feedstocks for animal husbandry and biofuel industry.Cinnamoyl-Co A reductase(CCR)is the entry point to the lignin pathway and a crucial locus in manipulation of associated traits,but CCRassociated metabolism and traits in Brassica crops have remained largely unstudied except in Arabidopsis thaliana.We report the identification of 16 CCR genes from Brassica napus and its parental species B.rapa and B.oleracea.The Bn CCR1 and Bn CCR2 subfamilies displayed divergent organ-specificity and participation in the yellow-seed trait.Their functions were dissected via overexpression of representative paralogs in B.napus.Bn CCR1 was expressed preferentially in G-and H-lignin biosynthesis and vascular development,while Bn CCR2 was expressed in S-lignin biosynthesis and interfascicular fiber development.Bn CCR1 showed stronger effects on lignification-related development,lodging resistance,phenylpropanoid flux control,and seed coat pigmentation,whereas Bn CCR2 showed a stronger effect on sinapate biosynthesis.Bn CCR1 upregulation delayed bolting and flowering time,while Bn CCR2 upregulation weakened the leaf vascular system in consequence of suppressed G-lignin accumulation.Bn CCR1 and Bn CCR2 were closely but almost oppositely linked with glucosinolate metabolism via inter-pathway crosstalk.We conclude that Bn CCR1 and Bn CCR2 subfamilies offer great but differing potential for manipulating traits associated with phenylpropanoids and glucosinolates.This study reveals the CCR1–CCR2 divergence in Brassicaceae and offers a resource for rapeseed breeding for lodging resistance,yellowseed traits,and glucosinolate traits.Nengwen Yin Bo Li Xue Liu Ying Liang Jianping Lian Yufei Xue Cunmin Qu Kun Lu Lijuan Wei Rui Wang Jiana Li Yourong Chai 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,3:1
