| 2 | Combined acoustic radiation force impulse, aminotransferase to platelet ratio index and Forns index assessment for hepatic fibrosis grading in hepatitis B显示文摘AIM: To investigate the combined diagnostic accuracy of acoustic radiation force impulse(ARFI), aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index(APRI) and Forns index for a non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB). METHODS: In this prospective study, 206 patients had CHB with liver fibrosis stages F0-F4 classified by METAVIR and 40 were healthy volunteers were measured by ARFI, APRI and Forns index separately or combined as indicated. RESULTS: ARFI, APRI or Forns index demonstrated a significant correlation with the histological stage(all P < 0.001). According to the AUROC of ARFI and APRI for evaluating fibrotic stages more than F2, ARFI showed an enhanced diagnostic accuracy than APRI(P < 0.05). The combined measurement of ARFI and APRI exhibited better accuracy than ARFI alone when evaluating ≥ F2 fibrotic stage(Z = 2.77, P = 0.006). Combination of ARFI, APRI and Forns index did not obviously improve the diagnostic accuracy compared to the combination of ARFI and APRI(Z = 0.958, P = 0.338). | 3 | A study of hydrate plug formation in a subsea natural gas pipeline using a novel high-pressure flow loop显示文摘The natural gas pipeline from Platform QK18-1 in the southwest of Bohai Bay to the onshore processing facility is a subsea wet gas pipeline exposed to high pressure and low temperature for a long distance. Blockages in the pipeline occur occasionally. To maintain the natural gas flow in the pipeline, we proposed a method for analyzing blockages and ascribed them to the hydrate formation and agglomeration. A new high-pressure flow loop was developed to investigate hydrate plug formation and hydrate particle size, using a mixture of diesel oil, water, and natural gas as experimental fluids. The influences of pressure and initial flow rate were also studied. Experimental results indicated that when the flow rate was below 850 kg/h, gas hydrates would form and then plug the pipeline, even at a low water content (10%) of a water/oil emulsion. | 5 | Applications of graphene-based materials in environmental protection and detection显示文摘Many efficient adsorbents and sensors based on graphene and functionalized graphene have been constructed for the removal and detection of environmental pollutants due to its unique physicochemical properties. In this article, recent research achievements are reviewed on the application of graphene-based materials in the environmental protection and detection. For environmental protection, modified graphene can adsorb heavy metal ions in a high efficiency and selectivity, and thus reduces them to metals for recycling. High adsorption capacity of graphene-based materials to kinds of organic pollutants in water was also presented. Several graphene-based sensors with high limit of detection were reported to detect heavy metal ions, toxic gases and organic pollutants in environment. | 7 | VX-765 reduces neuroinflammation after spinal cord injury in mice显示文摘Inflammation is a major cause of neuronal injury after spinal cord injury. We hypothesized that inhibiting caspase-1 activation may reduce neuroinflammation after spinal cord injury, thus producing a protective effect in the injured spinal cord. A mouse model of T9 contusive spinal cord injury was established using an Infinite Horizon Impactor, and VX-765, a selective inhibitor of caspase-1, was administered for 7 successive days after spinal cord injury. The results showed that:(1) VX-765 inhibited spinal cord injury-induced caspase-1 activation and interleukin-1β and interleukin-18 secretion.(2) After spinal cord injury, an increase in M1 cells mainly came from local microglia rather than infiltrating macrophages.(3) Pro-inflammatory Th1 Th17 cells were predominant in the Th subsets. VX-765 suppressed total macrophage infiltration, M1 macrophages/microglia, Th1 and Th1 Th17 subset differentiation, and cytotoxic T cells activation;increased M2 microglia;and promoted Th2 and Treg differentiation.(4) VX-765 reduced the fibrotic area, promoted white matter myelination, alleviated motor neuron injury, and improved functional recovery. These findings suggest that VX-765 can reduce neuroinflammation and improve nerve function recovery after spinal cord injury by inhibiting caspase-1/interleukin-1β/interleukin-18. This may be a potential strategy for treating spinal cord injury. | 8 | Superior grains determined by grain weight are not fully correlated with the flowering order in rice显示文摘Rice panicles are composed of many branches with two types of extreme grains,the superior and the inferior.Traditionally,it has been well accepted that earlier flowers result in superior grains and late flowers generate inferior grains.However,these correlations have never been strictly examined in practice.In order to determine the accurate relationship between superior and inferior grains and the flowering order,we localized all the seeds in a panicle in four distinct rice species and systematically documented the rice flowering order,flower locations and the final grain weight for their relationships.Our results demonstrated that the grain weight is more heavily determined by the position of the seeds than by the flowering order.Despite earlier flowering has a positive correlation with the grain weight in general,grains from flowers blooming on the second day after anthesis generally gained the highest weight.This suggests earlier flowers may not result in superior grains.Therefore,we concluded that superior and inferior grains,commonly determined by grain weight,are not fully correlated with the flowering order in rice.Following the order of the grain weight,the superior grains are generally localized at the middle parts of the primary branches,whereas inferior grains were mainly on the last two secondary branches of the lower half part of the panicle.In addition,the weight of inferior grains were affected by spikelet thinning and spraying with exogenous plant growth regulators,indicating that physiological incompetence might be the major reason for the occurrence of the inferior grains. | PENG Ting L Qiang ZHAO Ya-fan SUN Hong-zheng HAN Ying-chun DU Yan-xiu ZHANG Jing LI Jun-zhou WANG Lin-lin ZHAO Quan-zhi | 2015 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2015,14,5: | 7 |
| 9 | Test selection and optimization for PHM based on failure evolution mechanism model显示文摘The test selection and optimization(TSO) can improve the abilities of fault diagnosis, prognosis and health-state evaluation for prognostics and health management(PHM) systems. Traditionally, TSO mainly focuses on fault detection and isolation, but they cannot provide an effective guide for the design for testability(DFT) to improve the PHM performance level. To solve the problem, a model of TSO for PHM systems is proposed. Firstly,through integrating the characteristics of fault severity and propagation time, and analyzing the test timing and sensitivity, a testability model based on failure evolution mechanism model(FEMM) for PHM systems is built up. This model describes the fault evolutiontest dependency using the fault-symptom parameter matrix and symptom parameter-test matrix. Secondly, a novel method of inherent testability analysis for PHM systems is developed based on the above information. Having completed the analysis, a TSO model, whose objective is to maximize fault trackability and minimize the test cost, is proposed through inherent testability analysis results, and an adaptive simulated annealing genetic algorithm(ASAGA) is introduced to solve the TSO problem. Finally, a case of a centrifugal pump system is used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed models and methods. | 10 | The association between the genetic polymorphisms of LMP2/LMP7 and the outcomes of HCV infection among drug users显示文摘Objective:To investigate a possible association of LMP2/LMP7 genes with chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection,and to assess whether LMP2/LMP7 genes could influence the outcomes of HCV infection among drug users.Methods:Genomic DNAs of 362 anti-HCV sero-positive drug users and 225 control drug users were extracted from the peripheral blood leukocytes.The sero-positive patients were divided into those who had persistent infection and those who had spontaneously cleared the infection.Polymorphisms of LMP genes were determined by PCR combined with restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP).Results:The distribution of LMP2 genotypes among the control,persistent infection and spontaneous clearance groups were not different.However,the LMP7 codon 145 Gln/Lys,Lys/Lys,and Gln/Lys+Lys/Lys genotypes were found significantly more frequent in the persistent infection group than in control group(OR=1.75,95%CI=1.06~2.90;OR=3.16,95%CI=1.23-8.12;OR=1.94,95%CI=1.21-3.12,respectively).Similarly,the frequencies of the codon 145 Gln/Lys,Lys/Lys,and Gln/Lys+Lys/Lys genotypes were found significantly more frequent in the persistent infection group than in the spontaneous clearance group(OR=1.64,95%CI=1.04-2.57;OR=2.40,95%CI=1.09-5.28;OR=1.76,95%CI=1.152.69,respectively).Stratified analysis indicated that combined genotype Gln/Lys+Lys/Lys of the LMP7 gene was related to an increasing susceptibility to HCV infection(OR=1.91,95%CI=1.02-3.55;OR=2.19,95%CI=1.243.89;OR=1.91,95%CI=1.05-3.48,OR=2.86,95%CI=1.41-5.78,respectively)and the risk of persistent HCV infection(OR=1.94,95%CI=1.12-3.34;OR=2.02,95%CI=1.21-3.38;OR=1.78,95%CI=1.12-2.85,OR=2.23,95%CI=1.09-4.58,respectively)among>30-year-old,males,the injection drug user(IDU)subjects and/or the shorter duration drug users(≤5 y).Conclusion:These results suggest that polymorphism of the LMP7 gene may have an influence on the outcomes of HCV infection,and is one of the factors accounting for the genetic susceptibility to HCV infection among drug users. | Qian Cui Yongxiang Zhang Jing Su Chao Shi Na Lei Keqin Ding Jun Li Rongbin Yu L u Wang Ning Wang | 2010 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,5: | 6 |
| 11 | Characterization of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency and identification of a novel haplotype 487G>A/IVS5-612(G>C) in the Achang population of southwestern China显示文摘The prevalence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency and its gene mutations were studied in the Achang population from Lianghe County in Southwestern China. We found that 7.31% (19 of 260) males and 4.35% (10 of 230) females had G6PD deficiency. The molecular analysis of G6PD gene exons 2―13 was performed by a PCR-DHPLC-Sequencing or PCR-Sequencing. Sixteen inde-pendent subjects with G6PD Mahidol (487G>A) and the new polymorphism IVS5-612 (G>C), which combined into a novel haplotype, were identified accounting for 84.2% (16/19). And 100% Achang G6PD Mahidol were linked to the IVS5-612 C. The percentage of G6PD Mahidol in the Achang group is close to that in the Myanmar population (91.3% 73/80), which implies that there are some gene flows between Achang and Myanmar populations. Interestingly, G6PD Canton (1376G>T) and G6PD Kaiping (1388G>A), which were the most common G6PD variants from other ethnic groups in China, were not found in this Achang group, suggesting that there are different G6PD mutation profiles in the Achang group and other ethnic groups in China. It is also an important theme for adapting and responding to global environmental change. Aiming at a thorough examination of the implementation of ITGP in China, this paper presents its objectives, its three major areas, and their progress so far. It also identifies the key elements of its management and proposes new perspectives on managing green transformation. For instance, we introduce a case study on cement industry that shows the positive policy effects of reducing backward production capacity on PCDD/Fs emissions. | 13 | Surgical treatment for primary angle closure-glaucoma: a Meta analysis显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of trabeculectomy,phacotrabeculectomy plus intraocular lens implantation(phacotrab+IOL group) and phacoemulsification with IOL(phaco+IOL) in primary angle-closure glaucoma(PACG).METHODS: It was a systematic review and meta-analysis,randomized controlled trials(RCT) and clinical controlled trials(CCT) were collected through electronic searches of the Cochrane Library,PubMed,EMbase,Wanfang Database online,Chinese journal Full-text Database,Chinese Scientific Journals Full-text Database (from the date of building the database to October 2010) We also checked the bibliographies of retrieved articles.All the related data that matched our standards were abstracted.The quality of included trials was evaluated according to the Dutch Cochrane Centre.RevMan 5.0 software was used for Meta-analysis.RESULTS: A total of 5 RCT and 11 CCT involving 1495 eyes were included.The results of meta-analysis showed that phacotrab+IOL group was superior than trabeculectomy(trab group) (MD -3.93,95%CI [-7.31,-0.54]) which was also superior than phaco+IOL group(MD 0.52,95%CI [0.10,0.95]) in decreasing Intraocular Pressure(IOP).Phacotrab group(MD -1.45,95%CI [-1.68,-1.22])and phaco group (MD-1.12,95%CI [-1.87,-0.37])are both deeper than trab group in the anterior chamber depth.In increasing the coefficient of outflow facility of aqueous humor(C values) there was no statistical difference in the three groups.And there was no statistical difference between phacotrab groups and phaco groups in visual acuity but phacotrab group was superior than phaco group (MD 1.07,95%CI [0.73,1.40])in the use of IOP-lowering drugs.There was no statistical difference among three groups.CONCLUSION: Current evidence suggests that phacotrab+ IOL group was superior than trab group which was also superior than phaco+IOL group in decreasing IOP.Phacotrab group and phaco group are both deeper than trab group in the anterior chamber depth.Phacotrab group was superior than phaco group in the use of IOP-lowering drugs. | Bo-Lin Deng, Jing Tian | 2011 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2011,4,3: | 5 |

| 18 | A zirconium modified Co/SiO_2 Fischer-Tropsch catalyst prepared by dielectric-barrier discharge plasma显示文摘Co/SiO2 and zirconium promoted Co/Zr/SiO2 catalysts were prepared using dielectric-barrier discharge(DBD) plasma instead of the conventional thermal calcination method.Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis(FTS) performances of the catalyst were evaluated in a fixed bed reactor.The results indicated that the catalyst treated by DBD plasma shows the higher FTS activity and yield of heavy hydrocarbons as compared with that treated by the conventional thermal calcination method.Increase in CO conversion was unnoticeable on the Co/SiO2 catalyst,but significant on the Co/Zr/SiO2 catalyst,both prepared by DBD plasma.On the other hand,heavy hydrocarbon selectivity and chain growth probability (a value) were enhanced on all the catalysts prepared by the DBD plasma.In order to study the effect of the DBD plasma treatment on the FTS performance,the catalysts were characterized by N2-physisorption,H2-temperature programed reduction(H2-TPR),H2-temperature-programmed desorption(H2-TPD) and oxygen titration,transmission electron microscope(TEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD).It was proved that,compared with the traditional calcination method,DBD plasma not only could shorten the precursor decomposition time,but also could achieve better cobalt dispersion,smaller Co3O4 cluster size and more uniform cobalt distribution.However,cobalt reducibility was hindered to some extent in the Co/SiO2 catalyst prepared by DBD plasma,while the zirconium additive prevented significantly the decrease in cobalt reducibility and increased cobalt dispersion as well as the FTS performance. | Yunhui Jiang Tingjun Fu Jing Lü Zhenhua Li | 2013 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2013,22,3: | 4 |
| 19 | Three-Dimensional In Situ Stress-Field Simulations of Shale Gas Formations:A Case Study of the 5th Member of the Xujiahe Formation in the Xinchang Gas Field,West Sichuan Depression显示文摘This work established a geological model for the 5^(th) member of the Xujiahe Formation(X5 member) in the Xinchang gas field of the West Sichuan Depression based on the lithological, structural and depositional properties, as well as logging and well completion data and drill-core observations. Rock mechanical parameters were calculated according to rock mechanic experiments and rock mechanic interpretations from logging data. We also calculated the magnitudes and orientations of the in situ stresses based on acoustic emission tests, differential strain tests, fracturing behaviour and logging interpretations as well as anisotropy logging tests, borehole-breakout measurements and well-log data. Additionally, the present stress field of the X5 member was simulated using finite element numerical(FEM) simulation methods. The numerical simulation results indicate that the distributions of lithology and fractures are key factors that influence the present stress field. The stress field in the study area is discontinuous as a result of fractures and faults in the central and eastern areas. Stress is concentrated at the end sections and bends of faults, but dissipates with distance away from both sides of the faults. A longitudinal profile clearly demonstrates the zonality and continuity of the stress field and an increase with depth. | 20 | Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in medical practice:a survey of community residents in Beijing,China显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate how community residents in Beijing understood and used Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in their medical practice.METHODS:This was a cross-sectional study conducted on 3410 community residents from four large communities of Tongzhou district in Beijng,China.A validated, self-administered questionnaire comprised of three sections was used to gather the data.A systematic sampling procedure was applied to recruit the community residents.RESULTS:A total of 3410 participants completed the questionnaire survey.It showed that in highly educated residents, 33.4%(170) knew of the names of 3-10 Chinese herbals, 35.8%(182) knew of names of 3-10 traditional Chinese patent drug.Among all the respondent residents, 80.7%(2753)believed that TCM herbal therapy and TCM non-drug treatments were effective in disease treatment, health enhancement, 85.7%(2923) had taken traditional Chinese patent drug in their life,56.8%(1937) of residents had used herbal decoction, 40.0%(1365) had received non-drug treatment of TCM, such as acupuncture, massage, cupping, auricular acupuncture.Among the elderly residents, 11.4%(98) often used Chinese patent drug and 9.8%(85) often used herbal decoction.In addition, 70.8%(2415) of residents were willing to accept knowledge and information on TCM for health enhancement and disease prevention, such as medicated diet, medicinal tea, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, although 82.8%(2825) of residents had never used them.CONCLUSION:Chinese patent drug and herbal decoction are widely used in the communities in Beijing, and there existed a possible close correlation between high educational level and better understanding of TCM.Age and occupation also correlated with the attitude to TCM therapies.The characteristics of the residents should be considered seriously in the course of promoting the understanding and application of TCM. | Liu Zhongdi Huang Yunyu Cui Zhaoli Tan Yong Yang Jing Lü Aiping Wang Yaoxian Jiang Miao | 2017 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,2: | 3 |
