1Chinese Outward Foreign Direct Investment and Industrial Upgrading from the Perspective of Differences among Countries显示文摘This paper constructs a two-sector model to identify the effects of outward foreign direct investment(OFDI)in different countries on China s industrial upgrading and conducts an empirical analysis using provincial-level panel data from 2003--2015.The results show that China can benefit firom industrial upgrading via OFDI in developed countries by way of reverse technology spillover:This effect is significant in the eastern region,but not in the central and western regions.China can also benefit from industrial upgrading via OFDI in developing countries and countries along the Belt and Road through marginal industrial transfer.This effect is more significant in the central region,followed by the western and eastern regions.Our results imply that China should promote technology-seeking OFDI in developed countries,and enhance efficiency-seeking OFDI in developing countries,especially in countries along the Belt and Road.Hao Chen Jiadong Pan Wen Xiao 2020China & World Economy2020,28,3:3
2Efficient visible-light-driven water oxidation by single-crystal Ta_(3)N_(5)nanoparticles显示文摘Ta3N5 is regarded as a promising photocatalyst for solar water splitting because of its excellent visible light absorption characteristics and simple composition.Conventional Ta3N5 photocatalysts prepared from oxide precursors typically comprise aggregated polycrystalline particles with defects and grain boundaries that reduce the water oxidation activity of the material.In the present work,well-dispersed Ta3N5 nanoparticulate single crystals were synthesized via a mild nitridation process using pure Ta metal nanopowder or Ta nanopowder mixed with NaCl.The resulting high-quality Ta3N5 nanoparticles,after loading with an oxygen evolution cocatalyst,exhibited impressively high photocatalytic performance during O_(2)evolution from a sacrificial AgNO3 solution,with an apparent quantum yield of 9.4%at 420 nm.Our findings suggest a new approach to the facile fabrication of nanostructured single-crystal photocatalysts for efficient solar water splitting,based on the use of metal nanopowders.Zheng Wang Jeongsuk Seo Takashi Hisatomi Mamiko Nakabayashi Jiadong Xiao Shanshan Chen Lihua Lin Zhenhua Pan Mary Krause Nick Yin Gordon Smith Naoya Shibata Tsuyoshi Takata Kazunari Domen 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
3Nursing homes’social responsibility and competitive edge:a cross‐sectional study on elderly choices about care service and price levels in Zhejiang Province,China显示文摘Background In the context of China's aging population,meeting consumer demand is an essential way for nursing homes to fulfill social responsibilities and improve competitive advantages.However,since little is known about the elderly's service level and price choices for nursing home care,this study aims to explore the non-disabled elderly's nursing home admission intention,service level,and price choices.Methods A cross-sectional survey of 402 non-disabled respondents was conducted in three different income level cities of Zhejiang Province,in July and August 2018.Multinomial logistic regression and multiple linear regression were used to identify the determinants of admission intention,service level choice,and price choice.Results Education,residence,and number of children were significantly associated with nursing home admission intention.Compared to those with no intention,the elderly with higher income and household wealth were less likely to have conditional intentions,and those living with the family were less likely to have unconditional intentions.Compared to medium-level services,the elderly with higher monthly income(relative risk ratio[RRR]3.07,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.801 to 5.233),household wealth(RRR 5.451,95%CI:2.249 to 13.216),and age(RRR 1.528,95%CI:1.004 to 2.326)were more likely to prefer high-level services,while older adults with higher monthly income(RRR 0.516,95%CI:0.344 to 0.774),and those with pensions(RRR 0.267,95%CI:0.076 to 0.931)were less likely to prefer low-level services.The elderly's price preference increased by 398 CNY as monthly income increased by 1000 CNY,and by 270 CNY as the housing number increased by one.Having pensions increased price preference(468 CNY),whereas having health insurance decreased price preference(–690 CNY).Conclusion The elderly's intention of nursing home admission was primarily affected by sociodemographic factors,while price and service level choices were primarily affected by financial factors.Nursing homes should use the market segmentation method to provide precision nursing home care for different groups of non-disabled elderly.Liyun Liu Lizheng Shi Jiadong Pan 2022Global Health Journal2022,6,1:0
4Novel perspective in transplantation therapy of mesenchymal stem cells:targeting the ferroptosis pathway显示文摘Ex vivo culture-amplified mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have been studied because of their capacity for healing tissue injury.MSC transplantation is a valid approach for promoting the repair of damaged tissues and replacement of lost cells or to safeguard surviving cells,but currently the efficiency of MSC transplantation is constrained by the extensive loss of MSCs during the short post-transplantation period.Hence,strategies to increase the efficacy of MSC treatment are urgently needed.Iron overload,reactive oxygen species deposition,and decreased antioxidant capacity suppress the proliferation and regeneration of MSCs,thereby hastening cell death.Notably,oxidative stress(OS)and deficient antioxidant defense induced by iron overload can result in ferroptosis.Ferroptosis may inhibit cell survival after MSC transplantation,thereby reducing clinical efficacy.In this review,we explore the role of ferroptosis in MSC performance.Given that little research has focused on ferroptosis in transplanted MSCs,further study is urgently needed to enhance the in vivo implantation,function,and duration of MSCs.YUZHU XU PAN FAN LEI LIU XUANFEI XU LELE ZHANG JIADONG WANG YUAO TAO XIAOLONG LI XI LI YUNTAO WANG 2023Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2023,24,2:0
