2Sm-Nd isotope dating of hydrothermal calcites from the Xikuangshan antimony deposit,Central Hunan显示文摘The research on Samarium-Neodymium isotope systematics of hydrothermal calcites from the Xi-kuangshan antimony deposit, Central Hunan, places precise timing constraints on the Sb mineralization in this area. It is revealed that the Xikuangshan deposit formed during the late Jurassic-early Cretaceous Period, the early- and late-stage mineralization took place at (155.5±1.1) Ma and (124.1±3.7) Ma, respectively. 3Petrogenesis of the Xihuashan Granite in Southern Jiangxi Province,South China:Constraints from Zircon U-Pb Geochronology,Geochemistry and Nd Isotopes显示文摘Mesozoic granitic intrusions are widely distributed in the Nanling region,South China.Yanshanian granites are closely connected with the formation of tungsten deposits.The Xihuashan granite is a typical representative of tungsten-bearing granite.The Xihuashan granite consists mainly of medium-grained porphyritic biotite granite,medium-grained biotite granite and fine-grained two-mica granite,which correspond to LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb ages of 155.5±0.4 Ma,153.0±0.6 Ma and 152.8±0.9 Ma,respectively.Rocks from the Xihuashan mining area displays high SiO2(73.85% to 76.49%) and Na2O+K2O contents(8.09% to 9.43%),belonging to high-K calc-alkaline series.They are metaluminous to weakly peraluminous with A/CNK values ranging from 0.96 to 1.06.All granites in this study area are rich in Rb,Th,U and Pb,and depleted in Ba,Sr,P,Ti,Nb and Eu,especially depleted in medium-grained biotite granite and fine-grained two-mica granite.The medium-grained porphyritic biotite granites usually have high LREE concentrations,whereas medium-grained biotite granite and fine-grained two-mica granite displays high HREE contents.Our geochemical data reveal that the studied rocks are highly fractionated I-type granite.The magma underwent strong magma differentiation with decreasing temperature and increasing oxygen fugacity,which may explain the formation of three types of distinct granites.Variations of Rb,Sr and Ba concentrations in different type granites were controlled by fractional crystallization of biotite and feldspar.Fractional crystallization of monazite,allanite and apatite resulted in LREE changes in granite,and formation of garnet mainly caused HREE changes.Granites from the Xihuashan mining area have relatively high εNd(t) values(-9.77 to -11.46),indicating that they were probably generated by partial melting of underlying Proterozoic metasedimentary rocks with minor addition of juvenile crust or mantle-derived magmas.YANG Jiehua PENG Jiantang ZHAO Junhong FU Yazhou YANG Chen HONG Yinglong 2012Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,1:17
4Characteristics of rare-earth elements (REE),strontium and neodymium isotopes in hydrothermal fluorites from the Bailashui tin deposit in the Furong ore field,southern Hunan Province,China显示文摘In this paper the authors present the REE concentrations and Sr and Nd isotopic compositions of fluorites from the Bailashui tin deposit of the Furong ore field,southern Hunan Province. The results showed that the total amount of REE in fluorites is usually low,ranging from 0.705 to 8.785 μg/g with the chondrite-normalized REE dis-tribution patterns similar to those of the Qitianling granites in the study area,characterized by LREE-enrichment patterns with pronounced negative Eu anomalies. The fluorites vary in Sr isotopic composition within the range of 0.7083-0.7091,the values are lower than those of the granites and higher than those of the host carbonate rocks in this area. The εNd(t) values of fluorites vary between -9.4 and +10.3,revealing that both the crust-and mantle-source materials were involved in the ore-forming hydrothermal fluids. Combined with previous studies on this ore deposit,the Bailashui tin deposit is temporally and spatially closely related with granitic magmatism in this area. The hydro-thermal fluorites are the product of fluid/rock interactions between granitic magmatic hydrothermal fluid and marine carbonate rocks. The REE and F in the ore-forming fluid were derived from the granites,whereas Sr in the ore-forming fluid came mainly from the granitic magmatic hydrothermal fluid and marine carbonate rocks,although variations in Sr isotopic composition cannot be explained by a simple mixture of these two end-members. 5Os isotopic compositions of a cobalt-rich ferromanganese crust profile in Central Pacific显示文摘187Os/188Os ratios in all sub-layers of the Co-rich ferromanganese crust MP5D17 from Line Seamount in Central Pacific have been systematically determined. The 187Os/188Os values in this crust are highly variable, ranging from 0.4262 to 1.0155. From the bottom to the top, the os-mium isotopic ratios of the crust display a regular variation trend, which correlates well with its changes in structure and texture in the vertical profile. In comparison with the evolu-tion curve of Os isotopic composition in seawater over the past 80 Ma, a similar evolution tendency can be found with respect to the Os isotopic composition of the crust in this study. 6Genetic diversity and DNA fingerprinting in jute(Corchorus spp.) based on SSR markers显示文摘Genetic diversity analysis and DNA finger printing are very useful in breeding programs,seed conservation and management. Jute(Corchorus spp.) is the second most important natural fiber crop after cotton. DNA fingerprinting studies in jute using SSR markers are limited. In this study, 58 jute accessions, including two control varieties(Huangma 179 and Kuanyechangguo) from the official variety registry in China were evaluated with 28 pairs of SSR primers. A total of 184 polymorphic loci were identified. Each primer detected 3 to 15 polymorphic loci, with an average of 6.6. The 58 jute accessions were DNA-fingerprinted with 67 SSR markers from the 28 primer pairs. These markers differentiated the 58 jute accessions from one another, with Co SSR305-120 and Co SSR174-195 differentiating Huangma 179 and Kuanyechangguo, respectively. NTSYS-pc2.10 software was used to analyze the genetic diversity in the 58 jute accessions. Their genetic similarity coefficients ranged from 0.520 to 0.910 with an average of 0.749, indicating relatively great genetic diversity among them. The 58 jute accessions were divided into four groups with the coefficient 0.710 used as a value for classification, consistent with their species and pedigrees. 7The role of aberrant promoter hypermethylation of DACT1 in bladder urothelial carcinoma显示文摘The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hypermethylation of DACT1 gene pro-moter and lower mRNA expression in bladder urothelial carcinoma tissue.The methylation status of 29 urothelial carcinoma samples and 29 normal tissue samples were examined by methylation-specific polymerase chain reac-tion(MSP).The DACT1 mRNA transcript levels and DACT1 protein levels in all samples were then evaluated to define the relationship between the methylation status of the DACT1 promoter and its expression at the transcrip-tional and translational levels.Decreased expression of DACT1 was detected in 89.66% of urothelial carcinomas(26/29;P < 0.005).Promoter hypermethylation was found in 58.62%(17/29) urothelial carcinomas and 25%(7/29) normal tissues,respectively(P < 0.05).DACT1 expression was lower in tissues where the DACT1 gene promoter was hypermethylated than in unmethylated tissues(0.25±0.17 vs 0.69±0.30,P < 0.05).DACT1 gene hyper-methylation was closely related to tumor size,grade and stage(P < 0.05).Our results indicate that silencing and downregulation of DACT1 mRNA may be implicated in carcinogenesis and the progression of bladder urothelial carcinoma,and may be a potential prognostic factor.Huan Cheng Zhonglei Deng Zengjun Wang Wei Zhang Jiantang Su 2012The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,5:4
8Lead isotope geochemical characteristics of Pb-Zn-Cu deposits on the southwestern margin of Tarim,and their significance显示文摘The polymetallic(Pb,Zn,Cu,etc) ore belt on the southwestern margin of Tarim is one of the major regions with the greatest prospecting potential in Xinjiang.Reported in this paper are the lead isotope data for 66 sulfide samples(including 50 galena samples,15 chalcopyrite samples and 1 pyrite sample) collected from such representative deposits as Tamu,Tiekelike,Kalangu,Abalieke,etc.in this ore belt.The Pb isotopic ratios of 206 Pb/204 Pb,207 Pb/204 Pb and 208 Pb/204 Pb in the galena samples range from 17.931 to 18.176,15.609 to 15.818 and 38.197 to 38.944,with the average values of 18.017,15.684 and 38.462,respectively.Those in the chalcopyrite samples range from 17.926 to 18.144,15.598 to 15.628 and 38.171 to 38.583,with the average values of 18.020,15.606 and 38.262,respectively.The pyrite sample has the Pb isotopic ratios of 206 Pb/204 Pb,207 Pb/204 Pb and 208 Pb/204 Pb to be 17.980,15.604 and 38.145,respectively.In combination with the previous Pb isotope data for sulfides,it is found that there is only a slight variation in the Pb isotopic composition of galena,chalcopyrite,sphalerite and pyrite in the ore belt.However,there is some difference in Pb isotopic characteristics between galena and chalcopyrite,especially the Pb isotopic composition of galena shows an obvious linear correlation with some other relevant parameters(e.g.β and γ).The comprehensive analysis suggested that lead in galena(maybe including sphalerite and pyrite) was derived principally from wall rocks and underlying basement,and that in chalcopyrite only originated from the basement.The single-stage model ages of these sulfides couldn't indicate the time limit of metallogenesis(Pb,Zn,Cu,etc.),and the positive linear correlations for the Pb isotopic composition of galena are of no single-stage and two-stage Pb-Pb isochron significance.Furthermore,there are significant differences in Pb isotopic composition characteristics between the genetic type of deposits in this polymetallic ore belt and the Mississippi Valley type(MVT).In addition,the authors also pointed out that there is a phenomenon of differentiation(not paragenesis) for lead and copper elements during the process of metallogenesis in this ore belt.SHEN Nengping ZHANG Zhengwei YOU Fuhua PENG Jiantang ZHU Xiaoqing XIAO Jiafei 2012Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2012,31,4:3

10MTHFR C677T polymorphisms are associated with aberrant methylation of the IGF-2 gene in transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder显示文摘The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between methylation status of the insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF-2) gene and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T gene polymorphisms in bladder transitional cell carcinoma tissues in a Chinese population.The polymorphisms of the folate metabolism enzyme gene MTHFR were studied by restrictive fragment length polymorphism (RFLP).PCR-based methods of DNA methylation analysis were used to detect the CpG island methylation status of the IGF-2 gene.The association between the methylation status of the IGF-2 gene and clinical characteristics,as well as MTHFR C677T polymorphisms,was analyzed.Aberrant hypomethylation of the IGF-2 gene was found in 68.3% bladder cancer tissues and 12.4% normal bladder tissues,respectively,while hypomethylation was not detected in almost all normal bladder tissues.The hypomethylation rate of the IGF-2 gene in cancer tissues was significantly higher in patients with lymph node metastasis than in those without lymph node metastasis (46.3% vs 17.2%,P=0.018).No association was found between aberrant DNA methylation and selected factors including sex,age,tobacco smoking,alcohol consumption and green tea consumption.After adjusting for potential confounding variables the variant allele of MTHFR C677T was found to be associated with hypomethylation of the IGF-2 gene.Compared with wildtype CC,the odds ratio was 4.33 (95% CI=1.06-10.59) for CT and 4.95 (95% CI=1.18-12.74) for TT.MTHFR 677 CC and CT genotypes might be one of the reasons that cause abnormal hypomethylation of the IGF-2 gene,and the aberrant CpG island hypomethylation of the IGF-2 gene may contribute to the genesis and progression of bladder transitional cell carcinoma.Huan Cheng Zhonglei Deng Zengjun Wang Wei Zhang Jiantang Su 2012The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,2:3

13Lithofacies Characters and Significance of the Submarine Fan of the Liufengguan Group in Qinling显示文摘Field investigation and laboratory research on flysch of the Liufengguan Group in Qinling indicate the following:(1) Sandstone of the Liufengguan Group is categorized as feldspathic lithic graywacke with a minor amount of lithic graywacke in the QFR triangular diagram.Grain size≤0.3 mm.Bedding plane structures such as groove casts and suspected flute casts can be found at the bottom of the sandstone.It is inferred that currents may have come from the southeast during deposition.Bedding structures such as ripple marks,graded bedding,parallel bedding,small-scale cross bedding,climbing bedding,suspected convolute bedding,microlamination and sliding structures have also been observed,which are of indicative significance.It is thought that the Liufengguan Group has the sedimentary characteristics of bedding,bedding plane structures and lithological assemblages of deep-sea low-density turbidity current deposits.The vertical succession of the Bouma sequence in the inner fan subfacies zone is generally incomplete:the assemblage of Ta and Tabc is commonly seen;the succession of the middle fan subfacies zone is relatively complete;and divisions Te and Tb are common in the outer fan subfacies zone.(2) The flysh of the Liufengguan Group is a sequence of deep-sea argillaceous-arenaceous submarine fan deposits,in which the authors recognize the inner,middle and outer fan subfacies and also nine types of lithofacies:normal graded sandstone(A1),medium-to thick-bedded,fine-grained sandstone(A2),medium-to thick-bedded and massive siltstone(A3),thin-bedded,fine-grained sandstone and mudstone(B1),irregular interbeds of thin-bedded,fine-grained sandstone and siltstone(B2),thin-bedded,fine-grained sandstone(C1),very thin-bedded,fine-grained sandstone(D1),olistostromes(E1) and deep-sea mudstone(F).The inner fan consists of four microfacies:natural levee(A1),water channel(A2,A3) and olistostrome(E1);in the middle fan there also occur four microfacies,i.e.,branch channel(B1),branch channel(B2),interdistributary bay(D1) and olistostrome.The outer fan is made up of the branch channel(C1) and sheet sand(D1) microfacies,which alternate vertically with sediments of deep-sea plain subfacies(F).There occur fining-and thinning-upward channel deposits in the outer-fan subfacies zone of the submarine fan of the Liufengguan Group observed in this study.The quartz content of the graywacke of the deposits is all higher than 40% and may reach as high as 60%.Therefore,on the basis of the aforementioned features,this flysh should be formed in a passive continental-margin tectonic environment.ZHENG Ning LI Tingdong YOU Guoqing ZHANG Shuanhou CUI Jiantang CHENG Muwei 2012Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,1:2

17Low-temperature alteration of oceanic island basalts and their contribution to transition metal circulation of the ocean显示文摘The major elements, rare earth elements (REE) and trace elements of four basalt samples from central and western Pacific ferromanganese crust provinces have been analyzed using chemical methods and ICP-MS, respectively. The results indicate that the samples have been extensively altered and that the contents of their major elements have changed significantly. However, the similarity of REE partition patterns and trace element contents of basalt samples to those of fresh oceanic island basalts (OIB) indicate that the basalt samples originated as OIB. Because of low-temperature alteration, the contents of Al2O3, Fe2O3, MnO, K2O and P2O5 increased, while MgO and FeO decreased. Active components, such as magnesium and iron, were leached from OIB resulting in the relative enrichment of SiO2. The leaching of active components can cause the relative enrichment of REE, while the precipitation of LREE-rich ferromanganese oxides in vesicles and fissures not only causes an increase of REE contents, but also induces 'fractionation' of LREE and HREE. Based on the enrichment mechanism of REE contents, the theoretical quantities of precipitated ferromanganese oxides and the depleted quantities of active components are calculated: the depleted quantities of active components for the unit mass of fresh basalts vary in the range of 0.15~0.657, and the precipitated quantities of ferromanganese oxides for the unit mass of fresh basalts vary in the range of 0.006~0.042. Of the major elements, the two most depleted are iron, and magnesium, with 18.28%~70.95% of iron and 44.50%~93.94% of magnesium in the fresh basalts was leached out.
