Structural and biochemical studies provide insight into molecular basis of autoinhibition,ligand recognition, and resistosome/inflammasome formation of several NLRs. In this review, we summarize these studies focusing on the structural aspect of NLRs. | 8 | Effect of Fe, Si and Cooling Rate on the Formation of Fe-and Mn-rich Intermetallics in Al–5Mg–0.8Mn Alloy显示文摘The Fe-and Mn-rich intermetallics are of great effect on the mechanical properties of the AA5083 type alloy(Al–5Mg–0.8Mn). The effect of Fe, Si and cooling rate on the formation of the intermetallics were investigated by analyzing the microstructures of the alloys with different Fe and Si contents. The results indicated that increasing the Fe content resulted in the increase of the Al_6(Fe,Mn) phase in both amount and size. In the alloys with high Fe content, the platelet-like Al_6(Fe,Mn) compounds lined up and formed a band. Increasing the content of Si resulted in the increase of the Mg_2 Si phase which formed a network structure. Increasing the cooling rate significantly refined the intermetallics. However, increasing the cooling rate did not change the characteristic of the intermetallic compounds in the alloys with low or medium Si contents. For the alloys with high contents of Fe and Si under the condition of near-rapid cooling, the Fe- and Mn-rich intermetallic compound changed to the quaternary (Al)_15(Fe,Mn)_3Si phase and displayed a fine fish bone or Chinese script structure. | 11 | Nitrated and parent PAHs in the surface water of Lake Taihu,China:Occurrence,distribution,source,and human health risk assessment显示文摘Nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(NPAHs)have toxic potentials that are higher than those of their corresponding parent polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and thus have received increasing attention in recent years.In this study,the occurrence,distribution,source,and human health risk assessment of 15 NPAHs and 16 PAHs were investigated in the surface water from 20 sampling sites of Lake Taihu during the dry,normal,and flood seasons of 2018.The PAH concentrations ranged from 255 to 7298 ng/L and the NPAH concentrations ranged from not-detected(ND)to 212 ng/L.Among the target analytes,2-nitrofluorene(2-n Flu)was the predominant NPAH,with a detection frequency ranging from 85%to 90%and a maximum concentration of 56.2 ng/L.The three-ringed and four-ringed NPAHs and PAHs comprised the majority of the detected compounds.In terms of seasonal variation,the highest levels of the NPAHs and PAHs were in the dry season and flood season,respectively.Diagnostic ratio analysis indicated that the prime source of NPAHs was direct combustion,whereas in the case of PAHs the contribution was predominantly from a mixed pattern including pollution from unburned petroleum and petroleum combustion.The human health risk of NPAHs and PAHs was evaluated using a lifetime carcinogenic risk assessment model.The carcinogenic risk level of the targets ranged from 2.09×10^(-7)to 5.75×10^(-5)and some surface water samples posed a potential health risk. | Jijie Kong Yuxuan Dai Mengshu Han Huan He Jiapeng Hu Junyi Zhang Junzhe Shi Qiming Xian Shaogui Yang Cheng Sun | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4: | 6 |

| 17 | Effects of Driving Mode on the Performance of Multiple-Chamber Piezoelectric Pumps with Multiple Actuators显示文摘Due to the limited output capability of piezoelectric diaphragm pumps, the driving voltage is frequently increased to obtain the desired output. However, the excessive voltage application may lead to a large deformation in the piezoelectric ceramics, which could cause it to breakdown or become damaged. Therefore, increasing the number of chambers to obtain the desired output is proposed. Using a check-valve quintuple-chamber pump with quintuple piezoelectric actuators, the characteristics of the pump under different driving modes are investigated through experiments. By changing the number and connection mode of working actuators, pump performances in terms of flow rate and backpressure are tested at a voltage of 150 V with a frequency range of 60 Hz ?400 Hz. Experiment results indicate that the properties of the multiple-chamber pump change significantly with distinct working chambers even though the number of pumping chambers is the same. Pump performance declines as the distance between the working actuators increases. Moreover, pump performance declines dramatically when the working piezoelectric actuator closest to the outlet is involved. The maximum backpressures of the pump with triple, quadruple, and quintuple actuators are increased by 39%, 83%, and 128%, respectively, compared with the pump with double working actuators; the corresponding maximum flow rates of the pumps are simply increased by 25.9%, 49.2%, and 67.8%, respectively.
