| 1 | Real-world fuel efficiency and exhaust emissions of light-duty diesel vehicles and their correlation with road conditions显示文摘The real-world fuel efficiency and exhaust emission profiles of CO, HC and NOx for light-duty diesel vehicles were investigated. Using a portable emissions measurement system, 16 diesel taxies were tested on different roads in Macao and the data were normalized with the vehicle specific power bin method. The 11 Toyota Corolla diesel taxies have very good fuel economy of (5.9 ± 0.6) L/100 km, while other five diesel taxies showed relatively high values at (8.5 ± 1.7) L/100 km due to the variation in transmission systems and emission control strategies. Compared to similar Corolla gasoline models, the diesel cars confirmed an advantage of ca. 20% higher fuel efficiency. HC and CO emissions of all the 16 taxies are quite low, with the average at (0.05 ± 0.02) g/km and (0.38 ± 0.15) g/km, respectively. The average NOx emission factor of the 11 Corolla taxies is (0.56 ± 0.17) g/km, about three times higher than their gasoline counterparts. Two of the three Hyundai Sonata taxies, configured with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) + diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) emission control strategies, indicated significantly higher NO2 emissions and NO2/NOx ratios than other diesel taxies and consequently trigger a concern of possibly adverse impacts on ozone pollution in urban areas with this technology combination. A clear and similar pattern for fuel consumption and for each of the three gaseous pollutant emissions with various road conditions was identified. | 3 | Origin of Luminescent Centers and Edge States in Low-Dimensional Lead Halide Perovskites:Controversies,Challenges and Instructive Approaches显示文摘With only a few deep-level defect states having a high formation energy and dominance of shallow carrier non-trapping defects,the defect-tolerant electronic and optical properties of lead halide perovskites have made them appealing materials for high-efficiency,low-cost,solar cells and light-emitting devices.As such,recent observations of apparently deep-level and highly luminescent states in low-dimensional perovskites have attracted enormous attention as well as intensive debates.The observed green emission in 2D CsPb2Br5 and 0 D Cs4PbBr6 poses an enigma over whether it is originated from intrinsic point defects or simply from highly luminescent CsPbBr3 nanocrystals embedded in the otherwise transparent wide band gap semiconductors.The nature of deep-level edge emission in 2D Ruddlesden–Popper perovskites is also not well understood.In this mini review,the experimental evidences that support the opposing interpretations are analyzed,and challenges and root causes forthe controversy are discussed.Shortcomings in the current density functional theory approaches to modeling of properties and intrinsic point defects in lead halide perovskites are also noted.Selected experimental approaches are suggested to better correlate property with structure of a material and help resolve the controversies.Understanding and identification of the origin of luminescent centers will help design and engineer perovskites for wide device applications. | Jiming Bao Viktor G.Hadjiev | 2019 | Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,2: | 2 |

| 13 | Discrete element method study of parameter optimization and particle mixing behaviour in a soil mixer显示文摘Soil mixing is an emerging research in the field of construction resource recovery.In this study,the mixing behaviour of soil particles in a mixer is numerically simulated by the discrete element method(DEM).A four-factor,three-level orthogonal experiment is designed to optimize the mixer design by selecting the fly-cutter speed,spindle speed,number of blades and fly-cutter diameter,using Lacey mixing index and power consumption as evaluation indicators.Then,the impact of soil cohesion and type on the mixing behaviour is investigated.The results show that the optimal parameter combination of this experiment is 280 rpm fly-cutter speed,40 rpm spindle speed,4 blades and 250 mm fly-cutter diameter.This optimal combination reaches a comparatively uniform state mix in 5.9 s with an average power consumption of 704.11 W.In addition,the wear and tear of the mixer increases as soil cohesion increases,while the mixing quality of materials declines,resulting in a“shaft hugging”phenomenon.The mixing efficiency varies greatly among different soil types,but the radial and tangential velocities have a similar law.This work can provide some guidance for the optimization design of a mixer and study of soil mixing. | Ming Bao Jiming Lin Feng Zhang Jianhong Yang | 2023 | Particuology2023,,10: | 0 |

| 15 | Hierarchical Interconnected NiMoN with Large Specific Surface Area and High Mechanical Strength for Efficient and Stable Alkaline Water/Seawater Hydrogen Evolution显示文摘NiMo-based nanostructures are among the most active hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalysts under an alkaline environment due to their strong water dissociation ability.However,these nanostructures are vulnerable to the destructive effects of H_(2) production,especially at industry-standard current densities.Therefore,developing a strategy to improve their mechanical strength while maintaining or even further increasing the activity of these nanocatalysts is of great interest to both the research and industrial communities.Here,a hierarchical interconnected NiMoN(HW-NiMoN-2h)with a nanorod-nanowire morphology was synthesized based on a rational combination of hydrothermal and water bath processes.HW-NiMoN-2h is found to exhibit excellent HER activity due to the accomodation of abundant active sites on its hierarchical morphology,in which nanowires con-nect free-standing nanorods,concurrently strengthening its structural stability to withstand H_(2) production at 1 A cm^(−2).Seawater is an attractive feedstock for water electrolysis since H_(2) generation and water desalination can be addressed simultaneously in a single process.The HER performance of HW-NiMoN-2h in alkaline seawater suggests that the presence of Na+ions interferes with the reation kinetics,thus lowering its activity slightly.However,benefiting from its hierarchical and interconnected characteristics,HW-NiMoN-2h is found to deliver outstanding HER activity of 1 A cm^(−2) at 130 mV overpotential and to exhibit excellent stability at 1 A cm^(−2) over 70 h in 1 M KOH seawater. | Minghui Ning Yu Wang Libo Wu Lun Yang Zhaoyang Chen Shaowei Song Yan Yao Jiming Bao Shuo Chen Zhifeng Ren | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,9: | 0 |
