2Effect of formulation variables on in vitro release of a water-soluble drug from chitosanesodium alginate matrix tablets显示文摘The objective of this study is to investigate the feasibility of using chitosanesodium alginate(CSeSA)based matrix tablets for extended-release of highly water-soluble drugs by changing formulation variables.Using trimetazidine hydrochloride(TH)as a water-soluble model drug,influence of dissolution medium,the amount of CSeSA,the CS:SA ratio,the type of SA,the type and amount of diluents,on in vitro drug release from CSeSA based matrix tablets were studied.Drug release kinetics and release mechanisms were elucidated.In vitro release experiments were conducted in simulated gastric fluid(SGF)followed by simulated intestinal fluid(SIF).Drug release rate decreased with the increase of CSeSA amount.CS:SA ratio had only slight effect on drug release and no influence of SA type on drug release was found.On the other hand,a large amount of water-soluble diluents could modify drug release profiles.It was found that drug release kinetics showed the best fit to Higuchi equation with Fickian diffusion as the main release mechanism.In conclusion,this study demonstrated that it is possible to design extended-release tablets of watersoluble drugs using CSeSA as the matrix by optimizing formulation components,and provide better understanding about drug release from CSeSA matrix tablets.Liang Li Jinfeng Li Shanshan Si Linlin Wang Chenjun Shi Yujiao Sun Zhenglin Liang Shirui Mao 2015Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2015,10,4:2
3Development and evaluation of vinpocetine inclusion complex for brain targeting显示文摘The objective of this paper is to prepare vinpocetine(VIN)inclusion complex and evaluate its brain targeting effect after intranasal administration.In the present study,VIN inclusion complex was prepared in order to increase its solubility.Stability constant(Kc)was used for host selection.Factors influencing properties of the inclusion complex was investigated.Formation of the inclusion complex was identified by solubility study and DSC analysis.The brain targeting effect of the complex after intranasal administration was studied in rats.It was demonstrated that properties of the inclusion complex was mainly influenced by cyclodextrin type,organic acids type,system pH and host/guest molar ratio.Multiple component complexes can be formed by the addition of citric acid,with solubility improved for more than 23 times.Furthermore,In vivo study revealed that after intranasal administration,the absolute bioavailability of vinpocetine inclusion complex was 88%.Compared with intravenous injection,significant brain targeting effect was achieved after intranasal delivery,with brain targeting index 1.67.In conclusion,by intranasal administration of VIN inclusion complex,a fast onset of action and good brain targeting effect can be achieved.Intranasal route is a promising approach for the treatment of CNS diseases.Jiaojiao Ding Jinfeng Li Shirui Mao 2015Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2015,10,2:2

7Numerical Investigation of the Transient Flow and Frequency Characteristic in a Centrifugal Pump with Splitter Blades显示文摘To analyze the internal flow characteristics of each subchannel in a low-specific-speed centrifugal pump with splitter blades,the time histories and frequency spectra of pressure fluctuations and the distributions of the corresponding flow states in one impeller channel were investigated through the numerical analysis.Performance experiments and particle image velocimetry (PIV) tests were carried out to verify the results of the numerical calculations.The results suggested that the simulation analysis agreed well with the test results.The time histories and frequency spectra of pressure fluctuations depending on its location (close to or away from the volute tongue) present different changes.The predominant frequency of each monitor point equals to five or ten times shaft frequency.The jet-wake flow pattern at each subchannel separated by splitter blade in one impeller channel is not circumferentially uniform.For the channel away from volute tongue,the magnitude of turbulence kinetic energy in pressure side subchannel is well larger than that in suction side subchannel.With the increase in flow rate,the region close to the elbow of the volute outlet emerges a large-scale vortex.LI Guidong ZHANG Jinfeng MAO Jieyun YUAN Shouqi JIA Jing 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,2:0
8Role of social organization engagement in high-risk groups intervention against HIV/AIDS:a case study from 176 cities of China显示文摘Background: A high-risk prevention strategy is an effective way to fight against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). The China AIDS Fund for Non-Governmental Organizations (CAFNGO) was established in 2015 to help social organizations intervene to protect high-risk populations in 176 cities. This study aimed to evaluate the role of social organizations in high-risk population interventions against HIV/AIDS.Methods: This study was based on the CAFNGO program from 2016 to 2020. The collected data included the number and types of social organizations participating in high-risk group interventions and the amount of funds obtained by these organizations each year. We explored the factors influencing the number of newly diagnosed AIDS cases using a spatial econometric model. Furthermore, we evaluated the effectiveness of intervention activities by comparing the percentages of the individuals who initially tested positive, and the individuals who took the confirmatory test, as well as those who retested positive and underwent the treatment.Results: Overall, from 2016 to 2020, the number of social organizations involved in interventions to protect HIV/AIDS high-risk populations increased from 441 to 532, and the invested fund increased from $3.98 to $10.58 million. The number of newly diagnosed cases decreased from 9128 to 8546 during the same period. Although the number of cities with overall spatial correlations decreased, the spatial agglomeration effect persisted in the large cities. Citywise, the number of social organizations (direct effect 19.13), the permanent resident population (direct effect 0.12), GDP per capita (direct effect 17.58;indirect effect -15.38), and passenger turnover volume (direct effect 5.50;indirect effect -8.64) were the major factors influencing new positive cases confirmed through the testing interventions performed by the social organizations. The initial positive test rates among high-risk populations were below 5.5%, the retesting rates among those who initially tested positive were above 60%, and the treatment rates among diagnosed cases were above 70%.Conclusions: The spatial effect of social organizations participating in interventions targeting high-risk populations funded by CAFNGO is statistically significant. Nevertheless, despite the achievements of these social organizations in tracking new cases and encouraging treatment, a series of measures should be taken to further optimize the use of CAFNGO. Working data should be updated from social organizations to CAFNGO more frequently by establishing a data monitoring system to help better track newly diagnosed AIDS cases. 11Prediction and parametric analysis of 3D borehole and total internal thermal resistance of single U-tube borehole heat exchanger for ground source heat pumps显示文摘The borehole and total internal thermal resistance are both significant parameters in evaluating the thermal performance of the ground source heat pump.This study aimed to obtain the accurate correlation of the 3D borehole and total internal thermal resistance(R_(b,3D)and R_(a,3D))and analyze the impacts of parameters on the R_(b,3D)and R_(a,3D).Firstly,eight parameters affecting the R_(b,3D)and R_(a,3D),including the borehole diameter,pipe diameter,pipe-pipe distance,borehole depth,soil thermal conductivity,grout thermal conductivity,pipe thermal conductivity,and fluid velocity inside the pipe,were considered and an L-54 design matrix was generated.Then,the 3D numerical model,coupling with the four-resistance model,was proposed to calculate R_(b,3D)and R_(a,3D)for each case.After that,the response surface methodology was employed to obtain and verify the correlation of R_(b,3D)and R_(a,3D),which were compared with the existing resistance calculation methods.Lastly,analysis of variance was carried out to reveal parameters that have statistically significant impacts on the R_(b,3D)and R_(a,3D).Results show that the rationality and accuracy of the correlation of R_(b,3D)and R_(a,3D)can be verified by the determination coefficient and P value of regression model,as well as the P value of lack-of-fit.The existing resistance calculation methods are more or less inaccurate and the discrepancies in some cases can be up to 86.74%and 111.35%for the borehole and total internal thermal resistance.The pipe and grout thermal conductivity,pipe and borehole diameter,and the pipe-pipe distance can be seen as the significant contributory factors to the variation of R_(b,3D)and R_(a,3D).Kun Zhou Jinfeng Mao Yong Li Hua Zhang Zhongkai Deng 2023Energy and Built Environment2023,4,2:0
12A semi-immobilized sulfur-rich copolymer backbone with conciliatory polymer skeleton and conductive substrates for high-performance Li-S batteries显示文摘Sulfur-rich polymers have gained a great deal of attention as the next-generation active materials in lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries due to their low cost,environmental compatibility,naturally sulfur uniform dispersion,and distinctive structure covalently bonding with sulfur atoms.However,the poor electrical conductivity and undesirable additional shuttle effect still hinder the commercial application of sulfur-rich polymers.Herein,we report a flexible semi-immobilization strategy to prepare allylterminated hyperbranched poly(ethyleneimine)-functionalized reduced graphene oxide(A-PEI-EGO)as sulfur-rich copolymer backbone.The semi-immobilization strategy can effectively reconcile the demand for polymer skeleton and conductive substrates through forming quaternary ammonium groups and reducing oxygen-containing functional groups,resulting in enhanced skeleton adsorption capacity and substrate electronic conductivity,respectively.Furthermore,the stable covalent bonding connection based on polymer molecules(A-PEI)not only completely prevents the additional shuttle effect of lithiation organic molecules and even sulfur-rich oligomers,but provides more inverse vulcanization active sites.As a result,the as-prepared A-PEI-EGO-S cathodes display an initial discharge capacity of1338 m A h g^(-1)at a rate of 0.1 C and an outstanding cycling stability of 0.046%capacity decay per cycle over 600 cycles.Even under 6.2 mg cm^(-2)S-loaded and sparing electrolyte of 6μL mg^(-1),the A-PEI-EGO-S cathode can also achieve a superior cycling performance of 98%capacity retention after 60 cycles,confirming its application potential.Tianpeng Zhang Zihui Song Jinfeng Zhang Wanyuan Jiang Runyue Mao Borui Li Siyang Liu Xigao Jian Fangyuan Hu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,6:0
