| 1 | The‘skin effect’of subsurface damage distribution in materials subjected to high-speed machining显示文摘This paper proposes the‘skin effect’of the machining-induced damage at high strain rates.The paper first reviews the published research work on machining-induced damage and then identifies the governing factors that dominate damage formation mechanisms.Among many influential factors,such as stress-strain field,temperature field,material responses to loading and loading rate,and crack initiation and propagation,strain rate is recognized as a dominant factor that can directly lead to the‘skin effect’of material damage in a loading process.The paper elucidates that material deformation at high strain rates(>103 s−1)leads to the embrittlement,which in turn contributes to the‘skin effect’of subsurface damage.The paper discusses the‘skin effect’based on the principles of dislocation kinetics and crack initiation and propagation.It provides guidance to predicting the material deformation and damage at a high strain-rate for applications ranging from the armor protection,quarrying,petroleum drilling,and high-speed machining of engineering materials(e.g.ceramics and SiC reinforced aluminum alloys). | Bi Zhang Jingfei Yin | 2019 | International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2019,1,1: | 11 |

| 4 | Formation of subsurface cracks in silicon wafers by grinding显示文摘Single-crystal silicon is an important material in the semiconductor and optical industries.However,being hard and brittle,a silicon wafer is vulnerable to subsurface cracks(SSCs)during grinding,which is detrimental to the performance and lifetime of a wafer product.Therefore,studying the formation of SSCs is important for optimizing SSC-removal processes and thus improving surface integrity.In this study,a statistical method is used to study the formation of SSCs induced during grinding of silicon wafers.The statistical results show that grinding-induced SSCs are not stochastic but anisotropic in their distributions.Generally,when grinding with coarse abrasive grains,SSCs form along the cleavage planes,primarily the{111}planes.However,when grinding with finer abrasive grains,SSCs tend to form along planes with a fracture-surface energy higher than that of the cleavage planes.These findings provide a guidance for the accurate detection of SSCs in ground silicon wafers. | Jingfei Yin Qian Bai Yinnan Li Bi Zhang | 2018 | Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering2018,1,3: | 3 |
| 5 | A Weighted Inner Product Estimator in the Geometric Algebra of Euclidean 3-Space for Source Localization Using an EM Vector-sensor显示文摘In this paper, the source localization by utilizing the measurements of a single electromagnetic (EM) vector-sensor is investigated in the framework of the geometric algebra of Euclidean 3-space. In order to describe the orthogonality among the electric and magnetic measurements, two multivectors of the geometric algebra of Euclidean 3-space (G3) are used to model the outputs of a spatially collocated EM vector-sensor. Two estimators for the wave propagation vector estimation are then formulated by the inner product between a vector and a bivector in the G3. Since the information used by the two estimators is different, a weighted inner product estimator is then proposed to fuse the two estimators together in the sense of the minimum mean square error (MMSE). Analytical results show that the statistical performances of the weighted inner product estimator are always better than its traditional cross product counterpart. | 6 | Enzyme-instructed and mitochondria-targeting peptide self-assembly to efficiently induce immunogenic cell death显示文摘Immunogenic cell death(ICD) plays a major role in cancer immunotherapy by stimulating specific T cell responses and restoring the antitumor immune system.However,effective type Ⅱ ICD inducers without biotoxicity are still very limited.Herein,a tentative drug-or photo sensitizer-free strategy was developed by employing enzymatic self-assembly of the peptide F-pY-T to induce mitochondrial oxidative stress in cancer cells.Upon dephosphorylation catalyzed by alkaline phosphatase overexpressed on cancer cells,the peptide F-pY-T self-assembled to form nanoparticles,which were subsequently internalized.These affected the morphology of mitochondria and induced serious reactive oxygen species production,causing the ICD characterized by the release of danger-associated molecular patterns(DAMPs).DAMPs enhanced specific immune responses by promoting the maturation of DCs and the intratumoral infiltration of tumor-specific T cells to eradicate tumor cells.The dramatic immunotherapeutic capacity could be enhanced further by combination therapy of F-pY-T and anti-PD-L1 agents without visible biotoxicity in the main organs.Thus,our results revealed an alternative strategy to induce efficient ICD by physically promoting mitochondrial oxidative stress. | Debin Zheng Jingfei Liu Limin Xie Yuhan Wang Yinghao Ding Rong Peng Min Cui Ling Wang Yongjie Zhang Chunqiu Zhang Zhimou Yang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,6: | 1 |

| 8 | Structure-guided manipulation of the regioselectivity of the cyclosporine A hydroxylase CYP-sb21 from Sebekia benihana显示文摘The cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP-sb21 from the rare actinomycete Sebekia benihana is capable of hydroxylating the immunosuppressive drug molecule cyclosporine A(CsA)primarily at the 4th N-methyl leucine(MeLeu4),giving rise toγ-hydroxy-N-methyl-L-Leu4-CsA(CsA-4-OH).This oxidative modification of CsA leads to dramatically reduced immunosuppressive activity while retaining the hair growth-promoting side-effect,thus demonstrating great application potential in both pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.However,this P450 enzyme also hydroxylates CsA at the unwanted position of the 9th N-methyl leucine(MeLeu9),indicating that the regioselectivity needs to be improved for the development of CsA-4-OH into a commercial hair growth stimulator.Herein,we report the crystal structure of CYP-sb21 in its substrate-free form at 1.85Å.Together with sequence and 3D structure comparisons,Autodock-based substrate docking,molecular dynamics(MD)simulation,and site-directed mutagenesis,we identified a number of key residues including R294,E264,and M179 that can improve catalytic efficiency or change the regioselectivity of CYP-sb21 towards CsA,setting the stage for better enzymatic preparation of CsA-4-OH.This study also provides new insights into the substrate recognition and binding mechanism of P450 enzymes that accommodate bulky substrates. | Fengwei Li Li Ma Xingwang Zhang Jingfei Chen Feifei Qi Yinyue Huang Zepeng Qu Lishan Yao Wei Zhang Eung-Soo Kim Shengying Li | 2020 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2020,5,3: | 1 |

In this study, by using the natural and cheap hydrotropic aminoacid proline--which has remarkably high solubility in water and a desirable Ncontent of -12.2 wt.%--as a C precursor pyrolyzed in the presence of a cubicKC1 template, we developed a facile protocol for the large-scale production ofN-doped C nanosheets with a hierarchically porous structure in a homogeneousdispersion. With concomitantly encapsulated and evenly spread Fe203 nano-particles surrounded by two protective ultrathin layers of inner Fe3C and outeronion-like C, the resuHing N-doped graphitic C nanosheet hybrids (FezOB@FeBC-NGCNs) exhibited a very high Li-storage capacity and excellent rate capabilitywith a reliable and prolonged cycle life. A reversible capacity as high as 857 mAh.g-1at a current density of 100 mA.g-1 was observed even after 100 cycles. Thecapacity retention at a current density 10 times higher--l,000 mA.g^-l--reached680 mAh·g^-1 which is 79% of that at 100 mA·g^-1, indicating that the hybridsare promising as anodes for advanced Li-ion batteries. | 12 | Tilt of primordial gravitational wave spectrum in a universe with sterile neutrinos显示文摘In this work,we constrain the spectral index ntof the primordial gravitational wave power spectrum in a universe with sterile neutrinos by using the Planck temperature data,the WMAP 9-year polarization data,the baryon acoustic oscillation data,and the BICEP2 data.We call this model theΛCDM+r+νs+ntmodel.The additional massive sterile neutrino species can significantly relieve the tension between the Planck and BICEP2 data,and thus can reduce the possible effects of this tension on the fit results of nt.To constrain the parameters of sterile neutrino,we also utilize the Hubble constant direct measurement data,the Planck Sunyaev-Zeldovich cluster counts data,the Planck CMB lensing data,and the cosmic shear data.We find that due to the fact that the BICEP2 data are most sensitive to the multipole~150 corresponding to k~0.01 Mpc-1,there exists a strong anticorrelation between ntand r0.002in the BICEP2 data,and this further results in a strongly blue-tilt spectrum.However,a slightly red-tilt tensor power spectrum is also allowed by the BICEP2 data in the region with larger value of r0.002.By using the full data sets,we obtain meffν,sterile=0.48+0.11-0.13eV,Neff=3.73+0.34-0.37,and nt=0.96+0.48-0.63for theΛCDM+r+νs+ntmodel. | Li YunHe ZHANG JingFei ZHANG Xin | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,8: | 1 |

| 15 | Research on the feasibility of storage and estimation model of storage capacity of CO_(2)in fissures of coal mine old goaf显示文摘The concept of the carbon cycle in the old goaf of a coal mine based on CO_(2)utilization and storage was put forward adhering to the principle of low-carbon development,utilization of space resources in old goafs,and associated gas resources development.Firstly,the evolution characteristics of overburden fissures in the goaf of the case was studied using a two-dimensional physical similarity simulation test,the sealing performance of the caprocks after stabilization was analyzed,and the fissures were counted and classi-fied.Then,the process of gaseous CO_(2)injection in the connected fissure was simulated by Ansys Fluent software,and the migration law and distribution characteristics of CO_(2)under the condition of gaseous CO_(2)injection were analyzed.Finally,the estimation models of free CO_(2)storage capacity in the old goaf were constructed considering the proportion of connected fissure and the effectiveness of CO_(2)injection.The CO_(2)storage capacity in the old goaf of the case coal mine was estimated.The results showed that a caprock group of“hard-thickness low-permeability hard-thickness”was formed after the caprock-fissures system in the goaf of the case tended to be stable vertically.The connected fissure,occlude cracks,and micro-fractures in the goaf accounted for 85.5%,8.5%,and 6%of the total fissures,respectively.Gaseous CO_(2)first migrated to the bottom of the connected fissure after CO_(2)was injected into the goaf,then spread horizontally along the bottom of the connected fissure after reaching the bottom,and finally spread longitudinally after filling the bottom of the entire connected fissure.The theoretical and effective storage capacities of free CO_(2)at normal temperature and pressure in the old goaf of the case were 9757 and 7477 t,respectively.The effective storage capacity of free CO_(2)at normal temperature and pressure in the old goaf after all minefield mined was 193404 t.The research can provide some reference for the coal mining industry to help the goal of“carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”. | Yang Ding Shugang Li Bing Zhu Haifei Lin Jingfei Zhang Junhong Tan Wenbin Chen | 2023 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,6: | 1 |

| 18 | The heterochronic gene Oryza sativa LIKE HETEROCHROMATIN PROTEIN 1 modulates miR156b/c/i/e levels显示文摘The juvenile-to-adult transition in plants involves changes in vegetative growth and plant architecture;the timing of this transition has important implications for agriculture.The microRNA miR156 regulates this transition and shoot maturation in plants.In Arabidopsis thaliana,deposition of histone H3 trimethylation on lysine 27(H3K27me3,a repressive mark)at the MIR156A/C loci is regulated by Polycomb Repressive Complex 1(PRC1)or PRC2,depending on the developmental stage.The levels of miR156 progressively decline during shoot maturation.The amount of H3K27me3 at MIR156A/C loci affects miR156 levels;however,whether this epigenetic regulation is conserved remains unclear.Here,we found that in rice(Oryza sativa),the putative PRC1 subunit LIKE HETEROCHROMATIN PROTEIN 1(OsLHP1),with the miR156–SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)module,affects developmental phase transitions.Loss of OsLHP1 function results in ectopic expression of MIR156B/C/I/E,phenocopy of miR156 overexpression,and reduced H3k27me3 levels at MIR156B/C/I/E.This indicates that OsLHP1 has functionally diverged from Arabidopsis LHP1.Genetic and transcriptome analyses of wild-type,miR156b/c-overexpression,and Oslhp1-2 mutant plants suggest that OsLHP1 acts upstream of miR156 and SPL during the juvenile-to-adult transition.Therefore,modifying the OsLHP1–miR156–SPL pathway may enable alteration of the vegetative period and plant architecture. | Yongtao Cui Jingfei Cheng Shuang Ruan Peipei Qi Wei Liu Hongwu Bian Luhuan Ye Yuping Zhang Jiang Hu Guojun Dong Longbiao Guo Yijing Zhang Qian Qian d Xingming Hu | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,12: | 0 |
