| 1 | A stringent dual control system overseeing transcription and activity of the Cre recombinase for the liver-specific conditional gene knock-out mouse model显示文摘Liver cancer is one of the most threatening diseases in Chinese population. Just like in other tissues, tumor initiation and development in liver involve multiple steps of genetic and epigenetic alterations with several unknown details. However, unlike in other tissues, a tis-sue specific inducible Cre recombinase system that allows temporal and spatial deletion of a target DNA fragment is still not available for in vivo functional gene annotation in hepatocytes. In our pursuit to establish such a mouse model, we designed a dual inducible Cre transgene system and tested it in cultured cells. | 3 | Memantine combined with environmental enrichment improves spatial memory and alleviates Alzheimer's disease-like pathology in senescence-accelerated prone-8(SAMP8) mice显示文摘Memantine is a N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA) receptor antagonist approved for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease(AD).Environmental enrichment(EE) has shown significant beneficial effects on functional improvement in AD.In this study,we sought to determine whether combining these two distinct therapies would yield greater benefit than either drug used alone.We investigated the effect of memantine combined with EE on spatial learning and memory and AD-like pathology in a widely used AD model,the senescence-accelerated prone mice(SAMP8).The SAMP8 mice were randomly assigned to enriched housing(EH) or standard housing(SH),where either memantine(20 mg/kg) or saline was given by gastric lavage once daily continuously for eight weeks.Our results showed that,when provided separately,memantine and EE significantly improved spatial learning and memory by shortening escape latencies and increasing the frequency of entrance into the target quadrant.When combined,memantine and EE showed additive effect on learning and memory as evidenced by significant shorter escape latencies and higher frequency of target entrance than either drug alone.Consistent with the behavior results,pathological studies showed that both memantine and EE significantly reduced hippocampal CA1 neurofibrilliary tangles(NFTs) as well as amyloid beta precursor protein(APP) levels.Combining both therapies synergistically lessened NFTs and APP expression compared to either drug alone in SAMP8 mice,indicating that the combination of memantine with EE could offer a novel and efficient therapeutic strategy for the treatment of AD. | Jingde Dong Mi Zhou Xiaoqiang Wu Mingyang Du Xiaoshan Wang | 2012 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,6: | 2 |
| 4 | ZIF-7@carbon composites as multifunctional interlayer for rapid and durable Li-S performance显示文摘The notorious'shuttle effect'of polysulfide during charge-discharge process induces grievous capacity fading,while the sluggish polysulfide conversion kinetics significantly hinders the development of practically viable lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries.In this study,a novel ZIF-7@carbon composite with ZIF-7 sheets vertically rooted on carbon cloth was developed as multifunctional interlayer to address these issues.The composite shows directional layered structure with outstanding compactness,and thus can provide massive active sites for accelerated redox reactions.The pore channels are perpendicular to the square surface,resulting in extremely high utilization of one-dimensional channels.Therefore,this structure can not only maintain the structural stability during the charge-discharge process by providing enough space for volume expansion,but also contribute to efficient exposure and utilization of active sites for the physical/chemical adsorption and catalytic conversion of polysulfide.As a result,Li-S batteries with the as-developed interlayer deliver a considerable areal capacity of 4.75 mAh cm^(-2) at an elevated sulfur loading of 5.5 mg cm^(-2),and an impressive cyclability with an extremely low capacity-fading rate of merely 0.04%per cycle over 500 cycles at 1 C. | Xingbo Wang Yan Zhao Feichao Wu Shuming Liu Zisheng Zhang Zhaoyang Tan Xiaohang Du Jingde Li | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6: | 2 |
| 5 | An orderly arranged dual-role MIL-53(Al)nanorods array rooted on carbon nanotube film for long-life and stable lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘It is of great value to synchronously resolve the critical issues of the polysulfide shuttle and dendrite growth in lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries.Herein,a bifunctional Al-based Material of Institute Lavoisier-53(MIL-53(Al))/carbon nanotube(MIL-53/CNT)composite is reported for this matter,which was constructed by growing an ordered MIL-53(Al)nanorods array on the CNT film.For the sulfur cathode,the proposed structure serves as a multifunctional interlayer to block polysulfides and accelerate their catalytic conversion,thus efficaciously inhibiting the shuttle effect.Meanwhile,when applied as the anode host material(Li@MIL-53/CNT),the flexible CNT film serves as a self-standing framework to accommodate Li metal and alleviate the volume expansion,while the uniform ion channels built by the MIL-53(Al)nanorods array along with the abundant oxygen groups can homogenize Li ion diffusion,enabling a steady Li plating/stripping behavior and limiting the dendrite growth.Not surprisingly,Li-S full battery with MIL-53/CNT interlayer and Li@MIL-53/CNT anode delivers an appreciable specific capacity of 735 mAh·g^(–1)and excellent cycle durability at 5 C,presenting a limited capacity decay of 0.03%per cycle in 500 cycles.Besides,an impressive cycle stability and rate capability are also achieved at high-sulfur loading and lean electrolyte conditions. | Feichao Wu Quanqing Li Gaofeng Jin Yuhong Luo Xiaohang Du Jingde Li Zisheng Zhang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 1 |

| 11 | Baseline susceptibility of Helicoverpa armigera,Plutella xylostella,and Spodoptera frugiperda to the meta-diamide insecticide broflanilide显示文摘Broflanilide is a novel meta-diamide insecticide that acts as a y-aminobutyric acid-gated chloride channel allosteric modulator.With its unique mode of action,broflanilide has no known cross-resistance with existing insecticides and is expected to be an effective tool for the management of insecticide resistance.Establishing the base-line susceptibility to this insecticide is an essential step for developing and implementing effective resistance management strategies.Here we evaluated the baseline susceptibil-ity to broflanilide for 3 cosmopolitan lepidopteran pest species,Helicoverpa armigera,Plutella xylostella,and Spodoptera frugiperda.Broflanilide exhibited high activity against populations sampled in the major distribution range of these pests in China,with median lethal concentrations(LCso)ranging between 0.209 and 0.684,0.076 and 0.336,and 0.075 and 0.219 mg/L for H.armigera,P xylostella,and S.frugiperda,respectively.Among-population variability in susceptibility to broflanilide was moderate for H.armigera(3.3-fold),P xylostella(4.4-fold),and S.frugiperda(2.9-fold).The recommended diagnostic concentrations for H.armigera,P xylostella,and S.frugiperda were 8,4,and 2 mg/L,re-spectively.Little or no cross-resistance to broflanilide was detected in 3 diamide-resistant strains of P xylostella and 1 spinosyns-resistant strain of S.frugiperda.Our results provide critical information for the development of effective resistance management programs to sustain efficacy of broflanilide against these key lepidopteran pests. | Xingliang Wang Tailong Shi Ping Tang Shengnan Liu Bofeng Hou Dong Jiang Jingde Lu Yihua Yang Yves Carriere Yidong Wu | 2023 | Insect Science2023,30,4: | 0 |
