1Ca^(2+)-supplying black phosphorus-based scaffolds fabricated with microfluidic technology for osteogenesis显示文摘Effective osteogenesis remains a challenge in the treatment of bone defects.The emergence of artificial bone scaffolds provides an attractive solution.In this work,a new biomineralization strategy is proposed to facilitate osteogenesis through sustaining supply of nutrients including phosphorus(P),calcium(Ca),and silicon(Si).We developed black phosphorus(BP)-based,three-dimensional nanocomposite fibrous scaffolds via microfluidic technology to provide a wealth of essential ions for bone defect treatment.The fibrous scaffolds were fabricated from 3D poly(L-lactic acid)(PLLA)nanofibers(3D NFs),BP nanosheets,and hydroxyapatite(HA)-porous SiO2 nanoparticles.The 3D BP@HA NFs possess three advantages:i)stably connected pores allow the easy entrance of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)into the interior of the 3D fibrous scaffolds for bone repair and osteogenesis;ii)plentiful nutrients in the NFs strongly improve osteogenic differentiation in the bone repair area;iii)the photothermal effect of fibrous scaffolds promotes the release of elements necessary for bone formation,thus achieving accelerated osteogenesis.Both in vitro and in vivo results demonstrated that the 3D BP@HA NFs,with the assistance of NIR laser,exhibited good performance in promoting bone regeneration.Furthermore,microfluidic technology makes it possible to obtain high-quality 3D BP@HA NFs with low costs,rapid processing,high throughput and mass production,greatly improving the prospects for clinical application.This is also the first BP-based bone scaffold platform that can self-supply Ca^(2+),which may be the blessedness for older patients with bone defects or patients with damaged bones as a result of calcium loss.Zhanrong Li Xingcai Zhang Jiang Ouyang Dandan Chu Fengqi Han Liuqi Shi Ruixing Liu Zhihua Guo Grace X.Gu Wei Tao Lin Jin Jingguo Li 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,11:4
2Thermal Analysis of a Novel Oil Cooled Piston Using a Fluid-Solid Interaction Method显示文摘Thermal load has a vital influence on the normal operation and service life of diesel engines.In this study,the thermal load and oil-cooling effect on diesel engine pistons were investigated by means of computational fluid dynamics.In particular,the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the cooling gallery were determined during the oscillation of the piston.Moreover,the temperature field distribution of the piston with and without the cooling gallery were compared.The results revealed that the cooling gallery has a prominent effect on reducing the thermal load on the piston crown and piston lands.To fully understand the oscillating heat transfer effect related to the cooling gallery and verify the accuracy of the calculation,the numerical results were also compared with temperature values experimentally measured at key positions of the piston.The measurements were found to be consistent with the calculation results within an acceptable error range,which proves the rationality and accuracy of the mathematical and numerical models used.Dehui Tong Shunshun Qin Jingguo Lin Jingyang Sun Yuping Hu 2021Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2021,17,4:3
3Establishment of Self-incompatibility Gene cDNA Microarray to Identify S-genotypes of Pyrus pyrifolia显示文摘Based on the c DNA sequences from hyper variable(HV) regions of identified 52 S-alleles in Oriental pear cultivars, S-RNase c DNA probes were designed, and a c DNA microarray for S-RNase detections was established. Each microarray contained 240 sites from 55 c DNA probes, including all specific c DNA sequences from the HV regions of the S-alleles. Using the c DNA of pistils of tested pear cultivars as template and Cy3 fluorescently labeling primers by PCR amplification, microarray hybridization detected the S-genotype of each pear cultivar. The genotypes inferred from the c DNA microarray hybridization signals of pear cultivars such as ‘Lijiang Huangsuanli', ‘Xiuyu', ‘Midu Yuli', ‘Baimianli', and ‘Deshengxiang' were similar to the known genotypes of all tested cultivars. The S-RNase c DNA microarrays and the oligonucleotide gene chips were then used to conduct parallel testing of 24 P. pyrifolia cultivars with unknown S-genotypes. 6Reduction-sensitive nanomicelles:Delivery celastrol for retinoblastoma cells effective apoptosis显示文摘Celastrol,a Chinese herbal medicine,has exhibited anticancer activity in many types of cancer cells.However,the further clinical application of celastrol is restricted by its poor water solubility and serious side effects.Furthermore,the apoptosis mechanism of tumor cells induced by celastrol has not been exhausted yet.In this study,we developed a reduction sensitive polymeric vector for tumor-targeted celastrol delivery.And our researches indicated that the celastrol could be delivered by reductionsensitive nanomedicine(RSNMs)with a controlled release strategy.Meanwhile,the cell uptake results indicated that excellent reduction-sensitive behavior of RSNMs could effectively accelerate celastrol into the human retinoblastoma(RB)cell.The cell cytotoxicity assay demonstrated that celastrol inhibited proliferation of human RB Y79 cells growth in a dose-dependent manner.Furthermore,the results of flow cytometry and terminal dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL)staining showed that celastrol induced apoptosis of the RB Y79 cells,and revealed a time-dependent increase in apoptosis induction of RB Y79 cells.The results of western blotting showed that celastrol induced the apoptosis of human RB Y79 cells involving the activation of caspase-3 and caspase-9.In conclusion,our results revealed that RSNMs may be utilized as a novel therapy for retinoblastoma.Zhihua Guo Liuqi Shi Huayang Feng Fan Yang Zhanrong Li Junjie Zhang Lin Jin Jingguo Li 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,3:1
7Early application of nerve growth factor affects serum inflammatory cytokine levels in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy显示文摘BACKGROUND: It has been demonstrated that there are changes of various cytokines, chemokines and adhesion factors in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). What are the changes of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in serum of HIE neonates. OBJECTIVE: To observe the dynamic changes of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in peripheral serum at different time after HIE in neonates, and analyze the possible therapeutic efficacy of early application of NGF. DESIGN: A non-randomized controlled observation synchronically. SETTING: Department of Neonatology, Sun Yat-sen Hospital affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University. PARTICIPANTS: Sixty neonates with HIE were selected from the Department of Neonatology, Sun Yat-sen Hospital affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University from January 2004 to October 2006, including 32 boys and 28 girls, who were all accorded with the diagnostic standards for moderate to severe HIE. The neonates were divided into two groups NGF-treated group (n =30), HIE group (n =30). The HIE neonates in the NGF-treated group were given routine treatment and intramuscular injection of NGF within 24 hours after birth. Those in the HIE group were given routine treatments. Meanwhile, 30 apneic normal neonates (17 boys and 13 girls) at the same period were selected as the control group. The gestational age was 37–42 weeks in all the three groups, the body mass at birth was 2 500–4 000 g. Informed contents were obtained from the relatives of all the enrolled neonates. METHODS: The HIE neonates in the NGF-treated group were given routine treatment and intramuscular injection of NGF (2 000 U) within 24 hours after birth, once a day, 10 days as a course. Those in the HIE group were given routine treatments. Blood samples (3 mL) were drawn from femoral vein in all the neonates 1, 3 and 7 days after birth. The levels of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in serum were detected with enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Serum levels of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth. RESULTS: All the 60 HIE neonates and 30 normal neonates were involved in the final analysis of results. ① Serum level of interleukin-6: The serum levels of interleukin-6 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the HIE group were all lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05), and gradually recovered to the normal level as time prolonged. The serum levels of interleukin-6 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the NGF-treated group were higher than those in the HIE group (P < 0.05). ②Serum level of interleukin-18: The serum levels of interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the HIE group were all higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05), especially that at 3 days. The serum levels of interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the NGF-treated group were lower than those in the HIE group (P < 0.05). 8Scalable synthesized high-performance TiO_(2)-Si-C hybrid anode for lithium batteries显示文摘At present,developing a simple strategy to effectively solve the shackles of volume expansion,poor conductivity and interface compatibility faced by Si-C anode in lithium batteries(LIBs)is the key to its commercialization.Here,low-cost nano-Si powders were prepared from Si-waste of solar-cells by sanding treatment,which can effectively reduce the commercialization cost for Si-C anode.Furthermore,micro-nano structured Gr@Si/C/TiO_(2) anode materials with graphite(Gr)as the inner core,TiO_(2)-doped and carbon-coated Si as the outer coating-layer,were synthesized at kilogram-scale per milling batch.Comprehensive characterization results indicate that TiO_(2)-doped carbon layer can improve the interface compatibility with the electrolyte,further promote the reduction of electrode polarization,and finally enhance the battery performance for the Gr@Si/C/TiO_(2) anodes.Accordingly,Gr@Si/C/TiO_(2) composites can output excellent LIB performance,especially with high initial coulombic efficiency(ICE)of 82.51%and large average reversible capacity of~810 mA h g^(-1) at 0.8 A g^(-1) after 1000 cycles.Moreover,Gr@Si/C/TiO_(2)‖NCM811 pouch full cells deliver impressive performance especially with high energy density of~489.3 W h kg^(-1) based on the total weight of active materials,suggesting its promising application in the high performance LIBs.Liao Shen Chengjie Xu Jingguo Gao Jianming Tao Qiaobao Zhang Yue Chen Yingbin Lin Zhigao Huang Jiaxin Li 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,2:0
9Easily Obtaining Excellent Performance High-voltage LiCoO_(2)via Pr_(6)O_(11)Modification显示文摘Developing an effective method to synthesize high-performance high-voltage LiCoO_(2) is essential for its industrialization in lithium batteries(LIBs).This work proposes a simple mass-produced strategy for the first time,that is,negative temperature coefficient thermosensitive Pr_(6)O_(11) nanoparticles are uniformly modified on LiCoO_(2) to prepare LiCoO_(2)@Pr_(6)O_(11)(LCO@PrO)via a liquid-phase mixing combined with annealing method.Tested at 274 mA g−1,the modified LCO@PrO electrodes deliver excellent 4.5 V high-voltage cycling performance with capacity retention ratios of 90.8%and 80.5%at 25 and 60℃,being much larger than those of 22.8%and 63.2%for bare LCO electrodes.Several effective strategies were used to clearly unveil the performance enhancement mechanism induced by Pr_(6)O_(11) modification.It is discovered that Pr_(6)O_(11) can improve interface compatibility,exhibit improved conductivity at elevated temperature,thus enhance the Li^(+)diffusion kinetics,and suppress the phase transformation of LCO and its resulting mechanical stresses.The 450 mAh LCO@PrO‖graphite pouch cells show excellent LIB performance and improved thermal safety characteristics.Importantly,the energy density of such pouch cell was increased even by~42%at 5 C.This extremely convenient technology is feasible for producing high-energy density LIBs with negligible cost increase,undoubtedly providing important academic inspiration for industrialization.Yongcong Huang Chenjie Xu Jingguo Gao Liao Shen Qian Liu Guiying Zhao Qingshui Xie Yingbin Lin Jiaxin Li Zhigao Huang 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,2:0
