1Polymorphisms in PPARD,PPARG and APM1 associated with four types of Traditional Chinese Medicine constitutions显示文摘Based on the theory of constitution of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the human population is divided into nine constitutions including one balanced constitution (Normality) and eight unbalanced constitutions (Yang-deficiency, Yin-deficiency, Phlegm-wetness, Qi-deficiency, Wetness-heat, Blood stasis, Depressed constitution, and Inherited special constitution). Different constitutions have specific metabolic features and different susceptibility to certain diseases. However, whether a genetic basis accounts for such constitution classifica-tion is yet to be determined. Here we performed a genetic study to assess the association between genetic variations of metabolic genes in-cluding PPARD, PPARG and APM1 and the constitutions. A total of 233 individuals of the Han population in China were classified into four groups, Normality, Yang-deficiency, Yin-deficiency and Phlegm-wetness with whom 23 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the three genes were genotyped using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. Biased distri-bution of PPARD rs2267669 and rs2076167, APM1 rs7627128 and rs1063539 in Yang-deficiency, PPARG Pro12Ala in Yin-deficiency and PPARD rs2076167, APM1 rs266729 and rs7627128 in Phlegm-wetness were observed. The frequencies of Haplotype13 (Hap13) of PPARG in Yin-deficiency, Hap25 of APM1 in Yang-deficiency and Hap2 of PPARD and Hap14 of PPARG in Phlegm-wetness, were significantly different from those in Normality, suggesting those might be group-associated haplotypes. 2Effects of high pressure on the microstructure and hardness of a Cu-Zn alloy显示文摘The microstructure of a Cu-Zn alloy treated under different high pressures was investigated by means of metallographic, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), and the hardness of the Cu-Zn alloy was also measured. The results show that the α phase with a smaller grain size, different shapes, and random distribution appears in the Cu-Zn alloy during the solid-state phase transformation generation in the temperature range of 25-750°C and the pressure range of 0-6 GPa. The amount of residual α phase in the microstructure decreases and then increases with increasing pressure. Under a high pressure of 3 GPa, the least volume fraction of residual α phase was obtained, and under a high pressure of 6 GPa, the changes of the microstructure of the Cu-Zn alloy were not obvious. 4Leonurine protects ischemia-induced brain injury via modulating SOD, MDA and GABA levels显示文摘The present study was designed to investigate the protective effects of leonurine, a compound purified from Herba Leonuri that is active on ischemic rat behavior and cortical neurons, and explore the underlying mechanism. The general rat activity, cortical neuron morphology, superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA),γ- aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glutamate decarboxylase 67 (GAD67) levels were measured. We found leonurine significantly improve the general activity of rats in an opefield test, which was associated with attenuated neuronal damage induced by ischemia. Moreover, serum SOD activity was significantly greater, MDA level lower in the leonurine group as compared with ischemia group. In addition, GABA content in the cerebral cortex was significantly greater in high-dose leonurine group. Correspondingly, GAD67 protein level coincided with the GABA level. 6Fe_3O_4@C nanoparticles as high-performance Fenton-like catalyst for dye decoloration显示文摘Water pollution has become serious environmental problem nowadays. Advanced oxidation processes(AOP) have been widely applied in water treatment.However, traditional Fenton reaction based on Fe2﹢-H2O2 system has obvious drawbacks, which limit its applications In this study, magnetic Fe3O4core-C shell nanoparticles(Fe3O4@C NPs) were prepared for the decoloration of methylene blue(MB) via the co-precipitation followed by the hydrothermal dehydrogenation of glucose. Fe3O4@C NPs showed high catalytic activity of the decoloration of MB through the decomposition of H2O2 in Fenton-like reactions. Fe3O4@C NPs had much higher activity than bare Fe3O4 cores, suggesting the coating of carbon enhanced the catalytic activity. The performance of Fe3O4@C NPs was better at lower pH and higher temperature, but was significantly inhibited in the presence of radical scavenger tertiary butanol. Fe3O4@C NPs could be magnetic separated and regenerated, and maintained with very good catalytic activity. 7Low/distortion on Exterior Surface of Auto Body and Its Correction Method显示文摘Surface low/distortion is one of the most challenging surface deflections that have a great effect on the exterior appearance of automobiles.Most studies on surface distortion/deflection have focused on evaluation and visualization techniques,the research work on correction or prevention of surface low/distortion is limited,and there is no perfect surface low/distortion corrective method that can satisfy the needs of the engineering.A B-spline based geometry morphing algorithm is proposed and then a new program based on UG-NX platform is developed to modify the die face in the surface low/distortion areas.To verify this developed system,the experimental dies that can replicate the surface low/distortion phenomenon successfully is put to use.Five geometric variables are introduced to describe the basic geometry of typical depression features of automotive outer panels.The experimental dies are then designed to reflect various combinations of these geometric parameters.The stamping experiments are conducted on cold rolled grade 5(CR5) sheet steel and various static measurements,such as oil-stoning,laser scanner,etc,are performed to measure and record the surface low/distortions.Three approaches including good bearing,holds in blank and die face morphing that aim to correct low/distortions are tried out and surface low/distortions are observed in the specimen with reverse draw depth of 10 mm.The measurement results show that die morphing is a practical and effective method to correct the surface low/distortion.The correction method proposed can be used to minimize the occurrence of surface low/distortion in die manufacturing,which has certain reference significance to the correction of surface low/distortion.HU Ping BAO Jingru ZHAO Kunmin 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,2:7

9CL and FTIR analysis on the diamonds in Wafangdian, Liaoning Province显示文摘The CL images show that the internal structures of the diamonds in Wafangdian, Liaoning Province is classified as three types: simple growth girdle zone, multi-stage growth complex girdle zone, and rare agate-like structure. These internal features reflect the complexity of growth processes of the diamonds. The FTIR analyses in micro area on diamond plates reveal the heterogeneity of the impurities of nitrogen and hydrogen. The variety of nitrogen contents and nitrogen aggregation states have been revealed not only in different diamonds from one kimberlite pipe but also in different zones of one diamond. The extent of conversion A defects to the aggregated B form is a function of the nitrogen aggregation temperature (TNA), mantle residence time (tMR), and nitrogen concentration of diamond. The interval of 0.6-0.7Ga from core to rim of diamond growth is obtained by using the FTIR curves and some geological data. 10Anaerobic oxidation of methane coupled to sulfate reduction: Consortium characteristics and application in co-removal of H_2S and methane显示文摘Anaerobic sludge from a sewage treatment plant was used to acclimatize microbial colonies capable of anaerobic oxidation of methane(AOM) coupled to sulfate reduction. Clone libraries and fluorescence in situ hybridization were used to investigate the microbial population.Sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB)(e.g., Desulfotomaculum arcticum and Desulfobulbus propionicus)and anaerobic methanotrophic archaea(ANME)(e.g., Methanosaeta sp. and Methanolinea sp.)coexisted in the enrichment. The archaeal and bacterial cells were randomly or evenly distributed throughout the consortia. Accompanied by sulfate reduction, methane was oxidized anaerobically by the consortia of methane-oxidizing archaea and SRB. Moreover, CH_4 and SO_4^(2-) were consumed by methanotrophs and sulfate reducers with CO_2 and H_2S as products. The H_3CSH produced by methanotrophy was an intermediate product during the process. The methanotrophic enrichment was inoculated in a down-flow biofilter for the treatment of methane and H_2S from a landfill site. On average, 93.33% of H_2S and 10.71% of methane was successfully reduced in the biofilter. 11Migration capacity of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells towards glioma in vivo显示文摘High-grade glioma is the most common malignant primary brain tumor in adults.The poor prognosis of glioma,combined with a resistance to currently available treatments,necessitates the development of more effective tumor-selective therapies.Stem cell-based therapies are emerging as novel cell-based delivery vehicle for therapeutic agents.In the present study,we successfully isolated human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells by explant culture.The human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells were adherent to plastic surfaces,expressed specific surface phenotypes of mesenchymal stem cells as demonstrated by flow cytometry,and possessed multi-differentiation potentials in permissive induction media in vitro.Furthermore,human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells demonstrated excellent glioma-specific targeting capacity in established rat glioma models after intratumoral injection or contralateral ventricular administration in vivo.The excellent glioma-specific targeting ability and extensive intratumoral distribution of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells indicate that they may serve as a novel cellular vehicle for delivering therapeutic molecules in glioma therapy.Cungang Fan Dongliang Wang Qingjun Zhang Jingru Zhou 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,22:5
12Based on the Theory of Five Yun Six Qi to Study the Clinical Effect of Chaigui Decoction on Jueyin Type Hypertension显示文摘[Objectives]To study the clinical effect of Chaigui decoction(CGD)on Jueyin type hypertension based on the theory of Five Yun Six Qi.[Methods]52 patients with Jueyin type hypertension in Wuxi Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine from January,2020 to March,2021 were randomly divided into Western medicine control group(18 cases)and CGD group(34 cases).CGD group was treated with CGD,while the control group was treated with irbesartan or amlodipine.[Results]After treatment,the systolic blood pressure(SBP)of the two groups decreased significantly,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the diastolic blood pressure(DBP)of CGD group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).[Conclusions]Based on the theory of Five Yun Six Qi,CGD has significant effect on Jueyin type hypertension,and the effect of reducing DBP is better than that of Western medicine control group.Jingru GAO Hongjun ZHU Han YAN Xiaohai HU Yuanchun YAO 2021Medicinal Plant2021,12,3:4
13Overexpressed Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins are responsible for the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitor in breast cancer that can be reversed by PI3K/mTOR inhibitors显示文摘CDK4/6 inhibitors are the standard treatment in advanced HR+/HER2-breast cancer patients.Nevertheless,the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors is inevitable and the strategies to overcome resistance are of great interest.Here,we show that the palbociclibresistant breast cancer cells expressed significantly higher levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins because of upregulated protein synthesis.Silencing Cyclin D1 or CDK4 led to cell cycle arrest while silencing Cyclin E1 or CDK2 restored the sensitivity to palbociclib.Furthermore,PI3K/mTOR pathway was hyper-activated in palbociclib-resistant cells,leading to more phosphorylated 4E-BP1 and higher levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4 translation.Targeting PI3K/mTOR pathway with a specific PI3Kαinhibitor(BYL719)or an mTOR inhibitor(everolimus)reduced the protein levels of Cyclin D1 and CDK4,and restored the sensitivity to palbociclib.The tumor samples expressed significantly higher levels of Cyclin D1,CDK4,p-AKT and p-4E-BP1 after progression on palbociclib treatment.In conclusion,our findings suggest that overexpressed Cyclin D1 and CDK4 proteins lead to the resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitor and PI3K/mTOR inhibitors are able to restore the sensitivity to CDK4/6 inhibitors,which provides the biomarker and rationale for the combinational use of CDK4/6 inhibitors and PI3K/mTOR inhibitors after CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance in breast cancer.Zijie Cai Jingru Wang Yudong Li Qianfeng Shi Liang Jin Shunying Li Mengdi Zhu Qi Wang Lok Lam Wong Wang Yang Hongna Lai Chang Gong Yandan Yao Yujie Liu Jun Zhang Herui Yao Qiang Liu 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,1:4
14Hierarchical structure observation and nanoindentation size effect characterization for a limnetic shell显示文摘In the present research, hierarchical structure observation and mechanical property characterization for a type of biomaterial are carried out. The investigated biomaterial is Hyriopsis cumingii, a typical limnetic shell, which consists of two different structural layers, a prismatic 'pillar'structure and a nacreous 'brick and mortar' structure. The prismatic layer looks like a 'pillar forest' with variationsection pillars sized on the order of several tens of microns.The nacreous material looks like a 'brick wall' with bricks sized on the order of several microns. Both pillars and bricks are composed of nanoparticles. The mechanical properties of the hierarchical biomaterial are measured by using the nanoindentation test. Hardness and modulus are measured for both the nacre layer and the prismatic layer, respectively.The nanoindentation size effects for the hierarchical structural materials are investigated experimentally. The results show that the prismatic nanostructured material has a higher stiffness and hardness than the nacre nanostructured material.In addition, the nanoindentation size effects for the hierarchical structural materials are described theoretically, by using the trans-scale mechanics theory considering both strain gradient effect and the surface/interface effect. 16Photosynthetic acclimation to long-term high temperature and soil drought stress in two spruce species (Picea crassifolia and P. wilsonii) used for afforestation显示文摘Picea crassifolia and P.wilsonii,commonly used for afforestation in northern China,are increasingly likely to be subjected to high temperatures and soil drought stress as a result of global warming.However,little is known about the effects of these stresses on foliar photosynthesis in the two species.To investigate how photosynthetic characteristics and sensitivity respond to prolonged high temperatures and soil drought,foliar gas exchange and other closely related parameters were recorded from four-year-old seedlings of both species.Seedlings were grown under two temperature treatments(25/15 and 35/25 °C) and four soil water regimes [80,60,40 and 20% of maximum field capacity(FC)] for 4 months.Although all treatments significantly reduced photosynthetic rates(P_n) of both species,P.crassifolia exhibited greater photosynthetic acclimation than P.wilsonii.Differences in photosynthetic acclimation were mainly related to variations in stomatal conductance(Cond) and the maximum quantum yield of PSII(F_v/F_m) between treatments.Indeed,higher Cond and F_v/F_m in all treatments were shown for P.crassifolia than for P.wilsonii.Moreover,photosynthesis in P.crassifolia exhibited inherently lower temperature sensitivities(broader span for the temperature response curves; lower b) and higher thermostability(invariable b between treatments).Further,severe drought stress(20% FC) limited the survival of P.wilsonii.Our results indicate that P.wilsonii is more susceptible to high temperatures and soil drought stress.Planting P.crassifolia would be more expected to survive these conditions and hence be of greater benefit to forest stability if predicted increases in drought and temperature in northern China occur.Xiaowei Zhang Litong Chen Jingru Wang Minghao Wang Shuli Yang Changming Zhao 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,2:4

18LiPO_(2)F_(2) electrolyte additive for high-performance Li-rich cathode material显示文摘Li-rich layered oxide cathodes have received considerable attention because of the high operating potential and specific capacity. However, the structural instability and parasitic reactions at high potential cause severe degradation of the electrochemical performance. In our studies, the cycling stability of Li_(1.14)Ni_(0.133)Co_(0.133)Mn_(0.544)O_(2) cathode is improved with LiPO_(2)F_(2) electrolyte additive. After 500 cycles, the capacity retention is increased from 53.6% to 85% at 3 C by LiPO_(2)F_(2) modification. This performance is mainly attributed to the enhanced interfacial stability of the Li-rich cathode. Based on systematic characterization, LiPO_(2)F_(2) additive was found to promote a stable interface film on the cathode surface during the cycling and mitigates the interfacial side reactions. 19TiO_2-doped Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles as high-performance Fenton-like catalyst for dye decoloration显示文摘Fenton reaction based on Fe2+-H2O2 system has been widely applied in water remediation, but the obvious drawbacks largely hinder its practical uses. Alternatively, heterogeneous nanomaterials with proper surface modification could be used as Fenton-like catalysts. Surface doping of Ti O2 could concentrate the pollutants surrounding the Fe3O4 catalyst, which might benefit the catalytic performance of Fe3O4. Herein, we reported that Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles(NPs) could be used as high-performance Fenton-like catalyst for dye decoloration in near neutral environment, where the doping of Ti O2 on Fe3O4 surface dramatically improved the catalytic activity of Fe3O4 in Fenton-like reaction. Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 NPs catalyzed the decomposition of H2O2 to oxidize methylene blue without external energy supply, resulting in effective decoloration. Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 NPs showed high catalytic activity under various p H values and even in the presence of radical scavenger. More catalysts and H2O2 would facilitate the decoloration. At higher temperature, the decoloration became faster and more effective.
