| 2 | The ignored emission of volatile organic compounds from iron ore sinter process显示文摘Iron ore sintering is a major source of gaseous and particulate pollutants emission in iron smelt plant. The aim of present study is to characterize the volatile organic compounds(VOCs) emission profiles from iron ore sintering process. Both sinter pot test and sinter simulation experiment were conducted and compared. Out results showed that sinter process produced large quantity of VOCs together with NOxand SO_2. VOCs and NO were produced simultaneously in sinter pot test from 3 to 24 min after ignition, flowed by SO_2 production from 15 min to the end of sintering. Total VOCs(TVOC) concentration in sinter flue gas was affected by the coal and coke ratio in sinter raw material. The maximum TVOC concentration was 34.5 ppm when using 100% coal as fuel. Sinter simulation experiments found that the number of VOCs species and their concentrations were found by sinter temperature. The largest VOCs species varieties were obtained at 500 °C. Benzene, toluene,xylene and ethylbenzene were major VOCs in sinter flue gas based on the results from both simulation test and sinter pot. It thus demonstrated that in addition to NO_x, SO_2 and metal oxide particles, sinter flue gas also contained significant amount of VOCs whose environmental impact cannot be ignored. | 3 | Fiber damage analysis model for RC beam-column based on EEP super-convergent computation显示文摘A new numerical strategy to model nonlinear damage behavior of RC beam-column member based on level of material and superconvergent computation is presented in this paper. A fiber damage analysis model (FDAM) for RC beam-column member is established by analyzing section of fiber beam column element with the uniaxial damage constitutive relations of con-crete. The damage index of RC member through statistical analysis of concrete fibers damage is defined in the extreme section of beam elements, which can describe the nonlinear damage behavior of RC beam-column member under any loadings. The newly proposed element energy projection (EEP) method is applied to the inelastic analysis of FDAM. EEP superconvergent formulas for section forces and deformations of beam-column are established, and general algorithm and numerical strategy adopting EEP super-convergent computation for section deformation increment are proposed in the classical Newton-Raphson process. Both analysis and numerical test show that the EEP method can effectively find out the nonlinear feature of the distribution, and accurately obtain the damage distribution of RC beamcolumn. | 4 | Arctic oscillation and the antarcic oscillation modes in the atmospheric stratosphere显示文摘On the basis of the EOF analysis of global geopotential height anomaly (GHA) field at 10 hPa level, the arctic oscillation (AO) and the means antarctic oscillation (AAO) can be detected more obviously at the upper level of atmosphere than the AO or the AAO in surface layer. Unlike the hemisphere pattern of the AO and the AAO in the surface lager given by previous authors, the AO or the AAO in the stratosphere has its global features. The zonal oscillations-the Southern Oscillation (SO) and the north oscillation (NO) in atmospheric surface layer become less clear in the upper air. The first mode (AO mode, abbreviated to AOM hereafter) and the second mode (AAO mode, abbreviated to AAOM hereafter) respectively have 41.47% and 27.04% of the total variance contribution. The cumulative variance contribution of the first two modes reaches 68.51%. These two modes are the main components for the interdecadal or decadal oscillation in the stratosphere. In addition, there still exist two kinds of oscillation patterns with less probability, namely, the symmetric pattern at mid-high latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere and the asymmetric pattern. Spectral analysis shows that the AOM and the AAOM all have a spectral peak for 22 a period, being consistent with the periodic variations of the solar magnetic field, and a peak for 11 a period, being consistent with the period of the numbers of sunspots. Step filter analysis shows that the influencing factor for the upper atmospheric oscillation is the solar activity. | 6 | RNA-Seq Study Reveals AP2-Domain-Containing Signalling Regulators Involved in Initial Imbibition of Seed Germination in Rice显示文摘A number of internal signals are required for seed germination.However,the precise signalling responses in the initial imbibition of seed germination are not yet fully understood in rice.In this study,the RNA sequencing(RNA-Seq)approach was conducted in 8 h imbibed seeds to understand the signalling responses in the initial imbibition of rice seed germination.A total of 563 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)with at least 4-fold change were identified in 8 h imbibed seeds compared to dry seeds.MapMan analysis revealed that the majority of signalling response-related DEGs were hormone-and transcription factor-related genes,in which the largest number of DEGs belong to the AP2-domain-containing regulators,and their expressions were significantly induced in the initial imbibition of seed germination in rice.Moreover,at least five AP2-domain-containing transcription factor OsDREBs were identified in the initial imbibition of rice seed germination,and the expressions of 251 DEGs were putatively regulated by OsDREBs through the dehydration-responsive element(DRE)cis-element assay.It suggested that the OsDREBs might play important roles in the regulation of initial seed imbibition in rice.The identified genes provide a valuable resource to study the signalling regulation of seed germination in the future. | HE Yongqi ZHAO Jia FENG Defeng HUANG Zhibo LIANG Jiaming ZHENG Yufei CHENG Jinping YING Jifeng WANG Zhoufei | 2020 | Rice science2020,27,4: | 2 |
| 7 | A macro-level global seismic damage model considering higher modes显示文摘For modal pushover analysis procedures, the model proposed by Ghobarah et al.(called the G model hereafter, 1999) has been extended to account for the contributions of transient higher modes to global seismic damage of structures excited by strong ground motions. The proposed model has physically and perfectly bridged the G model and the final softening model proposed by DiPasquale and Cakmak(1988). Modal damage indexes corresponding to all considered vibration modes are combined by the CQC rule or the SRSS rule. Incremental dynamic analysis(IDA) is performed on three example RC frames to validate the proposed model, and a comprehensive comparison is carried out. The demonstration indicates that the proposed model is easy to implement and refl ects the influence of the transition in transient vibration periods and modes on structural damage evolution. Some limitations associated with the proposed model are also addressed. | 15 | Microelectrode arrays for monitoring neural activity in neural stem cells with modulation by glutamate in vitro显示文摘In this study, a 60-channel microelectrode array(MEA) was fabricated and used to monitor the neural spikes and local field potentials(LFPs) of neurons differentiated from rat neural stem cells in vitro. The neurons were grown on the MEA surface to detect neural signals. Glutamate(Glu) was used to modulate neural activity during experiments. To enhance detection performance, platinum nanoparticles were modified onto the microelectrode site surface. Glutamate stimulated neural spikes and LFPs were recorded using the MEA. The average spike amplitude was approximately 70 μV in the normal state. The spike amplitude increased by 29% from 70 μV to 90 μV with Glu modulation. The firing rate increased by 69% from 4.01 Hz to 6.8 Hz with Glu modulation. The LFP power increased from 326 μW in the normal state to 617 μW with Glu modulation in the 0–10 Hz frequency band. Data analysis shows that neural activity stimulated by Glu modulation was recorded experimentally at high temporal-spatial resolution. This paper proposes a novel durable intelligent fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) anchor to understand the behavior of the anchor in the field application. Series of optical fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors were embedded into the central axis along the anchor to sense itself axial strain variations. An evolution model of axial strain was also developed to evaluate the behavior along the anchor. A demonstration test was carried out to test its self-sensing properties in the laboratory.
