1Environmental taxation and regional inequality in China显示文摘In order to combat environmental pollution, China enacted the Environmental Protection Tax Law in early 2018. Yet the impacts of the environmental tax on individual regions with different socioeconomic statuses, which are crucial for social justice and public acceptance, remain unclear. Based on a MultiRegional Input-Output(MRIO) table and a nationally regulated tax payment calculation method, this study analyzes the distributional impacts of an environmental tax based upon province’s consumption from both inter-provincial and rural-urban aspects. The national tax revenue based on the current levy mechanism is estimated to be only one seventh of the economic loss from premature mortality caused by ambient particulate matter(PM2.5). The taxation may slightly alleviate urban-rural inequality but may not be helpful with reducing inter-provincial inequality. We further analyze two alternative levy mechanisms. If each province imposes taxes to products it consumes(rather than produces, as in the current mechanism), with the tax rate linearly dependent on its per capita consumption expenditure, this would moderately increase the national tax revenue and significantly reduce inter-provincial inequality. To better compensate for the economic costs of air pollution and reduce regional inequality, it would be beneficial to increase the tax rate nationwide and implement a levy mechanism based on provincially differentiated levels of consumption and economic status.Jingxu Wang Jintai Lin Kuishuang Feng Peng Liu Mingxi Du Ruijing Ni Lulu Chen Hao Kong Hongjian Weng Mengyao Liu Giovanni Baiocchi Yu Zhao Zhifu Mi Jing Cao Klaus Hubacek 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,22:3

3Recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of paroxysmal kinesigemc dyskinesia: an expert consensus in China显示文摘Paroxysmal dyskinesias are a group of neurological diseases characterized by intermittent episodes of involuntary movements with different causes.Paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia(PKD)is the most common type of paroxysmal dyskinesia and can be divided into primary and secondary types based on the etiology.Clinically,PKD is characterized by recurrent and transient attacks of involuntary movements precipitated by a sudden voluntary action. The major cause of primary PKD is genetic abnormalities, and the inheritance pattern of PKD is mainly autosomal-dominant with incomplete penetrance. The proline-rich transmembrane protein 2(PRRT2)was the first identified causative gene of PKD,accounting for the majority of PKD cases worldwide. An increasing number of studies has revealed the clinical and genetic characteristics,as well as the underlying mechanisms of PKD.By seeking the views of domestic experts,we propose an expert consensus regarding the diagnosis and treatment of PKD to help establish standardized clinical evaluation and therapies for PKD.In this consensus,we review the clinical manifestations, etiology, clinical diagnostic criteria and therapeutic recommendations for PKD,and results of genetic analyses in PKD patients performed in domestic hospitals.Li Cao Xiaojun Huang Ning Wang Zhiying Wu Cheng Zhang Weihong Gu Shuyan Cong Jianhua Ma Ling Wei Yanchun Deng Qi Fang Qi Niu Jin Wang Zhaoxia Wang You Yin Jinyong Tian Shufen Tian Hongyan Bi Hong Jiang Xiaorong Liu Yang Lu Meizhen Sun Jianjun Wu Erhe Xu Tao Chen Tao Chen Xu Chen Wei Li Shujian Li Qinghua Li Xiaonan Song Ying Tang Ping Yang Yun Yang Min Zhang Xiong Zhang Yuhu Zhang Ruxu Zhang Yi Ouyang Jintai Yu Quanzhong Hu Qing Ke Yuanrong Yao Zhe Zhao Xiuhe Zhao Guohua Zhao Furu Liang Nan Cheng Jianhong Han Rong Peng Shengdi Chen Beisha Tang 2021Translational Neurodegeneration2021,10,1:1
4An elevated platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio is associated with a higher risk of intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis显示文摘Background:Previous studies have shown that inflammation plays an important role in intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(ICAS).The platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)has recently emerged as a potential inflammatory biomarker. This study aimed to explore the association of the PLR with ICAS in a Chinese Han population. Methods:A total of 2134 participants(518 with ICAS,1616 without ICAS)were enrolled in this study.ICAS was defined as atherosclerotic stenosis>50%or the occlusion of several main intracranial arteries.Multivariable logistic regression analyses were used to assess the association of the PLR with ICAS.Additional subgroup analyses were performed according to age(<60 vs.≥60 years)and acute ischemic stroke. Results:Multivariate regression analysis showed that a high PLR was associated with a higher risk of ICAS in all participants(P<0.001).Compared with the lowest quartile, the fourth PLR quartile was significantly associated with ICAS(OR 1.705,95%confidence interval 1.278–2.275,P<0.001).In the subgroups stratified by age,an association between the PLR and ICAS was found in the late-life group(P<0.001),but not in the mid-life group(P=0.650).In the subgroups stratified by acute ischemic stroke, the relationship between an elevated PLR and a higher risk of ICAS remained unchanged(stroke group,P<0.001;non-stroke group,P=0.027).Conclusions:An elevated PLR was associated with a higher risk of ICAS in a Chinese Han population. The PLR might serve as a potential biomarker for ICAS in the elderly population.Yanhua Huang Zuoteng Wang Bing Zhao Yahui Ma Yanan Ou Hao Hu Xiaohe Hou Jintai Yu Lan Tan 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,12:1
5Full experimental determination of tunneling time with attosecond-scale streaking method显示文摘Tunneling is one of the most fundamental and ubiquitous processes in the quantum world. The question of how long a particle takes to tunnel through a potential barrier has sparked a long-standing debate since the early days of quantum mechanics. Here,we propose and demonstrate a novel scheme to accurately determine the tunneling time of an electron. In this scheme,a weak laser field is used to streak the tunneling current produced by a strong elliptically polarized laser field in an attoclock configuration, allowing us to retrieve the tunneling ionization time relative to the field maximum with a precision of a few attoseconds. This overcomes the difficulties in previous attoclock measurements wherein the Coulomb effect on the photoelectron momentum distribution has to be removed with theoretical models and it requires accurate information of the driving laser fields. We demonstrate that the tunneling time of an electron from an atom is close to zero within our experimental accuracy. Our study represents a straightforward approach toward attosecond time-resolved imaging of electron motion in atoms and molecules.Miao Yu Kun Liu Min Li Jiaqing Yan Chuanpeng Cao Jia Tan Jintai Liang Keyu Guo Wei Cao Pengfei Lan Qingbin Zhang Yueming Zhou Peixiang Lu 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8:0
