| 3 | Ethanol and liver: Recent insights into the mechanisms of ethanol-induced fatty liver显示文摘Alcoholic fatty liver disease(AFLD),a potentially pathologic condition,can progress to steatohepatitis,fibrosis,and cirrhosis,leading to an increased probability of hepatic failure and death.Alcohol induces fatty liver by increasing the ratio of reduced form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide to oxidized form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide in hepatocytes;increasing hepatic sterol regulatory element-binding protein(SREBP)-1,plasminogen activator inhibitor(PAI)-1,and early growth response-1 activity;and decreasing hepatic peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-αactivity.Alcohol activates the innate immune system and induces an imbalance of the immune response,which is followed by activated Kupffer cell-derived tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αoverproduction,which is in turn responsible for the changes in the hepatic SREBP-1 and PAI-1 activity.Alcohol abuse promotes the migration of bone marrowderived cells(BMDCs)to the liver and then reprograms TNF-αexpression from BMDCs.Chronic alcohol intake triggers the sympathetic hyperactivity-activated hepatic stellate cell(HSC)feedback loop that in turn activates the HSCs,resulting in HSC-derived TNF-αoverproduction.Carvedilol may block this feedback loop by suppressing sympathetic activity,which attenuates the progression of AFLD.Clinical studies evaluating com-bination therapy of carvedilol with a TNF-αinhibitor to treat patients with AFLD are warranted to prevent the development of alcoholic liver disease. | Jinyao Liu | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,40: | 16 |
| 4 | Magmatism and tectonic processes in Area A hydrothermal vent on the Southwest Indian Ridge显示文摘The hydrothermal vent in Area A(37.78°S,49.65°E)is the first active hydrothermal vent discovered on the Southwest Indian Ridge(SWIR).Heat source and adequate bulk permeability are two necessary factors for the formation of a hydrothermal vent.Along the SWIR 49.3°E to 51.2°E,the gravity-derived crustal thickness is up to 9.0 km,much thicker than the average thickness of the global oceanic crust.This characteristic indicates that the magma supply in this area is robust,which is possibly affected by a hotspot.The large-scale residual mantle Bouguer anomalies(RMBA)reveal prominent negative-gravity anomalies between the first-order ridge segment(from Indomed to Gallieni,46.0°E to 52.0°E)and the Marion-Del Cano-Crozet region.These anomalies indicate the channel of the hotspot-ridge interaction.The tomography data corrected with theoretical thermal model indicate that the low-velocity anomalies corresponding to this channel can reach the base of the lithosphere.Near the hydrothermal vent area,the topography and crustal thickness at the off-axis area are extremely asymmetrical.South of the SWIR,the high topography corresponds to the thinning crustal thickness.The residual isostatic topography anomalies indicate that Area A is a deviation from the local isostatic equilibrium,similar to the characteristics of the transform fault inside corner.The forward profiles of the magnetic data indicate that the thinning magnetic layer at the south side of Area A corresponds to the shallow,high-velocity area revealed by the OBS,which is the result of tectonic extension of a detachment fault.The active tectonic processes in Area A can provide sufficient crustal permeability to the hydrothermal circulation and may form massive sulfide deposits. | ZHANG Tao LIN Jian GAO JinYao | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,12: | 14 |
| 5 | Atomic-Scale Layer-by-Layer Deposition of Fe SiAl@ZnO@Al_(2)O_(3) Hybrid with Threshold Anti-Corrosion and Ultra-High Microwave Absorption Properties in Low-Frequency Bands显示文摘Developing highly efficient magnetic microwave absorb-ers(MAs)is crucial,and yet challenging for anti-corrosion properties in extremely humid and salt-induced foggy environments.Herein,a dual-oxide shell of ZnO/Al_(2)O_(3) as a robust barrier to FeSiAl core is introduced to mitigate corrosion resistance.The FeSiAl@ZnO@Al_(2)O_(3) layer by layer hybrid structure is realized with atomic-scale precision through the atomic layer deposition technique.Owing to the unique hybrid structure,the FeSiAl@ZnO@Al_(2)O_(3) exhibits record-high micro-wave absorbing performance in low-frequency bands covering L and S bands with a minimum reflection loss(RLmin)of-50.6 dB at 3.4 GHz.Compared with pure FeSiAl(RLmin of-13.5 dB,a bandwidth of 0.5 GHz),the RLmin value and effective bandwidth of this designed novel absorber increased up to~3.7 and~3 times,respectively.Fur-thermore,the inert ceramic dual-shells have improved 9.0 times the anti-corrosion property of FeSiAl core by multistage barriers towards corrosive medium and obstruction of the electric circuit.This is attributed to the large charge transfer resistance,increased impedance modulus|Z|0.01 Hz,and frequency time constant of FeSiAl@ZnO@Al_(2)O_(3).The research demonstrates a promising platform toward the design of next-generation MAs with improved anti-corrosion properties. | Wei Tian Jinyao Li Yifan Liu Rashad Ali Yang Guo Longjiang Deng Nasir Mahmood Xian Jian | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,10: | 6 |
| 6 | Faulting, magmatism and crustal oceanization of the Okinawa Trough显示文摘The paper focuses on the characteristics of faulting and magmatism of the Okinawa Trough and the relation between them. En-echelon grabens are ranked oblique to the continental shelf edge uplift, and the Longwang uplift, the rifting block ridge in the northern segment and the 'Mianhua uplift' in the southern segment have possibly preserved characteristics of volcanism and magmatism occurring with those rifting phases. The clockwise rotation of the southern Ryukyu Islands, driven by collision between Luzon and Taiwan, has played a key role in the crustal oceanization, enhancing the crustal extension of the southern segment and inducing volcanic magmatism in those grabens, among which the Yaeyama graben is a typical example of the presence of oceanic crust. Faulting and magmatism were mainly migrating towards the island arc asymmetrically. | 9 | Mantle melting factors and amagmatic crustal accretion of the Gakkel ridge, Arctic Ocean显示文摘Spreading rate is a primary factor of mantle melting and tectonic behavior of the global mid-ocean ridges. The spreading rate of the Gakkel ridge decreases gradually from west to east. However, the Gakkel ridge can be divided into four thick-and-thin zones with varying crustal thicknesses along ridge axis. This phenomenon indicates that mantle melting of the Gakkel ridge is not a simple function of spreading rate. Mantle temperature, water content,mantle composition, and other factors are important in crustal accretion processes. Based on gravity-derived crustal thickness and wet melting model, we estimate that the mantle potential temperatures of the four zones are1 270, 1 220, 1 280, and 1 280°C(assuming that mantle water content equals to global average value), with corresponding mantle water contents of 210, 0, 340, and 280 mg/kg(assuming that mantle potential temperature is 1 260°C), respectivly. The western thinned crust zone is best modeled with low mantle temperature, whereas the other zones are mainly controlled by the enhanced conduction caused by the slower spreading rate. Along the Gakkel ridge, the crustal thickness is consistent with rock samples types. Predominated serpentinized peridotite and basalt are found in the area with crustal thickness <1.5 km and >2.5 km, respectively. The rock samples are including from basalt to peridotite in the area with crustal thickness between 1.5 and 2.5 km. Based on this consistency, the traditional magmatic accretion zone accounted for only 44% and amagmatic accretion accounted for 29% of the Gakkel ridge. Our work mainly focuses on SDN based queuing delay estimation with real traffic and end-to-end delay control. First, we propose a queuing estimation model and extended it for end-to-end delay of the whole path. It is proved to be feasible and accurate with experimental results in SDN environment. Second, in order to demonstrate the use of our proposed model, we also implement an end-to-end delay control application in SDN. | 12 | Rifting characteristics of eastern subbasin of South China Sea and its spreading pattern显示文摘With processing and interpretation of 25 000 km full-coverage multibeam swath data from the eastern South China Sea, it is found that NE-trending and NW-trending linear morphological featuressuch as scarps, horsts and grabens, govem the central part (14°~ 17° N) of eastern subbasin.Compared with reflection seismic profiles, these NE-trending linear morpho-structures are considered to be the representation of basement structures on seabed and can be divided into three linear structural zones. The trend of the central zone is NE45°~50° occurring around extinct spreading center, the trend of the second zone is NE70°~78° on both sides of the central one and the trend of the third zone is about NE60° just on the north of the second one. | 13 | Bioreducible unimolecular micelles based on amphiphilic multiarm hyperbranched copolymers for triggered drug release显示文摘A novel type of bioreducible amphiphilic multiarm hyperbranched copolymer (H40-star-PLA-SS-PEG) based on Boltorn H40 core,poly(L-lactide) (PLA) inner-shell,and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) outer-shell with disulfide-linkages between the hydrophobic and hydrophilic moieties was developed as unimolecular micelles for controlled drug release triggered by reduction.The obtained H40-star-PLA-SS-PEG was characterized in detail by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR),Fourier transform infrared (FTIR),gel permeation chromatography (GPC),differential scanning calorimeter (DSC),and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA).Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) analyses suggested that H40-star-PLA-SS-PEG formed stable unimolecular micelles in aqueous solution with an average diameter of 19 nm.Interestingly,these micelles aggregated into large particles rapidly in response to 10 mM dithiothreitol (DTT),most likely due to shedding of the hydrophilic PEG outer-shell through reductive cleavage of the disulfide bonds.As a hydrophobic anticancer model drug,doxorubicin (DOX) was encapsulated into these reductive unimolecular micelles.In vitro release studies revealed that under the reduction-stimulus,the detachment of PEG outer-shell in DOX-loaded micelles resulted in a rapid drug release.Flow cytometry and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) measurements indicated that these DOX-loaded micelles were easily internalized by living cells.Methyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay demonstrated a markedly enhanced drug efficacy of DOX-loaded H40-star-PLA-SS-PEG micelles as compared to free DOX.All of these results show that these bioreducible unimolecular micelles are promising carriers for the triggered intracellular delivery of hydrophobic anticancer drugs. | PANG Yan 1,LIU JinYao 1,SU Yue 1,ZHU BangShang 2,HUANG Wei 1,ZHOU YongFeng 1,ZHU XinYuan 1,2 & YAN DeYue 1 1 School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering,State Key Laboratory of Metal Matrix Composites,Shanghai Jiao Tong University,Shanghai 200240,China 2 Instrumental Analysis Center,Shanghai Jiao Tong University,Shanghai 200240,China | 2010 | Science China Chemistry2010,53,12: | 3 |

| 15 | SRSF1 inhibits autophagy through regulating Bcl-x splicing and interacting with PIK3C3 in lung cancer显示文摘Alternative splicing is a critical process to generate protein diversity.However,whether and how alternative splicing regulates autophagy remains largely elusive.Here we systematically identify the splicing factor SRSF1 as an autophagy suppressor.Specifically,SRSF1 inhibits autophagosome formation by reducing the accumulation of LC3-ⅡI and numbers of autophagosomes in different cell lines.Mechanistically,SRSF1 promotes the splicing of the long isoform of Bcl-x that interacts with Beclinl,thereby dissociating the Beclin1-PIK3C3 complex.In addition,SRSF1 also directly interacts with PIK3C3 to disrupt the interaction between Beclinl and PIK3C3.Consequently,the decrease of SRSF1 stabilizes the Beclinl and PIK3C3 complex and activates autophagy.Interestingly,SRSF1 can be degraded by starvation-and oxidative stresses-induced autophagy through interacting with LC3-Ⅱ,whereas reduced SRSF1 further promotes autophagy.This positive feedback is critical to inhibiting Gefitinib-resistant cancer cell progression both in vitro and in vivo.Consistently,the expression level of SRSF1 is inversely correlated to LC3 level in clinical cancer samples.Our study not only provides mechanistic insights of alternative splicing in autophagy regulation but also discovers a new regulatory role of SRSF1 in tumorigenesis,thereby offering a novel avenue for potential cancer therapeutics. | Yuesheng Lv Wenjing Zhang Jinyao Zhao Bing Sun Yangfan Qi Haoyu Ji Chaoqun Chen Jinrui Zhang Junxiu Sheng Taishu Wang Daniel Dominguez Han Liu Quentin Liu Songshu Meng Xiaoling Li Yang Wang | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,4: | 2 |
