1Prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder in China:A Nationwide Multi-center Population-based Study Among Children Aged 6 to 12 Years显示文摘This study aimed to obtain the first national estimate of the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder(ASD) in Chinese children.We targeted the population of 6 to 12-year-old children for this prevalence study by multistage convenient cluster sampling.The Modified Chinese Autism Spectrum Rating Scale was used for the screening process.Of the target population of 142,086 children,88.5%(n=125,806) participated in the study.A total of 363 children were confirmed as having ASD.The observed ASD prevalence rate was 0.29%(95% CI:0.26%-0.32%) for the overall population.After adjustment for response rates,the estimated number of ASD cases was867 in the target population sample,thereby achieving an estimated prevalence of 0.70%(95% CI:0.64%-0.74%).The prevalence was significantly higher in boys than in girls(0.95%;95% CI:0.87%-1.02% versus 0.30%;95%CI:0.26%-0.34%;P <0.001).Of the 363 confirmed ASD cases,43.3% were newly diagnosed,and most of those(90.4%) were attending regular schools,and 68.8% of the children with ASD had at least one neuropsychiatric comorbidity.Our findings provide reliable data on the estimated ASD prevalence and comorbidities in Chinese children.Hao Zhou Xiu Xu Weili Yan Xiaobing Zou Lijie Wu Xuerong Luo Tingyu Li Yi Huang Hongyan Guan Xiang Chen Meng Mao Kun Xia Lan Zhang Erzhen Li Xiaoling Ge Lili Zhang Chunpei Li Xudong Zhang Yuanfeng Zhou Ding Ding Andy Shih Eric Fombonne Yi Zheng Jisheng Han Zhongsheng Sun Yong-hui Jiang Yi Wang LATENT-NHC Study Team 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,9:158
2Predictive value of serum levels of transforming growth factor beta 1 for the short-term effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in patients with esophageal cancer显示文摘Objective To investigate variation in levels of transforming growth factor beta 1(TGF-β1)before and after radiotherapy in patients with esophageal cancer in order to evaluate the predictive value of TGF-β1 for the effects of radiotherapy Methods A total of 140 patients with esophageal squamous carcinoma undergoing radical radiation therapy in the Department of Oncology from March 2015 to December 2017 were enrolled.The patients were divided into the effective(115 cases)and ineffective(25 cases)groups according to World Health Organization(WHO)criteria for the evaluation of solid tumors(2009 RECIST standard).TGF-β1 levels were measured in all patients by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Multiple-factor analysis of the predictive value of the treatment efficacy was performed by Cox regression analysis.Results After radiotherapy,36,79,and 25 cases experienced complete response(CR),partial response(PR),and no response(NR),respectively,with a total effective rate of 82.14%.The TGF-β1 level was significantly lower in the effective group than that in the ineffective group(P<0.05)and covariance analysis revealed significantly reduced TGF-β1 level in esophageal cancer patients following radiotherapy.The multi-factor Cox regression model revealed that the predictive value of TGF-β1 for the effect of radiotherapy was largest,with a hazard ratio[HR]of 1.955(P=0.002),followed by exposure dose,with(HR=1.367;P=0.035).Conclusion Serum TGF-β1 level can serve as a predictor for the short-term effects of radiotherapy in patients with esophageal cancer.Fei Gao Lin Jia Jianjun Han Jisheng Wang Yun Wang 2018Oncology and Translational Medicine2018,4,1:4

6Orphanin FQ antagonizes the analgesic effect of 5-HT in rat brain显示文摘Orphanin FQ (OFQ) is a new modulatory peptide which was found in 1994. It mediates in morphine analgesia and electroacupuncture analgesia. The interaction between OFQ and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) on analgesia was observed using the method of intracerebroventricular microinjection. The results showed that cumulative i. c.v. administration of gradually increasing doses of 5-HT produced a dose-dependent analgesia, and administration of different doses of OFQ separateness had no significant effect on tail flick latency, but 1 or 10 μg OFQ could reverse the analgesia induced by 5-HT, suggesting that OFQ could antagonize the analgesia induced by 5-HT in rat brain.Yun Wang Aixu Zhang Wei Xu Jaukang Chang Jisheng Han 1999Chinese Science Bulletin1999,44,9:1

8Acupuncture-related techniques for the treatment of opiate addiction:a case of translational medicine显示文摘Drug addiction is a chronic brain disorder characterized by withdrawal symptoms that occur during drug abstinence and a high tendency of relapse.Compared with the currently available pharmacological interventions,acupuncture therapy has the potential to help drug addicts stay away from drugs without major adverse side effects.It has taken decades of research to optimize the parameters of electrical acupoint stimulation for detoxification and for relapse prevention,as well as to establish a safe and easy procedure by which drug addicts can use it on themselves.The discovery that acupuncture can trigger the release of opioid substances from the brain in the 1970s provided the inspiration.Following this,basic research on animals made it possible to understand the mechanisms of action and establish the procedure for treating drug addictions.This article reviews the past,present,and foreseeable future regarding the use of acupuncture-related technique for the treatment of opiate addiction from the perspective of translational medicine.Jisheng Han Cailian Cui Liuzhen Wu 2011Frontiers of Medicine2011,5,2:1

10Relationship between the analgesic effect of electroacupuncture and CCK-8 content in spinal perfusate in rats显示文摘There exists significant individual variation in electroacupuncture (EA) induced analgesia.Rats may be classified as high- and low-responders according to their response to EA analgesia. The content of cholecystokinin octapeptide like immunoreactivity (CCK-8-ir) in the spinal perfusate of highresponder (HR) and low-responder (LR) rats was measured with radioimmunoassay. The result showed that the CCK-8-ir content in LR rats was significantly lower than that in HR rats. There exists a negative correlation between the EA effect and the CCK-8-ir content during EA stimulation. 11Improvement for expansion of parabolized stability equation method in boundary layer stability analysis显示文摘An improved expansion of the parabolized stability equation(iEPSE) method is proposed for the accurate linear instability prediction in boundary layers. It is a local eigenvalue problem, and the streamwise wavenumber α and its streamwise gradient dα/dx are unknown variables. This eigenvalue problem is solved for the eigenvalue dα/dx with an initial α, and the correction of α is performed with the conservation relation used in the PSE. The i EPSE is validated in several compressible and incompressible boundary layers. The computational results show that the prediction accuracy of the i EPSE is significantly higher than that of the ESPE, and it is in excellent agreement with the PSE which is regarded as the baseline for comparison. In addition, the unphysical multiple eigenmode problem in the EPSE is solved by using the i EPSE. 12Effect of nocistatin in pain modulation显示文摘Using tail-flick latency as the nociceptive index and von Frey hair to measure the mechanical allodynia, the aim of the present study is to determine whether nocistatin, injected intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.), would reverse the anti-morphine effect of orphanin FQ (OFQ), and, injected i.c.v. or intrathecally (i.t.), would inhibit the mechanical allodynia in a L5 and L6 spinal nerve ligation model of neuropathic pain in rats. The results show that i.c.v. injection of nocistatin produces no significant changes in the TFL, nor does it affect morphine analgesia. in addition, i.c.v. or i.t. nocistatin produces no significant changes in withdrawal threshold of the nerve-lesioned hind paw. However, nocistatin significantly reverses the antagonistic effect of OFQ on morphine analgesia when it was coinjected i.c.v. with OFQ. 15Chemically derived graphene quantum dots for high-strain sensing显示文摘Graphene quantum dots(GQDs)refer to graphene fragments with a lateral dimension typically less than 100 nm,which possess unique electrical and optical properties due to the quantum confinement effect.In this study,we demonstrate that chemically derived graphene quantum dots show great potential for making highly stretchable and cost-effective strain sensors via an electron tunneling mechanism.Stretch-able strain sensors are critical devices for the field of flexible or wearable electronics which are expected to maintain function up to high strain values(>30%).However,strain sensors based on conventional materials(i.e.metal or semiconductors)or metal nanoparticles(e.g.gold or silver nanoparticles)only work within a small range of strain(i.e.the former have a working range<1%and the latter<3%).In this study,by simply dropcasting solution-processed GQDs between the interdigitated electrodes on polydimethylsiloxane,we obtained devices that can function in the range from 0.06%to over 50%ten-sile strain with both the sensitivity and working range conveniently adjustable by the concentration of GQDs applied.This study provides a new concept for practical applications of GQDs,revealing the poten-tial of this material for smart applications such as artificial skin,human-machine interfaces,and health monitoring.Shujun Wang Francesco Lenzini Dechao Chen Philip Tanner Jisheng Han David Thiel Mirko Lobino Qin Li 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,10:1

18Research advances in gene therapy for Parkinson's disease显示文摘During the long period of time when people have been seeking for an effective therapeutic method for PD, the gene therapy has shown greater and greater advantages over other methods. It can be performed mainly in two ways: ex vivo and in vivo. With the former, TH gene as well as some neurotrophic factor genes (such as GDNF, BNDF genes) can be invited to some cell lines or primary cells thus forming engineered cells and then implanting them into brain. While with the latter, viral vectors including HSV-1, Ad, AAV that can be utilized to construct recombinant viruses, or non-virus vectors can be used to delived DNA into brain directly. 19COEXISTENCE OF FOS-LIKE PROTEIN IN TYROSINE HYDROXYLASE-LIKE IMMUNOREACTIVE NEURONS IN THE HINDBRAIN OF ARTS FOLLOWING PERIPHERAL ELECTRICAL STIMULATION显示文摘In the present study we have found that proto-oncogene c-fos protein can expressin the noradrenergic neurons of rat hindbrain following peripheral electrical stimulation. Ratswere given peripheral electrical stimulation via thin stainless steel pins inserted into the pointsnear knee joint (S36) and ankle joint (Sp6) which mimic the manipulation of electroacupuncture(EA) performed in humans. Animals were perfused for double staining immunohistochemistry 2hafter the termination of EA. In rats subjected to EA stimulation Fos-like protein was found in thetyrosine hydroxylase (TH)-like immunoreactive neurons in rat hindbrain. The Fos and TH coex-isting neurons were distributed in the locus coeruleus, solitary tract nucleus, ventrolateral medul-la, periaqeductal gray, as well as superior colliculus. The percentage of the coexisting neuronscompared with the total number of neurons containing Fos-like protein in these nuclei rangedfrom 6% to 32%.
