| 1 | Tensile and Fracture Properties of 15 vol% SiC_p/2009Al Composites Fabricated by Hot Isostatic Pressing and Hot Extrusion Processes显示文摘15 vol% silicon carbide particle(Si Cp)-reinforced 2009 Al matrix(15 vol% Si Cp/2009Al) composites were fabricated by hot isostatic pressing(HIP) and hot extrusion processes. The tensile and fracture properties of 15 vol% Si Cp/2009 Al were studied. The results showed that hot extrusion increased the ultimate tensile strength(UTS), yield strength(YS), elongation(EL), reduction in area(RA), and fracture toughness of the composites. The heat treatment resulted in the increase in UTS, YS, and fracture toughness, but a decrease in EL and RA. Both hot extrusion and heat treatment had negligible effects on elastic modulus(E). With the increase of Si Cpsize, the UTS, YS, and E decreased, but the EL and RA increased. | 3 | An X-ray luminosity analysis for FRIs and FRIIs显示文摘Radio galaxies are divided into two groups according to their luminosities at 178 MHz, namely Fa- naroff-Riley type Is (FRIs) and Fanaroff-Riley type IIs (FRIIs) with FRIs showing lower radio luminosities than FRIIs. In this paper, the X-ray data are compiled for 183 radio galaxies (61 FRIs and 122 FRIIs), from the available literature, for the analysis of the X-ray properties. The 1 keV X-ray luminosities are calculated and discussed for the two groups, and an averaged X-ray luminosity of logLX1 keV = 41.30±2.51 erg·s-1·keV-1 is found for FRIs, which is lower than that for FRIIs, logLX1 KeV = 43.39±3.06 erg·s-1·keV-1. A Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) test indicates that the probability for the X-ray luminosity distributions of the two groups to be from the same parent distribution is 1.44×10-10. | 4 | The line emissions and polarization in blazars显示文摘The correlations between broad-line emission,polarization,and core-dominance parameters are investigated for a sample of 148 blazars(BL Lacertae objects-BLs and flat spectrum radio quasars-FSRQs). An anti-correlation between the broad-line luminosity and the linear polarization is found. The broad-line and polarization relation can be explained by using a relativistic beaming model,which perhaps suggests that BL Lacs and FSRQs are a single class. | 5 | Chandra observations of the H_2O megamaser galaxy Mrk1210显示文摘We present the first Chandra X-ray observations of the H2O megamaser galaxy Mrk1210 (UGC4203), a Seyfert 2 galaxy at an approximate distance of D~57.6 Mpc. The Chandra X-ray image, with by far the highest angular resolution (~1'), displays an unresolved compact core toward the nuclear region of Mrk1210. Comparisons with the previous X-ray observations in the nuclear emission and the spectral shape indicate a fairly stable phase between 2001 (BeppoSAX and XMM-Newton) and 2004 (Chandra) after a dramatic variation since 1995 (ASCA). The best-fit model of Chandra X-ray spectrum consists of two components. The soft scattered component can be best fitted by a moderately absorbed power-law model adding a spectral line at ~0.9 keV (possibly a Ne-Kα fluorescent line), while the hard nuclear component can be well reproduced by a heavily absorbed power-law model (NH~2×1023 cm-2) with an additional line at ~6.19 keV (close to the Fe-Kα fluorescent line). The derived absorption-corrected X-ray luminosity implies that the dramatic variation of spectral properties is caused by significant changes of the absorbing column density along the line-of-sight, while the intrinsic nuclear X-ray lu-minosity remains stable. In this case, the absorbers should be anisotropic and its size can be constrained to be less than 0.0013 pc. | 8 | Thiocyanate-induced labilization of schwertmannite: Impacts and mechanisms显示文摘Schwertmannite is an amorphous iron(III)-oxyhydroxysulfate that forms in acid mine drainage(AMD) environments. The characteristic of high heavy metal adsorption capability makes schwertmannite a potentially useful, environmentally friendly material in wastewater treatment. Unstable schwertmannite is prone to recrystallization.Understanding the mechanisms that induce schwertmannite labilization and affect its capacity to remove heavy metals are of great environmental and geochemical significance.Thiocyanate(SCNˉ) is a hazardous pseudohalide that is also normally found in AMD.However, little is known about the impact of Fe(III)-binding ligand SCNˉ on schwertmannite stability and its subsequent capacity to bind trace elements. Here, we investigated the adsorption of SCNˉ on schwertmannite and subsequent mineral transformation to characterize this little-known process. The appearance of Fe2+indicated that the interactions between schwertmannite and SCNˉ may involve complexation and reduction reactions. Results showed that the majority of the adsorbed-SCNˉ was immobilized on schwertmannite during the 60-days transformation. The transformation rates of schwertmannite increased with increasing concentrations of SCNˉ. Goethite was detected as the dominant transformation product with or without SCNˉ. The mechanisms of SCNˉ-promoted dissolution of schwertmannite can be described as follows:(1) formation of Fe(III)–NCS complexes on the schwertmannite surface and in solution, a process which increases the reactivity of solid phase Fe(III);(2) the extraction of Fe(III) from schwertmannite by SCNˉ and subsequent schwertmannite dissolution; and(3) the formation of secondary minerals from extracted Fe(III). | 9 | A genome-wide association study uncovers a critical role of the RsPAP2 gene in red-skinned Raphanus sativus L.显示文摘Radish(Raphanus sativus L.)taproot contains high concentrations of flavonoids,including anthocyanins(ATCs),in redskinned genotypes.However,little information on the genetic regulation of ATC biosynthesis in radish is available.A genome-wide association study of radish red skin color was conducted using whole-genome sequencing data derived from 179 radish genotypes.The R2R3-MYB transcription factor production of anthocyanin pigment 2(PAP2)gene was found in the region associated with a leading SNP located on chromosome 2.The amino acid sequence encoded by the RsPAP2 gene was different from those of the other published RsMYB genes responsible for the red skin color of radish.The overexpression of the RsPAP2 gene resulted in ATC accumulation in Arabidopsis and radish,which was accompanied by the upregulation of several ATC-related structural genes.RsPAP2 was found to bind the RsUFGT and RsTT8 promoters,as shown by a dual-luciferase reporter system and a yeast one-hybrid assay.The promoter activities of the RsANS,RsCHI,RsPAL,and RsUFGT genes could be strongly activated by coinfiltration with RsPAP2 and RsTT8.These findings showed the effectiveness of GWAS in identifying candidate genes in radish and demonstrated that RsPAP2 could(either directly or together with its cofactor RsTT8)regulate the transcript levels of ATC-related genes to promote ATC biosynthesis,facilitating the genetic enhancement of ATC contents and other related traits in radish. | Lianxue Fan YanWang Liang Xu Mingjia Tang Xiaoli Zhang Jiali Ying Cui Li Junhui Dong Liwang Liu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 2 |

Thus, the deviation of the inner core is towards the sphere’s center and the liquid outer core must have asymmetrical thermal convection. Based on the two suggestions, a concise and self-consistent global motion model can be built. The model consists of the following cycle: an asymmetrical thermal convection structure in the outer core led by the dislocation of the inner core→the plume is in special upwell position because of differential activation→the formation and split of lithosphere→the split plates drift and assemble in a new location, the mass of which causes the inner core to deviate towards this direction again→the new asymmetry is formed. | 13 | Radio core dominance of Fermi/LAT-detected AGNs显示文摘We present a sample of 4388 AGNs with available radio core-dominance parameters—defined as the ratio of the core flux densities to the extended ones, R = S_(core)/S_(ext).—which includes 630 Fermi-detected AGNs from the fourth source catalog(4FGL) of the Fermi Large Area Telescope(Fermi/LAT);the rest are non-Fermi-detected AGNs. In our sample, 584 blazars are Fermi-detected and 1310 are not. The sample also contains other subclasses, such as Seyferts, Fanaroff-Riley I/II galaxies, and normal galaxies.We investigate various properties of the Fermi-detected and non-Fermi-detected AGNs by using core-dominance parameters,capitalizing on a previous study which showed that R is a good indicator of beaming. We then calculate radio spectral indices for the whole sample, and adopt γ-ray-photon indices for the Fermi AGNs from the 4FGL catalog to discuss the properties of different subclasses. We obtain a relation between the core-dominance parameters and the radio spectral indices for both Fermi and non-Fermi sources, assuming a two-component model in the radio band. Our previous study ruled out the assumption that the core-dominance parameters and radio spectral indices are quite different for different AGN subclasses. This holds not only for Fermi sources but also for non-Fermi sources. In particular, R is, on average, greater for the former AGNs than for the latter.In this study, we enlarge our sample with available values of R to 4388 AGNs, and the obtained conclusions are consistent with our previous study. We assume that the same two-component model holds for the γ-ray band as for the radio band, and therefore,adopt the same relation between the core-dominance parameters and the γ-ray-photon indices for Fermi AGNs. | 16 | Ferroelastic domain identification and toughening mechanism for yttrium tantalate–zirconium oxide显示文摘Yttrium tantalate(YTaO_(4))is the next generation of higher service temperature thermal barrier coatings(TBCs)materials due to its smaller volume effect in phase change,lower thermal conductivity and unique ferroelastic domain structure.However,the low fracture toughness limits its application.We first characterized the diffraction patterns of variants,and two variants(M_(1)and M_(2))observed in transmission electron microscopy(TEM)results were determined from four possible variants by mechanical derivation.The role of Zr^(4+)doping in ferroelastic toughening was explained in detail.With the increase of Zr^(4+)doping concentration,the monoclinic angle β and the domain rotation angleαdecrease,respectively.The spontaneous strain component and the principal strain in the main space also have a similar decreasing trend.The decrease of the ferroelastic domain inversion energy barrier is beneficial to the improvement of fracture toughness.Combining the results of Vickers indentation,we found that Zr^(4+)could be enriched at the domain boundary to inhibit the generation of cracks.An appropriate amount of Zr^(4+)is conducive to the improvement of fracture toughness,and the excessive Zr^(4+)will reduce the fracture toughness due to the generation of by-product t-ZrO_(2).So,the optimal composition is Y_(0.44)Ta_(0.44)Zr_(0.12)O_(2) and the best fracture toughness(2.9–3.8MPa m^(1/2))is equivalent to the commercial 8YSZ.This result will promote the application of a new generation of TBCs. | Cheng Luo Cong Li Ke Cao Junbao Li Junhui Luo Qinghua Zhang QianQian Zhou Fan Zhang Lin Gu Li Yang Yichun Zhou | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,32: | 1 |

| 20 | Lorentz factor estimation for radio sources显示文摘In this paper, a sample including 68 blazars (18 BL Lacs and 50 FSRQs) with known Doppler factors and superluminal velocity from our previous papers is presented. Both the Lorentz factors (Γ) and viewing angles (θ) are estimated for the 68 sources. The relationship between BL Lacs and FSRQs is also revisited using the two variables of Γ and θ. The Lorenz factors are in the range of 2.33 to 64.07. The viewing angles are in the range of 0.04 to 24.56.
