2Structural feature and its significance of the northernmost segment of the Tertiary Biluoxueshan-Chongshan shear zone,east of the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis显示文摘Here we describe ductile,ductile-brittle and brittle deformation styles in the northern segment of the Tertiary Biluoxue-shan-Chongshan shear zone lying to the east of the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis.In the northernmost part of the zone in the vicinity of the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis,it consists of mylonitic gneiss,granite,and schist.Based on field relations andmineral assemblages,the rocks are classified into gneiss belt in the west limb,including banded gneiss,augen mylonite and migmatite gneiss,and schist belt in the east limb.Except for the massive granite pluton,the other three tectonites are affected by polystage deformation (D1-D4).Fold deformation of the first stage D1 is isoclinal to tight pattern with nearly N-S fold axes and steeply axial planar cleavage S1,which resulted in the local crustal thickening under a contractive setting.D2 overprinted D1 and is characterized by tight folds with steep axes and N-S fold axial planar,which are also characterized by large-scale ductile strike-slip shear foliation S2,parallel to the nearly N-S trending axial planes of D1 and D2.The structural pattern of D2 represents a transpression along the zone.D3 occurred during the late stage of the transpression or post-transpression,produc-ing the NW-SE and NE-SW trending strike-slip faults of the third stage D3.Following the D3 deformation,the zone was ex-humed to shallow crustal level where the various tectonites underwent a brittle transtensional deformation D4,combined with one N-S trending strike-slip component and one normal faulting component.Structures and previous geochronologies presented in the paper suggest that the study area is correlated with those in the adjacent tectonic zones,Ailaoshan-Red River shear zone and Gaoligong shear zone in the western Yunnan.It underwent intensive polyphase deformation,namely,crustal thickening,transpression,and transtension,responding to syn-collision and post-collision of India-Eurasia from 65 Ma to current period east of the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis.ZHANG Bo ZHANG JinJiang ZHONG DaLai WANG XiaoXian QU JunFeng GUO Lei 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,7:11

4High-pressure granulite from Western Kunlun,northwestern China:Its metamorphic evolution,zircon SHRIMP U-Pb ages and tectonic implication显示文摘High-pressure mafic granulites occurring as lenticular bodies within garnet-amphibolites in Kangxiwar Fault have been first reported in this paper. The P-T conditions of two metamorphic stages were ob-tained using calibrated geothermal barometers and ThermoCalc Program. The peak metamorphic con-dition of these high-pressure granulites is about 760―820℃,1.0―1.2 GPa and the retrograde meta-morphic condition is about 620―720℃,0.7―0.8 GPa. The petrological studies show that they have a near-isobaric cooling P-T path which suggests that the Western Kunlun underwent initial crustal thickening,subsequent exhumation and cooling. The SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating gives two groups of ages for high-pressure granulites. One is 177±6 Ma which is obtained from the rim of the zircon. We consider this age should be the metamorphic age. And the other is 456±30 Ma which is obtained from the core of the zircon and should be the protolith age. 6Late Cretaceous-Cenozoic Multi-Stage Denudation at the Western Ordos Block: Constraints by the Apatite Fission Track Dating on the Langshan显示文摘The apatite fission track dating of samples from the Dabashan(i.e., the Langshan in the northeastern Alxa Block) by the laser ablation method and their thermal history modeling of AFT ages are conducted in this study. The obtained results and lines of geological evidence in the study region indicate that the Langshan has experienced complicated tectonic-thermal events during the the Late Cretaceous-Cenozoic. Firstly, it experienced a tectonic-thermal event in the Late Cretaceous(~90–70 Ma). The event had little relation with the oblique subduction of the Izanagi Plate along the eastern Eurasian Plate, but was related to the Neo-Tethys subduction and compression between the Lhasa Block and Qiangtang Block. Secondly, it underwent the dextral slip faulting in the Eocene(~50–45 Ma). The strike slip fault may develop in the same tectonic setting as sinistral slip faults in southern Mongolia and thrusts in West Qinling to the southwest Ordos Block in the same period, which is the remote far-field response to the India-Eurasia collision. Thirdly, the tectonic thermal event existed in the late Cenozoic(since ~10 Ma), thermal modeling shows that several samples began their denudation from upper region of partial annealing zone(PAZ), and the denudation may have a great relationship with the growth of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau to the northeast. In addition, the AFT ages of Langshan indicate that the main body of the Langshan may be an upper part of fossil PAZ of the Late Cretaceous(~70 Ma). 7Deformation at the Easternmost Altyn Tagh Fault: Constraints on the Growth of the Northern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau显示文摘How the Altyn Tagh fault(ATF) extends eastwards is one of the key questions in the study of the growth of the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau. Detailed fieldwork at the easternmost part of the ATF shows that the ATF extends eastward and bypasses the Kuantan Mountain;it does not stop at the Kuantan Mountain, but connects with the northern Heishan fault in the east. The ATF does not enter the Alxa Block but extends eastward along the southern Alxa Block to the Jintanan Mountain. The Heishan fault is not a thrust fault but a sinistral strike-slip fault with a component of thrusting and is a part of the ATF. Further to the east, the Heishan fault may connect with the Jintananshan fault. A typical strike-slip duplex develops in the easternmost part of the ATF. The cut and deformed Quaternary sediments and displaced present gullies along the easternmost ATF indicate that it is an active fault. The local highest Mountain(i.e., the Kuantan Mountain) in the region forms in a restraining bend of the ATF due to the thrusting and uplifting. 9Structural,Kinematic and Geochronological Study of the Main Tianshan Shear Zone in the Borohoro Ranges,NW China显示文摘The western segment of the Main Tianshan shear zone(MTSZ)branches into three major dextral strike-slip shear zones in the Borohoro Ranges,northwestern China.Mylonitic rocks within these zones exhibit vertical foliations,subhorizontal lineations,and dextral kinematics.The microstructures and CPO patterns of calcite and quartz in the tectonites suggest shearing at temperatures of 200℃ to 500℃ or above.The amount of dextral displacement along the zones is less than 100 km.LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of zircons from some pre-kinematic granites gave ages of 364-325 Ma and 316 Ma,and zircons from a syn-kinematic leucogranite gave an age of 291 Ma.We propose that dextral shearing along the MTSZ started in the earliest Permian.Our data indicate that collision between the Yili and Junggar plates might have finished before 325 Ma or 316 Ma,with a tectonic transformation from 325 Ma to 300 Ma,resulting in intracontinental transpression from 300 Ma or 291 Ma.We suggest that the formation of the Kazakhstan orocline(KO)took place in two stages,with the early stage of bending driven by convergence related to oblique subduction,and the late stage possibly associated with lateral disarticulation as a result of the dextral strike-slip shear zones.LIU Tianlun CHEN Siyu ZHANG Bo CAI Keda HAN Baofu QU Junfeng GUO Lei WANG Meng 2021Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,5:1

11Precambrian Tectonic Affinity of the Southern Langshan Area, Northeastern Margin of the Alxa Block: Evidence from Zircon U-Pb Dating and Lu-Hf Isotopes显示文摘The Alxa Block is the westernmost part of the North China Craton(NCC), and is regarded as one of the basement components of the NCC. Its geological evolution is of great significance for the understanding of the NCC.However, the Precambrian basement of the Alxa Block is still poorly studied. In this study, we present new in situ LA-ICPMS zircon U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotope data from the Diebusige Metamorphic Complex(DMC) which located in the eastern Alxa Block. Field and petrological studies show that the DMC consists mainly of metamorphic supracrustal rocks and minor metamorphic plutonic rocks and has experienced amphibolite-granulite facies metamorphism. Zircon U-Pb dating results suggested that the amphibolite sample yields a crystallization age of 2636 ± 14 Ma and metamorphic ages of 2517–2454 Ma and 1988–1952 Ma, proving the existence of exposed Archean rocks in the Langshan area and indicating that late Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic metamorphic events existed in the Alxa Block. Two paragneiss samples show that the magmatic detrital zircons from the DMC yield 207Pb/206Pb ages ranging from 2.48 Ga to 2.10 Ga with two youngest peaks at 2.13 Ga and 2.16 Ga, respectively, and they were also overprinted by metamorphic events at 1.97–1.90 Ga and 1.89–1.79Ga. Compilation of U-Pb ages of magmatic detrital and metamorphic zircons suggested that the main part of the DMC may have been formed at 2.1–2.0 Ga. Zircon Lu-Hf isotope data show that the source materials of the main part of the DMC were originated from the reworking of ancient Archean crust(3.45–2.78 Ga). The Hf isotope characteristics and the tectonothermal event records exhibit different evolution history with the Khondalite Belt and the Yinshan Block and the other basements of the Alxa Block, indicating that the Langshan was likely an independent terrain before the middle Paleoproterozoic and was subjected to the middle to late Paleoproterozoic tectonothermal events with the Khondalite Belt as a whole.NIU Pengfei QU Junfeng ZHANG Jin ZHANG Beihang ZHAO Heng 2022Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2022,96,5:1
12Scientific objectives of the Hot Universe Baryon Surveyor(HUBS) mission显示文摘The Hot Universe Baryon Surveyor(HUBS) is a proposed space-based X-ray telescope for detecting X-ray emissions from the hot gas content in our universe. With its unprecedented spatially-resolved high-resolution spectroscopy and large field of view,the HUBS mission will be uniquely qualified to measure the physical and chemical properties of the hot gas in the interstellar medium, the circumgalactic medium, the intergalactic medium, and the intracluster medium. These measurements will be valuable for two key scientific goals of HUBS, namely to unravel the AGN and stellar feedback physics that governs the formation and evolution of galaxies, and to probe the baryon budget and multi-phase states from galactic to cosmological scales. In addition to these two goals, the HUBS mission will also help us solve some problems in the fields of galaxy clusters, AGNs, difuse X-ray backgrounds, supernova remnants, and compact objects. 14The genomic characteristics and pathogenicity of a mammalian orthoreovirus within a new lineage from wild pika in plateau显示文摘Emerging and re-emerging viruses from wild animals have seriously threatened the health of humans and domesticated animals in recent years.Herein,we isolated a new mammalian orthoreovirus(MRV),Pika/MRV/GCCDC7/2019(PMRV-GCCDC7),in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau wild pika(Ochotona curzoniae).Though the PMRVGCCDC7 shows features of a typical reovirus with ten gene segments arranged in 3:3:4 in length,the virus belongs to an independent evolutionary branch compared to other MRVs based on phylogenetic tree analysis.The results of cellular susceptibility,species tropism,and replication kinetics of PMRV-GCCDC7 indicated the virus could infect four human cell lines(A549,Huh7,HCT,and LoVo)and six non-human cell lines,including Vero-E6,LLCMK2,BHK-21,N2a,MDCK,and RfKT cell,derived from diverse mammals,i.e.monkey,mice,canine and bat,which revealed the potential of PMRV-GCCDC7 to infect a variety of hosts.Infection of BALB/c mice with PMRVGCCDC7 via intranasal inoculation led to relative weight loss,lung tissue damage and inflammation with the increase of virus titer,but no serious respiratory symptoms and death occurred.The characterization of the new reovirus from a plateau-based wild animal has expanded our knowledge of the host range of MRV and provided insight into its risk of trans-species transmission and zoonotic diseases.Kexin Zong Yuanyuan Guo Jingdong Song Maoshun Liu Junfeng Hao Jie Zhang Xin Li Shiyan Zhu Shuting Huo Ziqian Xu Peipei Liu Yingze Zhao Yuhai Bi Jiapeng Qu George F.Gao Jun Liu 2023Virologica Sinica2023,38,6:0

16Development of a High-Temperature Thixotropic Cement Slurry System显示文摘Cementing carbonate reservoirs is generally a difficult task.The so-called thixotropic cement slurry has gained considerable attention in this regard as it can help tofix some notable problems.More precisely,it can easilyfill the leakage layer;moreover,its gelling strength can grow rapidly when pumping stops,thereby increasing the resistance to gas channeling,effectively preventing this undesired phenomenon in many cases.High-temperature thixotropic cement slurry systems,however,are still in an early stage of development and additional research is needed to make them a viable option.In the present study,using a self-developed composite high-temperature thixotropic additive as a basis,it is shown that the compressive strength can be adjusted by tuning the proportion of silica sand,the high-temperature retarder,fluid loss additive and dispersant(compatible with the thixotropic additive).According to the tests,the developed high-temperature thixotropic cement slurry system has a 14 d compressive strength of 29.73 MPa at 150°C,and a thickening time of 330 min when the dosage of retarder is 2%.At the same time,the rheological property,water loss,permeability,water separation rate,and settlement stability of the cement slurry system meet the requirements of cementing construction.Ping Lv Jiufei Liu Mengran Xu Hui Tian Huajie Liu Yuhuan Bu Zhuang Cai Junfeng Qu 2023Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,11:0
17Observatory science with eXTP显示文摘In this White Paper we present the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to Observatory Science targets. These include flaring stars, supernova remnants, accreting white dwarfs, low and high mass X-ray binaries, radio quiet and radio loud active galactic nuclei, tidal disruption events, and gamma-ray bursts. eXTP will be excellently suited to study one common aspect of these objects: their often transient nature.
