Transportation characteristics of δ^(13)C in the plants-soil-bedrock-cave system in Chongqing karst area显示文摘Here we use an analytical method to determine δ13C in local plants and organic matter in the soils above Furong cave,Chongqing,China. We also monitored δ13C in dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC) of drip water,δ13C of active deposits under the drip waters, and the concentration of air CO2(PCO2).Based on these,we preliminarily studied the transportation characteristics of stable carbon isotope(13C) in cave system of the subtropical karst area. The average δ13C value of 27 local plant samples, which belong to 16 families, was -32‰ and the weighted δ13C for surface dry biomass was -33‰.We found that for 54 soil samples collected from 5 soil profiles,δ13C of soil organic matters was -22‰,which could be attributed to the different transportation rates of stable carbon isotopes during the decomposition of plants and organic matters in soils. The relatively lighter 12C tended to transfer into gaseous CO2,which made the relatively heavier 13C concentrated in the soils. On the basis of monitoring of DIC-δ13C in drip waters from July 2009 to June 2010,we found that values in winter months were heavier and values in summer months were lighter in general, the reason of which was that in summer months, both the temperature and the humidity were comparatively higher, resulted in more CO2 with lighter δ13C generated from organic matters decomposition and plants respiration. The average DIC -δ13C value was -11‰,about 11‰ heavier than the δ13C of organic matters in soils, which proved that part of DIC in cave drip water was sourced from dissolution of inorganic carbonate(host rock, with heavier δ13C).As for the δ13C of active deposits at five drip water sites in Furong cave, they had almost the same variation with relatively light values. In other words, these active speleothems were deposited at equilibrium conditions for isotopic fractionation. These results suggest that the carbon isotopic information of speleothems could be used to track the evolution of local vegetation in certain situations.Li TingYong Li HongChun Xiang XiaoJing Kuo Tz-Shing Li JunYun Zhou FuLi Chen HongLi Peng LingLi 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,4:18

Characteristics and environmental significance of Ca, Mg, and Sr in the soil infiltrating water overlying the Furong Cave,Chongqing, China显示文摘This paper explores the influence of the local meteoric conditions, the overlying soil on the concentrations of Ca,Mg,and Sr,and the ratios of Mg/Ca,Sr/Ca,and Mg/Sr in soil infiltrating water(SIW).An in situ monitoring program was carried out above the Furong Cave throughout 2010 to collect data on SIW,monthly temperature and rainfall, and the geochemical composition and granularity of soils. The discharge of SIW responded quickly to the local rainfall, and its residence time was the primary factor affecting the Ca,Mg,and Sr content of the SIW.The high concentrations of Ca,Mg,and Sr in the SIW during April should be attributed primarily to the prolonged residence of SIW in the soil during the local dry seasons of winter and early spring. The maximum Mg/Sr ratio also occurred in April. The ratio of Mg/Ca in SIW is positively correlated with prolonged residence time and with high temperatures, which do not strongly affect the ratio of Sr/Ca.The Mg/Ca ratio was lowest when the Sr/Ca ratio was highest because plant metabolism increased the absorption of Ca and Mg,but not Sr,and also because higher temperatures enhanced the dissolution of Mg more than that of Sr.These different responses of Mg and Sr to temperature increases resulted in high Mg/Sr ratios during July and August.LI JunYun LI TingYong WANG JianLi XIANG XiaoJing CHEN YunXuan LI Xuan 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,12:6
Circulating Tumor DNA as Biomarkers for CancerDetection显示文摘Detection of circulating tumor DNAs(ct DNAs) in cancer patients is an important component of cancer precision medicine ct DNAs. Compared to the traditional physical and biochemical methods, blood-based ct DNA detection offers a non-invasive and easily accessible way for cancer diagnosis, prognostic determination, and guidance for treatment. While studies on this topic are currently underway, clinical translation of ct DNA detection in various types of cancers has been attracting much attention, due to the great potential of ct DNA as blood-based biomarkers for early diagnosis and treatment of cancers. ct DNAs are detected and tracked primarily based on tumorrelated genetic and epigenetic alterations. In this article, we reviewed the available studies on ct DNA detection and described the representative methods. We also discussed the current understanding of ct DNAs in cancer patients and their availability as potential biomarkers for clinical purposes. Considering the progress made and challenges involved in accurate detection of specific cell-free nucleic acids, ct DNAs hold promise to serve as biomarkers for cancer patients, and further validation is needed prior to their broad clinical use.Xiao Han Junyun Wang Yingli Sun 2017Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2017,15,2:6
DNA methylation signatures in circulating cell-free DNA as biomarkers for the early detection of cancer显示文摘Detecting cell-free DNA(cfDNA) or circulating tumor DNA(ctDNA) in plasma or serum could serve as a 'liquid biopsy', which would be useful for numerous diagnostic applications. cfDNA methylation detection is one of the most promising approaches for cancer risk assessment. Here, we reviewed the literature related to the use of serum or plasma circulating cell-free DNA for cancer diagnosis in the early stage and their power as future biomarkers.Junyun Wang Xiao Han Yingli Sun 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,4:3
Precision Grinding of Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide Using Coarse Grain Size Diamond Wheels显示文摘Reaction bonded SiC(RBSiC) is attractive for optical application because of its favorable properties and low fabrication cost. However, the difficultness and cost involved in RBSiC grinding limit its application. The investigation on high efficient and low-cost machining with good grinding quality is desired. Generally, high efficient machining for RBSiC is realized by using coarse grain size grinding wheels, but serious grinding damage is inevitable. In this paper, monolayer nickel electroplated coarse grain size diamond grinding wheels with grain sizes of 46 μm, 91 μm, and 151 μm were applied to the grinding of RBSiC. An electrolytic in-process dressing(ELID) assisted conditioning technique was first developed by using cup shape copper bonded conditioning wheels with grain sizes of 15 μm and 91 μm to generate the conditioned coarse grain size wheels with minimized wheel run-out error within 2 μm, constant wheel peripheral envelop as well as top-flattened diamond grains. Then, the grinding experiments on RBSiC were carried out to investigate the grinding performance and material removal mechanism. The experimental results indicate that the developed conditioning technique is applicable and feasible to condition the coarse grain size diamond wheels under optimal conditioning parameters, and the material removal mechanism involved in RBSiC grinding is the combination of brittle fracture and ductile deformation to generate smooth ground surface. This research is significant for the high efficient and low-cost precision grinding of RBSiC with good ground surface quality.ZHAO Qingliang CHEN Junyun BRINKSMEIER E 2010Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,3:3

Human activity and climate change triggered the expansion of rocky desertification in the karst areas of Southwestern China显示文摘It is conducive to the sustainable development of human beings in karst regions to research the mechanism of karst rocky desertification(KRD)expansion.Whether the large-scale KRD in southwestern China is caused by climate change or human activities is still controversial. In this study, the evolution of the KRD in southwestern China over the past 2000 years was reconstructed through the high-precisionδ^(13)C record of stalagmites from Shijiangjun(SJJ)Cave,Guizhou Province,China.Theδ^(13)C of the stalagmites from SJJ Cave exhibited heavy values from the Medieval Warm Period(MWP)to the Little Ice Age(LIA).Furthermore,theδ^(13)C records of other stalagmites and tufa from southwestern China also showed the same significant heavy trend.Because the stalagmiteδ^(13)C could record the change of ecological environment,it indicated that the consistent change of the stalagmitesδ^(13)C may record the process of KRD expansion in the karst regions of southwestern China.During the MWP,the stronger Asian summer monsoon and the northward movement of the rain belt led to a dry period in southwestern China and a wet period in northern China. In contrast,it was wet in southwestern China and dry in northern China during the LIA.In addition, after the Jing-Kang event(JK event,AD1127)occurred at the end of the Northern Song dynasty, the political and economic center of China migrated to southern China for the first time, which changed the population distribution pattern of larger population in the north and smaller population in the south. Therefore, the expansion of KRD in southwestern China was exacerbated in the MWP due to the change of climate in southwestern China, the migration of a large number of people, wars, the large-scale reclamation of arable land, and the cultivation of large areas of crops.Chaojun CHEN Daoxian YUAN Hai CHENG Tsailuen YU Chuanchou SHEN RLawrence EDWARDS Yao WU Siya XIAO Jian ZHANG Tao WANG Ran HUANG Ziqi LIU Tingyong LI Junyun LI 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,10:1

Design and experiment of fuzzy-PID based tillage depth control system for a self-propelled electric tiller显示文摘The research on the self-propelled electric tiller is vital for further improving the quality and efficiency of greenhouse rotary tillage operation, reducing the work intensity and operation risk of operators, and achieving environmentally friendly characteristics. Most of the existing self-propelled tillers rely on manual adjustment of the tillage depth. Moreover, the consistency and stability of the tillage depth are difficult to guarantee. In this study, the automatic control method of tillage depth of a self-propelled electric tiller is investigated.A method of applying the fuzzy PID(Proportional Integral Derivative)control method to the tillage depth adjustment system of a tiller is also proposed to realize automatic control. The system uses the real-time detection of the resistance sensor and angle sensor. The controller runs the electronically controlled hydraulic system to adjust the force and position comprehensively. The fuzzy control algorithm is used in the operation error control to realize the double-parameter control of the tillage depth. The simulation and experimental verification of the system are conducted. Results show that the control system applying fuzzy PID can improve the soil breaking rate by 3%in the operation process based on reducing the stability variation of tillage depth by 24%.The control strategy can reach the set value of tillage depth quickly and accurately. It can also meet the requirement of tillage depth consistency during the operation.Maohua Xiao Ye Ma Chen Wang Junyun Chen Yejun Zhu Petr Bartos Guosheng Geng 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,4:0
High-throughput transcriptional profiling of perturbations by Panax ginseng saponins and Panax notoginseng saponins using TCM-seq显示文摘Panax ginseng(PG)and Panax notoginseng(PN)are highly valuable Chinese medicines(CM).Although both CMs have similar active constituents, their clinical applications are clearly different.Over the past decade,RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)analysis has been employed to investigate the molecular mechanisms of extracts or monomers. However, owing to the limited number of samples in standard RNA-seq,few studies have systematically compared the effects of PG and PN spanning multiple conditions at the transcriptomic level. Here,we developed an approach that simultaneously profiles transcriptome changes for multiplexed samples using RNA-seq(TCM-seq),a high-throughput,low-cost workflow to molecularly evaluate CM perturbations.A species-mixing experiment was conducted to illustrate the accuracy of sample multiplexing in TCM-seq.Transcriptomes from repeated samples were used to verify the robustness of TCM-seq.We then focused on the primary active components,Panax notoginseng saponins(PNS)and Panax ginseng saponins(PGS)extracted from PN and PG,respectively. We also characterized the transcriptome changes of 10 cell lines, treated with four different doses of PNS and PGS,using TCM-seq to compare the differences in their perturbing effects on genes, functional pathways, gene modules, and molecular networks. The results of transcriptional data analysis showed that the transcriptional patterns of various cell lines were significantly distinct.PGS exhibited a stronger regulatory effect on genes involved in cardiovascular disease, whereas PNS resulted in a greater coagulation effect on vascular endothelial cells. This study proposes a paradigm to comprehensively explore the differences in mechanisms of action between CMs based on transcriptome readouts.Junyun Cheng Jie Chen Jie Liao Tianhao Wang Xin Shao Jinbo Long Penghui Yang Anyao Li Zheng Wang Xiaoyan Lu Xiaohui Fan 2023Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,4:0
