| 1 | Atmospheric environmental capacity and urban atmospheric load in China's Mainland显示文摘Daily and annual average atmospheric environmental capacity coefficient(A-value) sequences for China's Mainland are calculated from hourly data recorded at 378 ground stations over 1975–2014. A-values at different recurrence intervals are calculated by fitting the sequences to Pearson type III distribution curves. Based on these A-values and source-sink balance(reference concentration 100 μg m^(-3)), atmospheric environmental capacities at the recurrence intervals are calculated for all of China's Mainland and each provincial administrative region. The climate average atmospheric environmental capacity reference value for the entire mainland is 2.169×10~7 t yr^(-1). An urban atmospheric load index is defined for analyses of the impact of population density on the urban atmospheric environment. Analyses suggest that this index is also useful for differentiating whether air quality changes are attributable to varying meteorological conditions or variations of artificial emission rate.Equations guiding the control of unorganized emission sources are derived for preventing air quality deterioration during urban expansion and population concentration. | XU DaHai WANG Yu ZHU Rong | 2018 | Science China Earth Sciences2018,61,1: | 7 |

| 3 | Biological identity of nanomaterials:Opportunities and challenges显示文摘The emergence of nanoparticles(NPs)has attracted tremendous interest of the scientific community for decades due to their unique properties and potential applications in diverse areas,including drug delivery and therapy.Many novel NPs have been synthesized and used to reduce drug toxicity,improve bio-availability,prolong circulation time,control drug release,and actively target to desired cells or tissues.However,clinical translation of NPs with the goal of treating particularly challenging diseases,such as cancer,will require a thorough understanding of how the NP properties influence their fate in biological systems,especially in vivo.Many efforts have been paid to studying the interactions and mechanisms of NPs and cells.Unless deliberately designed,the NPs in contact with biological fluids are rapidly covered by a selected group of biomolecules especially proteins to form a corona that interacts with biological systems.In this view,the recent development of NPs in drug delivery and the interactions of NPs with cells and proteins are summarized.By understanding the protein-NP interactions,some guidelines for safety design of NPs,challenges and future perspectives are discussed. | DENG Jun YU DaHai GAO ChangYou | 2013 | Science China Chemistry2013,56,11: | 3 |

| 5 | One-step synthesis of dimethyl ether from syngas on ordered mesoporous copper incorporated alumina显示文摘Ordered mesoporous copper incorporated Al_2O_3(Cu/Al_2O_3) with high Cu dispersion were prepared by a facile solution combustion synthesis method using aluminum nitrate and copper nitrate as oxidants and urea as fuel. It is a facile and green route to synthesize catalysts for dimethyl ether directly from syngas. Cu/Al_2O_3 catalysts were characterized by XRD, N_2 adsorption–desorption, SEM-EDS, and H_2-TPR.The results indicate that the catalysts obtain an ordered mesoporous structure and copper is homogenously dispersed. The mesoporous Cu/Al_2O_3 catalysts were utilized as bifunctional catalysts in syngas to dimethyl ether reaction(STD). The copper content affects the catalytic performance in STD reaction. The CO conversion and DME selectivity of Cu/Al_2O_3 with 15% copper molar ratio achieve 52.9% and 66.1%,respectively. | 16 | Involvement of insulin in early development of mouse one-cell stage embryos显示文摘Recent studies have suggested that growth factors and hormones play important roles in cell prolif-eration and differentiation during early embryonic development. In the present study, we examined the expression and localization of insulin in the mouse oocytes and one-cell stage embryos by quantitative ELISA, RT-PCR, Western blot and immunofluorescence. In the mouse oocytes and one-cell stage em-bryos, expression of insulin was uniformly distributed in the cytoplasm. We also examined the expres-sion, activity and localization of mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) and p70S6K. The expression of mTOR and p70S6K was not significantly different at the cell cycle of mouse one-cell stage embryos. mTOR and S6K were distributed evenly in the cytoplasm at G1, G2 and M phase phase, but at S phase, the distribution of mTOR and S6K was around the pronucleus. At different phases, the activity of mTOR fluctuated. We also used the PI3K specific inhibitor-Wortmannin to investigate the cleavage rate of eggs. The result showed that the rate obviously decreased. When the mTOR specific inhibitor Rapa-mycin was used, the first mitotic division of the mouse one-cell stage embryo was delayed. | 19 | Spin-decoupled metalens with intensity-tunable multiple focal points显示文摘The control of spin electromagnetic(EM)waves is of great significance in optical communications.Although geometric metasurfaces have shown unprecedented capability to manipulate the wavefronts of spin EM waves,it is still challenging to independently manipulate each spin state and intensity distribution,which inevitably degrades metasurface-based devices for further applications.Here we propose and experimentally demonstrate an approach to designing spin-decoupled metalenses based on pure geometric phase,i.e.,geometric metasurfaces with predesigned phase modulation possessing functionalities of both convex lenses and concave lenses.Under the illumination of left-/right-handed circularly polarized(LCP or RCP)terahertz(THz)waves,these metalenses can generate transversely/longitudinally distributed RCP/LCP multiple focal points.Since the helicity-dependent multiple focal points are locked to the polarization state of incident THz waves,the relative intensity between two orthogonal components can be controlled with different weights of LCP and RCP THz waves,leading to the intensity-tunable functionality.This robust approach for simultaneously manipulating orthogonal spin states and energy distributions of spin EM waves will open a new avenue for designing multifunctional devices and integrated communication systems. | BINGSHUANG YAO XIAOFEI ZANG YANG ZHU DAHAI YU JINGYA XIE LIN CHEN SEN HAN YIMING ZHU SONGLIN ZHUANG | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,6: | 1 |
