Spatio-temporal analysis and simulation on shallow rainfall-induced landslides in China using landslide susceptibility dynamics and rainfall I-D thresholds显示文摘An empirical simulation method to simulate the possible position of shallow rainfall-induced landslides in China has been developed. This study shows that such a simulation may be operated in real-time to highlight those areas that are highly prone to rainfall-induced landslides on the basis of the landslide susceptibility index and the rainfall intensity-duration(I-D) thresholds.First, the study on landslide susceptibility in China is introduced. The entire territory has been classified into five categories, among which high-susceptibility regions(Zone 4-'High' and 5-'Very high') account for 4.15%of the total extension of China.Second, rainfall is considered as an external triggering factor that may induce landslide initiation.Real-time satellite-based TMPA3B42 products may provide real rainfall spatial and temporal patterns, which may be used to derive rainfall duration time and intensity.By using a historical record of 60 significant past landslides, the rainfall I-D equation has been calibrated. The rainfall duration time that may trigger a landslide has resulted between 3 hours and 45 hours. The combination of these two aspects can be exploited to simulate the spatiotemporal distribution of rainfall-induced landslide hazards when rainfall events exceed the rainfall I-D thresholds, where the susceptibility category is 'high' or 'very high'.This study shows a useful tool to be part of a systematic landslide simulation methodology, potentially providing useful information for a theoretical basis and practical guide for landslide prediction and mitigation throughout China. | LI WeiYue LIU Chun Marco SCAIONI SUN WeiWei CHEN Yu YAO DongJing CHEN Sheng HONG Yang ZHANG KaiHang CHENG GuoDong | 2017 | Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,4: | 5
Angular color uniformity enhancement of white light-emitting diodes by remote micro-patterned phosphor film显示文摘Angular color uniformity(ACU)is a key factor used to evaluate the light quality of white-light emitting diodes(LEDs).In this study,a novel double remote micro-patterned phosphor film(double RMPP film)was used to enhance the ACU of a remote phosphor(RP)down-light lamp.A conventional RP film and remote phosphor film with single micro-patterned film(single RMPP film)also were examined for comparison. The angular correlated color temperature(CCT)distributions and the optical performance of the films were experimentally measured. The measurement results showed that double RMPP film configuration exhibited better color uniformity with a CCT deviation of only 441 K,compared with 556 K for the single RMPP film configuration and 1390 K for the RP film configuration.A simulation based on FDTD and ray tracing combined method also confirmed the ACU improvement. In addition, compared with the conventional RP film, the luminous efficiency of single and double RMPP film configurations was increased by 6.68% and 4.69%,respectively,at a driving current of 350 mA.The enhancement of the ACU and luminous efficiency are due to the scattering and mixing effect of the micropatterned film. Moreover, the double RMPP film configuration had better CCT stability at different currents than the other two configurations. The results demonstrated the effectiveness and superiority of double RMPP film in white LED applications. | Shudong Yu Zongtao Li Guanwei Liang Yong Tang Binhai Yu Kaihang Chen | 2016 | Photonics Research2016,4,4: | 5
Enhanced optical and thermal performance of white light-emitting diodes with horizontally layered quantum dots phosphor nanocomposites显示文摘Due to their good color rendering ability, white light-emitting diodes(WLEDs) with conventional phosphor and quantum dots(QDs) are gaining increasing attention. However, their optical and thermal performances are still limited especially for the ones with QDs-phosphor mixed nanocomposites. In this work, we propose a novel packaging scheme with horizontally layered QDs-phosphor nanocomposites to obtain an enhanced optical and thermal performance for WLEDs. Three different WLEDs, including QDs-phosphor mixed type, QDsoutside type, and QDs-inside type, were fabricated and compared. With 30 wt. % phosphor and 0.15 wt. % QDs nanocomposite, the QDs-outside type WLED shows a 21.8% increase of luminous efficiency, better color rendering ability, and a 27.0% decrease of the maximum nanocomposite temperature at 400 mA, compared with the mixed-type WLED. The reduced re-absorption between phosphor and QDs is responsible for the performance enhancement when they are separated. However, such reduced absorption can be traded off by the improper layered configuration, which is demonstrated by the worst performance of the QDs-inside type. Further, we demonstrate that the higher energy transfer efficiency between excitation light and nanocomposite in the QDs-outside type WLED is the key reason for its enhanced optical and thermal performance. | SHUDONG Yu YONG TANG ZONGTAO LI KAIHANG CHEN XINRUI DING AND BINHAI Yu | 2018 | Photonics Research2018,6,2: | 2
Strain tuned efficient heterostructure photoelectrodes显示文摘van der Waals (vdWs) heterostructures based on two-dimensional (2D) materials have become a promising candidate for photoelectrochemical (PEC) catalyst not only because of the freedom in materials design that enable the band-offset construction and facilitate the charge separation. They also provide a platform for the study of various of interface effect in PEC. Here, we report a new kind of mixed-dimensional vdWs heterostructure photoelectrode and investigate the strain enhanced PEC performance at vdWs interfaces. Our heterostructures are composed of 2D n-type MoS_(2) nanosheets and three-dimensional (3D) p-type Cu_(2)O nanorod arrays (NRAs), where Cu_(2)O NRAs introduce periodically strain in the p-n junction interface. We find a promotion of the HER catalytic activities in heterostructure based PEC photoelectrodes using in-situ measurement techniques including the scanning electrochemical cell microscopy and various local spectrum probe measurements. This is attributed to the efficient charge separation at the strained heterointerface. Our results demonstrate an interesting venue for understanding the local interface effects with high spatial resolution, and shed light on design and developing high-efficiency photoelectrodes. 1L MoS_(2)/Cu_(2)O vdWs heterostructure photocathodes were prepared by nanoindentation technology. The effects of strain on promoting charge separation at the heterointerface were verified by the enhanced performances in PEC hydrogen evolution reaction of vdWs heterostructure through scanning electrochemical cell microscopy technique and various local spectrum probe measurements. | Haihong Zheng Mingyang Li Jinsong Chen Anchang Quan Kaihang Ye Hang Ren Sheng Hu Yang Cao | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,3: | 0
Chitin oligosaccharides for the food industry:production and applications显示文摘Chitin oligosaccharides(CHOS),high-value-added oligomers linked by N-acetyl-d-glucosamine(GlcNAc,NAG),and a small amount of d-glucosamine(GlcN,GA),have aroused increasing interest due to their excellent biological properties, including antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,and immunoprotective activities, and intestinal regulation. The efficient production and utilization of CHOS with high performance can solve problems from chitin as biowaste. However, the large-scale production of well-defined CHOS has not been fully accomplished due to the limited biotechnology and separation methods, thus impeding the research on their biological functions as well as their accurate applications. In this review,we comprehensively summarize the current preparation methods of CHOS,including the chemical, physical, enzymatic and biosynthetic methods. The advantages and disadvantages of the methods are discussed in terms of efficiency, economy, and environmental effects.Furthermore, the applications of CHOS in the food industry and their contributions to human health based on their excellent bioactivities are expounded. It is hoped that this review will help in providing new insights into the production of CHOS with high precision, and support the application of CHOS in serving the food industry as nutritional supplements or foods for special medical purposes. | Ran Zhang Qiong Zhao Zhenwei Yi Kaihang Zhang Jinqi Shi Liangliang Zhu Yijia Chen Jiayang Jin Liming Zhao | 2023 | Systems Microbiology and Biomanufacturing2023,3,1: | 0
DITCHES AND PONDS CAN BE THE SOURCES OR SINKS OF NON-POINT SOURCE POLLUTION:OBSERVATIONS IN AN UPLAND AREA IN THE JINGLINXI CATCHMENT,CHINA显示文摘As the common features of agroecosystems, ditches and ponds benefit the irrigation and drainage,as well as intercepting non-point source pollutants. However, most ditch-pond studies have been conducted in lowland areas. To test this source-sink assumption in upland areas, this study made observations on the ecological function of the ditch and pond system in a typical catchment in China.First, the changes in ponds in the catchment were analyzed using high-resolution remote sensing data. Then, the migration of agricultural pollutants in ditches and ponds were analyzed by field sampling and laboratory detection. The results showed that over the past 15 years the length of ditches in the catchment and the number of small ponds(<500 m2)have increased by 32%and 75%,respectively.The rate of change in nutrient concentrations in the ditches and ponds were mostly from-20%to 20%,indicating ditches and ponds can be both sources and sinks for agricultural pollutants.Lastly, the contributing factors were explored and it was found that ditches and ponds are important sinks in dry season. However, during the rainy season, ditches and ponds become sources of pollutants, with the rapid drainage of ditches and the overflow of ponds in upland areas. The results of this study revealed that the ditches and ponds could be used for ecological engineering in upland catchments to balance drainage and intercept pollutants. | Yiwen WANG Lei CHEN Kaihang ZHU Chenxi GUO Yu PU ZhenyaoSHEN | 2023 | Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2023,10,4: | 0
