1Screening for gastric cancer in China:Advances,challenges and visions显示文摘Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the major cancers in China and all over the world.Most GCs are diagnosed at an advanced stage with unfavorable prognosis.Along with some other countries,China has developed the government-funded national screening programs for GC and other major cancers.GC screening has been shown to effectively decrease the incidence of and mortality from GC in countries adopting nationwide screening programs(Japan and Korea)and in studies based on selected Chinese populations.The screening of GC relies mostly on gastroendoscopy,the accuracy,reliability and safety of which have been indicated by previous studies.However,considering its invasive screening approach,requirements on skilled endoscopists and pathologists,and a high cost,developing noninvasive methods to amend endoscopic screening would be highly needed.Numerous studies have examined biomarkers for GC screening and the combination of biomarkers involving pepsinogen,gastrin,and Helicobacter pylori antibodies has been proposed for risk stratification,seeking to narrow down the high-risk populations for further endoscopy.Despite all the achievements of endoscopic screening,evidence on appropriate screening age,intervals for repeated screening,novel biomarkers promoting precision prevention,and health economics need to be accumulated to inform policymakers on endoscopic screening in China.With the guide of Health China 2030 Planning Outline,we have golden opportunities to promote prevention and control of GC.In this review,we summarize the characteristics of screening programs in China and other East Asian countries and introduce the past and current approaches and strategies for GC screening,aiming for featuring the latest advances and key challenges,and illustrating future visions of GC screening.Xiaohan Fan Xiangxiang Qin Yang Zhang Zhexuan Li Tong Zhou Jingying Zhang Weicheng You Wenqing Li Kaifeng Pan 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2:21
2Vision,application scenarios,and key technology trends for 6G mobile communications显示文摘With the global commercialization of the fifth-generation(5G)network,many countries,including China,USA,European countries,Japan,and Korea,have started exploring 6G mobile communication network,following the tradition of“planning the next while commercializing one generation”.Currently,studies on 6G networks are at the infancy stage.Research on the vision and requirements for 6G is still ongoing,and the industry is yet to clarify the key enabling technologies for 6G.However,6G will certainly build on the success of 5G.Therefore,developing high-quality 5G networks and seamlessly integrating 5G with verticals are the priorities before 2030,when 6G is projected to be commercialized.Also,global 5G standards will keep evolving to better support vertical applications.As a milestone,the Third-Generation Partnership Project(3GPP)published Release 16 in July 2020,which continuously enhanced the capabilities of mobile broadband service based on Release 15 and realized the support for low-delay and high-reliability applications,such as Internet of Vehicles and industrial Internet.Currently,3GPP is working on Releases 17 and 18,focusing on meeting the demands of medium-and high-data-rate machine communication with low-cost and high-precision positioning,which will be published in June 2022.Thus,6G networks will further expand the application fields and scope of the Internet of Things to accommodate those services and applications that are beyond the capabilities of 5G networks.Herein,we present our vision,application scenarios,and key technological trends for 6G networks.Furthermore,we propose several future research opportunities in 6G networks with regard to industrialization and standardization.Zhiqin WANG Ying DU Kejun WEI Kaifeng HAN Xiaoyan XU Guiming WEI Wen TONG Peiying ZHU Jianglei MA Jun WANG Guangjian WANG Xueqiang YAN Jiying XIANG He HUANG Ruyue LI Xinhui WANG Yingmin WANG Shaohui SUN Shiqiang SUO Qiubin GAO Xin SU 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,5:17
3A systematic review of metabolomic profiling of gastric cancer and esophageal cancer显示文摘Objective:Upper gastrointestinal(UGI)cancers,predominantly gastric cancer(GC)and esophageal cancer(EC),are malignant tumor types with high morbidity and mortality rates.Accumulating studies have focused on metabolomic profiling of UGI cancers in recent years.In this systematic review,we have provided a collective summary of previous findings on metabolites and metabolomic profiling associated with GC and EC.Methods:A systematic search of three databases(Embase,PubMed,and Web of Science)for molecular epidemiologic studies on the metabolomic profiles of GC and EC was conducted.The Newcastle–Ottawa Scale(NOS)was used to assess the quality of the included articles.Results:A total of 52 original studies were included for review.A number of metabolites were differentially distributed between GC and EC cases and non-cases,including those involved in glycolysis,anaerobic respiration,tricarboxylic acid cycle,and protein and lipid metabolism.Lactic acid,glucose,citrate,and fumaric acid were among the most frequently reported metabolites of cellular respiration while glutamine,glutamate,and valine were among the most commonly reported amino acids.The lipid metabolites identified previously included saturated and unsaturated free fatty acids,aldehydes,and ketones.However,the key findings across studies to date have been inconsistent,potentially due to limited sample sizes and the majority being hospital-based case-control analyses lacking an independent replication group.Conclusions:Studies on metabolomics have thus far provided insights into etiological factors and biomarkers for UGI cancers,supporting the potential of applying metabolomic profiling in cancer prevention and management efforts.Sha Huang Yang Guo Zhexuan Li Yang Zhang Tong Zhou Weicheng You Kaifeng Pan Wenqing Li 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,1:11

5In vitro thyroid disrupting effects of organic extracts from WWTPs in Beijing显示文摘It is generally known that there are many endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) in the effluents from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Most research has focused on the occurrence of estrogenic or androgenic activities, while ignoring that there are environmental chemicals disrupting thyroid system, which is essential for growth and development in both humans and animals. In the present work, a two-hybrid yeast assay was conducted to evaluate the removal efficiencies of agonistic or antagonistic thyroid receptor (TR) mediated effects in different treatment processes of three WWTPs located in Beijing. We found no TR agonistic, but TR antagonistic activities in all processes from the WWTPs. The TR antagonistic activities in organic extracts of water samples were then calibrated regarding to a known TR-inhibitor, amiodarone hydrochloride (AH). The observed concentration of TR disrupting substances ranged from 2.35 × 10 8 to 6.19 × 10 7 mol/L AH in Gaobeidian WWTP, 3.76 × 10 8 to 8.75 × 10 8 mol/L AH in Lugouqiao WWTP, and 4.80 × 10 9 to 2.55 × 10 8 mol/L AH in Beixiaohe WWTP. Of the three WWTPs, the removal rates were 92.7%, 42.2%, and 23.1% respectively. Industrial sewage may contain more TR disrupting substances compared with domestic sewage. 8Determination of estrogens and estrogenic activities in water from three rivers in Tianjin, China显示文摘Studies on estrogenic disrupting compounds(EDCs) occurrence and identification of main responsible compounds in river water discharged into the sea are of significance.In the present research,we screened estrogenic activities of 10 river water samples from 3 main rivers discharged into Bohai Sea in Tianjin using a recombinant two-hybrid yeast assay and chemical analysis by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.All sample extracts induced significant estrogenic activity,with 17β-estradiol equivalents(EEQ) of raw water ranging from 5.72 to 59.06 ng/L.Six most concerned EDCs in the river water samples including estrone,17β-estradiol,17α-ethinylestradiol,estriol,diethylstilbestrol and estradiol valerate were determined,with their concentrations up to 50.70,31.40,24.40,37.20,2.56,and 8.47 ng/L,respectively.Through causality analysis by comparing the EEQ values of yeast assay and chemical analysis,17α-ethinylestradiol and 17β-estradiol were identified as the main contributors to the estrogenic effects of the river samples,accounting for the whole estrogenic activities(62.99% to 185.66%),and estrogen antagonistic compounds might presented in the heavy polluted water samples.The proposed approach using both chemical analysis and bioassay could be used for identification and evaluation of the estrogenic activity of EDCs in river water.Kaifeng Rao Bingli Lei Na Li Mei Ma Zijian Wang 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,6:6

10Retinoid X receptor activities of source waters in China and their removal efficiencies during drinking water treatment processes显示文摘There is increasing evidence of estrogenic activities of source waters and drinking waters in China based on estrogen receptors(ERs) testing.However,relating such activities to retinoid X receptors(RXRs) in both drinking and source waters are lacking.To rectify this situation,we assessed 23 source water samples from six major river systems in China.We also collected samples at various stages of water processing from three drinking water treatment plants(DWTPs) using a two-hybrid RXR yeast assay with and without metabolism.No RXR agonistic activity was observed,but significant antagonistic activity was detected in all sample extracts.The RXR antagonistic activities of source water sample extracts ranged from 15.2% to 57.8% without metabolism and 11.5% to 68.3% with metabolism,respectively.In the drinking water treatment processes,RXR antagonistic activities without metabolism and with metabolism of up to 31.4% and 37.5% were removed,respectively.Nevertheless,the remaining RXR antagonists in treated drinking water from these source waters could still be harmful to human health.To the best of our knowledge,the occurrence of in vitro RXR disruption activities in source and drinking water has not been previously reported in China.Therefore,an attempt was made to conduct detailed studies investigating RXR disrupting activities and their possible risks in source and drinking water.JIANG WeiWei YAN Ye LI Na MA Mei WANG DongHong RAO KaiFeng WANG ZiJian SATYANARAYANAN Senthi Kumaran 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,6:5
11Countermeasures and Investigation of Land Circulation in Less Developed Agricultural Area of Henan Province,China显示文摘Some places in Henan Province are investigated by using sample surveys and interviews. Result shows that land circulation in less developed agricultural area of Henan Province has the characteristics of small scale,single form,short period,and circulation land in economic core region. Problems in land circulation are as follows:slow transfer of rural surplus labor force,hard implementation of fundamental land circulation,complicated mentality towards rural land circulation,many misgivings about land circulation,the unformed social service system of land circulation,and imperfect agricultural risk prevention mechanism for circulated land use. 12Spatial and temporal temperature variations in Xinjiang,China during 1961-2008显示文摘This study examines spatial and temporal changes in 16 extreme temperature indices at 37 weather stations in Xinjiang and their associations with changes in climate means during 1961-2008.Linear regression analyses reveal that significant increasing trends in temperature were observed over Xinjiang,with the rate of 0.13 °C/decade,0.24 °C/decade,and 0.52 °C/decade for annual mean temperature,annual maximum,and minimum temperature,respectively.Annual frequency of cool nights(days) has decreased by 2.45 days/decade(0.86 days/decade),whereas the frequency of warm nights(days) has increased by 4.85 days/decade(1.62 days/decade).Seasonally,the frequencies of summer warm nights and days are changing more rapidly than the corresponding frequencies for cool nights and days.However,normalization of the extreme and mean series shows that the rate of changes in extreme temperature events are generally less than those of mean temperatures,except for winter cold nights which are changing as rapidly as the winter mean minimum temperatures.These results indicate that there have been seasonally and diurnally asymmetric changes in extreme temperature events relative to recent increases in temperature means in Xinjiang.YanWei Zhang WenShou Wei FengQing Jiang MingZhe Liu WenWen Wang Lei Bai KaiFeng Li Rui Shao ZhiWen Dong 2012Research in Cold and Arid Regions2012,4,1:4
13Biexciton Auger recombination in mono-dispersed, quantum-confined CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals obeys universal volume-scaling显示文摘Auger recombination has been a long?standing obstacle to many prospective applications of colloidal quantum dots (QDs) ranging from lasing, light-emitting diodes to bio-labeling. As such, understanding the physical underpinnings and scaling laws for Auger recombination is essential to these applications. Previous studies of biexciton Auger recombination in various QDs established a universal scaling of biexciton lifetime (rxx) with QD volume (V):τxx =γV. However, recent measurements on perovskite nanocrystals (NCs), an emerging class of enablers for light harvest!ng and emitting applications, showed significant deviations from this universal scaling law, likely because the measured NCs are weakly-confined and also have relatively broad size-distributions. Here we study biexciton Auger recombination in mono-dispersed (size distributions within 1.7%—9.0%), quantunvconfined CsPbBr3 NCs (with confinement energy up to 410 meV) synthesized using a latest approach based on thermodynamic equilibrium control. Our measurements clearly reproduce the volume-scaling of τxx in confined CsPbBb QDs. 16Helicobacter pylori antibody responses in association with eradication outcome and recurrence: a population-based intervention trial with 7.3-year follow-up in China显示文摘Objective:To identify serum biomarkers that may predict the short or long term outcomes of anti-Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)treatment,a follow-up study was performed based on an intervention trial in Linqu County,China.Methods:A total of 529 subjects were selected randomly from 1,803 participants to evaluate total anti-H.pylori immunoglobulin G(Ig G)and 10 specific antibody levels before and after treatment at 1-,2-and 7.3-year.The outcomes of anti-H.pylori treatment were also parallelly assessed by 13C-urea breath test at 45-d after treatment and 7.3-year at the end of follow-up.Results:We found the medians of anti-H.pylori Ig G titers were consistently below cut-off value through 7.3years in eradicated group,however,the medians declined in recurrence group to 1.2 at 1-year after treatment and slightly increased to 2.0 at 7.3-year.While the medians were significantly higher(>3.0 at 2-and 7.3-year)among subjects who failed the eradication or received placebo.For specific antibody responses,baseline seropositivities of Fli D and Hpa A were reversely associated with eradication failure[for Fli D,odds ratio(OR)=0.44,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.27–0.73;for Hpa A,OR=0.32,95%CI:0.17–0.60].The subjects with multiple positive specific antibodies at baseline were more likely to be successfully eradicated in a linear fashion(Ptrend=0.006).Conclusions:Our study suggested that total anti-H.pylori Ig G level may serve as a potential monitor of longterm impact on anti-H.pylori treatment,and priority for H.pylori treatment may be endowed to the subjects with multiple seropositive antibodies at baseline,especially for Fli D and Hap A.Tianyi Wang Yang Zhang Huijuan Su Zhexuan Li Lian Zhang Junling Ma Weidong Liu Tong Zhou Weicheng You Kaifeng Pan 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,2:3
17A Fuzzy Hierarchical Strategy for Improving Frequency Regulation of Battery Energy Storage System显示文摘Battery energy storage systems(BESSs)can provide instantaneous support for frequency regulation(FR)because of their fast response characteristics.However,purely pursuing a better FR effect calls for continually rapid cycles of BESSs,which shortens their lifetime and deteriorates the operational economy.To coordinate the lifespan savings and the FR effect,this paper presents a control strategy for the FR of BESSs based on fuzzy logic and hierarchical controllers.The fuzzy logic controller improves the effect of FR by adjusting the charging/discharging power of the BESS with a higher response speed and precision based on the area control error(ACE)signal and the change rate of ACE in a non-linear way.Hierarchical controllers effectively reduce the life loss by optimizing the depth of discharge,which ensures that the state of charge(SOC)of BESS is always in the optimal operating range,and the total FR cost is the lowest at this time.The proposed method can achieve the optimal balance between ACE reduction and operational economy of BESS.The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified in a two-area power system.Kaifeng Wang Ying Qiao Lirong Xie Jiaming Li Zongxiang Lu Huan Yang 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,4:3
18Urban niche dynamics of Kaifeng city显示文摘Niche theory is one of the most important ecological theories. It is widely applied to analyzing such phenomena as competition among, and evolution of, urban ecosystem func- tional modules. This paper describes a study concerning different functional modules of Kaifeng city urban ecosystem. Niche theory and techniques were used to analyze the changes of these functional modules in the period 1994–2003. The results showed that, in the period 1994–2003: (1) Niche value of the atmospheric environment and urban virescence modules increased, while niche value of the water environment and sound environment modules decreased; (2) niche value of the tertiary industry module increased, niche value of the secondary industry module decreased, while niche value of the primary industry module showed little change; and (3) niche value of the infrastructure, resource distribution, and production & social security modules increased, while niche value of the population module decreased. 19Mesoporous TiO_2/Carbon Beads: One-Pot Preparation and Their Application in Visible-Light-Induced Photodegradation显示文摘Mesoporous Ti O2/Carbon beads have been prepared via a facile impregnation-carbonization approach, in which a porous anion-exchange resin and K2 Ti O(C2O4)2were used as hard carbon and titanium source, respectively.Characterization results reveal that the self-assembled composites have disordered mesostructure, uniform mesopores,large pore volumes, and high surface areas. The mesopore walls are composed of amorphous carbon, well-dispersed and confined anatase or rutile nanoparticles. Some anatase phase of Ti O2 was transformed to rutile phase via an increase of carbonization temperature or repeated impregnation of the resin with Ti O(C2O4)22-species. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen element analysis, and thermal gravity analysis results indicate the doping of carbon into the Ti O2 lattice and strong interaction between carbon and Ti O2 nanoparticles. A synergy effect by carbon and Ti O2 in the composites has been discussed herein on the degradation of methyl orange under visible light. The dye removal process involves adsorption of the dye from water by the mesopores in the composites, followed by photodegradation on the separated dye-loaded catalysts. 20Irregular distribution of wind power prediction显示文摘Wind power is volatile and uncertain, which makes it difficult to establish an accurate prediction model.How to quantitatively describe the distribution of wind power output is the focus of this paper. First, it is assumed that wind speed is a random variable that satisfies the normal distribution. Secondly, based on the nonlinear relationship between wind speed and wind power, the distribution model of wind power prediction is established from the viewpoint of the physical mechanism. The proposed model successfully shows the complex characteristics of the wind power prediction distribution.
