6Epidemiological Characteristics of Influenza A and B in Macao,2010–2018显示文摘Influenza is one of the major respiratory diseases in humans.Macao is a tourist city with high density of population and special population mobility.The study on the epidemiological characteristics of influenza in Macao should bring great value for preventing influenza in tourist cities like Macao in the world.In this study,we collected a total of 104,874 samples with influenza-like illness(ILI)in Macao from 2010 to 2018.Chi-square test and binary multivariable logistic regression were used to investigate the epidemiological characteristics of influenza A and B in Macao.Among these ILI samples,the overall positive rate is 17.17%for influenza A and 6.97%for influenza B.The epidemics of influenza in three years(i.e.,2012,2017 and 2018)differ from the remaining years(i.e.,normal years).In a normal year,influenza A occurs year-round whereas influenza B is seasonal.Our research shows significant differences in influenza infections between different age groups in normal years.Interestingly,our analysis shows no significant difference between locals and tourists in influenza A and B infection in a normal year,whereas the odds of influenza A in tourists were significantly higher than those in locals in July 2017 and the odds of influenza B in tourists were significantly higher than those in locals in January–February 2012 and January–February 2018.This is possibly attributed by the policy of free vaccination to everyone in Macao.These findings should be valuable for preventing influenza in not only Macao but also the world.HoiMan Ng Teng Zhang Guoliang Wang SiMeng Kan Guoyi Ma Zhe Li Chang Chen Dandan Wang MengIn Wong ChioHang Wong Jinliang Ni Xiaohua Douglas Zhang 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,5:1

9Trans-Regional and Cross-Host Spread of mcr-Carrying Plasmids Revealed by Complete Plasmid Sequences——44 Countries,1998−2020显示文摘Background:The surveillance of antimicrobial resistance genes(ARGs)and bacteria is one critical approach to prevent and control antimicrobial resistance(AMR).Next-generation sequencing(NGS)is a powerful tool in monitoring the emergence and spread of ARGs and resistant bacteria.The horizontal transfer of ARGs across host bacteria mediated by plasmids is a challenge in NGS surveillance for resistance because short-read sequencing can hardly generate the complete plasmid genome sequence,and the correlation between ARGs and plasmids are difficult to determine.Methods:The complete genome sequences of 455 mcr-carrying plasmids(pMCRs),and the data of their host bacteria and isolation regions were collected from the NCBI database.Genes of Inc types and ARGs were searched for each plasmid.The genome similarity of these plasmids was analyzed by pangenome clustering and genome alignment.Results:A total of 52 Inc types,including a variety of fusion plasmids containing 2 or more Inc types were identified in these pMCRs and carried by complex host bacteria.The cooccurrence of ARGs in pMCRs was generally observed,with an average of 3.9 ARGs per plasmid.Twenty-two clusters with consistent or highly similar sequences and gene compositions were identified by the pangenome clustering,which were characterized with distributions in different countries/regions,years or host bacteria in each cluster.Discussion:Based on the complete plasmid sequences,distribution of mcr genes in different Inc type plasmids,their co-existence with other AMRs,and transmission of one pMCR across regions and host bacteria can be revealed definitively.Complete plasmid genomes and comparisons in the laboratory network are necessary for spread tracing of ARG-carrying plasmids and risk assessment in AMR surveillance.Zhe Li Zhenpeng Li Yao Peng Xin Lu Biao Kan 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,12:1

11Mono-dispersed Ag nanoparticles decorated graphitic carbon nitride:An excellent lubricating additive as PPESK composite film显示文摘Studies show that two dimensional(2D)nanomaterial and its hybrid have a great promise in tribology for the special laminar microstructure.However,the majority of performed investigations about 2D graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))nanosheets are most focused on energy storage,catalysis,adsorption,rarely tribology.In the present study,g-C_(3)N_(4) supporting mono-dispersed Ag nanoparticle hybrid(g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag)is prepared,and its microstructure and chemical composition are determined.More specifically,the tribological performance as the lubricating additive of poly phthalazinone ether sulfone ketone(PPESK)composite is investigated using the ball-on-disc friction tester.Moreover,the corresponding enhancement mechanism is well proposed based on the experimental analysis and theoretical simulation.Obtained results show that Ag nanoparticles with a size of about 10-20 nm are homogeneously anchored on g-C_(3)N_(4) nanosheets,favoring for good compatibility between g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag and PPESK.It is found that when 0.3 wt%of g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag is added to PPESK,the friction coefficient and wear rate of PPESK decrease by 68.9%and 97.1%,respectively.These reductions are mainly attributed to the synergistic self-lubricating effect of Ag nanoparticles and g-C_(3)N_(4) nanosheet,the formation of transfer film,as well as the limited effect of g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag on the shear deformation of PPESK composite film.Furthermore,it is found that the proposed g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag-PPESK composite still keeps reasonable friction-reducing and wear-resistant properties under heavy loads and high rotating speeds.The present study demonstrates that the proposed g-C_(3)N_(4)/Ag hybrid is an excellent lubricating additive for polymer composites.Beibei CHEN Mengjie ZHANG Kan ZHANG Zhe DONG Jiaye LI Gai ZHAO 2022Friction2022,10,5:0

13Complete Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1 Specific T Lymphocyte Response to Chinese Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1 B/C Chronic Infectors显示文摘Objective To characterize the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) -specific T lymphocyte responses and identify the immunodominant regions in Chinese HIV-1 recombinant subtype B/C chronic infectors at complete genome level.Methods Twenty-five HIV-1 B/C recombinant chronic infectors were screened for their specific T lymphocyte responses to a panel of peptides corresponding to the complete HIV-1 subtype B genome by gamma interferon ELISPOT assay.Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric analysis of variance was used to test significant differences across gene regions,and Tukey pairwise analysis was used to identify differences between gene regions.Spearman rank correlation was used to assess the relation between responses.Results The order of recognized frequencies of specific T lymphocyte responses to HIV proteins was Nef>Vpr>Gag>Pol>Vpu>Env>Rev>Vif>Tat.When adjusted for protein length,Nef,Vpr,Gag,and Pol were the most intensely targeted proteins and the central region of Nef,Gag p24,Pol RT,and Vpr was most frequently recognized.No significant correlation was observed between the magnitude of IFN-γ production of HIV-1-specific T lymphocyte responses and plasma viremia,breadth of response and CD4 counts.Conclusion The central region of Nef,Gag p24,Pol RT,and Vpr is most frequently targeted in HIV-1 B/C recombinants chronic infectors.HIV-1-specific T lymphocyte responses and plasma viremia or CD4 counts play no protective role at complete genome level in these infectors.ZHE WANG HONG-WEI LIU KUN-XUE HONG ZU-JIANG YU JIAN -PING CHEN YU-HUA RUAN QUAN-CHENG KAN YI-MING SHAO 2009Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2009,22,6:0
