| 1 | Effect of heparin on apoptosis in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE2 cells显示文摘In order to study the mechanism of the effect of heparin on apoptosis in carcinoma cells, the nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line CNE2 was used to identify the effect of heparin on apoptosis associated with the expression of c-myc, bax, bcl-2 proteins by use of Hoechst 33258 staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL), agarose gel electrophoresis, and flow cytometry, as well as Western blot analysis. The results showed that heparin induced apoptosis of CNE2 cells including the morphologic changes such as reduction in the volume, and the nuclear chromatin condensation, as well as the “ladder pattern” revealed by agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA in a concentration-dependent manner.The number of TUNEL-positive cells was dramatically increased to 33.6±1.2% from 2.8±0.3% by treat ment with heparin in different concentrations (10~40 kU/L). The apoptotic index was increased to 32.5% from 3.5% by detecting SubG1 peaks on flow cytometry. | 5 | CDH13 Genetic Polymorphisms, Adiponectin and Ischemic Stroke: a Chinese Family-based Sib-pair Study显示文摘Objective To understand the relationships between CDH13(T-cadherin) genetic polymorphisms, adiponectin levels and ischemic stroke, and possible interactions between CDH13 polymorphisms and other risk factors. Methods We recruited 342 Chinese ischemic stroke sib pairs. We genotyped rs4783244 and rs7193788 on CDH13 using time-of-flight mass spectrometry genotyping technology and measured total and high-molecular weight(HMW) adiponectin levels. We investigated associations between SNPs and ischemic stroke, and interactions between SNPs and other risk factors using multi-level mixed-effects regression model. Results In individuals without ischemic stroke, CDH13 rs4783244 was associated with total adiponectin levels(per T: Coef =-0.257, P = 0.001). CDH13 rs7193788 was associated with total adiponectin levels(per A: Coef =-0.221, P = 0.001) and HMW adiponectin levels(per A: Coef =-0.163, P = 0.003). rs7193788 was significantly associated with ischemic stroke(GA/AA vs. GG: OR = 1.55, 95% CI: 1.07 to 2.24, P = 0.020) after Bonferroni correction(α = 0.025). There was an interaction between rs7193788 and diabetes(P = 0.036). Compared to diabetes-free individuals with rs7193788 GG genotype, diabetes patients with rs7193788 GA/AA genotypes had higher risks for ischemic stroke(OR = 2.64, 95% CI: 1.58-4.40, P < 0.001). Conclusion CDH13 genetic polymorphisms are associated with adiponectin levels and ischemic stroke. | 7 | Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis that aggravates after acinetobacter baumannii pneumonia:A case report显示文摘We report an atypical case of anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis(ANMDARE). A 27-year-old man diagnosed with ANMDARE received immunotherapy and had a good recovery. However, within one month, he developed severe status epilepticus and decreased level of conscience with new hyperpyrexia and dyspnea, and was admitted to the emergency intensive care unit. Acinetobacter baumanii were found in the sputum culture; and anti-NMDAR antibodies were positive(titer: 1/80) in the cerebrospinal fluid. Repeated immunotherapy was administered with antibacterial agents, and the patient recovered except for mild psychiatric sequelae. This is the first report of ANMDARE that aggravates after acinetobacter baumannii pneumonia. | 8 | Tailoring nanoprecipitates for ultra-strong high-entropy alloys via machine learning and prestrain aging显示文摘The multi-principal-component concept of high-entropy alloys(HEAs) generates numerous new alloys.Among them,nanoscale precipitated HEAs have achieved superior mechanical properties and shown the potentials for structural applications.However,it is still a great challe nge to find the optimal alloy within the numerous candidates.Up to now,the reported nanoprecipitated HEAs are mainly designed by a trialand-error approach with the aid of phase diagram calculations,limiting the development of structural HEAs.In the current work,a novel method is proposed to accelerate the development of ultra-strong nanoprecipitated HEAs.With the guidance of physical metallurgy,the volume fraction of the required nanoprecipitates is designed from a machine learning of big data with thermodynamic foundation while the morphology of precipitates is kinetically tailored by prestrain aging.As a proof-of-principle study,an HEA with superior strength and ductility has been designed and systematically investigated.The newly developed γ’-strengthened HEA exhibits 1.31 GPa yield strength,1.65 GPa ultimate tensile strength,and 15% tensile elongation.Atom probe tomography and transmission electron microscope characterizations reveal the well-controlled high γ’ volume fraction(52%) and refined precipitate size(19 nm).The refinement of nanoprecipitates originates from the accelerated nucleation of the γ’ phase by prestrain aging.A deeper understanding of the excellent mechanical properties is illustrated from the aspect of strengthening mecha nisms.Finally,the versatility of the current design strategy to other precipitation-hardened alloys is discussed. | Tao Zheng Xiaobing Hu Feng He Qjngfeng Wu Bin Han Chen Da Junjie Li Zhijun Wang Jincheng Wang Ji-jung Kai Zhenhai Xia C.T.Liu | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,10: | 2 |
| 9 | Trophic Interaction in a Portunus rituberculatus Polyculture Ecosystem Based on Carbon and Nitrogen Stable Isotope Analysis显示文摘Trophic interaction among various biomass groups in a swimming crab Portunus trituberculatus polyculture pond was investigated using carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis. The polycultured animal species also included white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei, short-necked clam Ruditapes philippinarum, and redlip mullet Liza haematochila. The mean δ^(13)C value for all the biomass groups in polyculture ecosystem ranged from -25.61‰ to -16.60‰, and the mean δ^(15)N value ranged from 6.80‰ to 13.09‰. Significant difference in the δ^(13)C value was found between particulate organic matter(POM) and sediment organic matter(SOM)(P < 0.05), indicating that these two organic matter pools have different material sources. Assuming that a ^(13)C-enrichment factor of 1.00‰ and a ^(15)N-enrichment factor of 2.70‰ existed between consumer and prey, diets of the four cultured animals were estimated using a stable isotope mixing model. The estimated model results indicated that P. trituberculatus mainly feed on Aloidis laevis; L. vannamei mainly feed on shrimp feed; while A. laevis, R. philippinarum and L. haematochelia mainly feed on POM. Shrimp feed was also an important food source of R. philippinarum and L. haematochelia. The diets of P. trituberculatus, L. vannamei, R. philippinarum, and L. haematochila showed complementary effects in this polyculture ecosystem. | 15 | License Assisted Access-WiFi Coexistence with TXOP Backoff for LTE in Unlicensed Band显示文摘License assisted access(LAA) was proposed as a solution to the challenge of satisfying high throughput requirement in cellular network with limited licensed band. LAA uses long term evolution(LTE) carrier aggregation technique to combine licensed and unlicensed bands, specifically 5 GHz Wi Fi band, in order to achieve high data rates. However, LAA has several critical concerns for services provision on 5 GHz unlicensed band. In this article, an overview of the techniques concerning the coexistence of LTE and Wi Fi on the same unlicensed band is presented. We first present several general approaches including power control of LTE evolved Node B(e NB), carrier selection, LTE duty cycling, self clear to send(CTS) and request to send/CTS(RTS/CTS), and listen before talk(LBT). Then, we focus on LBT techniques for LAA-Wi Fi coexistence and discuss how LBT based coexistence solutions can dynamically respond to the variations in network load and ensure fair coexistence in a distributed manner. Based on the LBT mechanism, we also present a fairness-aware LAA-WiF i coexisting scheme with TXOP(transmitted in a single transmission opportunity) backoff for LAA e NB. The experimental result suggests that the resonance signal at ca. 30ppm is an independent signal (not part of a second-order quadrupolar lineshape), probably resulted from 5-coordinated non-framework aluminium (AlNFP).
