Fluorescent nanoparticles for chemical and biological sensing显示文摘Fluorescent nanoparticles (NPs), including quantum dots (QDs), dye-doped NPs, and rare earth-based NPs, etc., have been a major focus of research and development during the past decade. The impetus behind such endeavors can be attributed to their unique chemical and optical properties, such as bright fluorescence, high photostability, large Stocks shift and flexible processability. The introduction of fluorescent NPs into analytical chemistry has opened up new venues for fluorescent analysis. In this review, we focus on the developments and analytical applications of fluorescent NPs in the chemical and biological sensing of pH, ions, organic compounds, small biological molecules, nucleic acids, proteins, virus and bacteria. The review also points out the in vitro and in vivo imaging application of fluorescent NPs at the cell and body levels. Meanwhile, the ad- vantages of NPs brought field of sensing and signal transductions are also discussed. | LIU JianBo, YANG XiaoHai, HE XiaoXiao, WANG KeMin, WANG Qing, GUO QiuPing, SHI Hui, HUANG Jin & HUO XiQin State Key Laboratory of Chemo/Biosensing and Chemometrics College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Institute of Biology, Hunan University Key Laboratory for Bio-Nanotechnology and Molecule Engineering of Hunan Province, Changsha 410082, China | 2011 | Science China Chemistry2011,54,8: | 9
THE SECOND EXPONENT SET OF PRIMITIVE DIGRAPHS显示文摘Let D = (V, E) be a primitive digraph. The exponent of D, denoted byγ(D), is the least integer k such that for any u, v∈ V there is a directed walk of length k from u to v. The local exponent of D at a vertex u∈ V, denoted by exp_D (u), is the least integer k such that there is a directed walk of length k from u to v for each v ε V. Let V = {1,2,….,n}. Following [1], the vertices of V are ordered so that exp_D (1) ≤exp_D (2) ≤…≤exp_D(n) =λ(D). Let E_n(i):= {exp_D (i) ∈D PD_n}, where PD_n is the set of all primitive digraphs of order n. It is known that E_n(n) = {γ(D) D∈PD_n} has been completely settled by [7]. In 1998, E_n(1) was characterized by [5]. In this paper, the authors describe E_n(2) for all n≥2. | MIAO ZHENGKE(Department of Mathematics, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China.)(Department of Mathematics, Xuzhou Normal University, Xuzhou 221009, China.) | 3 | Differentiation of Hepatocellular Carcinoma from Hepatic Hemangioma and Focal Nodular Hyperplasia using Computed Tomographic Spectral Imaging显示文摘Background and Aims:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common primary hepatic malignancy. This study was designed to investigate the value of computed tomography(CT)spectral imaging in differentiating HCC from hepatic hemangioma(HH)and focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH).Methods:This was a retrospective study of 51 patients who underwent spectral multiple-phase CT at 40–140 keV during the arterial phase(AP)and portal venous phase(PP).Slopes of the spectral curves, iodine density, water density derived from iodine-and water-based material decomposition images, iodine uptake ratio(IUR),normalized iodine concentration, and the ratio of iodine concentration in liver lesions between AP and PP were measured or calculated. Results:As energy level decreased, the CT values of HCC(n=31),HH(n=17),and FNH(n=7)increased in both AP and PP.There were significant differences in IUR in the AP,IUR in the PP,normalized iodine concentration in the AP,slope in the AP,and slope in the PP among HCC,HH,and FNH.The CT values in AP,IUR in the AP and PP,normalized iodine concentration in the AP,slope in the AP and PP had high sensitivity and specificity in differentiating HH and HCC from FNH.Quantitative CT spectral data had higher sensitivity and specificity than conventional qualitative CT image analysis during the combined phases. Conclusions:Mean CT values at low energy(40–90 keV)and quantitative analysis of CT spectral data(IUR in the AP)could be helpful in the differentiation of HCC,HH,and FNH. | Weixia Li Ruokun Li Xiangtian Zhao Xiaozhu Lin Yixing Yu Jing Zhang Kemin Chen Weimin Chai Fuhua Yan | 2021 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,3: | 6

In comparison with CdTe quantum dots, these nanoparticles show superiority in chemical and photo-chemical stability. The quantum dots doped core-shell nanoparticles were successfully linked with lactobionic acid by amine group on it, which was used to recognize living liver cells. | LI Zhaohui WANG Kemin TAN Weihong LI Jun FU Zhiying WANG Yilin LIU Jianbo YANG Xiaohai | 2005 | Chinese Science Bulletin2005,50,16: | 5 |
Structural changes in the gray matter of unmedicated patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder: a voxel-based morphometric study显示文摘The aim of the current study was to use whole brain voxel-based morphometry(VBM)to assess the gray matter(GM)changes in unmedicated patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD)compared with normal controls. We compared the GM volumes in28 patients with 22 matched healthy controls using a1.5T MRI.Three-dimensional T1-weighted magnetic resonance images were obtained from all participants.VBM was performed to detect GM volume differences between the two groups. We detected increased regional GM volumes in the bilateral middle temporal gyri, bilateral middle occipital gyri, bilateral globus pallidus, right inferior parietal gyrus, left superior parietal gyrus, right parahippocampus, right supramarginal gyrus, right medial superior frontal gyrus, and left inferior frontal opercular cortex in the OCD patients relative to controls(P<0.001,uncorrected,cluster size>100 voxels). No decreased GM volume was found in the OCD group compared with normal controls. Our findings suggest that structural changes in the GM are not limited to fronto-striato-thalamic circuits in the pathogenesis of OCD.Temporo-parietal cortex may also play an important role. | Ling Tan Qing Fan Chao You Jijun Wang Zhao Dong Xuemei Wang Kemin Chen Zeping Xiao Kaida Jiang | 2013 | Neuroscience Bulletin2013,29,5: | 5
Experimental characterization and modeling of stress-dependent hysteresis of a giant magnetostrictive actuator显示文摘The hysteresis nonlinearity of giant magnetostrictive actuator(GMA) is stress-dependent.In this paper, laboratory experiments were performed to characterize the stress-dependent hysteresis properties of a GMA under different compressive stresses ranging from ?11.3 MPa to ?24.3 MPa and harmonic current excitation with amplitudes from 0.6 A to 1.2 A.The experimental results showed that remarkable changes in peak-peak displacement responses, hysteresis loop width and hysteresis loss occurred with the increasing of compressive stress;no significant changes in coercive current were observed.Based on the analysis of experimental data and discussion of the influences of the weights of Modified Prandtl-Ishlinskii(MPI) on the characteristics of hysteresis loops,a stress-dependent Prandtl-Ishlinskii(SDPI) model was proposed by extending the MPI model to describe the effects of compressive stress,in which the weights of deadzone operators are extended as function of compressive stress.Good agreements were obtained between the model simulation results and the experimental data.Additional model validations were given by the performances of tracking control experiments with an inverse feedforward controller. The experimental results have clearly shown that the inverse SDPI is effective for compensating stress-dependent hysteresis including major and minor loops. | ZHANG Zhen MAO JianQin ZHOU KeMin | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,7: | 5
Microstructure and property modifications in surface layers of a Mg-4Sm-2Al-0.5Mn alloy induced by pulsed electron beam treatments显示文摘In this work, surface modification of a Mg-4Sm-2Al-0.5Mn alloy with high current pulse electron beam(HCPEB)under different number of pulses were investigated. The evolution in microstructure, composition and phase components and properties in the surface layer before and after HCPEB treatment were characterized. It was found that the Al 11 Sm 3 and Al 2 Sm phases in the surface layer were gradually dissolved during HCPEB treatment, leading to the formation of a chemical homogeneous melted layers.Besides, deformation bands were formed in the treated layer due to the thermal stress generated during treatment. After 15 pulses treatment, the surface hardness increases to the maximum value of about 62.2 HV,about 61.2%higher than that of the untreated state.Electrochemical results show that the 15 pulses treated sample presents the best corrosion resistance in the 3.5wt%NaCl water solution by showing the highest corrosion potential(E_(corr))of-1.339V SEC and the lowest corrosion current density(I_(corr))of 1.48×10^(-6)A·cm^(-2).The results prove that the surface properties of the Mg-4Sm-2Al-0.5Mn alloy can be significantly improved by the HCPEB treatments under proper conditions. | Yingrui Liu Kemin Zhang Jianxin Zou Ping Yan Xu Zhang Luxia Song | 2021 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,1: | 4
A novel fluorescent label based on biological fluores-cent nanoparticles and its application in cell recognition显示文摘Uniform-sized fluorescent nanoparticles have been prepared by employing silica as the shell and a highly luminescent dye complex of ruthenium ion and bipyridyl, tris(2,2 ’-bipyridyl) dichlororuthenium( II) hexahydrate as the core of the nanoparticles. A novel fluorescent label method is proposed, which is based on the biological fluorescent nanoparticles on the foundation of nanotechnology, biotechnology and fluorescent label technology. In comparison with the conventional fluorophores as fluorescent labels such as fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) label, this new label shows more superiority in photochemical stability, detection sensitivity and application scope for the biomedicine research. | 10 | Ribozyme probe based on molecular beacon for real time monitoring of enzymatic cleavage process显示文摘Ribozyme probe based on molecular beacon (MBR) for monitoring enzymatic cleavage process in real time is designed and studied. The approach relies on ri-bozyme substrates modified at the two arms, with a fluores-cent moiety attached to the end of one arm and a non-fluorescent quenching moiety attached to the end of the other arm. MBR is employed to directly convert the cleavage information into fluorescence signal in real time. Compared with traditional approach, this method provides a no-radiolabeling, sensitive and effective way to research on the ribozyme activity, enzymatic dynamic process and ri-bozyme function during gene therapy. The activity of the ribozyme against hepatitis C virus RNA (HCV-RNA) is stud-ied based on this assay. | MENG Xiangxian, WANG Kemin, TAN Weihong, LI Jun, TANG Zhiwen, GUO Qiuping, HUANG Shasheng & LI Du State Key Laboratory of Chemo/Biosensing and Chemometrics, Institute of Biological Technology, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engi-neering, Hunan University, Changsha 410082, China Correspondence should be addressed to Wang Kemin (e-mail: kmwang @hnu.net.cn) | 2003 | Chinese Science Bulletin2003,48,23: | 3
Novel protein detection method based on proximity- dependent polymerase reaction and aptamers显示文摘In recent years, specific detection of proteins is one of the hot issues about aptamers in proteomics. Here we reported a simple, sensitive and specific proximity-dependent protein assay with dual DNA aptamers. Thrombin was used as the model protein, and two aptamer probes with complementary se- quence at 3′-end were designed for the two distinct epitopes of the protein. Association of the two ap- tamers with thrombin resulted in stable hybrids due to the proximity of 3′-end, then polymerase reac- tion was induced. The amount of obtained dsDNA was indicated using the fluorescence dye Sybr Green I. The results showed that the initial velocity of polymerase reaction had a positive correlation with concentration of thrombin. The advantages of this dual-aptamer-based approach included simple and flexible design of aptamer probes, high selectivity and high sensitivity. The detection limit was 6.9 pmol/L. | YANG XiaoHai WANG Lei WANG KeMin TAN WeiHong TANG HongXing MENG XiangXian GUO QiuPing | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,2: | 3

Pledgee competition, strategic disclosure, and future crash risk显示文摘We investigate whether pledgee competition affects the disclosure choice of firms whose controlling shareholders pledge their shares. We find that pledgee competition is positively related to pledge firms’ annual report tone management. This positive relationship is stronger for pledge firms with lower credit quality and non-state-owned enterprise pledge firms.Further corroborating our results, higher pledgee competition increases the future crash risk of pledge firms.Collectively, our results suggest that competition pressure induces pledgees to lower their monitoring incentives to remain competitive in the marketplace, thus leading to pledge firms’ bad news hoarding behavior. | Xiaoxi Li Jing Liu Kemin Wang | 2019 | China Journal of Accounting Research2019,,3: | 3

A photosensitizer-loaded zinc oxide-polydopamine core-shell nanotherapeutic agent for photodynamic and photothermal synergistic therapy of cancer cells显示文摘In clinical cancer research,it is quite promising to develop multimodal synergistic therapeutic strategies.Photodynamic and photothermal synergistic therapy is a very desirable multimodal therapy strategy.Herein,we report a facile and simple method to construct a nanotherapeutic agent for photodynamic and photothermal therapy. This nanotherapeutic agent(ZnO@Ce6-PDA)is composed of a ZnO nanoparticle core,an interlayer of photosensitizer chlorin e6(Ce6)and an outer layer of polydopamine(PDA).Due to the existence of Ce6,the ZnO@Ce6-PDA can efficiently generate singlet oxygen(1O2)under 660 nm laser irradiation. Moreover, the ZnO@Ce6-PDA can serve as a photothermal agent, because of the excellent photothermal conversion efficiency of the PDA coating layer in the presence of 780 nm laser.Experiment results demonstrated that the designed nanotherapeutic agent had outstanding phototoxicity upon the combination of laser irradiation at 660 and 780 nm.Thus, our work proves that the ZnO@Ce6-PDA is a promising photodynamic/photothermal dual-modal nanotherapeutic agent for enhanced cancer therapy. | Ri Wu Huizhen Wang Luo Hai Tianzheng Wang Min Hou Dinggeng He Xiaoxiao He Kemin Wang | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,1: | 3
Texture Characteristics of Thin Grain Oriented Silicon Steel Sheet Produced by Cross Shear Rolling显示文摘Commercial grain oriented silicon steel was cold rolled to thickness from 0.06 to 0.10 mm by cross shear rolling, then annealed in vacuum or a hydrogen atmosphere furnace. Deformation textures of the sheets were researched by ODF method and reverse pole figure quantitative analyses. The results indicate that: in the condition of the cross shear rolling, the deformation texture of rolled sheet is generally similar to that of conventional rolled sheet, however, the texture distribution through the thickness is asymmetrical. With mismatch speed ratio increasing, the amount of Goss texture increases. With reduction ratio increasing, the intensity of γ-fiber becomes strong. | Xiuhua GAO, Kemin QI, Renlong LI, Chunlin QIU, Bo MA and Guangrun BAI (Department of Metal Forming, Northeastern University, Shenyang 110006, China) | 2000 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2000,16,2: | 2

Comparative study of mining methods for reserves beneath end slope in flat surface mines with ultra-thick coal seams显示文摘The paper aims to identify a reasonable method for mining ultra-thick coal seams in an end-slope in surface mine, With a case study of Heidaigou surface coal mine(HSCM), the paper conducted a comparative research on three mining methods, namely Underground Mining Method(UMM), Highwall Mining System(HMS) and Local Steep Slope Mining Method(LSSMM). A model was firstly established to simulate the impact that UMM and HMS exert on monitoring points and surface deformation. The way that stripping and excavation amount varies with different slope angle, and the corresponding end slope stability were analyzed in the mode of LSSMM. Then a TOPSIS model was established by taking into account six indicators such as recovery ratio, technical complexity and adaptability, the impact on surface mining production, production safety and economic benefits. Finally, LSSMM was determined as the best mining method for mining ultra-thick coal seams in end slope in HSCM. | Zha Zhengao Ma Li Li Kemin Ding Xiaohua Xiao Shuangshuang | 2017 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2017,27,6: | 2
Protective effects and potential underlying mechanisms of sodium copper chlorophyllin against ethanol-induced gastric ulcer in mice显示文摘In study,we aimed to determine the mechanisms underlying the gastroprotective effects of sodium copper chlorophyllin(SCC)against ethanol-induced gastric ulcer injury in mice.First, the gastroprotective effects of SCC against gastric ulcer induced by ethanol were assessed. Then, biochemical, histopathological, immunohistochemistry assays, and western blot analysis were conducted to determine the possible mechanisms of action underlying the effects of SCC.Compared to the effects of omeprazole(OME)in a confirmed mouse model of ethanol-induced gastric ulcer injury, treatment with various doses of SCC resulted in up-regulation of Bcl-2 and down-regulation of the pro-apoptotic protein Bax.Significant decreases in the levels of the malondialdehyde(MDA),myeloperoxidase(MPO),and NO in the gastric tissues were observed.Furthermore, inflammatory cytokine analysis revealed that SCC treatment inhibited the expressions of TNF-αand IL-6,greatly reduced the phosphorylation level of IκB,and repressed the nuclear translocation of NF-κB p65,which demonstrated that SCC inhibited the activation of the NF-κB pathway. The present findings suggest that the protective effects of SCC may be beneficial as a potential preventive and therapeutic agent for gastric ulcer through the NF-κB pathway.Taken together,SCC administration significantly decreased the levels of MPO,NO,and MDA in gastric tissue and exerted a powerful anti-inflammatory activity as demonstrated by reduction in the secretions of proinflammatory mediators such as IL-6 and TNF-α in the serum of mice exposed to ethanol. | Huawei Lv Yan Lin Peigang Liu Weiqing Liang Kemin Wei Jinbao Pu Hongjian Zhang | 2019 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,9: | 2
Study on the effect of electrostatic interaction on core-shell nanoparticles preparation with microemulsion technique显示文摘The routine method for preparation of silica core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) is to carry out nucleation and shell coating through the hydrolysis of silane in water in oil (W/O) microemulsion to form three-dimensional netted silica shell. We found that electrostatic interaction of the core ma- terials with shell materials would determine whether the stable core-shell silica NPs formed or not. The traditional important factors such as molecular weight of core materials or the thickness of the shell have no obvious relationship with it. And the stability of the core-shell silica NPs can be im- proved after changing the electric charge polarity by regu- lating the experiment condition of relevant materials if some core materials cannot be doped inside to form the stable core-shell silica NPs based on the traditional method, which provided experimental and theoretic foundation for prepara- tion and application of the core-shell silica NPs. | HE Xiaoxiao WANG Kemin TAN Weihong CHEN Jiyun DUAN Jinghua YUAN Yin LIN Xia | 2005 | Chinese Science Bulletin2005,50,24: | 2
