| 1 | Geochemistry and mineralogy of the Late Permian coals from the Songzao Coalfield, Chongqing, southwestern China显示文摘Mineralogy and geochemistry of the four main workable coal seams (No.6, No.7, No.8, and No.11) of Late Permian age from the Songzao Coalfield, Chongqing, Southwest China, were examined using in- ductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF), cold-vapor absorption spectrometry (CV-AAS), ion-selective electrode (ISE), scanning electron mi- croscopy equipped with an energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (SEM-EDX), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The results showed that the main workable No.8 Coal that accounts for about 60% of the total coal reserves in the Songzao Coalfield was not enriched in hazardous trace elements. The No.11 Coal has high concentrations of alkaline elements, Be (9.14 μg/g), Sc (12.9 μg/g), Ti (9508 μg/g), Mn (397 μg/g), Co (23.7 μg/g), Cu (108 μg/g), Zn (123 μg/g), Ga (32 μg/g), Zr (1304 μg/g), Nb (169 μg/g), Hf (32.7 μg/g), Ta (11.4 μg/g), W (24.8 μg/g), Hg (0.28 μg/g), Pb (28.1 μg/g), Th (24.1 μg/g), and rare earth elements (509.62 μg/g). The concentration of Nb and Ta in the No. 11 Coal is higher than the industrial grade, and their potential utilization should be further studied. Besides pyrite, quartz, calcite, and clay minerals, trace minerals including chalcopyrite, marcasite, siderite, albite, mixed-layer clay minerals of illite and smectite, monazite, apatite, anatase, chlorite, and gypsum were found in the No.11 Coal. It should be noted that alabandite of hydrothermal origin and anatase occurring as cement were identi- fied in coal. In addition, the clayey microbands derived from alkaline volcanic ashes were identified in the coal. The dominant compositions of these clayey microbands were mixed-layer clay minerals of illite and smectite, which were interlayered with organic bands. The modes of occurrence of alkaline volcanic ash bands indicate that the volcanic activities were characterized by the multiple eruptions, short time interval and small scale for each eruption during peat accumulation. | 4 | Effect of caffeic acid phenethyl ester on proliferation and apoptosis of hepatic stellate cells in vitro显示文摘AIM: To investigate the role of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB)inhibitor caffeic acid phenethy1 ester (CAPE) in the proliferation, collagen synthesis and apoptosis of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) of rats.
METHODS: The HSCs from rats were isolated and cultured in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) and treated with CAPE. The proliferation and collagen synthesis of HSCs were determined by 3H-TdR and 3H-proline incorporation respectively, and the expression of type Ⅰ, Ⅲ procollagen genes was further explored byin situ hybridization. Apoptosis cell indices (AIs) were examined using terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase- mediated DIG-dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL).
RESULTS: Tn activated HSC in culture, CAPE significantly inhibited 3H-TdR and 3H-proline incorporation by HSCs at concentrations of 5 μmol/L and 10 μmol/L respectively. CAPE also reduced the type I procollagen gene expression (P<0.05)at higher concentration. Apoptosis of HSC was induced by CAPE and the AIs were time-and dose-dependently increased from 2.82+0.73 % to 7.66±1.25 % at 12 h (P<0.01) and from 3.15±0.88 % to 10.6L±2.88 % at 24 h (P<0.01).

| 9 | Microvessel density at different levels of normal or injured bile duct in dogs and its surgical implications显示文摘BACKGROUND:Ischemic recurrent stricture after surgical repair for iatrogenic bile duct injury(BDI)remains a challenge in clinical practice.The present study was designed to investigate whether ischemia is universal and of varied severity at different levels of the proximal bile duct after BDI. METHODS:A total of 30 beagle dogs were randomly divided into control,BDI,and BDI-repaired groups.The BDI animal model was established based on the classic pattern of laparoscopic cholecystectomy-related BDI.The animals were sacrificed on postoperative day 15,and bile duct tissue was harvested to assess microvessel density(MVD)at selected levels of the normal,post-BDI and BDI-repaired bile duct with the CD34 immunohistochemistry technique. RESULTS:In the control group,MVD at level H(high level) was remarkably higher than that at level L(low level).No significant difference was found between MVDs at levels H and M(middle level),as well as at levels M and L.However, the tendency was noted that the closer the level to the hilus, the greater the MVD at that level.In both the BDI and BDI-repaired groups,MVDs at level H were generally greater than those at level L,despite the unremarkable differences between MVDs at neighboring levels.In these two groups,a similar tendency of MVD distribution to that in the control group was found;the closer the level to the injury site,the lower was the MVD at that level.Moreover,compared with the MDVs at the levels M and L in the control group,MVDs at the corresponding levels in the BDI and BDI-repaired groups were all remarkably reduced(P<0.05).In addition,MVDs at all three levels in the BDI group significantly declined further after BDI repair.CONCLUSIONS:After BDI,universal ischemic damage in the injured proximal bile duct develops close to the injury site, while close to the hilus,ischemia is relatively slight.High hepaticojejunostomy,rather than low biloenterostomy or end-to-end duct anastomosis,should be recommended for BDI repair.Great care should be taken to protect the peribiliary plexus during repair. | Lin Geng,Ding Luo,Hao-Chun Zhang,Liang-Song Zhao and De-Ke Qing Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,Kunming General Hospital of PLA,Kunming 650032,China | 2011 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2011,10,1: | 4 |

| 16 | Simultaneously optimizing pore morphology and enhancing mechanical properties of Al-Si alloy composite foams by graphene nanosheets显示文摘The integrity and regularity of pore morphology play an important role in determining the mechanical properties of the metallic foam materials.The conventional methods on refining pore morphology are mainly focused on the optimization of fabrication techniques,however,they are usually inconvenient and complicated.Recently,incorporating nano reinforcement is considered to be a suitable way to fabricate metallic composite foams accompanied by optimized pore morphology and enhanced mechanical properties.In this work,through a facile and rapid powder metallurgy foaming method,the aluminum-silicon(Al-Si)alloy composite foams reinforced by graphene nanosheets(GNSs)are successfully fabricated.The microstructure analyses reveal that,for the Al-Si alloy foams incorporating the GNSs(GNSs/Al-Si composite foams),the pore size is transformed to be smaller,the pore size distributions become more homogeneous and the pore shape is also refined to a regular and roundish state.Meanwhile,the shape of Si precipitates is found transforming from an irregular long strip(length of~20μm,width of~5μm)to a fine particle state(diameter of~5μm).Moreover,the compressive testing results show that,the 0.4wt%GNSs/Al-Si composite foams own the optimal compression stress of 11.7±0.5 MPa,plateau stress of 10.0±1.0 MPa and energy absorption capacity of 6.8±0.7 MJ/m^(3),which have improvement of 58.1%,53.8%and 51.1%in comparison with the Al-Si alloy foams counterpart,respectively.The present findings may pave a new way for developing new generation of metallic composite foams that with stable microstructure and excellent mechanical performance. | Weiting Li Xudong Yang Kunming Yang Chunnian He Junwei Sha Chunsheng Shi Yunhui Mei Jiajun Li Naiqin Zhao | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,6: | 3 |

| 20 | No requirement of HCV 5'NCR for HCV-like particles assembly in insect cells显示文摘AIM: To express all three HCV structural proteins in the presence or absence of HCV 5'NCR to investigate the requirement of 5'NCR for the assembly of HCV-like particles in insect cells.METHODS: HCV structural protein encoding sequences CE1E2 and 5'NCR-CE1E2 were amplified with PCR.Recombinant baculovirus were constructed with recombinant DNA techniques. HCV structural proteins expressed in insect cells were analyzed by immunofluorescence and SDS-PAGE.Immunoprecipitation experiment of insect cell lysates with anti-E2 monodonal antibody (Mab) was carried out and the immunoprecipitated proteins were subjected to SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting with anti-C, anti-E2 Mabs and HCV positive serum. The virus-like particles in insect cells were visualized by electron microscopy (EM). The HCV-like particles were purified by sucrose gradient centrifugation and identified by EM and immune aggregation EM.RESULTS: The recombinant baculovirus reBV/CE1E2containing HCV C, E1, E2 genes and reBV/CS containing the same structural protein genes plus 5'NCR were constructed. The insect cells infected with either reBV/CE1E2or reBV/CS expressed HCV C, E1 and E2 proteins with a molecular weight of 20 kD, 35 kD and 66 kD respectively.The results of immunoprecipitation and the immunoblotting revealed the coimmunoprecipitation of C, E1, and E2proteins, indicating the interaction of HCV structural proteins expressed in insect cells. Electron microscopy of insect cells infected with reBV/CE1E2 or reBV/CS demonstrated spherical particles (40 to 60 nm in diameter)similar to the HCV virions from sera or hepatic tissues of HCV infected humans.
