| 3 | Effect of different sources and levels of iron in the diet of sows on iron status in neonatal pigs显示文摘This study was conducted to determine the effects of maternal dietary supplementation of ferrous glycine chelate(Fe-Gly) and ferrous sulfate monohydrate(FeSO_4·H_2O) on the relative organ weight, tissue iron contents, red blood cells(RBC), hemoglobin concentration(HGB) and hematocrit(HCT) in blood, as well as ferritin(Fn), serum iron(SI), and total iron binding capacity(TIBC) in serum of newborn piglets.Forty-five sows(Landrace × Large white, mean parity 3 to 4, no significant differences in BW) were randomly allotted to 9 treatments(n=5 sows/treatment): control(basal diet with no Fe supplementation), the basal diet supplemented with 50, 80, 110 or 140 mg Fe/kg as Fe-Gly, and the basal diet supplemented with 50, 80, 110 or 140 mg Fe/kg as FeSO_4·H_2O.The neonatal piglets(n=45) were used to determine the relative organ weight, tissue iron contents and blood biochemical indices.Compared with the control, the relative weight of spleen and kidney were significantly increased(P < 0.05) in the Fe-Gly groups.The iron contents in liver,spleen, kidney and femur were also found increased(P < 0.05) in the Fe-Gly groups.The RBC(d 1 and 21),HGB(d 1 and 21) and HCT(d 1 and 21) in blood and Fn(d 1) and SI(d 1 and 21) significantly increased(P < 0.05), but the TIBC(d 1 and 21) in serum decreased(P < 0.05) in the Fe-Gly groups.Moreover, the kidney relative weight, iron content in liver, spleen, kidney and femur, RBC(d 1) and HGB(d 21) in blood, and SI(d 1)in the Fe-Gly groups increased(P < 0.05) compared with the FeSO_4·H_2O treatment.Linear and quadratic responses of the kidney relative weight, the iron content in liver, spleen, kidney and femur, RBC(d 1 and 21),HGB(d 1 and 21) and HCT(d 1 and 21) in whole blood, SI(d 1) and TIBC(d 1 and 21) in the Fe-Gly groups were observed(P < 0.05).Linear responses of Fn(d 1 and 21) and SI(d 21) in the Fe-Gly groups, and spleen relative weight, HCT(d 1), Fn(d 1) and TIBC(d 1 and 21) in the FeSO_4·H_2O groups were observed(P < 0.05).These finding suggest that Fe-Gly supplemented at the level of 110 mg/kg in the diet of sows in this experiment is superior to other forms of supplementation, based on HGB concentration, the relative organ weight, tissue iron contents and blood biochemical indices of piglets. | Yan Li Weiren Yang Donghua Dong Shuzhen Jiang Zaibin Yang Yuxi Wang | 2018 | Animal Nutrition2018,,2: | 11 |

| 9 | Comparative profiling of the transcriptional response to soybean cyst nematode infection of soybean roots by deep sequencing显示文摘To gain insight into the changes in the transcriptome of soybean roots during soybean cyst nematode (SCN) infection, we conducted genome-wide gene expression profiling using serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE) combined with Solexa sequencing. More than 3 million tags were generated from the SCN-infected and uninfected roots, and 366941 and 314591 clean UniTags were obtained from SCN-infected and uninfected samples, respectively. In the SCN-infected sample, 48249 UniTags represented 18114 reference genes. In the uninfected control, 46290 UniTags represented 19323 reference genes. Comparison of tag frequencies identified 1405 genes that were expressed at greater levels in SCN-infected roots than in uninfected roots, and 1191 genes that were expressed at lower levels. Quantitative real-time PCR analyses confirmed the changes in mRNA levels observed in our sequencing analyses. A comparable number of genes were upand down-regulated in response to nematode infection, indicating that down-regulation of some genes might be essential in the plant response to nematodes. Our SAGE results showed significant changes in expression of many unreported genes involved in nematode infection. Loud, and Metasequoia glyptostroboides Hu et Cheng has been examined with an atomic force microscope (AFM). The results indicate that the exine substructure units containing sporopollenin in two species are similar in shape, which are granular, but slightly different in size. In Cedrus the substructure unit of pollen exine appears to be 56-99 nm long and 42-74 nm wide, while in Metasequoia it appears to be 81-118 nm long and 43-98 nm wide. It has been observed that the subunits of pollen exine in Cedrus arranged tightly to form short-rod-like or spheroidal pollen exine units, several or more than ten of which formed an island-like structure. There are various spaces among these island-like structures which are interconnected to occupy the entire pollen exine. In Metasequoia, the subunits of pollen exine also arranged tightly with a distribution tendency of cluster of 3-10, however, no obvious boundary exists among these clusters. | 11 | Porous FeO_x/BiVO_(4-δ)S_(0.08): Highly efcient photocatalysts for the degradation of Methylene Blue under visible-light illumination显示文摘Porous S-doped bismuth vanadate with an olive-like morphology and its supported iron oxide(y wt.% FeOx/BiVO4 δS0.08, y =0.06, 0.76, and 1.40) photocatalysts were fabricated using the dodecylamine-assisted alcohol-hydrothermal and incipient wetness impregnation methods, respectively. It is shown that the y wt.% FeOx/BiVO4 δS0.08photocatalysts contained a monoclinic scheetlite BiVO4 phase with a porous olive-like morphology, a surface area of 8.8–9.2 m2/g, and a bandgap energy of 2.38–2.42 eV. There was co-presence of surface Bi5+, Bi3+, V5+, V3+, Fe3+, and Fe2+species in y wt.% FeOx/BiVO4 δS0.08. The 1.40 wt.% FeOx/BiVO4 δS0.08sample performed the best for Methylene Blue degradation under visible-light illumination. The photocatalytic mechanism was also discussed. | 12 | Reduced graphene oxide/silicon nanowire hetero- structures with enhanced photoactivity and superior photoelectrochemical stability显示文摘Silicon nanowires (SiNWs) have been widely studied as light harvesting antennas in photocatalysts due to their ability to absorb broad-spectrum solar radiation, but they are typically limited by poor photoelectrochemical stability. Here, we report the synthesis of reduced graphene oxide-SiNW (rGO-SiNW) heterostructures to achieve greatly improved photocatalytic activity and stability. The SiNWs were synthesized through a metal-assisted electroless etching process and functionalized with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) flakes through a chemical absorption process. Here, the rGO not only functions as a physical protection layer to isolate the SiNWs from the harsh electrochemical environment but also serves as a charge mediator to facilitate the charge separation and transport processes. Furthermore, the rGO may also function as a redox catalyst to ensure efficient utilization of photo-carriers for the desired chemical reactions. Photocatalytic dye degradation studies show that the photoactivity of the heterostructures can be significantly enhanced with an initial activation process and maintained without apparent decay over repeated reaction cycles. Electrochemical and photo- electrochemical studies indicate that the enhanced photoactivity and photostability can be attributed to the more efficient separation of photoexcited charge carriers in SiNWs and the reduced self-oxidation of the surface of the SiNWs during the photocatalytic dye degradation process. | 14 | Enhancement of Arachidonic Acid Production by Mortierella isabellina Through Protoplast Regeneration Mutagenesis显示文摘A developed method was used for the enhancement of arachidonic acid production by M. isabellina. An orthogonal, rotatable and central composite design was applied to determine the optimum conditions for protoplast regeneration mutagenesis. The results showed that a commixture enzyme (cellulase and glusulase) at the concentration of 4%, enzymolysis temperature at 30℃ and enzymolysis time on 7.5 h were the optimal conditions, in which the lethality of M. isabellina spores was 78.4%. After mutagenesis and re-screenings, M. isabellina mutant Y-69 was obtained. GC analysis showed that the yield of arachidonic acid by Y-69 (2.92 g · L-1) was 3.56 times higher than that of the wild-type strain (0.82 g · L-1). | 15 | Carbon-coated Li_4Ti_5O_(12) Anode Materials Synthesized Using H_2TiO_3 as Ti Source显示文摘Two low-cost synthesis routes have been developed to fabricate carbon-coated Li4Ti5O12 by using H2 Ti O3instead of anatase Ti O2 as Ti source through solid-state reaction process. One route is a direct solid mixture of H2 Ti O3, Li2CO3 and pitch followed by high-temperature solid-state reaction. The other includes mixture of H2 Ti O3and Li2CO3 with pitch dissolved in furanidine under vacuum and the same solid-state reaction procedure is followed after the mixture is totally dried. Microstructural investigations indicate that H2 Ti O3exhibits secondary aggregates morphology with primary particle sizes of 10e20 nm. Carbon-coating layers with thickness of 2e3 nm have been observed on Li4Ti5O12 synthesized by the two routes. Cyclic performance, rate capability and electrochemical impedance spectrum of the two Li4Ti5O12/C composites have been performed, which indicate that Li4Ti5O12/C obtained by furanidine-assisted mixture exhibits better electrochemical performance than Li4Ti5O12/C synthesized by direct solid mixture. The possible reasons have been discussed. Precise control of these NCs provides an important foundation for the studies of structure-performance relationships in catalysis, which is critical to the design of NCs with optimized catalytic performances for practical applications. We focus on recent advances in the development of botom-up strategies to control NCs structures for some key catalytic applications, including CO oxidation, selective oxidation of alcohols, semihydrogenation of alkynes, and selective hydrogenation of unsaturated aldehydes and nitrobenzene. hese key applications have been a popular research focus because of their signiicance in green chemistry. | 20 | Photocatalytic degradation of mixed pollutants in aqueous wastewater using mesoporous 2D/2D TiO_(2)(B)-BiOBr heterojunction显示文摘There are multiple contaminants in practical wastewater;and the photodegradation of mixed pollutants is a challenge in the field of photocatalysis.Herein,we design a mesoporous 2D/2D TiO_(2)(B)-BiOBr heterojunction photocatalyst for the photodegradation of mixed pollutants.Such a coupling structure results in an enhancement in the disconnection of photoexcited carriers,and the increase of absorption and reaction sites.The 2D/2D TiO_(2)(B)-BiOBr demonstrates outstanding photocatalytic activity for photodegrading rhodamine B(RhB),methyl orange(MO),tetracycline hydrochloride(TCH),and bisphenol A(BPA)simultaneously under visible light,which is 4.7,1.4,23 and 16.4 times as high as that of original BiOBr,respectively.Our work represents a possible solution to devise promising and efficient photocatalysts for the treatment of practical wastewater in the near future. | Liping Han Bo Li Hao Wen Yuxi Guo Zhan Lin | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,11: | 2 |
