1Ab initio study of the effects of Ag/Mn doping on the electronic structure of LiFePO_4显示文摘Based on density functional theory (DFT) of the first-principle for the cathode materials of lithium ion battery, the electronic structures of Li(Fe1-xMex)PO4 (Me = Ag/Mn, x = 0―0.40) are calculated by plane wave pseudo-potential method using Cambridge serial total energy package (CASTEP) program. The calculated results show that the Fermi level of mixed atoms Fe1-xAgx moves into its conduction bands (CBs) due to the Ag doping. The Li(Fe1-xAgx)PO4 system displays the periodic direct semiconductor characteristic with the increase of Ag-doped concentration. However, for Fe1-xMnx mixed atoms, the Fermi level is pined at the bottom of conduction bands (CBs), which is ascribed to the interaction be-tween Mn(3d) electrons and Fe(4s) electrons. The intensity of the partial density of states (PDOS) near the bottom of CBs becomes stronger with the increase of Mn-doped concentration. The Fermi energy of the Li(Fe1-xMnx)PO4 reaches maximum at x = 0.25, which is consistent with the experimental value of x = 0.20. 3Dead lithium phase investigation of Sn-Zn alloy as anode materials for lithium ion battery显示文摘In this work, based on First-principle plane wave pseudo-potential method, we have carried out an in-depth study on the possible dead lithium phase of Sn-Zn alloy as anode materials for lithium ion batteries. Through investigation, we found that the phases LixSn4Zn4(x = 2, 4, 6, 8) contributed to re-versible capacity, while the phases LixSn4Zn8-(x-4)(x = 4.74, 7.72) led to capacity loss due to high forma-tion energy, namely, they were the dead lithium phases during the charge/discharge process. 6Size and support effects for CO oxidation on supported Pd catalysts显示文摘Supporting Pd catalysts characterized significant different size distribution were obtained using PdCl2,[Pd(NH3)4](NO3)2 and Pd(acac)2 as precursors.High-resolution transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),in-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy were used to examine the dispersion of Pd.Catalytic performance measurements show that the activities for CO oxidation increase as the Pd particle size decreases and the O2/CO ratio increases.The activities under oxygen rich conditions are significantly higher than those at near the stoichiometric conditions.Pd on TiO2 prepared by the Pd(acac)2 precursor is highly dispersed,leading to a considerable activity for CO oxidation at near room temperature.CO oxidation on the 1 wt% Pd/TiO2 and under an O2/CO ratio of 1 characterized an apparent activation energy of 36.7 kJ/mol,which is closed to those reported for CO oxidation on the supported Au catalysts.The present work demonstrates a high catalytic activity of highly dispersed noble metals,and suggests a promising approach of using noble metals as catalysts with exceeding high efficiency.WANG ZhaoWen,LI Bin,CHEN MingShu,WENG WeiZheng & WAN HuiLin State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces National Engineering Laboratory for Green Chemical Productions of Alcohols-Ethers-Esters Department of Chemistry,College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering,Xiamen University,Xiamen 361005,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,9:2
