1Review of soot measurement in hydrocarbon-air flames显示文摘Soot,which is produced in fuel-rich parts of flames as a result of incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons,is the No.2 contributor to global warming after carbon dioxide.Developing soot measurement techniques is important to understand soot formation mechanism and control soot emission.The various soot measurement techniques,such as thermophoretic sampling par-ticles diagnostics followed by electron microscopy analysis,thermocouple particle densitometry,light extinction,laser-induced incandescence,two-color method,and emission computed tomography,are reviewed in this paper.The measurement principle and application cases of these measurement methods are described in detail.The development trend of soot measurement is to realize the on-line measurement of multi-dimensional distributions of temperature,soot volume fraction,soot particle size and other parameters in hydrocarbon-air flames.Soot measurement techniques suitable for both small flames in laboratories and large-scale flames in industrial combustion devices should be developed.Besides,in some special situations,such as high-pressure,zero gravity and micro-gravity flames,soot measurement also should be provided.LOU Chun,CHEN Chen,SUN YiPeng&ZHOU HuaiChun State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion,Huazhong University of Science and Technology,Wuhan 430074,China 2010Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,8:13
2Enantioselective separation and zebrafish embryo toxicity of insecticide beta-cypermethrin显示文摘Enantioselectivity of chiral pollutants is receiving growing concern due to the difference in toxicology and environment fate between enantiomers.In this study,enantiomers of insecticide beta-cypermethrin (beta-CP) were separated on selected chiral column by HPLC,and the toxicity of enantiomers was evaluated using the zebrafish embryo-larval assays.The enantiomers of beta-CP were baseline separated on Chiralcel OD and Chiralpak AD columns and detected by circular dichroism (CD) at 236 nm.Better separation could be achieved at lower temperature (e.g.,20°C) and with lower levels of polar modifiers.Pure enantiomers were obtained on Chiralcel OD.The CD spectra of enantiomers were recorded.By comparing the elution order with a previous similar study,the absolute configuration of beta-CP enantiomers was determined.The individual enantiomers were used in zebrafish embryo test,and the results showed that beta-CP enantioselectively induced yolk sac edema,pericardial edema and crooked body.The 1R-cis-αS and 1R-trans-αS enantiomers showed strong developmental toxicities at concentration of 0.1 mg/L,while the 1S-cis-αR and 1S-trans-αR induced no malformations at higher concentration (e.g.,0.3 mg/L).The results suggest that the enantioselective toxicological effects of beta-CP should be considered when evaluating its ecotoxicological effects.Chao Xu,Wenqing Tu,Chun Lou,Yingying Hong,Meirong Zhao Research Center of Environmental Science,College of Biological and Environmental Engineering,Zhejiang University of Technology,Hangzhou 310032,China. 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5:8

4The impact of combustion characteristics and flame structure on soot formation in oxy-enhanced and oxy-fuel diffusion flames显示文摘Based on a detailed chemical mechanism, impacts of combustion characteristics and flame structure on soot formation in opposed-flow diffusion ethylene flames was studied with different stoichiometric mixture fractions in O2/N2and O2/CO2atmospheres. The results showed the followings. 1) In both atmospheres, with the increase of stoichiometric mixture fraction, the flame structure changed significantly. The stagnation plane shifted toward the oxidizer side. Furthermore, there were less C2H2 but more O and OH to occur in the soot inception zone, therefore the amount of soot in the flame decreased. 2) Compared withN2, CO2had a suppression effect on soot formation, which was mainly due to thermal and direct chemical interaction effects of CO2. This is because the specific heat capacity of CO2is higher than that of N2, which will cause the flame temperature to drop,and mole fractions of C2H2, H, O, OH and main PAHs to decrease. Soot oxidation played a dominant role, while soot surface growth was attributed to the secondary position. Meanwhile, when CO2 abounded in the flame, OH concentration was increased through the backward reaction of CO+OH=CO2+H, and this would be conducive to the oxidation of soot precursor and incipient soot particles. 5Controlled Radical Polymerization of Styrene in the Presence of Different Copper Complexes and Organic Halides显示文摘The polymerization behaviors of Styrene (St) in the presence of CuX/L [X=Cl or Br; L= 2,2 bipyridine (bpy), 1,10 phenanthroline (phen) or 4,7 diphenyl 1,10 phenanthroline (DPP) ] and R X (R=trichloromethyl, benzyl or allyl; X=Cl or Br) have been studied and examined. In a CuCl/bpy/RCl/St system, a bimodal GPC peak at the early stage of polymerization was observed, and a concept of multi active species was proposed to explain this phenomenon. In a CuCl/phen (DPP)/RCl/St system, the \%M\%\-n of polystyrene (PS) increased linearly with St conversion and ln[M] o/[M] also increased linearly with time, indicating the living nature of this system. 6Diagnosis,treatment,and prevention of severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology in children显示文摘Background Severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology in children has recently exhibited a global trend of concentrated occurrence.This review aimed to summarize the current available information regarding the outbreak of severe acute hepatitis and introduce our hospital’s previous experiences with the diagnosis and treatment of severe acute hepatitis for reference.Data sources Websites including the UK Health Security Agency,European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control,CDC,WHO,and databases including PubMed/Medline,Cochrane Library,Embase and Web of Science were searched for articles on severe acute hepatitis in children.Results As of May 26,2022,a total of 650 cases have been reported in 33 countries;at least 38(6%)children required liver transplantation,and nine(1%)died.Cases are predominantly aged between 3 and 5 years old,and there are no epidemiological links among them.The common manifestations are jaundice,vomiting and pale stools.Adenovirus tested positive in most cases,and SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses were detected in a few cases,but virus particles were not found in liver tissue.Adenovirus immunohistochemistry showed immunoreactivity in the intrasinusoidal lumen from some liver samples.The hierarchical treatment includes symptomatic and supportive therapy,management of coagulation disorders and hepatic encephalopathy,artifcial liver support,and liver transplantation(approximately 6%–10%of cases require liver transplant).Conclusions The etiology of this severe acute hepatitis in children is not clear.The clinical features are severe acute hepatitis with signifcantly elevated liver enzymes.Clinicians need to be alert to children with hepatitis.Ying‑Hu Chen Jin‑Gan Lou Zi‑Hao Yang Qing‑Jiang Chen Chun‑Zhen Hua Sheng Ye Chen‑Mei Zhang Jie Chen Zong‑Wei Huang Jin‑Dan Yu Zhi‑Gang Gao Qiang Shu 2022World Journal of Pediatrics2022,18,8:2
