1Metal surface wettability modification by nanosecond laser surface texturing:A review显示文摘Laser surface texturing(LST)is a non-contact manufacturing process for fabricating functional surfaces in a manner that improves the corresponding wettability,and is widely used in biomedicine and industry.Laser surface texturing is a facile approach that is compatible with various materials,can result in a hierarchical texture,and enables a high degree of surface wetting(i.e.,extreme wetting).In addition to surface structures,surface chemical modification is a primary factor in producing extreme wetting surfaces.This review discusses the effects of various surface textures and surface chemistries on wettability.Optimal laser parameters for the desired surface texture are based on the fundamental wettability and laser mechanism.In particular,bumps in the morphology are conducive to obtaining extreme wetting.Diverse surface chemical strategies result in extreme wetting by different mechanisms.This paper makes a rigorous evaluation of the laser parameters and optimal surface chemical modifications by elucidating the relationships between the surface structure,surface chemical modification,and wettability,and in so doing,determines the final wettability.The unresolved problems of LST are presented in the conclusion.This review provides guidance,development directions,and an integrated framework for LST,which will be useful for fabricating extreme wetting surfaces on various metals.Zhifang Liu Tong Niu Yaxi Lei Yuanxin Luo 2022Biosurface and Biotribology2022,8,2:0
2Experimental study on bumps formation textured by nanosecond laser on Ti6Al4V alloy显示文摘The surface properties of biomaterials are the key factors for the success of artificial implants in the body.The creation of patterns on titanium alloys by laser surface texturing techniques can modify the surface to make it multifunctional.The evolution of the surface morphology of Ti6Al4V alloy textured by a nanosecond laser with 1064 nm wavelength in the air is studied.Laser surface texturing treatment is performed on the titanium alloy through different pulse numbers,power,pulse width and scan times to obtain different morphologies.The 2D cross-section profile shows that the morphology can be divided into three types in the evolution process of various pulse numbers,powers and pulse widths:bump-shaped,hump-shaped and crater-shaped.It is found that the effect of pulse width on morphology mainly depends on power.The effects of laser parameters on the height of bumps and the evolution of morphology are the main research points to analyse the topography evolution.The causes of bumps are also analysed.Energy dispersive spectrometer measures the area irradiated by the laser,and it is found that the oxygen content of the bump is up to 43.1%,which can speculate that the bump is the result of the oxidation reaction.Zhifang Liu Tong Niu Yaxi Lei Yuanxin Luo 2023Biosurface and Biotribology2023,9,1:0
3Identification of loci and candidate genes controlling kernel weight in barley based on a population for which whole genome assemblies are available for both parents显示文摘Kernel weight(KW), together with kernel number per unit area, determines yield of cereal crops. Here,two barley recombinant inbred lines(RILs) populations with a shared parent were used to identify loci controlling KW. One is Baudin/AWCS276(BA) for which a linkage map was available. Several largeeffect QTL controlling KW were detected in this population. Another is Morex/AWCS276(MA). A linkage map with 5273 makers formed 1454 clusters, was constructed by the genotyping by sequence(GBS) data of 201 RILs from this population. A single marker was selected to represent each of the clusters and the linkage map constructed with these markers covers a total length of 1022.4 c M with an average interval of approximately 0.7 cM between loci. Three of the large-effect loci controlling KW(located on 2 HL, 6 HL,and 7 HL, respectively) identified from the BA population were also detected in the MA population under different environments. The locus on 6 HL was detected in each of the experiments conducted for both populations thus was selected for developing near isogenic lines(NILs). Apart from KW, the two isolines for each pair of the putative NILs obtained showed no significant difference for any of the morphological characteristics assessed. The average difference in KW between the isolines for all the NILs obtained was about 15% based on assessments under both glasshouse and field conditions. Taken advantage that high quality genome assemblies for both Morex and AWCS276 are available, we identified candidate genes underlying two of the three loci based on an orthologous analysis. 4Conversion of cropland into agroforestry land versus naturally-restored grassland alters soil macro-faunal diversity and trophic structure in the semi-arid agro-pasture zone of northern China显示文摘Restoration of cropland(termed 'Farm') after abandonment including shrubs(termed 'Shrub'),trees(termed 'Tree') and natural grassland(termed 'Grass') has become a routine process aimed to improve land productivity and control desertification. During this restoration process, soil macro-faunal diversity, and trophic structure were investigated at four types of sites(Farm, Shrub, Tree, and Grass)during growing season in the semi-arid agro-pasture zone of northern China. Results indicated that the Staphylinidae family was found to dominate at the Grass, Shrub, and Tree sites, whiles larval Pyralidae individuals were found at the Grass site only. The density of the omnivores(i.e., Formicidae family) was significantly(P<0.05) greater at the Grass site than at the Tree and Farm sites. The total density and richness of predator and phytophages were found to be markedly(P<0.05) greater at the Grass site than at the Farm site. Meanwhile, we found the taxon richness of predators was significantly(P<0.05) higher at the Shrub site than at the Farm and Tree sites. Compared with the Farm and afforested Shrub/Tree sites,the Grass site had greater density, taxon richness, and Shannon index(P<0.05). In conclusion, natural restoration of abandoned croplands toward grassland was an effective strategy relative to artificial afforestation for improvement of soil biological diversity.
