1SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating for volcanic rocks of the Dasi Formation in southeast Hubei Province,middle-lower reaches of the Yangtze River and its implications显示文摘The Jinniu Basin in southeast Hubei,located at the westernmost part of middle-lower val-ley of the Yangtze River,is one of the important vol-canic basins in East China. Volcanic rocks in the Jin-niu Basin are distributed mainly in the Majiashan Formation,the Lingxiang Formation and the Dasi Formation,consisting of rhyolite,basalt and basaltic andesite,(trachy)-basalt and basaltic trachy-andesite and (trachy)-andesite and (trachy)-dacite and rhyolite respectively,in which the Dasi volcanism is volumet-rically dominant and widespread. The Dasi volcanic rocks were selected for SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating to confirm the timing of volcanism. The results indi-cate that there exist a large amount of magmatic zir-cons characterized by high U and Th contents in the volcanic rocks. The concordia ages for 13 points are 128 ± 1Ma (MSWD = 3.0). On account of the shape of zircons and Th/U ratios,this age is considered to represent the crystallization time of the Dasi volcan-ism. The volcanic rocks in the Dasi,Majiashan and Lingxiang Formations share similar trace elementand REE partition patterns as well as Sr-Nd isotopic compositions. In combination with the regional geol-ogy,it is proposed that the southeast Hubei volcanic rocks were formed mainly during the Early Creta-ceous,just like other volcanic basins in middle-lower Yangtze valley. 3Jurassic Intra-plate Basaltic Magmatism in Southeast China:Evidence from Geological and Geochemical Characteristics of the Chebu Gabbroite in Southern Jiangxi Province显示文摘Geochemical and isotopic investigations have been carried out on the Chebu gabbroite in southern Jiangxi Province, southeast China and these results are compared with gabbro bodies along the coast of Fujian Province in order to understand their magma sources and tectonic implications. The Chebu intrusion formed at the beginning of the Middle Jurassic (172±4.3 Ma). These rocks are Ti-rich and Al-poor in major elements, characterized by strong enrichment in large-ion lithophile elements (LILE) and moderate enrichment in high field strength elements (HFSE) and light rare-earth elements (LREE), without pronounced Nb or Ta anomalies. Age-correlated Sr-Nd isotope ratios show moderately high ranges of (87Sr/86Sr)i from 0.7065 to 0.7086 and 0.5124 to 0.5125 of (143Nd/144Nd)i. The geochemical characteristics of the Chebu gabbroite suggest that it is notably different from island-arc basalt and similar to intra-plate basaltic rocks. By combining interpretations of its geological and geochemical characteristics and the regional geological development history, the Chebu gabbroitic intrusion is thought to be the product of asthenosphere upwelling and rapid lithosphere extension during a transition of tectonic systems in southeast China. The tectonic environment and source characteristics of the intrusion are different from Cretaceous gabbro bodies along the coast of Fujian Province, The former formed in a tectonic environment of rapid intra-plate lithospheric extension and the source characteristics were of a weakly enriched primitive mantle, whereas the latter originated mainly in a volcanic-magmatic arc extensional tectonic environment and the nature of the source was an enriched mantle with more subduct subducted components.XIE Guiqing MAO Jingwen HU Ruizhong LI Ruiling JIANG Guohao CAO Jinjian ZHAO Junhong 2005Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2005,79,5:10
4Cd uptake in rice cultivars treated with organic acids and EDTA显示文摘A pot experiment was conducted to examine the activity of antioxidant enzymes, the content of malondialdehyde (MDA), proline and protein, and Cd uptake in different rice cultivars exposed to Cd (0, 1 and 5 mg/kg) in the presence of organic acids and ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA). The results showed the increase in activity of dismutase (SOD), contents of proline and protein but a decline in activities of peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT), and MDA content for cultivars Xiushui63 and IIyou527. The resistance to Cd was higher in Xiushui63 than that in IIyou527 under the same Cd treatment. Cadmium contents in grain, straw and roots of both cultivars were markedly reduced in the presence of organic acids and EDTA. 5Removal of impurities from scandium chloride solution using 732-type resin显示文摘The deep removal of Al, Fe(Ⅱ/Ⅲ), Ca, Zr, Ti and Si from scandium chloride solution was carried out by using 732-type strong acid cation exchange resin. The effects of pH value, contact time and complexing agents(EDTA) on the purification process are investigated. The results indicate that the 732-type resin have a good scandium selectivity and the adsorption order is Sc > Fe(Ⅲ)>Al > Ca > Zr > Ti > Si in the pH range of 1-3. The separation of Sc and Zr, Si, Ti can be directly carried out because the resin have a good adsorption effect on Sc, AI and Fe(Ⅲ) but poor adsorption effect on Zr, Si and Ti under the condition of pH = 2.5 and contact time 180 min. The Fe(Ⅱ), Ca and Al are selectively adsorbed on the resin by adding reducing agent ascorbic acid and EDTA into the solution for reducing Fe(Ⅲ) to Fe(Ⅱ) and complexing Sc.By using two-step ion exchange adsorption separation method, the removal rates of Fe(Ⅲ), Ti, Al, Ca, Zr and Si are 95.5%,99.8%,100%,98.2%,98.6% and 100%,respectively.Guotao Zhou Qinggang Li Pan Sun Wenjuan Guan Guiqing Zhang Zuoying Cao Li Zeng 2018Journal of Rare Earths2018,36,3:7

7Hydraulic resistance partitioning between shoot and root system and plant water status of Haloxyolon ammodendron growing at sites of contrasting soil texture显示文摘Hydraulic resistance components and water relations were studied on Haloxyolon ammoden-dron,a small xeric tree,growing at sites significantly differed in soil texture.Soil water content,leaf water potential(ψl),xylem water potential(ψx),root water potential(ψroot),leaf transpiration rate(TR) and stomatal conductance(gs) were measured at the two sites during the growing season of 2005 and 2006.Leaf spe-cific hydraulic resistance(Rplant) during the whole growing season,hydraulic resistance of plants(Rp),shoots(Rshoot) and roots(Rroot) in the August of both years were calculated and expressed on leaf area basis.The results showed the proportion of the hydraulic resistance of the aerial part(Rshoot) to the Rp was the same to the proportion of the hydraulic resistance of the soil part(Rroot) to the Rp,indicating that both parts were equivalent important to plant water hydraulic system from soil to leaf.Positive significant corre-lations were found between Rp and Rroot,suggesting that root hydraulics resistance was a major determinant of plant hydraulic resistance(Rp) and transpiration rate.The integrated effect of stomatal control,hy-draulic regulation and morphology adjustment enabled plants at heavy soil site surviving the extreme water deficit period.Xu, GuiQing Li, Yan Zou, Ting 2010Journal of Arid Land2010,2,2:4
8He-Ar-S-Pb Isotopic Compositions of Pyrite:Constraints on the Source of Ore-forming Materials of the Chengchao Skarn Iron Deposit,SE Hubei Province,Eastern China显示文摘The Chengchao iron deposit,the largest high-grade skarn iron deposit in southeastern Hubei Province,contains considerable amounts of magnetite and by-product anhydrite.To obtain better understanding of the ore-formation process,this study carried out He-Ar-S-Pb multi-isotopic analyses on the pyrites formed during two stages of mineralization.The results indicate that the δ^(34)S values(ranging from 14.0‰ to 17.6‰) of pyrites formed from the two stages have no obvious differences,suggesting that they were not derived from a single magmatic sulfur source.The δ^(34)S values of anhydrite mostly range from 21.9‰ to 28.4‰,similar to that of the Middle Triassic sedimentary anhydrite in the Middle-Lower Yangtze River metallogenic belt(MLYRB).The Pb isotopic compositions of the pyrites of both stages are homogeneous,with values of ^(208)Pb/^(204)Pb,^(207)Pb/^(204)Pb,and^(206)Pb/^(204)Pb being 38.006-38.257,15.523-15.556,and 17.806-18.052,respectively,indicating a mixed crust-mantle source.The He-Ar results exhibit different compositions of the two stages:the ~3He/~4He(R/Ra) and ^(40)Ar/^(36)Ar values for the early-stage pyrite are 0.46-0.63 and 311-322,respectively,whereas the values for late-stage pyrite are 0.23-0.34 and 305-361,respectively.Both stages of pyrites indicate the multiple sources of the ore-forming fluids,with decreasing amount of magmatic water and increasing amount of modified meteoric water(MASW) during fluid evolution.The Triassic evaporites played an important role in the mineralization process.LI Wei XIE Guiqing ZHU Qiaoqiao 2016Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2016,90,5:3
9Root distribution of three co-occurring desert shrubs and their physiological response to precipitation显示文摘Root distribution of three desert shrubs,Tamarix ramosissima Ledeb.,Haloxylon ammodendron(C.A.Mey.) Bunge and Reaumuria soongorica(Pall.) Maxim.was investigated under co-occurring conditions using a method for excavating the whole root system.Assimilation shoot water potential and transpiration rates were monitored during the wet-dry cycle.Leaf-specific apparent hydraulic conductance and the index of water stress impact for the three species were calculated from shoot water potential and transpiration rate.The results showed that,along the soil profile,the root system of T.ramosissima mainly distributed at 50 to 310 cm interval,with an average total absorbing root-surface area of 30,249.2 cm2 per plant;the root system of H.ammodendraom distributed at 0 to 250 cm interval with an average total absorbing root-surface area of 12,847.3 cm2 per plant;the root system of R.soongorica distributed at 0-80 cm interval,with an average total absorbing root-surface area of 361.8 cm2.The root distribution shows the following:T.ramosissima uses groundwater as its main water source;H.ammodendraom uses both groundwater and rainwater;and R.soongorica uses rainwater only.During the wet-dry cycle,the hydraulic parameters of T.ramosissima showed no responses to precipitation.R.soongorica responded most significantly,and the responses of H.ammodendraom were intermediate.In conclusion,the plant response to rain events is closely related to their root distribution and plant water-use strategy.GuiQing Xu 1,2,Yan Li 1* 1.Fukang Station of Desert Ecology,Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Urumqi 830011,China.2.Graduate School,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100039,China. 2009Research in Cold and Arid Regions2009,1,2:3

11Neck observation versus elective neck dissection in management of clinical T1/2N0 oral squamous cell carcinoma: a retrospective study of 232 patients显示文摘Objective: The management of early-stage(cT1/2N0) oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC) remains a controversial issue. The aim of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes of neck observation(OBS) and elective neck dissection(END) in treating patients with cT1/2N0 OSCC.Methods: A total of 232 patients with cT1/2N0 OSCC were included in this retrospective study. Of these patients, 181 were treated with END and 51 with OBS. The survival curves of 5-year overall survival(OS), diseasespecific survival(DSS), and recurrence-free survival(RFS) rates were plotted using the Kaplan-Meier method for each group, and compared using the Log-rank test.Results: There was no significant difference in 5-year OS and DSS rates between END and OBS groups(OS:89.0% vs. 88.2%, P=0.906; DSS: 92.3% vs. 92.2%, P=0.998). However, the END group had a higher 5-year RFS rate than the OBS group(90.1% vs. 76.5%, P=0.009). Patients with occult metastases in OBS group(7/51) had similar 5-year OS rate(57.1% vs. 64.1%, P=0.839) and DSS rate(71.4% vs. 74.4%, P=0.982) to those in END group(39/181). In the regional recurrence patients, the 5-year OS rate(57.1% vs. 11.1%, P=0.011) and DSS rate(71.4% vs. 22.2%, P=0.022) in OBS group(7/51) were higher than those in END group(9/181).Conclusions: The results indicated that OBS policy could obtain the same 5-year OS and DSS as END. 12GPU-based composite subdivision显示文摘This paper proposes a novel strategy based on fragment meshes of Shiue et al.for GPU rendering of composite subdivision surfaces.Two enumeration systems are established to label the primitives of each fragment mesh.A sector-layer-index enumeration system is responsible for retrieving proximities for subdivision masks while a sector-index enumeration system designates a 2D texture buffer in GPU.Recurring to the free conversion between them,our approach may get rid of lookup tables that are designed to record subdivision masks.In addition,relatively small composite subdivision masks make it easy to develop automatically retrieving techniques.Finally,as center vertices are often irregular,their computation is related to an average with alterable number of items.Considering that variable loop is not efficient in GPU,we evaluate the center vertex of each fragment mesh using the linear combination of its level 0,level 1 and limit positions instead of averaging schemes.Experiments demonstrate that our approach generally outperforms that of Shiue et al.in FPS by a long way.LI Guiqing ZHANG ,liahua LIANG Cheng YIN Mengxiao XIONG Yunhui 2012Computer Aided Drafting,Design and Manufacturing2012,22,3:2
13Daily power demand prediction for buildings at a large scale using a hybrid of physics-based model and generative adversarial network显示文摘Power demand prediction for buildings at a large scale is required for power grid operation.The bottom-up prediction method using physics-based models is popular,but has some limitations such as a heavy workload on model creation and long computing time.Top-down methods based on data driven models are fast,but less accurate.Considering the similarity of power demand patterns of single buildings and the superiority of generative adversarial network(GAN),this paper proposes a new method(E-GAN),which combines a physics-based model(EnergyPlus)and a data-driven model(GAN),to predict the daily power demand for buildings at a large scale.The new E-GAN method selects a small number of typical buildings and utilizes EnergyPlus models to predict their power demands.Utilizing the prediction for those typical buildings,the GAN then is adopted to forecast the power demands of a large number of buildings.To verify the proposed method,the E-GAN is used to predict 24-hour power demands for a set of residential buildings.The results show that(1)4.3%of physics-based models in each building category are required to ensure the prediction accuracy;(2)compared with the physics-based model,the E-GAN can predict power demand accurately with only 5%error(measured by mean absolute percentage error,MAPE)while using only approximately 9%of the computing time;and(3)compared with data-driven models(e.g.,support vector regression,extreme learning machine,and polynomial regression model),E-GAN demonstrates at least 60%reduction in prediction error measured by MAPE.Chenlu Tian Yunyang Ye Yingli Lou Wangda Zuo Guiqing Zhang Chengdong Li 2022Building Simulation2022,15,9:2
14What makes Haloxylon persicum grow on sand dunes while H. ammodendron grow on interdune lowlands: a proof from reciprocal transplant experiments显示文摘Determining the mechanisms underlying the spatial distribution of plant species is one of the central themes in biogeography and ecology. However, we are still far from gaining a full understanding of the autecological processes needed to unravel species distribution patterns. In the current study, by comparing seedling recruitment, seedling morphological performance and biomass allocation of two Haloxylon species, we try to identify the causes of the dune/interdune distribution pattern of these two species. Our results show the soil on the dune had less nutrients but was less saline than that of the interdune; with prolonged summer drought, soil water availability was lower on the dune than on the interdune. Both species had higher densities of seedlings at every stage of recruitment in their native habitat than the adjacent habitat. The contrasting different adaptation to nutrients, salinity and soil water conditions in the seedling recruitment stage strongly determined the distribution patterns of the two species on the dune/interdune. Haloxylon persicum on the dunes had lower total dry biomass, shoot and root dry biomass, but allocated a higher percentage of its biomass to roots and possessed a higher specific root length and specific root area by phenotypic traits specialization than that of Haloxylon ammodendron on the interdune. All of these allowed H. persicum to be more adapted to water stress and nutrient shortage.
