| 2 | Generation of male-sterile soybean lines with the CRISPR/Cas9 system显示文摘Soybean [Glycine max(L.) Merr.] provides a rich source of plant protein and oil worldwide. The commercial use of transgenic technology in soybean has become a classical example of the application of biotechnology to crop improvement. Although genetically modified soybeans have achieved commercial success,hybrid soybean breeding is also a potential way to increase soybean yield. Soybean cytoplasmic malesterile(CMS) lines have been used in three-line hybrid breeding systems, but their application to exploiting soybean heterosis has been limited by rare germplasm resource of sterile lines. The generation of various genetic diversity male-sterile soybean lines will help to overcome the shortcoming. In this study,we used targeted editing of AMS homologs in soybean by CRISPR/Cas9 technology for the first time to generate stable male-sterile lines. Targeted editing of GmAMS1 resulted in a male-sterile phenotype,while editing of GmAMS2 failed to produce male-sterile lines. | 3 | Timing of the terrestrial Permian-Triassic boundary biotic crisis:Implications from U-Pb dating of authigenic zircons显示文摘The Late Permian to Early Triassic transition represents one of the most important Phanerozoic mass extinction episodes. The cause of this event is still in debate between catastrophic and gradual mechanisms. This study uses the U-Pb method on zircons from the uppermost Permian/lowermost Triassic clay deposits at Chahe (Guizhou Province, SW China) to examine time constraints for this event. The results of both this and previous studies show that the ages of Bed 68a and 68c (the upper clay bed of the terrestrial Permian-Triassic boundary (PTB)) respectively are 252.6±2.8 and 247.5±2.8 Ma. This age (within the margin of error) almost accords with the upper clay bed (Bed 28) age of Meishan and the eruption age of Tunguss Basalt, and is so far the most accurate age obtained from terrestrial PTB. The claystone of Bed 68 was formed in the earliest Triassic. The biotic crisis occurred at nearly the same time in terrestrial and marine environments during Permian-Triassic interval; however the extinction patterns and processes are different. | 7 | Coupling electro-mechanical behaviors in the interdigital electrode device of ferroelectrics显示文摘The electro-mechanical coupling behaviors of ferroelectric devices with interdigital electrodes may become complicated due to the material inhomogeneity and local field concentration under the complex working conditions.In this paper,a ferroelectric model,drawn from the typical interdigital electrode structure of a ferroelectric sensor,is established based on phase field theory,to study the polarization evolution and explore the evolution laws in ferroelectrics.Numerical results show that there appears ferroelectric creep even under an applied electric field below the coercive field value.Also,the configurational force theory is introduced to investigate the mechanical behaviors related to polarization switching in the ferroelectric samples with interdigital electrodes.It is found that configurational force and polarization have similar evolution laws in both time evolving and space distribution.And considering the configurational force as the driving force,it is possible to predict the potential direction of polarization evolution and explore its evolution mechanism in ferroelectrics,demonstrating the configurational force as a useful parameter for describing mechanical behavior during the polarization evolution and a powerful tool for investigating the evolution mechanism of microstructure with coupling effects in ferroelectric materials. | Suxin Pan Shilin Xie Qun Li | 2021 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2021,37,4: | 0 |
