| 1 | Spatial patterns of ephemeral plants in Gurbantünggüt Desert显示文摘In the present research,the authors measured parameters of richness,cover and importance value of ephemeral and ephemeroid plants on south-north and east-west transects in the Gurbantünggüt Desert in early spring,and investigated and analyzed the microhabitats,such as terrain,geomorphology,soil physical-chemical properties and crusts. By comparison,the regional differences in the ephemeral distribution in the desert were revealed. The species of ephemeral plants in the south and center are the richest and those in the west are the poorest in the desert. The cover of ephemeral plants in the mid-south is higher than that in the north,and that in the mid-east is higher than that in the west. The response of ephemeral plants to the spatial variation of the desert habitat forms the population-habitat gradient of ephemeral plants. The characteristics are:(1) In the habitat with higher terrain,coarser textured soil with poorer sorting and correspondingly higher organic matter and lower alkali-saline contents,Carex physoides and Eremopyrum orientale are the dominant ephemeral plants;(2) In the dry habitat with lower terrain,looser textured soil,some organic matter,alkali-saline soil,and developed crust,the ephemeral plants Alyssum linifolium and Erodium oxyrrhynchum are of characteristic of drought and alkali-saline tolerance;(3) In the habitat with lower terrain,some water and more alkali-saline soil,the ephemeral plants Neotorularia torulosa and Hypecoum parviflorum being of alkali-saline tolerance are mainly developed. However,most ephemerals are distributed in a habitat order of higher terrain,some organic,and less alkali-saline soil on the above-mentioned ephemeral population-habitat gradient. | 3 | Using remote sensing to research Beijing wetlands dynamics显示文摘In Beijing, where wetlands are important to municipal freshwater conservation and biodiversity retention, three different types of wetlands were identified: riverside wetlands, wetlands surrounding lakes and reservoirs, and wetlands in municipal parks.Remote sensing technology was applied in combination with field investigations to monitor and analyze the changes in these wetlands, and a combination of fusion technologies,Landsat TM/ETM+ and IKONOS imaging, was used to investigate and map them. This study indicates that not only have wetland areas been reduced by half, but also their ecological environments have been degraded because of rapid economic development and population increase. | 5 | Increasing Momentum-Like Factors:A Method for Reducing Training Errors on Multiple GPUs显示文摘In distributed training,increasing batch size can improve parallelism,but it can also bring many difficulties to the training process and cause training errors.In this work,we investigate the occurrence of training errors in theory and train ResNet-50 on CIFAR-10 by using Stochastic Gradient Descent(SGD) and Adaptive moment estimation(Adam) while keeping the total batch size in the parameter server constant and lowering the batch size on each Graphics Processing Unit(GPU).A new method that considers momentum to eliminate training errors in distributed training is proposed.We define a Momentum-like Factor(MF) to represent the influence of former gradients on parameter updates in each iteration.Then,we modify the MF values and conduct experiments to explore how different MF values influence the training performance based on SGD,Adam,and Nesterov accelerated gradient.Experimental results reveal that increasing MFs is a reliable method for reducing training errors in distributed training.The analysis of convergent conditions in distributed training with consideration of a large batch size and multiple GPUs is presented in this paper. | Yu Tang Zhigang Kan Lujia Yin Zhiquan Lai Zhaoning Zhang Linbo Qiao Dongsheng Li | 2022 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2022,27,1: | 1 |

| 8 | Porcine Picornavirus 3C Protease Degrades PRDX6 to Impair PRDX6-mediated Antiviral Function显示文摘Peroxiredoxin-6(PRDX6)is an antioxidant enzyme with both the activities of peroxidase and phospholipase A2(PLA2),which is involved in regulation of many cellular reactions.However,the function of PRDX6 during virus infection remains unknown.In this study,we found that the abundance of PRDX6 protein was dramatically decreased in foot-and-mouth disease virus(FMDV)infected cells.Overexpression of PRDX6 inhibited FMDV replication.In contrast,knockdown of PRDX6 expression promoted FMDV replication,suggesting an antiviral role of PRDX6.To explore whether the activity of peroxidase and PLA2 was associated with PRDX6-mediated antiviral function,a specific inhibitor of PLA2(MJ33)and a specific inhibitor of peroxidase activity(mercaptosuccinate)were used to treat the cells before FMDV infection.The results showed that incubation of MJ33 but not mercaptosuccinate promoted FMDV replication.Meanwhile,overexpression of PRDX6 slightly enhanced type I interferon signaling.We further determined that the viral 3Cprowas responsible for degradation of PRDX6,and 3Cpro-induced reduction of PRDX6 was independent of the proteasome,lysosome,and caspase pathways.The protease activity of 3Cprowas required for induction of PRDX6 reduction.Besides,PRDX6 suppressed the replication of another porcine picornavirus Senecavirus A(SVA),and the 3Cproof SVA induced the reduction of PRDX6 through its proteolytic activity as well.Together,our results suggested that PRDX6 plays an important antiviral role during porcine picornavirus infection,and the viral 3Cproinduces the degradation of PRDX6 to overcome PRDX6-mediated antiviral function. | Congcong Wang Huanhuan Feng Xiangle Zhang Kangli Li Fan Yang Weijun Cao Huisheng Liu Lili Gao Zhaoning Xue Xiangtao Liu Zixiang Zhu Haixue Zheng | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,5: | 1 |

| 10 | An open-accessed inventory of landslides triggered by the M_(S)6.8 Luding earthquake,China on September 5,2022显示文摘This study constructs a preliminary inventory of landslides triggered by the M_(S) 6.8 Luding earthquake based on field investigation and human-computer interaction visual interpretation on optical satellite images.The results show that this earthquake triggered at least 5007 landslides,with a total landslide area of 17.36 km^(2),of which the smallest landslide area is 65 m^(2)and the largest landslide area reaches 120747 m^(2),with an average landslide area of about 3500 m^(2).The obtained landslides are concentrated in the IX intensity zone and the northeast side of the seismogenic fault,and the area density and point density of landslides are 13.8%,and 35.73 km^(-2) peaks with 2 km as the search radius.It should be noted that the number of landslides obtained in this paper will be lower than the actual situation because some areas are covered by clouds and there are no available post-earthquake remote sensing images.Based on the available post-earthquake remote sensing images,the number of landslides triggered by this earthquake is roughly estimated to be up to 10000.This study can be used to support further research on the distribution pattern and risk evaluation of the coseismic landslides in the region,and the prevention and control of landslide hazards in the seismic area. | Yuandong Huang Chenchen Xie Tao Li Chong Xu Xiangli He Xiaoyi Shao Xiwei Xu Tao Zhan Zhaoning Chen | 2023 | Earthquake Research Advances2023,3,1: | 1 |

| 12 | Fluorine substitution position effects on spiro(fluorene-9,9’-xanthene) cored hole transporting materials for high-performance planar perovskite solar cells显示文摘Fluorine substitution in molecular design has become an effective strategy for improving the overall performance of organic photovoltaics.In this study,three low-cost small molecules of spiro-linked hole transporting materials(SFX-O-2 F,SFX-m-2 F,and SFX-p-2 F) endowed with two-armed t rip he ny la mine moieties were synthesized via tuning of the fluorine substitution position,and they were employed for use in highly efficient perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Despite the fluorine substitution position playing a negligible role in the optical and electrochemical properties of the resulting small molecules,the photovoltaic performance thereof was observed to vary significantly.The planar n-i-p PSCs based on SFX-m-2 F demonstrated superior performance(18.86%) when compared to that of the corresponding SFX-o-2 F(9.7%) and SFX-p-2 F(16.33%) under 100 mW cm^(-2) AM1.5 G solar illumination,which is competitive with the performance of the benchmark spiro-OMeTAD-based device(18.98%).Moreover,the SFX-m-2 Fbased PSCs were observed to be more stable than the spiro-OMeTAD-based devices under ambient conditions.The improved performance of SFX-m-2 F is primarily associated with improved morphology,more efficient hole transport,and extraction characteristics at the perovskite/HTM interface.This work demonstrated the application of fluorination engineering to the tuning of material film morphology and charge transfer properties,showing the promising potential of fluorinated SM-HTMs for the construction of low-cost,high-efficiency PSCs. | Zhaoning Li Yikai Yun Hongyan Huang Zhucheng Ding Xuewei Li Baomin Zhao Wei Huang | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6: | 0 |
