1Effects of riverbed scour on seismic performance of high-rise pile cap foundation显示文摘To explore the seismic performance of a high-rise pile cap foundation with riverbed scour, a finite element model for foundations is introduced in the OpenSees finite element framework. In the model, a fiber element is used to simulate the pile shaft, a nonlinear p-y element is used to simulate the soil-pile interaction, and the p-factor method is used to reflect the group effects. A global and local scour model is proposed, in which two parameters, the scour depth of the same row of piles and the difference in the scour depth of the upstream pile and the downstream pile, are included to study the influence of scour on the foundation. Several elasto-plastic static pushover analyses are performed on this finite element model. The analysis results indicate that the seismic capacity (or supply) of the foundation is in the worst condition when the predicted deepest global scout depth is reached, and the capacity becomes larger when the local scour depth is below the predicted deepest global scout depth. Therefore, to evaluate the seismic capacity of a foundation, only the predicted deepest global scout depth should be considered. 2Study on the seismic performance of a double spherical seismic isolation bearing显示文摘In this paper,the configuration and working mechanism of the recently developed double spherical seismic isolation (DSSI) bearing are introduced in detail.Then,vertical displacement of the DSSI bearing due to sliding on a spherical surface is analyzed.The results from seismic performance testing of the bearing are given,and a numerical analysis of a four span continuous girder bridge is performed.The numerical analysis compares the influence of three different bearing arrangement schemes on the structural seismic response,and the results show that the DSSI bearing is effective in increasing the vertical load bearing capacity,reducing the vertical displacement,and controlling the energy dissipation capacity within a certain range.Peng Tianbo Li Jianzhong Xu Yan Fan Lichu 2008Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2008,7,4:4
3New strategy to delay food spoilage:Application of new food contact material with antibacterial function显示文摘Frequent food poisoning and food-borne diseases outbreaking in recent years have caused people to attach great attention to food safety,especially the food contact materials that are essential in the food industrial chains and daily lives,ensuring their clean sanitation are of great importance in blocking microbial contamination and spread of food-borne pathogens.Stainless steel(SS)is one of the most accepted and widely used food contact material,and the Cu-bearing SS possesses excellent antibacterial performance and maintains the original mechanical properties of SS,maybe making it a better substitute for the conventional SS in the food area.Taking advantages of bactericidal and antifouling properties of Cubearing SS,this study simulated a variety of food contact scenarios,explored a new strategy for food preservation and food safety by using Cu-bearing SS as a food contact material.The results showed that the Cu-bearing SS could not only delay the spoilage of different foods by inhibiting the activity of microorganisms in foods,but also reduce the expressions of spoilage traits of bacteria as well as the formation of biofilms by quenching the quorum-sensing signals,and further creating a good bacteriostatic atmosphere for the contacted food and its surrounding environment.In addition,the remarkable antifouling property of Cu-bearing SS would give the material a self-cleaning feature for food applications,which can avoid secondary contamination of food as a source of contamination.This study well demonstrates that the Cu-bearing SS has broad application potentials and prospects in the food area.Xinrui Zhang Xiaofang Liu Chunguang Yang Tong Xi Jinlong Zhao Lichu Liu Ke Yang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,11:2

20Role of interfacial electron transfer reactions on sulfamethoxazole degradation by reduced nontronite activating H_(2)O_(2)显示文摘It has been documented that organic contaminants can be degraded by hydroxyl radicals(•OH)produced by the activation of H2O2 by Fe(II)-bearing clay.However,the interfacial electron transfer reactions between structural Fe(Ⅱ)and H_(2)O_(2) for•OH generation and its effects on contaminant remediation are unclear.In this study,we first investigated the relation between•OH generation sites and sulfamethoxazole(SMX)degradation by activating H2O2 using nontronite with different reduction extents.SMX(5.2–16.9μmol/L)degradation first increased and then decreased with an increase in the reduction extent of nontronite from 22% to 62%,while the•OH production increased continually.Passivization treatment of edge sites and structural variation results revealed that interfacial electron transfer reactions between Fe(Ⅱ)and H2O2 occur at both the edge and basal plane.The enhancement on basal plane interfacial electron transfer reactions in a high reduction extent rNAu-2 leads to the enhancement on utilization efficiencies of structural Fe(Ⅱ)and H_(2)O_(2) for•OH generation.However,the•OH produced at the basal planes is less efficient in oxidizing SMX than that of at edge sites.Oxidation of SMX could be sustainable in the H_(2)O_(2)/rNAu-2 system through chemically reduction.The results of this study show the importance role of•OH generation sites on antibiotic degradation and provide guidance and potential strategies for antibiotic degradation by Fe(Ⅱ)-bearing clay minerals in H2O2-based treatments.Hao-Jie Cui Yaqi Ning CongWu Wei Peng Dong Cheng Lichu Yin Weijun Zhou Wenjuan Liao 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2:0
