1In vitro degradation and biocompatibility of Mg-Nd-Zn-Zr alloy显示文摘In this study,in vitro degradation and biocompatibility of Mg-Nd-Zn-Zr(NZK) alloy were investigated to determine its suitability as a degradable medical biomaterial.Its corrosion properties were evaluated by static immersion test,electrochemical corrosion test,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and energy dispersive spectroscopic(EDS) analysis,and in vitro biocompatibilities were assessed by hemolysis and cytotoxicity tests.Pure magnesium was used as control.The results of static immersion test and electrochemical corrosion test in simulated body fluid(SBF) demonstrated that the addition of alloying elements could improve the corrosion resistance.The hemolysis test found that the hemolysis rate of calcium phosphate coated NZK alloy was 4.8%,which was lower than the safe value of 5%.The cytotoxicity test indicated that NZK alloy extracts did not significantly reduce MC3T3-E1 cell viability.Hemolysis test and cytotoxicity test display excellent hemocompatibility and cytocompatibility of NZK alloy in vitro.Our data indicate that NZK alloy has excellent biocompatibility and thus can be considered as a potential degradable medical biomaterial for orthopedic applications.WANG YongPing HE YaoHua ZHU ZhaoJin JIANG Yao ZHANG Jian NIU JiaLin MAO Lin YUAN GuangYin 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,17:8
2Statolith Morphology of the Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis in the Central South China Sea显示文摘The morphology,microstructure and demographic parameters of statolith of Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis were studied from 90 individuals captured in the central South China Sea in September and October,2012. The morphologic results showed that the statolith has great lateral dome and wing dome,small dorsal dome,and long narrow rostrum dome. S. Oualaniensis could be divided into three populations by statolith morphology in the central South China Sea. Five most important featured parameters including total statolith length( TSL),wing length( WL),maximum width( MW) were described by logarithmic functions with mental length( ML)( P < 0. 05); rostrum length( RSL),dorsolateral length( DLL) were described by linear functions with ML( P < 0. 05). 4Synthesis and antiviral activities of a novel class of thioflavone and flavonoid analogues显示文摘A novel class of thioflavone and flavonoid derivatives has been prepared and their antiviral activities against enterovirus 71(EV71)and the coxsackievirus B3(CVB3)and B6(CVB6)were evaluated.Compounds 7d and 9b showed potent antiviral activities against EV71 with ICso values of 8.27 and 5.48μM,respectively.Compound 7f,which has been synthesized for the first time in this work,showed the highest level of inhibitory activity against both CVB3 and CVB6 with an ICso value of 0.62 and 0.87μM.Compounds 4b,7a,9c and 9e also showed strong inhibitory activities against both the CVB3 and CV B6 at low concentrations(IC_(50)=1.42-7.15μM),whereas compounds 4d,7c,7e and 7g showed strong activity against CVB6(IC_(50)=2.91-3.77μM)together with low levels of activity against CVB3.Compound 7d exhibited stronger inhibitory activity against CVB3(IC_(50)=6.44μM)thaln CVB6(IC_(50)>8.29μM).The thioflavone derivatives 7a,7c,7d,7e,7f and 7g,represent a new class of lead compounds for the development of novel antiviral agents.Dajun Zhang Xingyue Ji Rongmei Gao Huiqiang Wang Shuai Meng Zhaojin Zhong Yuhuan Lin Jiandong Jiang Zhuorong Li 2012Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,6:0
5Seasonal variations in diversity and abundance of surface ichthyoplankton in the northern South China Sea显示文摘The objective of this study was to investigate the seasonal variations of ichthyoplankton diversity and abundance in the northern South China Sea based on the data collected during summer, winter and spring. In total, 95 taxa of larval fishes were identified. The greatest number of species was recorded in spring, followed by summer and winter. The number of species was distributed mainly in the coastal waters from the east of Leizhou Peninsula to the southeast of Hainan Island during the surveyed periods of summer and spring, but in the offshore waters during winter. The abundance of larval fish was lowest in winter, increased in spring, and reached the maximum in summer. High abundance of larval fish was generally restricted to coastal waters with the isobaths less than 50 m. Seasonal variations of larval fish richness, abundance and diversity index were significant(P<0.001). Carangidae was the most common and abundant taxon in summer and winter, while Sardinella sp., Thrissa mystax and Leiognathus sp. were dominant in spring.
