| 2 | Totally homogeneous networks显示文摘In network science,the non-homogeneity of node degrees has been a concerning issue for study.Yet,with today’s modern web technologies,the traditional social communication topologies have evolved from node-central structures into online cycle-based communities,urgently requiring new network theories and tools.Switching the focus from node degrees to network cycles could reveal many interesting properties from the perspective of totally homogenous networks or sub-networks in a complex network,especially basic simplexes(cliques)such as links and triangles.Clearly,compared with node degrees,it is much more challenging to deal with network cycles.For studying the latter,a new clique vector-space framework is introduced in this paper,where the vector space with a basis consisting of links has a dimension equal to the number of links,that with a basis consisting of triangles has the dimension equal to the number of triangles and so on.These two vector spaces are related through a boundary operator,for example mapping the boundary of a triangle in one space to the sum of three links in the other space.Under the new framework,some important concepts and methodologies from algebraic topology,such as characteristic number,homology group and Betti number,will play a part in network science leading to foreseeable new research directions.As immediate applications,the paper illustrates some important characteristics affecting the collective behaviors of complex networks,some new cycle-dependent importance indexes of nodes and implications for network synchronization and brain-network analysis. | Dinghua Shi Linyuan Lu Guanrong Chen | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,5: | 4 |

| 18 | Genetic susceptibility loci of lung cancer are associated with malignant risk of pulmonary nodules and improve malignancy diagnosis based on CEA levels显示文摘Objective:The heightened prevalence of pulmonary nodules(PN)has escalated its significance as a public health concern.While the precise identification of high-risk PN carriers for malignancy remains an ongoing challenge,genetic variants hold potentials as determinants of disease susceptibility that can aid in diagnosis.Yet,current understanding of the genetic loci associated with malignant PN(MPN)risk is limited.Methods:A frequency-matched case-control study was performed,comprising 247 MPN cases and 412 benign NP(BNP)controls.We genotyped 11 established susceptibility loci for lung cancer in a Chinese cohort.Loci associated with MPN risk were utilized to compute a polygenic risk score(PRS).This PRS was subsequently incorporated into the diagnostic evaluation of MPNs,with emphasis on serum tumor biomarkers.Results:Loci rs10429489G>A,rs17038564A>G,and rs12265047A>G were identified as being associated with an increased risk of MPNs.The PRS,formulated from the cumulative risk effects of these loci,correlated with the malignant risk of PNs in a dose-dependent fashion.A high PRS was found to amplify the MPN risk by 156%in comparison to a low PRS[odds ratio(OR)=2.56,95%confidence interval(95%CI),1.40−4.67].Notably,the PRS was observed to enhance the diagnostic accuracy of serum carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)in distinguishing MPNs from BPNs,with diagnostic values rising from 0.716 to 0.861 across low-to high-PRS categories.Further bioinformatics investigations pinpointed rs10429489G>A as an expression quantitative trait locus.Conclusions:Loci rs10429489G>A,rs17038564A>G,and rs12265047A>G contribute to MPN risk and augment the diagnostic precision for MPNs based on serum CEA concentrations. | Zhi Li Liming Lu Yibin Deng Amei Zhuo Fengling Hu Wanwen Sun Guitian Huang Linyuan Liu Boqi Rao Jiachun Lu Lei Yang | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2023,35,5: | 0 |

| 20 | MSCs-derived apoptotic extracellular vesicles promote muscle regeneration by inducing Pannexin 1 channel-dependent creatine release by myoblasts显示文摘Severe muscle injury is hard to heal and always results in a poor prognosis.Recent studies found that extracellular vesicle-based therapy has promising prospects for regeneration medicine,however,whether extracellular vesicles have therapeutic effects on severe muscle injury is still unknown.Herein,we extracted apoptotic extracellular vesicles derived from mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs-Apo EVs)to treat cardiotoxin induced tibialis anterior(TA)injury and found that MSCs-Apo EVs promoted muscles regeneration and increased the proportion of multinucleated cells.Besides that,we also found that apoptosis was synchronized during myoblasts fusion and MSCs-Apo EVs promoted the apoptosis ratio as well as the fusion index of myoblasts.Furthermore,we revealed that MSCs-Apo EVs increased the relative level of creatine during myoblasts fusion,which was released via activated Pannexin 1 channel.Moreover,we also found that activated Pannexin 1 channel was highly expressed on the membrane of myoblasts-derived Apo EVs(Myo-Apo EVs)instead of apoptotic myoblasts,and creatine was the pivotal metabolite involved in myoblasts fusion.Collectively,our findings firstly revealed that MSCs-Apo EVs can promote muscle regeneration and elucidated that the new function of Apo EVs as passing inter-cell messages through releasing metabolites from activated Pannexin 1 channel,which will provide new evidence for extracellular vesicles-based therapy as well as improving the understanding of new functions of extracellular vesicles. | Qingyuan Ye Xinyu Qiu Jinjin Wang Boya Xu Yuting Su Chenxi Zheng Linyuan Gui Lu Yu Huijuan Kuang Huan Liu Xiaoning He Zhiwei Ma Qintao Wang Yan Jin | 2023 | International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,1: | 0 |
