| 1 | Mitochondrial DNA variation analysis suggests extreme low genetic diversity in Guizhou snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus brelichi)显示文摘Guizhou snub-nosed monkey (Rhinopithecus brelichi) is a unique, endangered primate in China, mainly distributed in Fanjing Mountain National Natural Reserve, Guizhou Province, in an area of 275 km2. Recently, habitat loss and fragmentation have caused population isolation. To assess genetic diversity within this species and its population structure, we sequenced 400 bp of the hypervariable I segment from the mitochondrial DNA control region for 128 individuals. Only one haplotype was identified from these individuals. | 2 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. By using a self-developed transient aerodynamic thermal simulation system, the thermal protection performance of superalloy honeycomb panel was tested in this paper at different transient heating rates ranging from5℃/s to 30℃/s, with the maximum instantaneous temperature reaching 950℃.Furthermore, the thermal protection performance of superalloy honeycomb structure under simulated thermal environments was computed for different high heating rates by using 3D finite element method, and a comparison between calculational and experimental results was carried out. The multiple transfer parameters graphical evaluation and review technique(MTP-GERT) is used to model the logistic support process in consideration of two important factors, support activity time and support activity resources, which are two primary causes for the logistic support process uncertainty. On this basis,a global sensitivity analysis(GSA) method based on covariance is designed to analyze the logistic support process uncertainty. | 5 | Carbon-Based Metal-Free Electrocatalysts:Past,Present,and Future显示文摘CONSPECTUS:Due to the overuse of fossil fuels,various detrimental effects along with the excess CO_(2)emissions have induced global warming and sea-level rising.To tackle climate change and provide a cleaner environment for the air we breathe and water we consume,the existing energy mix needs to be changed into fossil-free,clean,renewable energy with zero emission(e.g.,fuel cells).While providing a promising and scalable strategy to the energy and environmental challenges,renewable energy processes often involve noble-metal-based catalysts(i.e.,Pt,RuO_(2)).However,the disadvantages of noblemetal-based catalysts,including their high cost and scarcity,have hampered the large-scale application of renewable energy technologies.In 2009,we discovered earth-abundant carbon materials functioning as efficient low-cost,carbon-based metal-free electrocatalysts(C-MFECs)attractive for renewable energy and environmental remediation.Since then,C-MFECs have become an emerging new research field over the world.They are demonstrated to be efficient multifunctional catalysts for various key reactions important to renewable energy and environmental technologies,including oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),oxygen evolution reaction(OER),CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR),and N_(2)reduction reaction(NRR),to name a few.Charge transfer/redistribution induced by heteroatom(e.g.,N)and/or defect doping was recognized as the driving force for the metal-free catalytic activities.This finding has been used as a guidance to design and develop various new and multifunctional C-MFECs for many reactions even beyond the renewable energy and environmental remediation.In this Account,we first summarize our previous work on the development and mechanistic understanding of C-MFECs for ORR,HER,and OER to promote renewable energy conversion and storage.Then,we present recent advances in C-MFECs for new important reactions for environment remediation(e.g.,CO_(2)RR,NRR),seawater splitting,and metal−CO_(2)batteries.However,different dopant locations for C-MFECs even with the same doping element and content can cause variable catalytic properties for heteroatom-doped carbon materials.Therefore,vast opportunities remain for further developing numerous innovative C-MFECs with defined structures to gain a better understanding of their structure-based properties.In this context,we finally conclude with the current challenges and future perspectives in this exciting field. | Qingfeng Zhai Ying Pan Liming Dai | 2021 | Accounts of Materials Research2021,2,12: | 3 |
| 6 | LA-ICP-MS U–Pb geochronology of detrital zircons from the Zhaochigou Formation-complex in the Helan Mountain and its tectonic significance显示文摘This paper carries out studies about LA-ICPMS U–Pb dating and Hf isotopic compositional analysis for detrital zircons in two metasedimentary samples that were taken from the Zhaochigou Formation-complex in the Helan Mountain.The results show that the Zhaochigou Formation-complex formed*1.96 Ga,and it is a part of the Khondalite Series that is widespread in the North China Craton(NCC).The age spectrum of the detrital zircons indicates that the Zhaochigou Formation-complex shared the same provenance with the eastern edge of the Khondalite Series.Products of ancient magmatic activities within the Khondalite Belt may be the major source for the sedimentary materials that formed the Khondalite Series.Our age-dating results suggest that the Khondalite Series in the NCC may have experienced two stages of metamorphism,as the early stage occurred during 1.96–1.95 Ga,and the later stage occurred at about 1.87 Ga.The Hfisotopic data indicate that the Western Block of the NCC endured a stage of crustal growth at 2.5–2.3 Ga. | Liming Li Zuoxun Zeng Yanjun Lu Yunxu Wei Shimin Xiang Lili Pan | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,13: | 3 |

| 9 | Sedimentation behavior of indoor airborne microparticles显示文摘Experiments on the behavior of airborne microparticle sediments and their adhesion on glass slides were conducted in a laboratory located on the first floor of a teaching building. Clean tiles and glass slides were placed at different angles (0°, 45° and 90°) with respect to the horizontal plane in the laboratory. The sedimentation of microparticles was investigated at certain time in- tervals (1 d, 3 d, 10 d and 30 d). The results of testing, at day 30, show that the diameters of particles on the horizontal tiles varied from 20 to 80 μm; few particles with diameter less than 0.5 μm or greater than 100 μm were found. The amount of particle sedi- ment on all the slides increased along over time, while the average diameter of particles was not correlated with time, nor with the angle of placement. The maximum particle size, the total particle surface area, the total perimeter of all particles and the cover ratio of light (the proportion of total area of particles to the observed area of the slides surfaces) did not change significantly within the first 10 days. | 10 | Synergistic effects of autophagy/mitophagy inhibitors and magnolol promote apoptosis and antitumor efficacy显示文摘Mitochondria as a signaling platform play crucial roles in deciding cell fate.Many classic anticancer agents are known to trigger cell death through induction of mitochondrial damage.Mitophagy,one selective autophagy,is the key mitochondrial quality control that effectively removes damaged mitochondria.However,the precise roles of mitophagy in tumorigenesis and anticancer agent treatment remain largely unclear.Here,we examined the functional implication of mitophagy in the anticancer properties of magnolol,a natural product isolated from herbal Magnolia officinalis.First,we found that magnolol induces mitochondrial depolarization,causes excessive mitochondrial fragmentation,and increases mitochondrial reactive oxygen species(mtROS).Second,magnolol induces PTEN-induced putative kinase protein 1(PINK1)-Parkin-mediated mitophagy through regulating two positive feedforward amplification loops.Third,magnolol triggers cancer cell death and inhibits neuroblastoma tumor growth via the intrinsic apoptosis pathway.Moreover,magnolol prolongs the survival time of tumor-bearing mice.Finally,inhibition of mitophagy by PINK1/Parkin knockdown or using inhibitors targeting different autophagy/mitophagy stages significantly promotes magnolol-induced cell death and enhances magnolol's anticancer efficacy,both in vitro and in vivo.Altogether,our study demonstrates that magnolol can induce autophagy/mitophagy and apoptosis,whereas blockage of autophagy/mitophagy remarkably enhances the anticancer efficacy of magnolol,suggesting that targeting mitophagy may be a promising strategy to overcome chemoresistance and improve anticancer therapy. | Yancheng Tang Liming Wang Tao Yi Jun Xu Jigang Wang Jiang-Jiang Qin Qilei Chen Ka-Man Yip Yihang Pan Peng Hong Yingying Lu Han-Ming Shen Hu-Biao Chen | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12: | 2 |
| 11 | Ultrasonic Welding of Magnesium–Titanium Dissimilar Metals:A Study on Thermo-mechanical Analyses of Welding Process by Experimentation and Finite Element Method显示文摘Ultrasonic welding is an effective ways to achieve a non-reactive/immiscible heterogeneous metal connection, such as the connection of magnesium alloy and titanium alloy. But the thermal mechanism of magnesium alloy/titanium alloy ultrasonic welding has not been defined clearly. In this paper, the experimental and the finite element analysis were adopted to study the thermal mechanism during welding. Through the test, the temperature variation law during the welding process is obtained, and the accuracy of the finite element model is verified. The microscopic analysis indicates that at the welding time of 0.5 s, the magnesium alloy in the center of the solder joint is partially melted and generates the liquid phase. Through the finite element analysis, the friction coefficient of the magnesium–titanium ultrasonic welding interface can be considered as an average constant value of 0.28. The maximum temperature at the interface can exceed 600 ℃ to reach the melting point temperature of the magnesium alloy. | 12 | Equality Testing for Soil Grid Unit Resolutions to Polygon Unit Scales with DNDC Modeling of Regional SOC Pools显示文摘Matching soil grid unit resolutions with polygon unit map scales is important to minimize the uncertainty of regional soil organic carbon(SOC) pool simulation due to their strong influences on the modeling.A series of soil grid units at varying cell sizes was derived from soil polygon units at six map scales,namely,1:50 000(C5),1:200 000(D2),1:500 000(P5),1:1 000 000(N1),1:4 000 000(N4) and 1:14 000 000(N14),in the Taihu Region of China.Both soil unit formats were used for regional SOC pool simulation with a De Nitrification-DeC omposition(DNDC) process-based model,which spans the time period from 1982 to 2000 at the six map scales.Four indices,namely,soil type number(STN),area(AREA),average SOC density(ASOCD) and total SOC stocks(SOCS) of surface paddy soils that were simulated by the DNDC,were distinguished from all these soil polygon and grid units.Subjecting to the four index values(IV) from the parent polygon units,the variations in an index value(VIV,%) from the grid units were used to assess its dataset accuracy and redundancy,which reflects the uncertainty in the simulation of SOC pools.Optimal soil grid unit resolutions were generated and suggested for the DNDC simulation of regional SOC pools,matching their respective soil polygon unit map scales.With these optimal raster resolutions,the soil grid units datasets can have the same accuracy as their parent polygon units datasets without any redundancy,when VIV < 1% was assumed to be a criterion for all four indices.A quadratic curve regression model,namely,y = – 0.80 × 10^(–6)x^2 + 0.0228 x + 0.0211(R^2 = 0.9994,P < 0.05),and a power function model R? = 10.394?^(0.2153)(R^2 = 0.9759,P < 0.05) were revealed,which describe the relationship between the optimal soil grid unit resolution(y,km) and soil polygon unit map scale(1:10 000x),the ratio(R?,%) of the optimal soil grid size to average polygon patch size(?,km^2) and the ?,with the highest R^2 among different mathematical regressions,respectively.This knowledge may facilitate the grid partitioning of regions during the investigation and simulation of SOC pool dynamics at a certain map scale,and be referenced to other landscape polygon patches' mesh partition. | YU Dongsheng PAN Yue ZHANG Haidong WANG Xiyang NI Yunlong ZHANG Liming SHI Xue-zheng | 2017 | Chinese Geographical Science2017,27,4: | 2 |

| 17 | Virus-inspired surface-nanoengineered antimicrobial liposome:A potential system to simultaneously achieve high activity and selectivity显示文摘Enveloped viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 frequently have a highly infectious nature and are considered effective natural delivery systems exhibiting high efficiency and specificity.Since simultaneously enhancing the activity and selectivity of lipopeptides is a seemingly unsolvable problem for conventional chemistry and pharmaceutical approaches,we present a biomimetic strategy to construct lipopeptide-based mimics of viral architectures and infections to enhance their antimicrobial efficacy while avoiding side effects.Herein,a surface-nanoengineered antimicrobial liposome(SNAL)is developed with the morphological features of enveloped viruses,including a moderate size range,lipid-based membrane structure,and highly lipopeptide-enriched bilayer surface.The SNAL possesses virus-like infection to bacterial cells,which can mediate high-efficiency and high-selectivity bacteria binding,rapidly attack and invade bacteria via plasma membrane fusion pathway,and induce a local“burst”release of lipopeptide to produce irreversible damage of cell membrane.Remarkably,viral mimics are effective against multiple pathogens with low minimum inhibitory concentrations(1.6-6.3μg mL1),high bactericidal efficiency of>99%within 2 h,>10-fold enhanced selectivity over free lipopeptide,99.8%reduction in skin MRSA load after a single treatment,and negligible toxicity.This bioinspired design has significant potential to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of lipopeptides and may create new opportunities for designing next-generation antimicrobials. | Yin Shi Xiaoqian Feng Liming Lin Jing Wang Jiaying Chi Biyuan Wu Guilin Zhou Feiyuan Yu Qian Xu Daojun Liu Guilan Quan Chao Lu Xin Pan Jianfeng Cai Chuanbin Wu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,10: | 1 |
| 18 | Surface decoration of development-inspired synthetic N-cadherin motif via Ac-BP promotes osseointegration of metal implants显示文摘Research works on the synergistic effect of surface modified bioactive molecules and bone metal implants have been highlighted.N-cadherin is regarded as a key factor in directing cell-cell interactions during the mesenchymal condensation preceding the osteogenesis in the musculoskeletal system.In this study,the N-cadherin mimetic peptide(Cad)was biofunctionalized on the titanium metal surface via the acryloyl bisphosphonate(Ac-BP).To learn the synergistic effect of N-cadherin mimetic peptide,when tethered with titanium substrates,on promoting osteogenic differentiation of the seeded human mesenchymal stem cells(hMSCs)and the osseointegration at the bone-implant interfaces.Results show that the conjugation of N-cadherin mimetic peptide with Ac-BP promoted the osteogenic gene markers expression in the hMSCs.The biofunctionalized biomaterial surfaces promote the expression of the Wnt/β-catenin downstream axis in the attached hMSCs,and then enhance the in-situ bone formation and osseointegration at the bone-implant interfaces.We conclude that this N-cadherin mimetic peptide tethered on Ti surface promote osteogenic differentiation of hMSCs and osseointegration of biomaterial implants in vitro and in vivo.These findings demonstrate the importance of the development-inspired surface bioactivation of metal implants and shed light on the possible cellular mechanisms of the enhanced osseointegration. | Meiling Zhu Kunyu Zhang Lu Feng Sien Lin Qi Pan Liming Bian Gang Li | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,5: | 1 |

| 20 | 长期应用国产醋酸亮丙瑞林微球(单月剂型)治疗转移性前列腺癌时对血清睾酮的抑制和潜在刺激作用(英文)显示文摘Objective: We aimed to evaluate the efficiency of serum testosterone suppression as well as the potential for agonistic stimulation of serum testosterone during chronic treatment with monthly(3.75 mg) depot formulation of domestic substitute of leuprorelin acetate microspheres for patients with metastatic prostate cancer. Methods: A total of 23 patients with metastatic prostate cancer were enrolled in the prospective study and received 6 monthly intramuscular depot injections of domestic substitute of leuprorelin acetate microspheres. Their levels and patterns of serum testosterone suppression and the potential for agonistic stimulation of serum testosterone were monitored following injection monthly(3.75 mg) depot formulation of domestic substitute of leuprorelin acetate microspheres for 24 weeks. Results: Mean testosterone was 431.4 ng/dL, 119.3 ng/dL, 28.2 ng/dL by week 1, 2, 3 and decreased to less than 15.6 ng/dL by week 4 where it remained throughout the treatment period. Median time to suppression of serum testosterone was 20.7 days. No transient minor 'escape' from suppression occurred in all patients which was defined as a single testosterone value greater than 50 ng/dL once suppression was achieved. Assessment of agonistic stimulation following the second depot injection revealed no pattern of stimulation.
