1Intensive phototherapy vs.exchange transfusion for the treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia:a multicenter retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background:Intensive phototherapy(IPT)and exchange transfusion(ET)are the main treatments for extreme hyperbilirubinemia.However,there is no reliable evidence on determining the thresholds for these treatments.This multicenter study compared the effectiveness and complications of IPT and ET in the treatment of extreme hyperbilirubinemia.Methods:This retrospective cohort study was conducted in seven centers from January 2015 to January 2018.Patients with extreme hyperbilirubinemia that met the criteria of ET were included.Patients were divided into three subgroups(low-,medium-,and high-risk)according to gestational week and risk factors.Propensity score matching(PSM)was performed to balance the data before treatment.Study outcomes included the development of bilirubin encephalopathy,duration of hospitalization,expenses,and complications.Mortality,auditory complications,seizures,enamel dysplasia,ocular motility disorders,athetosis,motor,and language development were evaluated during follow-up at age of 3 years.Results:A total of 1164 patients were included in this study.After PSM,296 patients in the IPT only group and 296 patients in the IPT plus ET group were further divided into the low-,medium-,and high-risk subgroups with 188,364,and 40 matched patients,respectively.No significant differences were found between the IPT only and IPT plus ET groups in terms of morbidity,complications,and sequelae.Hospitalization duration and expenses were lower in the low-and medium-risk subgroups in the IPT only group.Conclusions:In this study,our results suggest that IPT is a safe and effective treatment for extreme hyperbilirubinemia.The indication of ET for patients with hyperbilirubinemia could be stricter.However,it is necessary to have a contingency plan for emergency ET as soon as IPT is commenced especially for infants with risk factors.If IPT can be guaranteed and proved to be therapeutic,ET should be avoided as much as possible.Meng Zhang Yang He Jun Tang Wenbin Dong Yong Zhang Benjin Zhang Hong Wan Quanmin Deng Lirong Guan Bin Xia Zhong Chen Min Ge Jing Zhao Wenxing Li Jingjun Pei Yi Qu Dezhi Mu 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,5:7
2The soil configuration on granite residuals affects Benggang erosion by altering the soil water regime on the slope显示文摘A permanent collapsing gully,locally called Benggang,formed on slopes with deep granite red soil and is a type of unique gully erosion widely prevalent in southern China.Three different soil configurations(SC),ie,red-transition-sandy(SC I,the transition is the soil layer between the red soil and the sandy soil layer),transition-sandy(SC II)or sandy(SC III)are usually present in the soil profile of the Benggang slope.However,little attention has been paid to impacts of SCs on the triggering of Benggang erosion.In this study,we aimed to explore the relationships between soil water content(SWC)and triggering of Benggang erosion under different SC conditions.The soil properties of different soil layers were measured and the SWC at depths of 20,40,60,and 80 cm were monitored at 5-min intervals along a typical Benggang(SC I)during 2016-2018.The SWC of Benggang slopes with different SCs were simulated by VADOSE/W model.Results showed that the red soil layer had a higher water retention capacity and shear strength than the sandy soil layer.Even if the SWC is higher(e.g.,0.42 cm^(3)/cm^(3))at red soil layer or transition layer,the corresponding shear strength is greater than that of sandy soil layer with a lower SWC(e.g.,032 cm^(3)/cm^(3)).Relationships between shear strength and SWC of different soil layers indicate that Benggang erosion is triggered by an increase in the SWC in the deep sandy layer.Results also showed that differences exist in the SWC distribution among the different SCs.The SWC is higher in topsoil than in deeper soil in SC I and SC II,while in SC III,the opposite trend is observed.These results revealed that the presence of the red soil or transition layer can reduce the infiltration of rainwater into the deep sandy layer,thus can reduce the possibility of collapse.Our results show that the SC affects the stability of the headwall,and results provide great significances to guide the mitigation of Benggang erosion.Xiaoqian Duan Yusong Deng Yu Tao Yangbo He Lirong Lin Jiazhou Chen 2021International Soil and Water Conservation Research2021,9,3:4
3Optimal Operation of Integrated Heat and Electricity Systems:A Tightening McCormick Approach显示文摘Combined heat and electricity operation with variable mass flow rates promotes flexibility,economy,and sustainability through synergies between electric power systems(EPSs)and district heating systems(DHSs).Such combined operation presents a highly nonlinear and nonconvex optimization problem,mainly due to the bilinear terms in the heat flow model—that is,the product of the mass flow rate and the nodal temperature.Existing methods,such as nonlinear optimization,generalized Benders decomposition,and convex relaxation,still present challenges in achieving a satisfactory performance in terms of solution quality and computational efficiency.To resolve this problem,we herein first reformulate the district heating network model through an equivalent transformation and variable substitution.The reformulated model has only one set of nonconvex constraints with reduced bilinear terms,and the remaining constraints are linear.Such a reformulation not only ensures optimality,but also accelerates the solving process.To relax the remaining bilinear constraints,we then apply McCormick envelopes and obtain an objective lower bound of the reformulated model.To improve the quality of the McCormick relaxation,we employ a piecewise McCormick technique that partitions the domain of one of the variables of the bilinear terms into several disjoint regions in order to derive strengthened lower and upper bounds of the partitioned variables.We propose a heuristic tightening method to further constrict the strengthened bounds derived from the piecewise McCormick technique and recover a nearby feasible solution.Case studies show that,compared with the interior point method and the method implemented in a global bilinear solver,the proposed tightening McCormick method quickly solves the heat–electricity operation problem with an acceptable feasibility check and optimality.Lirong Deng Hongbin Sun Baoju Li Yong Sun Tianshu Yang Xuan Zhang 2021Engineering2021,7,8:3

5Effects of complement inhibition on the ABC phenomenon in rats显示文摘Researchers reported that intravenously injected PEGylated colloidal drug carriers lose their long-circulating characteristic and accumulated extensively in liver when they are administrated twice in the same animal with certain intervals. This phenomenon was referred to as the 'accelerated blood clearance(ABC) phenomenon'. Some former studies had found that complement-mediated phagocytosis, activated by antigen–antibody complex, was responsible for inducing the phenomenon. According to the theory, we have used cobra venom factor to deplete complement in vivo and to investigate the effect of complement inhibition on the ABC phenomenon. Rats were administered by injection of cobra venom factor solution to build up the model of complement exhaustion/inhibition, and the effect of the inhibition of complement on ABC phenomenon was carried out. It seemed that inhibition of complement didn’t affect the pharmacokinetic of the first infection. By contrast, in rats of which complement had been depleted, the second dose of PEGylated nanoemulsions showed enhanced circulation time compared with normal rats in a complement inhibition-independent manner, but the ABC phenomenon was not completely eliminated. 9Energy and Parameter Analysis of SOFC System for Hydrogen Production from Methane Steam Reforming显示文摘In this paper, an integrated system of solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC) and methane steam reforming for hydrogen production is proposed. The mathematical model of the coupled integrated system is studied by COMSOL and Aspen software, and the energy analysis of the integrated system is carried out. The system recovers and reuses the waste heat of the SOFC stack through the heat exchanger, which can realize the cascade efficient use of energy. By adjusting the different reforming temperatures, steam-to-carbon ratio and SOFC operating temperature of methane steam reforming to produce hydrogen, the parameters that have a greater impact on the system are studied. The research results show that as the steam-to-carbon ratio and reformer operating temperature increase, the net output power and efficiency of the system increase. When the fuel cell operating temperature is 800℃, the output power and efficiency of the system reach the maximum values of 899.93 W and 52.52%, respectively. Increasing the operating temperature of SOFC helps to improve the efficiency of fuel cells, but the efficiency of the integrated system of methane steam reforming hydrogen production and SOFC first increases and then decreases. 10Identification of Global DNA Methylation Signatures in Glioblastoma-Derived Cancer Stem Cells显示文摘Glioblastoma(GBM)is the most common and most aggressive primary brain tumor in adults.The existence of a small population of stem-like tumor cells that efficiently propagate tumors and resist cytotoxic therapy is one proposed mechanism leading to the resilient behavior of tumor cells and poor prognosis.In this study,we performed an in-depth analysis of the DNA methylation landscape in GBMderived cancer stem cells(GSCs).Parallel comparisons of primary tumors and GSC lines derived from these tumors with normal controls(a neural stem cell(NSC)line and normal brain tissue)identified groups of hyper- and hypomethylated genes that display a trend of either increasing or decreasing methylation levels in the order of controls,primary GBMs,and their counterpart GSC lines,respectively.Interestingly,concurrent promoter hypermethylation and gene body hypomethylation were observed in a subset of genes including MGMT,AJAP1 and PTPRN2.These unique DNA methylation signatures were also found in primary GBM-derived xenograft tumors indicating that they are not tissue culture-related epigenetic changes.Integration of GSC-specific epigenetic signatures with gene expression analysis further identified candidate tumor suppressor genes that are frequently down-regulated in GBMs such as SPINT2,NEFM and PENK.Forced re-expression of SPINT2 reduced glioma cell proliferative capacity,anchorage independent growth,cell motility,and tumor sphere formation in vitro.The results from this study demonstrate that GSCs possess unique epigenetic signatures that may play important roles in the pathogenesis of GBM.Eun-Joon Lee Prakash Rath Jimei Liu Dungsung Ryu Lirong Pei Satish K.Noonepalle Austin Y.Shull Qi Feng N.Scott Litofsky Douglas C.Miller Douglas C.Anthony Mark D.Kirk John Laterra Libin Deng Hong-Bo Xin Xinguo Wang Jeong-Hyeon Choi Huidong Shi 2015Journal of Genetics and Genomics2015,42,7:1
11The accelerated blood clearance phenomenon of PEGylated nanoemulsion upon cross administration with nanoemulsions modified with polyglycerin显示文摘For investigating the accelerated blood clearance(ABC) phenomenon of polyglycerin modified nanoemulsions upon cross administration with polyethylene glycol(PEG) covered nanoemulsion, we used the 1,2-distea-royl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-npolyglycerine-610 and the 1,2-distearoyl-n-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-n-[methoxy(polyethylene glycol)-2000] as modify materials, the dialkylcarbocyanines as fluorescence indicator. Exhausted macrophages rat model was established and new material containing polycarboxyl structure was synthesized. The microplate reader and the in vivo optical imaging system were applied to measure the concentration of nanoemulsions in tissues.The results show that the first dose of polyglycerin modified nanoemulsion can induce the ABC phenomenon of the second dose of PEGylated nanoemulsion. With the increase in the amount of the surface polyglycerin, the extent of the ABC phenomenon decreases. Liver accumulation has positive relationship with the ABC phenomenon. Furthermore, kupffer cells in liver can get more immune information from polyhydroxy structure than polycarboxyl group in the modify compound. 12Grouping bi-chi-squared method for pulsar navigation experiment using observations of Rossi X-ray timing explorer显示文摘X-ray pulsar-based navigation is a revolutionary technology which is capable of providing the required navigation information in the solar system. Performing as an important pulsar-based navigation technique, the Significance Enhancement of Pulse-profile with Orbit-dynamics(SEPO)can estimate orbital elements by using the distortion of pulse profile. Based on the SEPO technique,we propose a grouping bi-chi-squared technique and adopt the observations of Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer(RXTE) to carry out experimental verification. The pulsar timing is refined to determine spin parameters of the Crab pulsar(PSR B0531+21) during the observation periods, and a short-term dynamic model for RXTE satellite is established by considering the effects of diverse perturbations.Experimental results suggest that the position and velocity errors are 16.3 km(3σ) and 13.3 m/s(3σ) with two adjacent observations split by one day(exposure time of 1.5 ks), outperforming those of the POLAR experiment whose results are 19.2 km(3σ) and 432 m/s(3σ). 13VSe_(2)/V_(2)C heterocatalyst with built-in electric field for efficient lithium-sulfur batteries:Remedies polysulfide shuttle and conversion kinetics显示文摘Lithium sulfur(Li-S)battery is a kind of burgeoning energy storage system with high energy density.However,the electrolyte-soluble intermediate lithium polysulfides(Li PSs)undergo notorious shuttle effect,which seriously hinders the commercialization of Li-S batteries.Herein,a unique VSe_(2)/V_(2)C heterostructure with local built-in electric field was rationally engineered from V_(2)C parent via a facile thermal selenization process.It exquisitely synergizes the strong affinity of V_(2)C with the effective electrocatalytic activity of VSe_(2).More importantly,the local built-in electric field at the heterointerface can sufficiently promote the electron/ion transport ability and eventually boost the conversion kinetics of sulfur species.The Li-S battery equipped with VSe_(2)/V_(2)C-CNTs-PP separator achieved an outstanding initial specific capacity of 1439.1 m A h g^(-1)with a high capacity retention of 73%after 100 cycles at0.1 C.More impressively,a wonderful capacity of 571.6 mA h g^(-1)was effectively maintained after 600cycles at 2 C with a capacity decay rate of 0.07%.Even under a sulfur loading of 4.8 mg cm^(-2),areal capacity still can be up to 5.6 m A h cm^(-2).In-situ Raman tests explicitly illustrate the effectiveness of VSe_(2)/V_(2)C-CNTs modifier in restricting Li PSs shuttle.Combined with density functional theory calculations,the underlying mechanism of VSe_(2)/V_(2)C heterostructure for remedying Li PSs shuttling and conversion kinetics was deciphered.The strategy of constructing VSe_(2)/V_(2)C heterocatalyst in this work proposes a universal protocol to design metal selenide-based separator modifier for Li-S battery.Besides,it opens an efficient avenue for the separator engineering of Li-S batteries.Yanwei Lv Lina Bai Qi Jin Siyu Deng Xinzhi Ma Fengfeng Han Juan Wang Lirong Zhang Lili Wu Xitian Zhang 2024Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,89,2:0
14Delay-dependent robust stability of stochastic delay systems with Markovian switching显示文摘In recent years, the stability of hybrid stochastic delay systems, one of the important issues in the study of stochastic systems, has received considerable attention. However, the existing results do not deal with the structure of the diffusion but estimate its upper bound, which induces conservatism. This paper studies delay-dependent robust stability of hybrid stochastic delay systems. A delay-dependent criterion for robust exponential stability of hybrid stochastic delay systems is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which exploits the structure of the diffusion. 15N-acetyldopamine dimer inhibits neuroinflammation through the TLR4/NF-κB and NLRP3/Caspase-1 pathways显示文摘Neuroinflammation mediated by microglia is an important pathophysiological mechanism in neurodegenerative diseases.However,there is a lack of effective drugs to treat neuroinflammation.N-acetyldopamine dimer(NADD)is a natural compound from the traditional Chinese medicine Isaria cicada.In our previous study,we found that NADD can attenuate DSS-induced ulcerative colitis by suppressing the NF-κB and MAPK pathways.Does NADD inhibit neuroinflammation,and what is the target of NADD?To answer this question,lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated BV-2 microglia was used as a cell model to investigate the effect of NADD on neuroinflammation.Nitric oxide(NO)detection,reactive oxygen species(ROS)detection and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)results show that NADD attenuates inflammatory signals and proinflammatory cytokines in LPS-stimulated BV-2 microglia,including NO,ROS,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,interleukin(IL)-1βand interleukin-6(IL-6).Western blot analysis show that NADD inhibits the protein levels of Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4),nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),NOD-like receptor thermal protein domain associated protein 3(NLRP3),ASC and cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase(Caspase)-1,indicating that NADD may inhibit neuroinflammation through the TLR4/NF-κB and NLRP3/Caspase-1 signaling pathways.In addition,surface plasmon resonance assays and molecular docking demonstrate that NADD binds with TLR4 directly.Our study reveals a new role of NADD in inhibiting the TLR4/NF-κB and NLRP3/Caspase-1 pathways,and shows that TLR4-MD2 is the direct target of NADD,which may provide a potential therapeutic candidate for the treatment of neuroinflammation.Lijun Huang Leiqiang Gong Xueyan Huo Lirong Lei Qi Zhang Yunjie Hu Qixuan Kuang Yu Gui Yifei Dai Yucheng Gu Yun Deng Dong Wang Dale Guo 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,1:0
16Video Recognition for Analyzing the Characteristics of Vehicle–Bicycle Conflict显示文摘Vehicle–bicycle conflict incurs a higher risk of traffic accidents,particularly as it frequently takes place at intersections.Mastering the traffic characteristics of vehicle–bicycle conflict and optimizing the design of intersections can effectively reduce such conflict.In this paper,the conflict between right-turning motor vehicles and straight-riding bicycles was taken as the research object,and T-Analyst video recognition technology was used to obtain data on riding(driving)behavior and vehicle–bicycle conflict at seven intersections in Changsha,China.Herein,eight typical traffic characteristics of vehicle–bicycle conflict are summarized,the causes of vehicle–bicycle conflict are analyzed using 18 factors in three dimensions,the internal relationship between intersection design factors and traffic conflicts is explored,and the guiding of design optimization based on the width of bicycle lanes and the soft separation between vehicles and bicycles is discussed.The results showed that colored paved bicycle lanes were better,performing better at a width of 2.5 m compared to 1.5 m.However,the colored pavement was not suitable for the entire road and had to be set at the position,at which the trajectories of a bicycle and motor vehicle overlapped.Thus,a 2.5-m-wide bicycle lane provides good safety.However,there are still defects in the existing safety indicators,so it is necessary to develop new indicators to reflect real vehicle–bicycle conflict situations more comprehensively.Xingjian Xue Zixu Wang Linjuan Ge Lirong Deng Rui Song Neal Naixue Xiong 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,11:0
