1Degradation and biological properties of Ca-P contained micro-arc oxidation self-sealing coating on pure magnesium for bone fixation显示文摘Poor corrosion resistance is one of the main disadvantages for biodegradable magnesium-based metals,especially applied for bone fixation,where there is a high demand of bio-mechanical strength and stability.Surface coating has been proved as an effective method to control the in vivo degradation.In this study a Ca-P self-sealing micro-arc oxidation(MAO)coating was studied to verify its efficacy and biological properties by in vitro and in vivo tests.It was found that the MAO coating could effectively retard the degradation according to immersion and electrochemical tests as well as 3D reconstruction by X-ray tomography after implantation.The MAO coating exhibited no toxicity and could stimulate the new bone formation.Therefore,the Ca-P self-sealing MAO coating could be a potential candidate for application of biodegradable Mg-based implant in bone fixations.Weidan Wang Peng Wan Chen Liu Lili Tan Weirong Li Lugee Li Ke Yang 2015Regenerative Biomaterials2015,2,2:11
2Significance of Axial Length Monitoring in Children with Congenital Cataract and Update of Measurement Methods显示文摘Congenital cataract is the main cause of blindness in children, with significantly varying treatment effects. The development of axial length is an important factor that affects the prognosis of these children.However,when compared with the eyes of normal children,the mechanism of growth of the axial length is so complicated that the reported findings differ significantly in terms of the measuring apparatus,assessment methods,and statistical outcome,making the rule of axial length development still unclear. In this paper, we first review the process of axial length development in normal healthy children and compare different hypotheses about certain factors that could affect the development of axial length. The results of some current research about the characteristics of axial length development in congenital cataract children are then reviewed. 3System integration of China's first PEMFC locomotive显示文摘In the face of growing environmental pollution,developing a fuel-cell-driven shunting locomotive is a great challenge in China for environmental protection and energy saving,which combines the environmental advantages of an electric locomotive with the lower infrastructure costs of a diesel-electric locomotive.In this paper,the investigation status and the development trend of the fuel-cell-driven shunting locomotive were introduced.Through innovation of the power system using fuel cells,an experiment prototype of a fuel-cell shunting locomotive was developed,which would reduce the effects on the environment of the existing locomotives.This was the first locomotive to use a proton exchange membrane fuel-cell(PEMFC) power plant in China.From October 2012,we started to test the fuel-cell power plant and further test runs on the test rail-line in Chengdu,Sichuan.The achieved encouraging results can provide fundamental data for the modification of the current individual fuel cell locomotives or further development of the fuel-cell hybrid ones in China.WeiRong Chen Fei Peng Zhixiang Liu Qi Li Chaohua Dai 2013Journal of Modern Transportation2013,21,3:7
4Severe human infection with a novel avian-origin influenza A(H7N4) virus显示文摘Human infections with influenza H7 subtypes, such as H7N9, have raised concerns worldwide. Here, we report a human infection with a novel influenza A(H7N4) virus. A 68 years-old woman with cardiovascular and cholecystic comorbidities developed rapidly progressed pneumonia with influenza-like-illness as initial symptom, recovered after 23 days-hospitalization including 8 days in ICU. Laboratory indicators for liver and blood coagulation dysfunction were observed. Oseltamivir phosphate, glucocorticoids and antibiotics were jointly implemented, with nasal catheterization of oxygen inhalation for this patient.We obtained the medical records and collected serial respiratory and blood specimens from her. We collected throat, cloacal and/or feces samples of poultry and wild birds from the patient's backyard, neighborhood, local live poultry markets(LPMs) and the nearest lake. All close contacts of the patient were followed up and sampled with throat swabs and sera. Influenza viruses and other respiratory pathogens were tested by real-time RT-PCR, viral culturing and/or sequencing for human respiratory and bird samples. Micro-neutralizing assay was performed for sera. A novel reassortant wild bird-origin H7N4 virus is identified from the patient and her backyard poultry(chickens and ducks) by sequencing, which is distinct from previously-reported avian H7N4 and H7N9 viruses. At least four folds increase of neutralizing antibodies to H7N4 was detected in her convalescent sera. 5A modified highly precise direct integration method for a class of linear time-varying systems显示文摘It is always a bottleneck to design an effective algorithm for linear time-varying systems in engineering applications.For a class of systems,whose coefficients matrix is based on time-varying polynomial,a modified highly precise direct integration(VHPD-T method)was presented.Through introducing new variables and expanding dimensions,the system can be transformed into a timeinvariant system,in which the transfer matrix can be computed for once and used forever with a highly precise direct integration method.The method attains higher precision than the common methods(e.g.RK4 and power series)and high efficiency in computation.Some numerical examples demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the method proposed.LIU XiaoMei ZHOU Gang ZHU Shuai WANG YongHong SUN WeiRong WENG ShiLie 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,7:3
