1Effects of soil water and nitrogen availability on photosynthesis and water use efficiency of Robinia pseudoacacia seedlings显示文摘The efficient use of water and nitrogen (N) to promote growth and increase yield of fruit trees and crops is well studied.However,little is known about their effects on woody plants growing in arid and semiarid areas with limited water and N availability.To examine the effects of water and N supply on early growth and water use efficiency (WUE) of trees on dry soils,one-year-old seedlings of Robinia pseudoacacia were exposed to three soil water contents (non-limiting,medium drought,and severe drought) as well as to low and high N levels,for four months.Photosynthetic parameters,leaf instantaneous WUE (WUEi) and whole tree WUE (WUEb) were determined.Results showed that,independent of N levels,increasing soil water content enhanced the tree transpiration rate (Tr),stomatal conductance (Gs),intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci),maximum net assimilation rate (Amax),apparent quantum yield (AQY),the range of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) due to both reduced light compensation point and enhanced light saturation point,and dark respiration rate (Rd),resulting in a higher net photosynthetic rate (Pn) and a significantly increased whole tree biomass.Consequently,WUEi and WUEb were reduced at low N,whereas WUE i was enhanced at high N levels.Irrespective of soil water availability,N supply enhanced Pn in association with an increase of Gs and Ci and a decrease of the stomatal limitation value (Ls),while Tr remained unchanged.Biomass and WUEi increased under non-limiting water conditions and medium drought,as well as WUEb under all water conditions;but under severe drought,WUEi and biomass were not affected by N application.In conclusion,increasing soil water availability improves photosynthetic capacity and biomass accumulation under low and high N levels,but its effects on WUE vary with soil N levels.N supply increased Pn and WUE,but under severe drought,N supply did not enhance WUEi and biomass.Xiping Liu Yangyang Fan Junxia Long Ruifeng Wei Roger Kjelgren Chunmei Gong Jun Zhao 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,3:15

7Design and Optimization of Reverse Salient Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on Controllable Leakage Flux显示文摘In this paper,a controllable leakage flux reverse salient permanent magnet synchronous motor(CLF-RSPMSM)is designed,which has the advantages of wide speed range and low irreversible demagnetization risk.Firstly,the principle of controllable leakage flux and reverse saliency effect is introduced,and the design of the rotor flux barrier is emphatically discussed.Secondly,multiple design variables are stratified by the comprehensive sensitivity method,and the main variables are screened out.Then the relationship between the main variables and the optimization goal is discussed according to the response surface diagram.Thirdly,a sequential nonlinear programming algorithm(SNP)is used to optimize the three optimization objectives comprehensively.Finally,the electromagnetic performance of the proposed motor is compared with the initial IPM motor,the mechanical strength of the proposed rotor is analyzed,and the results verify the effectiveness of the design and optimization method of the proposed motor.Longxin Du Xiping Liu Jiesheng Fu Jianwei Liang Chaozhi Huang 2021CES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems2021,5,2:5
8Microstructure and growth kinetics of Ce and Y jointly modified silicide coatings for Nb-Ti-Si based ultrahigh temperature alloy显示文摘In order to protect Nb-Ti-Si based ultrahigh temperature alloy from oxidation, pack cementation processes were utilized to prepare Ce and Y jointly modified silicide coatings. The Ce and Y jointly modified silicide coating has a double-layer structure: a relatively thick (Nb, X)Si2 (X represents Ti, Cr and Hf elements) outer layer and a thin (Ti, Nb)5Si4 transitional layer. The pack cementation experiments at 1150 ℃ for 8 h proved that the addition of certain amounts of CeO2 and Y2O3 powders in the packs distinctly influenced the coating thickness, the contents of Si, Ce and Y in the (Nb, X)Si2 outer layers, and the density of cavities in the coatings. In order to study the effects of Ce and Y joint modification in the silicide coatings, both only Ce and only Y modified silicide coatings were also prepared for comparison. The mechanisms of the beneficial effects of Ce and Y are discussed. A pack mixture containing 1.5CeO2-0.75Y2O3 (wt%) powders was employed to investigate the growth kinetics of the Ce and Y jointly modified silicide coating at 1050, 1150 and 1250 ℃. It has been found that the growth kinetics obeyed parabolic laws and the parabolic rate constants were 109.20 mm2/h at 1050 ℃, 366.75 mm2/h at 1150 ℃ and 569.78 mm2/h at 1250 ℃, and the activation energy for the growth of the Ce and Y jointly modified silicide coating was 197.53 kJ/mol.Yingtian Liu Xiping Guo 2013Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2013,23,2:4

13Comparative study of CO_(2) hydrogenation to methanol on cubic bixbyite-type and rhombohedral corundum-type indium oxide显示文摘Hydrogenation of CO_(2) to value-added chemicals has attracted much attention all through the world.In2 O_(3) with cubic bixbyite-type(denoted as c-In2O_(3))is well known for its high CO_(2) hydrogenation activity and CH3 OH selectivity at high temperature.However,the other structure of In2O_(3) with rhombohedral corundum-type(denoted as rh-In2O_(3))rarely been investigated as catalyst.Herein,c-In2O_(3) and rh-In2O_(3) were prepared and comparatively studied for CO_(2) hydrogenation.The results indicated that c-In2O_(3) showed higher CO_(2) conversion activity than rh-In2O_(3) due to the impressive reducibility and reactivity.Whereas rh-In2O_(3) had higher CH3 OH selectivity due to weaker CH3 OH and stronger CO adsorption on rhIn2O_(3).Although c-In2O_(3) and rh-In2O_(3) catalysts showed different CO_(2) hydrogenation perfo rmance,in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy showed CO_(2) can be reduced to CO through redox cycling and hydrogenation to CH3 OH through formate path.Bin Yang Longtai Li Ziye Jia Xiping Liu Chunjie Zhang Limin Guo 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:3
14Design and Optimization of a Mechanical Variable-Leakage-Flux Interior Permanent Magnet Machine with Auxiliary Rotatable Magnetic Poles显示文摘A novel mechanical variable-leakage-flux interior permanent magnet machine(MVLF-IPMM)is proposed for electric vehicles(EVs)in this paper,which employs a mechanical flux-regulating device and auxiliary rotatable magnetic poles.The magnetic poles acting as the flux adjustors can be rotated by the additional device to vary the leakage flux in magnetic circuit and realize the adjustment of the PM flux linkage.Due to the flux-regulating effect,the flux distribution in this machine is complex and changeable.Therefore,the working principle is illustrated in detail.To obtain the perfect coordination between the dominant magnetic poles and auxiliary magnetic poles,a multi-objective optimization method is presented based on the parameter sensitivity analysis combining with the Coefficient of Prognosis(CoP).Then,some design parameters with strong sensitive are selected by the sensitivity analysis and the initial model of the proposed motor is optimized by utilizing the multi-objective genetic algorithm(MOGA).According to the result of the optimization,the machine performances of the initial and the optimal design under the different flux states are compared and analyzed to verify the validity of the new variable-flux motor and the optimization method.Tongze Sun Xiping Liu Yongling Zou Chaozhi Huang Jianwei Liang 2021CES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems2021,5,1:3

16A survey of HIV infection and related high-risk factors among men who have sex with men in Suzhou,Jiangsu,China显示文摘A cross-sectional study using the snowball sampling method was conducted in May 2008 to investigate human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection status and related high risk factors among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Suzhou city of Jiangsu province. The researchers carried out a face-to-face questionnaire interview among MSM, and collected their blood samples to test for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Among the 280 respondents, 91.1% had homosexual acts in the past 6 months and 87.5% had multiple homosexual partners; 46.4% had heterosexual sex in the past 6 months and 33.1% had multiple heterosexual partners. The rate of continued condom use was 44.3% in homosexual sex in the past 6 months, while the rate in heterosexual sex was 33.9%. Laboratory test results showed that the prevalences of HIV and syphilis were 7.1% (20/280) and 15.0% (42/280), respectively, but no HCV-positive person was found. In the multivariate logistic regression model, subjects with a monthly income of more than RMB $ 1,000 (OR=4.83,95% CI=1.44-16.22), subjects who often went to bars for sexual partners (OR=2.25, 95%CI=1.21-4.20), and subjects who had more than one sexual partner in the past 6 months (OR=0.49, 95%CI=0.25-0.97) and had sex with fixed sexual partners in the past 6 months (OR=0.42, 95%CI=0.25-0.75) were significantly associated with the rate of continued condom use in homosexual sex in the past 6 months. Unprotected sex and multiple sexual partners were more common among MSM in Suzhou city; furthermore, the prevalences of HIV infection and syphilis were relatively high. 17Constrained layer damping treatment of a model support sting显示文摘In transonic wind tunnel tests,the pulsating airflow is prone to induce the first order resonance of the sting support system.The resonance limits the wind tunnel test envelope,makes the test data inaccurate,and brings potential security risks.In this paper,a model support sting with constrained layer damping(CLD)treatment is proposed to reduce the first order resonance response.The CLD treatment mainly consists of material selection and geometric optimization processes.The damping performance of the optimized CLD sting is compared with an AISI 1045 steel sting with the identical diameter in laboratory.The frequency response curves of the CLD sting support system and the AISI 1045 steel sting support system are obtained by sine sweep tests.The test results show that the first order resonance response of the CLD sting support system is 37.3%of that of the AISI 1045 steel sting support system.The first order damping ratios are calculated from the frequency response curves by half power point method.It is found that the first order damping ratio of the CLD sting support system is approximately 2.6 times that of the AISI 1045 steel sting support system.Jiahao PAN Zhanqiang LIU Xiping KOU Qinghua SONG 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,8:2
18Multiple Positive Solutions of Nonlocal Boundary Value Problems for p-Laplacian Equations with Fractional Derivative显示文摘In this paper,we study the multiple positive solutions of integral boundary value problems for a class of p-Laplacian differential equations involving the Caputo fractional derivative.Using a fixed point theorem due to Avery and Peterson,we obtain the existence of at least three positive decreasing solutions of the nonlocal boundary value problems. 19Increasing rainfed wheat yield by optimizing agronomic practices to consume more subsoil water in the Loess Plateau显示文摘Erratic rainfall and misalignment between the rainy season and the growing season of winter wheat greatly limit rainfed winter wheat yield in the Loess Plateau of China. To increase the grain yield of winter wheat in this region, the effects of different agronomic practices, including adjusting planting pattern(NR, narrow row spacing), increasing seeding rate(high seeding rate, HS), decreasing basal nitrogen rate and increasing top-dressed nitrogen rate(DBN), and replacing an old cultivar with a new cultivar(NC) on wheat yield were investigated for two consecutive years. The results showed that the current grain yield of rainfed winter wheat in the Loess Plateau could be increased to 5879–7093 kg ha^(-1) by HS, DBN and NC practices relative to the practice of high-yielding farmers(PF). The increased yield due to HS, DBN and NC was attributed to the higher number of spikes ha^(-1), 1000-grain weight, and kernels spike^(-1). Before the flowering stage, HS increased soil water consumption(SWC) in 1–3 m subsoil due to the higher plant population compared with that of PF, whereas DBN decreased SWC in the 0–2 m soil layer compared with that of PF. After the flowering stage, HS, DBN, and NC increased SWC by 8–16 mm in 2–3 m subsoil compared to PF. The water use efficiency(WUE) was increased under DBN and NC in comparison with PF.However, the WUE did not increase under HS as it had the highest evapotranspiration among the five treatments.
