The TanSat mission: preliminary global observations显示文摘The Chinese global carbon dioxide monitoring satellite (Tan Sat) was launched successfully in December2016 and has completed its on-orbit tests and calibration. Tan Sat aims to measure the atmospheric column-averaged dry air mole fractions of carbon dioxide (XCO_2) with a precision of 4 ppm at the regional scale, and in addition, to derive global and regional CO2fluxes. Progress towards these objectives is reviewed and the first scientific results from Tan Sat measurements are presented. Tan Sat on-orbit tests indicate that the Atmospheric Carbon dioxide Grating Spectrometer is in normal working status and is beginning to produce L1B products. The preliminary Tan Sat XCO_2products have been retrieved by an algorithm and compared to NASA Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) measurements during an overlapping observation period. Furthermore, the XCO_2retrievals have been validated against eight groundsite measurement datasets from the Total Carbon Column Observing Network, for which the preliminary conclusion is that Tan Sat has met the precision design requirement, with an average bias of 2.11 ppm.The first scientific observations are presented, namely, the seasonal distributions of XCO_2over land on a global scale.Yi Liu Jing Wang Lu Yao Xi Chen Zhaonan Cai Dongxu Yang Zengshan Yin Songyan Gu Longfei Tian Naimeng Lu Daren Lyu 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,18:23
Cooperation of PprI and DrRRA in response to extreme ionizing radiation in Deinococcus radiodurans显示文摘Deinococcus radiodurans possesses extreme resistance to ionizing radiation, and has been engineered for the remediation of toxic components in radioactive environments. We have previously shown that PprI(also named IrrE)and DrRRA are essential for the DNA protection and repair pathways that respond to ionizing radiation stress in this species. Here,we investigated the combined roles of PprI and DrRRA in resistance to gamma radiation(800 Gy).The double mutant,△drRRA△pprI,was more sensitive to gamma rays than either△drRRA or△pprI single mutants, and exhibited an elevated level of intracellular protein carbonylation,an extended delay in genome reconstitution and reduced transcriptional levels of certain DNA protection and repair proteins, such as kat, sod, recA and pprA.Interestingly, the induction of DrRRA by ionizing radiation was partially inhibited by the deletion of pprI. Taken together, these results suggest that DrRRA and PprI might have collaborative roles in the response of D.radiodurans to extreme ionizing radiation.WANG LiangYan YIN LongFei XU GuangZhi LI MingFeng ZHANG Hui TIAN Bin HUA YueJin 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,1:6
TanSat Mission Achievements: from Scientific Driving to Preliminary Observations显示文摘The Chinese global carbon dioxide monitoring satellite(TanSat)was successfully launched in December 2016 and has completed its on-orbit tests and calibration.TanSat aims to measure the atmospheric Carbon Dioxide column-averaged dry air mole fractions(X_(CO_2))with a precision of 4 ppm at the regional scale, and further to derive the CO_2 global and regional fluxes.Progress toward these objectives is reviewed and the first scientific results from TanSat measurements are presented.During the design phase,Observation System Simulation Experiments(OSSE)on TanSat measurements performed prior to launch measurements using a nadir and a glint alternative mode when considering the balance of stable measurements and reduces the flux uncertainty(64%).The constellation measurements of two satellites indicate an extra 10%improvement in flux inversion if the satellite measurements have no bias and similar precision. The TanSat on-orbit test indicates that the instrument is stable and beginning to produce X_(CO_2)products.The preliminary TanSat measurements have been validated with Total Carbon Column Observing Network(TCCON)measurements and have inter-compared with OCO-2 measurements in an overlap measurement.LIU Yi WANG Jing YAO Lu CHEN Xi CAI Zhaonan YANG Dongxu YIN Zengshan GU Songyan TIAN Longfei LU Naimeng L Daren 2018空间科学学报2018,38,5:2
Multi-Component and Multi-Point Trace Gas Sensing in Wavelength Modulation Spectroscopy Based on Wavelength Stabilization显示文摘Multi-component and multi-point trace gas sensing in the wavelength modulation spectroscopy is demonstrated based on the frequency-division multiplexing and time-division multiplexing technology.A reference photodetector is connected in series with a reference gas cell with the constant concentration to measure the second-harmonics peak of the components for wavelength stabilization in real time. The central wavelengths of the distributed feedback lasers are locked to the target gas absorption centers by the reference second-harmonics signal using a digital proportional-integral-derivative controller. The distributed feedback lasers with different wavelengths and modulation frequencies are injected into the gas cell to achieve multi-components gas measurement by the frequency-division multiplexing technology. In addition,multi-point trace gas sensing is achieved by the time-division multiplexing technology using a photoswitch and a relay unit.We use this scheme to detect methane(CH4)at 1650.9 nm and water vapor(H2O)at 1368.597 nm as a proof of principle with the gas cell path length of 10 cm.The minimum detection limits achieved for H2O and CH4 are 1.13 ppm and 11.85 ppm respectively, with three-point gas cell measurement;thus 10.5-fold and 10.1-fold improvements are achieved in comparison with the traditional wavelength modulation spectroscopy.Meanwhile, their excellent R-square values reach 0.9983 and 0.99564 for the concentration ranges of 500 ppm to 2000 ppm and 800 ppm to 2700 ppm, respectively.Zongliang WANG Jun CHANG Huishan YU Cunwei TIAN Hao ZHANG Xiukun ZHANG Longfei TANG Qinduan ZHANG Yiwen FENG 2019Photonic Sensors2019,9,4:2
Characterization of Mediterranean Magnetotactic Bacteria显示文摘Magnetotactic bacteria are a diverse group of motile prokaryotes that are ubiquitous in aquatic habitats and cosmopolitan in distribution. In this study, we collected magnetotactic bacteria from the Mediterranean Sea. A remarkable diversity of morphotypes was observed, including multicellular types that seemed to differ from those previously found in North and South America. Another interesting organism was one with magnetosomes arranged in a six-stranded bundle which occupied one third of the cell width. The magnetosome bundle was evident even under optic microscopy. These cells were connected together and swam as a linear entire unit. Magnetosomes did not always align up to form a straight linear chain. A chain composed of rectangle magnetosomes bent at a posi- tion with an oval crystal. High resolution transmission electron microscopy analysis of the crystal at the pivotal position suggested uncompleted formation of the crystal. This is the first report of Mediterranean magnetotactic bacteria, which should be useful for studies of biogeochemical cycling and geohistory of the Mediterranean Sea.Lefevre Christopher Bemadac Alain Pradel Nathalie WU Longfei Yu-Zhang Kui XIAO Tian Yonnet Jean-Paul Lebouc Afef SONG Tao Fukumori Yoshihiro 2007Journal of Ocean University of China2007,6,4:1

Processes of runoff in seasonally-frozen ground about a forested catchment of semiarid mountains显示文摘Climate warming increases the variability in runoff of semiarid mountains where seasonally-frozen ground is widely distributed. However, what is not well understood are the processes of runoff, hydrological drivers, and freeze-thaw cycles in seasonally-frozen ground in semiarid mountains. To understand how freeze-thaw cycles affect runoff processes in seasonally-frozen ground,we monitored hydrological processes in a typical headwater catchment with seasonally-frozen ground in Qilian Mountain,China, from 2002 to 2017.We analyzed the responses of runoff to temperature, precipitation, and seasonally-frozen ground to quantify process characteristics and driving factors. The results show that annual runoff was 88.5 mm accounting for 25.6%of rainfall, mainly concentrated in May to October, with baseflow of 36.44 mm.Peak runoff occurred in June,August, and September,i.e.,accounting for spring and summer floods.Runoff during the spring flood was produced by a mix of rainfall, melting snow, and melting seasonally-frozen ground, and had a significant correlation with air temperature.Runoff was mainly due to precipitation accumulation during the summer flood.Air temperature, average soil temperature at 0−50 cm depth, and frozen soil depth variable explained 59.60%of the variation of runoff in the thawing period, while precipitation variable explained 21.9%.Thawing-period runoff and soil temperature had a>0.6 correlation coefficient(P<0.05).In the rainfall-period,runoff was also affected by temperature, soil moisture, and precipitation, which explained 33.6%,34.1%and 18.1%,respectively.Our results show that increasing temperature and precipitation will have an irreversible impact on the hydrological regime in mountainous basins where seasonally-frozen ground is widely distributed.PengFei Lin ZhiBin He Jun Du LongFei Chen Xi Zhu QuanYan Tian 2020Research in Cold and Arid Regions2020,12,5:1
Environmental selection and evolutionary process jointly shape genomic and functional profiles of mangrove rhizosphere microbiomes显示文摘Mangrove reforestation with introduced species has been an important strategy to restore mangrove ecosystem functioning. However, how such activities affect microbially driven methane(CH4),nitrogen(N),and sulfur(S)cycling of rhizosphere microbiomes remains unclear. To understand the effect of environmental selection and the evolutionary process on microbially driven biogeochemical cycles in native and introduced mangrove rhizospheres,we analyzed key genomic and functional profiles of rhizosphere microbiomes from native and introduced mangrove species by metagenome sequencing technologies.Compared with the native mangrove(Kandelia obovata,KO),the introduced mangrove(Sonneratia apetala,SA)rhizosphere microbiome had significantly(p<0.05)higher average genome size(AGS)(5.8 vs.5.5 Mb),average 16S ribosomal RNA gene copy number(3.5 vs.3.1),relative abundances of mobile genetic elements, and functional diversity in terms of the Shannon index(7.88 vs.7.84)but lower functional potentials involved in CH4 cycling(e.g.,mcrABCDG and pmoABC),N2 fixation(nifHDK),and inorganic S cycling(dsrAB,dsrC,dsrMKJOP,soxB,sqr, and fccAB).Similar results were also observed from the recovered Proteobacterial metagenome-assembled genomes with a higher AGS and distinct functions in the introduced mangrove rhizosphere.Additionally, salinity and ammonium were identified as the main environmental drivers of functional profiles of mangrove rhizosphere microbiomes through deterministic processes. This study advances our understanding of microbially mediated biogeochemical cycling of CH_(4),N,and S in the mangrove rhizosphere and provides novel insights into the influence of environmental selection and evolutionary processes on ecosystem functions, which has important implications for future mangrove reforestation.Xiaoli Yu Qichao Tu Jihua Liu Yisheng Peng Cheng Wang Fanshu Xiao Yingli Lian Xueqin Yang Ruiwen Hu Huang Yu Lu Qian Daoming Wu Ziying He Longfei Shu Qiang He Yun Tian Faming Wang Shanquan Wang Bo Wu Zhijian Huang Jianguo He Qingyun Yan Zhili He 2023mLife2023,2,3:0
Single-cell profiling reveals Müller glia coordinate retinal intercellular communication during light/dark adaptation via thyroid hormone signaling显示文摘Light adaptation enables the vertebrate visual system to operate over a wide range of ambient illumination.Regulation of phototransduction in photoreceptors is considered a major mechanism underlying light adaptation. However, various types of neurons and glial cells exist in the retina, and whether and how all retinal cells interact to adapt to light/dark conditions at the cellular and molecular levels requires systematic investigation. Therefore,we utilized single-cell RNA sequencing to dissect retinal cell-type-specific transcriptomes during light/dark adaptation in mice. The results demonstrated that,in addition to photoreceptors, other retinal cell types also showed dynamic molecular changes and specifically enriched signaling pathways under light/dark adaptation.Importantly,Müller glial cells(MGs)were identified as hub cells for intercellular interactions, displaying complex cell‒cell communication with other retinal cells.Furthermore, light increased the transcription of the deiodinase Dio2 in MGs,which converted thyroxine(T4)to active triiodothyronine(T3).Subsequently,light increased T3 levels and regulated mitochondrial respiration in retinal cells in response to light conditions. As cones specifically express the thyroid hormone receptor Thrb, they responded to the increase in T3 by adjusting light responsiveness.Loss of the expression of Dio2 specifically in MGs decreased the light responsive ability of cones. These results suggest that retinal cells display global transcriptional changes under light/dark adaptation and that MGs coordinate intercellular communication during light/dark adaptation via thyroid hormone signaling.Min Wei Yanping Sun Shouzhen Li Yunuo Chen Longfei Li Minghao Fang Ronghua Shi Dali Tong Jutao Chen Yuqian Ma Kun Qu Mei Zhang Tian Xue 2023Protein & Cell2023,14,8:0
