2Investigation on Multiple Cylindrical Holes Casing Treatment for Transonic Axial Compressor Stability Enhancement显示文摘Casing treatment is one possible way of regaining axial compressor operating range. However, most of casing treatments extend the operating range with the cost of efficiency penalty. A new form of multiple cylindrical holes casing treatment(MHCT) with pre-swirl blowing for the NASA Rotor-37 has been designed based on profound understanding of the stall inception. Unsteady numerical simulations have been performed for Rotor-37 with and without MHCT. Parametric studies of the total extraction holes area and their axial locations show that the compressor performance deteriorates as the area ratio increases but the stall margin is extended and there is an optimum extraction holes axial location for stall margin extending. The better configuration of MHCT could extend the stall margin by 6.2% with only 0.23% peak efficiency reduction. Detailed analysis of the physical mechanism behind the stall margin improvement shows that the casing treatment could eliminate the passage blockage by suppressing breakup of tip leakage vortex and decrease the blade load in tip region, which both contribute to improve stall margin of transonic axial compressors.YANG Chengwu ZHAO Shengfeng LU Xingen HAN Ge ZHU Junqiang 2014Journal of Thermal Science2014,23,4:6
3Incidence and prevalence of moyamoya disease in urban China: a nationwide retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background and objective Moyamoya disease(MMD)is an increasingly recognised cause of stroke,mainly described in East Asia.China is the largest nation in Asia,but few studies reported the epidemiology of MMD,especially at a national level.We aimed to estimate the incidence and prevalence of MMD in China.Methods We performed a population-based study using data from the national databases of Urban Basic Medical Insurance between 2013 and 2016,covering approximately 0.50 billion individuals.MMD cases were identified by diagnostic code(International Classification of Diseases,10th Revision I67.5)or related diagnostic text.Results A total of 1987 MMD patients(mean age 44.45±14.30 years,female-to male ratio 1.12)were identified,representing a national crude incidence of 0.59(95%CI:0.49 to 0.68)and a prevalence of 1.01(95%CI:0.81 to 1.21)per 100000 person-years in 2016.Rates were higher in females than in males for the incidence(0.66 vs 0.52)and prevalence(1.05 vs 0.90).And the age-specific rates showed a bimodal distribution,with the highest peak in middle-aged group and the second peak in child group.Conclusions Our results confirm that MMD is relatively common in East Asians,but the rates in China were lower than those in other East Asian countries such as Japan and Korea.The unique epidemiological features,including a relatively weak female predominance and a shift in the highest peak of incidence from children to adults,revealed new sight into MMD.Further research is expected to explore the potential pathogenesis of MMD.Yixin Sun Guoyu Zhou Jingnan Feng Lu Chen Guozhen Liu Jinxi Wang Qingliang Wang Junyou Yu Xiwang Yang Zheng Yang Pei Gao Shengfeng Wang Siyan Zhan 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4:4

5Safety,tolerability,and pharmacokinetics of BAT8001 in patients with HER2-positive breast cancer:An open-label,dose-escalation,phase I study显示文摘Background:The introductions of anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(HER2)agents have significantly improved the treatment outcome of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer.BAT8001 is a novel antibodydrug conjugate targeting human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(HER2)-expressing cells composed of a trastuzumab biosimilar linked to the drug-linker Batansine.This dose-escalation,phase I study was designed to assess the safety,tolerability,pharmacokinetics,and preliminary anti-tumor activity of BAT8001 in patients with HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.Methods:This trial was conducted in subjects with histologically confirmed HER2-positive breast cancer(having evaluable lesions and an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status of 0 or 1)using a 3+3 design of escalating BAT8001 doses.Patients received BAT8001 intravenously in a 21-day cycle,with dose escalation in 5 cohorts:1.2,2.4,3.6,4.8,and 6.0 mg/kg.The primary objective was to evaluate the safety and tolerability of BAT8001.Preliminary activity of BAT8001 was also assessed as a secondary objective.Results:Between March 2017 to May 2018,29 HER2-positive breast cancer patients were enrolled.The observed dose-limiting toxicities were grade 4 thrombocytopenia and grade 3 elevated transaminase.The maximum tolerated dose was determined to be 3.6 mg/kg.Grade 3 or greater adverse events(AEs)occurred in 14(48.3%)of 29 patients,including thrombocytopenia in 12(41.4%)patients,aspartate aminotransferase increased in 4(13.8%)patients,γ-glutamyl transferase increased in 2(6.9%)patients,alanine aminotransferase increased in 2(6.9%)patients,diarrhea in 2(6.9%)patients.Objective response was observed in 12(41.4%,95%confidence interval[CI]=23.5%-61.1%)and disease control(including patients achieving objective response and stable disease)was observed in 24(82.8%,95%CI=64.2%-94.2%)patients.Conclusions:BAT8001 demonstrated favorable safety profiles,with promising anti-tumor activity in patients with HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.BAT8001 has the potential to provide a new therapeutic option in patients with metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer.Ruoxi Hong Wen Xia Liye Wang Kaping Lee Qianyi Lu Kuikui Jiang Shengfeng Li Jinquan Yu Jin Wei Weijia Tang Danyang Zhou Xin An Jiajia Huang Cong Xue Xiwen Bi Yanxia Shi Zhongyu Yuan Fei Xu Shusen Wang 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,2:2

7Effects of surface roughness on the aerodynamic performance of a high subsonic compressor airfoil at low Reynolds number显示文摘The aerodynamic performance of compressor airfoil is significantly affected by the surface roughness at low Reynolds number(Re).In the present study,numerical simulations have been conducted to investigate the impact of surface roughness on the profile loss of a high subsonic compressor airfoil at Re=1.5×10^(5).Four roughness locations,covering 10%,30%,50%and 100%of the suction surface from the leading edge and seven roughness magnitudes(Ra)ranging from 52 to525 lm were selected.Results showed that the surface roughness mainly determined the loss generation process by influencing the structure of the Laminar Separation Bubble(LSB)and the turbulence level near the wall.For all the roughness locations,the variation trend for the profile loss with the roughness magnitude was similar.In the transitionally rough region,the negative displacement effect of the LSB was suppressed with the increase of roughness magnitude,leading to a maximum decrease of 14.6%,16.04%,16.45%and 10.20%in the profile loss at Ra=157 lm for the four roughness locations,respectively.However,with a further increase of the roughness magnitude in the fully rough region,the stronger turbulent dissipation enhanced the growth rate of the turbulent boundary layer and increased the profile loss instead.By comparison,the leading edge roughness played a dominant role in the boundary layer development and performance variation.To take fully advantage of the surface roughness reducing profile loss at low Re,the effects of roughness on suppressing LSB and inducing strong turbulent dissipation should be balanced effectively.Mingyang WANG Chengwu YANG Ziliang LI Shengfeng ZHAO Yanfeng ZHANG Xin’gen LU 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,3:2
8Effect of Non-Axisymmetric End Wall on a Highly Loaded Compressor Cascade in Multi-Conditions显示文摘As an effective method to influence end wall flow field,non-axisymmetric profiled end wall can improve the aerodynamic performance of compressor cascades.For a highly loaded low pressure compressor cascade,called V103,the study found the optimal non-axisymmetric profiled end wall decreases total pressure loss coefficient by 4.57%,5.48%and 3.04%under incidences of–3°,0°,and 3°,respectively,compared with those of the planar end wall.The optimal non-axisymmetric profiled end wall changes the structure of secondary flow in hub region,generating a corner vortex near suction surface,inhibiting the development of the passage vortex towards suction surface and reducing flow separation.When the inlet Mach numbers are 0.62 and 0.72,the total pressure loss coefficient decreases by 3.19%and 4.58%for optimal non-axisymmetric profiled end wall compared with those of the planar end wall.Though optimal non-axisymmetric profiled end wall increases total pressure loss near hub region in blade passage under different inlet Mach numbers,the peak value and region of high loss coefficient above 10%span in blade passage significantly decrease.In addition,different incidences affect the secondary flow streamlines and vortex structure near the cascade hub region,however,different inlet Mach numbers hardly change the secondary flow streamlines and vortex structure.In short,the optimal non-axisymmetric profiled end wall shows better aerodynamic performance than the planar end wall for the highly loaded compressor cascade in multi-conditions.HUANG Song YANG Chengwu LI Ziliang HAN Ge ZHAO Shengfeng LU Xin’gen 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,4:2

10Numerical Investigation of Centerline Curvature Effects on a Compact S-shaped Intake显示文摘Taking into account stealth, structure and maintenance, ultra-compact S-shaped intake has been widely used in modern vehicles. In this paper a series of steady numerical simulation were carried out to investigate the complex flow mechanism in s-shaped intake, particular attention was given to examining the effect of centerline curvature on the performance and flowfield of an ultra-compact S-shaped intake. In order to validate the multi-block model, the computational results for Royal Aircraft Establishment intake 2129-M2129 which had modest centerline curvature distribution were corrected with available experimental test data. The numerical simulation results agreed fairly well with the experimental data, and the computational method was then used to investigate the effects of different centerline curvature distributions on performance and flow field in compact S-shaped intake. Detailed analyses of the flow visualization had exposed the different flow topologies between the cases with different centerline curvature. 11Numerical investigation of flow mechanisms of tandem impeller inside a centrifugal compressor显示文摘This study numerically investigated a single stage centrifugal compressor 'Radiver' with a wedge diffuser and several tandem-designed impellers to explore the flow phenomena within the tandem impeller and the potential to enhance compressor performance.The results demonstrate that tandem design and clocking fraction(ks)significantly affects the compressor performance.The compressor stage with tandem impellers of Series A of boundary layer growth interruption alone are observed to have a widely operating range but efficiency and total pressure ratio penalty compared with that of conventional impeller.The tandem impeller with at least the same impeller efficiency as the conventional design is considered as a critical design criteria so that further modification process based on the flow characteristic of tandem impeller is necessary.In order to restrain the inducer wake and exducer shock losses,parameters modification of blade angle and thickness distributions are necessary and the modified tandem impeller of Series B is obtained.The modified tandem impeller with 25%clocking arrangement shows an 8.45%stall margin increase and maintains the total pressure ratio and efficiency as the conventional design,which proves the potential of tandem impeller to improve compressor stage performance.It is noteworthy that the tandem impellers of Radiver have not shown obviously balanced exit flow field and the fundamental mechanism of stall margin extending of tandem impeller lies on the improved impeller/diffuser matching performance resulting from the incidence angle variation at diffuser inlet.Ziliang LI Xin’gen LU Shengfeng ZHAO Ge HAN Chengwu YANG Yanfeng ZHANG 2019Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2019,32,12:1
12An Experimental Study of Separation Control on Ultra-Highly-Loaded Low Pressure Turbine Blade by Surface Roughness显示文摘An experimental study is conducted to improve an aft-loaded ultra-high-lift low pressure turbine(LPT) blade at low Reynolds number(Re) in steady state. The objective is to investigate the effect of blade roughness on the performance of LPT blade. The roughness is used as a passive flow control method which is to reduce total pressure loss and expand LPT operating margin. The experiment is performed on a low-speed cascade facility. 3 roughness heights and 3 deposit positions are investigated in the experiment which forms a large test matrix. A three-hole probe is used to detect flow aerodynamic performance and a hotwire probe is used to detect the characteristic of suction boundary layer. Regional roughness can suppress separation loss and bring fairly low turbulent dissipation loss. 13Vortex dynamics and entropy generation in separated transitional flow over a compressor blade at various incidence angles显示文摘The transition process within a Laminar Separation Bubble(LSB)that formed on a compressor blade surface was investigated using Large Eddy Simulations(LESs)at a Reynolds number of 1.5×10;and incidence angles of 0°,+3°,and+5°.The vortex dynamics in the separated shear layers were compared at various incidence angles and its effects on the loss generation were clarified through entropy analysis.Results showed that transition onset,which was accurately identified by the Linear Stability Theory(LST),was significantly promoted at the increased incidence angle.As such,the development of LSB was suppressed and the relative role of viscous instability played in the transition process was weakened.At the incidence angle of 0°,two-dimensional spanwise vortices detached from the blade surface and roiled up periodically,which were further stretched and eventually evolved into large-scale hairpin vortices.As time passed,the fully developed hairpin vortices broke down into small-scale eddies.Meanwhile,the flow near the wall reversely ejected into the outer separated shear layers and a sweeping process happened subsequently,forcing the separated shear layers to reattach and accelerating the generation of turbulent fluctuations.By comparison,the strength of vortex rolling-up was weakened at higher incidence angles,and the vortex pairing and breakdown of large-scale vortices were less pronounced.Therefore,the level of turbulent fluctuations that generated in the separated shear layers was reduced.Detailed entropy analysis showed that the turbulent dissipation effect related to the Reynolds shear stresses determined the largest amount of positive entropy generation,which declined to a lower level as the incidence angle increased from 0°to+5°.Correspondingly,the profile loss was reduced by 50.4%.Mingyang WANG Ziliang LI Ge HAN Chengwu YANG Shengfeng ZHAO Yanfeng ZHANG Xin’gen LU 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,3:1
14Exploring the intention of Using Aspirated Cascade to Replace Tandem Cascades显示文摘In the present paper,computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations were executed to exploring the intent of using aspirated cascade to replace tandem cascades.Firstly,the ONERA tandem cascades were investigated,and the performance of the cascades at the design point were listed,such as diffusion factor,total pressure loss coefficient,deviation angle etc.For replacing the ONERA tandem cascades,a new cascade was designed with the codes BLADEGEN developed by the authors.The quasi 3-D calculations were carried out using the collection of programs for cascade analysis and design,MISES.The cascade was analyzed and designed by using this code.And the cascade was simulated and analyzed by commercial CFD software.It is found there is an obvious separation on the suction side.Based on the 3D CFD simulation results of the cascade without aspiration,an aspirated cascade was designed by introducing a slot on the suction side.The performance of the aspirated cascade was investigated and compared with the tandem cascades,indicated that under the same inlet condition,the total pressure loss of the single row aspirated cascade was less than that of the tandem cascades,and the outlet static pressure is higher than that of the tandem cascades.Meanwhile,the different suction slot location,suction width and suction mass flow are studied for the aspirated cascade.Shengfeng Zhao Jianfeng Luo Xingen Lu Junqiang Zhu 2010Journal of Thermal Science2010,19,5:0
15Inducer/Exducer Matching Characteristics inside Tandem Impellers of a Highly Loaded Centrifugal Compressor显示文摘A centrifugal compressor usually operates with low isentropic efficiency and a terrible stable operating range, resulting from the complex impeller flow structure companied with the intense interaction among the impeller and the diffuser downstream. In many studies, the potential of centrifugal compressor tandem-impeller configurations for improving the compressor has been demonstrated. Whereas, compared with the convincing results on the tandem-designed axial compressors, the results on tandem impellers are limited and contradictory. Very little insight has been provided into the flow mechanisms inside tandem impellers, which is considered to be the primary reason for the confusion in tandem impeller design and application. Tandem impellers are expected to exhibit a totally different behavior due to the intense aerodynamic interaction between the inducer and the exducer, which substantially contributes to the flow structure and the compressor performance change. In the present study, a numerical study of a highly-loaded centrifugal compressor with various tandem designs was conducted to explore the inducer/exducer matching characteristics and the underlying flow mechanism inside tandem impellers. Two tandem impeller design parameters, namely, the inducer/exducer clocking fraction and the axial gap(overlap), were considered in the tandem impeller design process. The tandem impeller was also compared to the existing conventional impeller which the tandem impeller was redesigned for. The results demonstrated that the tandem-designed impeller can improve the centrifugal compressor stage performance and intense inducer/exducer interaction can be observed with changes in the clocking fraction and the axial gap(overlap). The tandem impeller performance is sensitive to changes in axial gap(overlap) when the suction side of the exducer blade is circumferentially close to the inducer blade. The fundamental reason for the performance variation in the inducer and the exducer lies in the inducer pressure change in the blade trailing edge that is determined by the Kutta condition.
