1Regional eco-efficiency evaluation and spatial pattern analysis of the Yangtze River Economic Zone显示文摘The environmental ecology of the Yangtze River Economic Zone(YREZ)faces ecological function decline,deterioration and degradation under intense human activities,long-term development and utilization and its economy has developed rapidly over recent decades.Eco-efficiency is considered as a measure of coordinated development of economy,resources,environment and ecology,and is currently considered a very important issue.In this paper,based on the slack-based measure and data envelope analysis model,we take 129 prefecture-level cities of the YREZ as the study unit and measure the eco-efficiency of the YREZ in 2000,2005,2010 and 2015,which considers undesired output.The evaluation of the status quo of the regional eco-efficiency development was carried out at provincial,prefectural and city scales.The spatial autocorrelation test model and standard deviation ellipse were used to analyze the spatially distributed characteristics and the evolutionary regularity of eco-efficiency.Our study suggested that the eco-efficiency value varied significantly at different spatiotemporal scales and the overall distribution presented an'N-shaped'pattern,the value is the largest downstream and the smallest upstream.Regional eco-efficiency presented certain volatility in growth and a clear spatial positive agglomeration trend from 2000 to 2015.The spatial distribution of each agglomeration area was also significantly different,forming some high-high agglomeration areas at the center of the shaft with Shanghai and surrounding cities,and some low-low agglomeration areas at the center with middle reaches and upstream cities.The low-high over-aggregation and high-low polarization clusters were fewer.At the same time,with the change of the research period,the degree of positive agglomeration became increasingly pronounced and the eco-efficiency gap of the neighborhoodunit reduced.The regional eco-efficiency value of the YREZ presented a spatial distribution pattern in the northeast-southwest axis and the evolutionary pattern of the regional eco-efficiency similarly showed a northeast-southwest orientation.HA Lin TU Jianjun YANG Jianping XU Chunhai PANG Jiaxing LU Debin YAO Zuolin ZHAO Wenyu 2020Journal of Geographical Sciences2020,30,7:8
2n-Hexadecane and pyrene biodegradation and metabolization by Rhodococcus sp. T1 isolated from oil contaminated soil显示文摘The high-molecular weight polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) pyrene and typical long chain alkane nhexadecane are both difficult to degrade. In this study, n-hexadecane and pyrene degrading strain Rhodococcus sp. T1 was isolated from oil contaminated soil. Strain T1 could remove 90.81% n-hexadecane(2 vol%) and 42.79% pyrene(200 mg·L^(-1)) as a single carbon within 5 days, respectively. Comparatively, the degradation of pyrene increased to 60.63%, but the degradation of n-hexadecane decreased to 87.55% when these compounds were mixed. Additionally, identification and analysis of degradation metabolites of Rhodococcus sp. T1 in the above experiments showed that there were significant changes in alanine, methylamine, citric acid and heptadecanoic acid between sole and dual substrate degradation. The optimal conditions for degradation were then determined based on analysis of the pH, salinity, additional nutrient sources and liquid surface activity.Under the optimal conditions of pH 7.0, 35 °C, 0.5% NaCl, 5 mg·L^(-1) of yeast extract and 90 mg·L^(-1) of surfactant,the degradation increased in single or dual carbon sources. To our knowledge, this is the first study to discuss metabolite changes in Rhodococcus sp. 3Numerical simulation of characteristics of semidiurnal tidal waves in sea region around Taiwan显示文摘POM97, an oceanic model, has been used for the first time to the numerical study on the tidal waves of the as Regions around Taiwan. In this paper, we have got the result that the semidiurnal tidal waves of these area mainly are the co-operating tides which come from the south of 23’N of the western Pacific. Those semidiurnal tidal waves affecting the Taiwan Straits come respectively from the south and the north entrance of the channel, and the north tidal wave is stronger than the south one. The strongest tidal field is the area from the Meizhou Bay to the Xinhua Bay along the coast of Fujian Province, where the biggest amplitude of the M2 partial tide can reach 240 cm. The strongest tidal cur- rent fields lie in the Penghu watercourse, where the maximum velocity of the M2 partial tide can arrive at 196 m/s. In the horizontal structure of the tidal currets, we have found that there is a stream dot in the north of the channel, besides, there still exist four new ones. 4Densification,microstructure and mechanical properties of multicomponent(TiZrHfNbTaMo)C ceramic prepared by pressureless sintering显示文摘A multicomponent(TiZrHfNbTaMo)C ceramic has been fabricated by pressureless sintering at temperatures from 2100℃to 2500℃,using an equimolar multicomponent carbide powder synthesized by carbothermal reduction as the starting material.Influence of sintering temperature on densification,microstructure and mechanical properties of the ceramics was investigated.The relative density increases with increasing sintering temperature,and a nearly fully dense sample is achieved by pressureless sintering at 2500℃.Average grain size increases from 3.7 to 15.2μm with increasing sintering temperature from 2300 to 2500℃.The(TiZrHfNbTaMo)C ceramic sintered at 2400℃exhibits a single phase fcc structure with homogeneous chemical composition,an average grain size of 7.0μm and a relative density of96.5%,while its measured hardness is 33.2 GPa at 100 mN and 23.2 GPa at 9.8 N.Wen Zhang Lei Chen Chenguang Xu Wenyu Lu Yujin Wang Jiahu Ouyang Yu Zhou 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,13:4
5Characterization and analysis of petrochemical wastewater through particle size distribution, biodegradability, and chemical composition显示文摘The centralized treatment method is a widely used form of wastewater treatment that tends to be less effective at removing toxic substances. Therefore, a detailed analysis of the composition of wastewater can provide important information for the design of an effective wastewater treatment process. The objective of this paper was to investigate particle size distribution(PSD), biodegradability, and the chemical composition of the petrochemical wastewater discharges. For this purpose, this project selected the petrochemical wastewater and treated wastewater of China National Offshore Oil Corporation Zhongjie Petrochemical Co, Ltd. as the analysis objects.The step-by-step filtration method, along with a molecular weight classification method, was selected to build the chemical oxygen demand(COD) and biochemical oxygen demand(BOD) fingerprints of petrochemical wastewater and treated wastewater. The results showed that the main pollutants were settleable particles in petrochemical wastewater, which contributed to over 54.85% of the total COD. The colloidal particles with particle sizes in the range of 450–1000 nm had the highest COD value in the treated wastewater, which contributed34.17% of the total COD of treated wastewater. The results of the BOD analysis showed that the soluble fractions were the main reason that treated wastewaters did not meet the treatment standards. Tests on the organic compounds in petrochemical wastewater found that there were mainly linear paraffins, branched paraffins, benzene series compounds, and some plasticizers in the influent of the petrochemical wastewater. The most abundant pollutants in treated petrochemical wastewater were the adjacent diisobutyl phthalate and the linear alkanes.Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) transmission spectroscopy analysis showed that the settleable particles of petrochemical wastewater and membrane bioreactor(MBR)-treated wastewater contained multiple types of organic substances. 6The Combinatorial Biosynthesis of"Unnatural" Products with Polyketides显示文摘Polyketides have been widely used clinically due to their significant biological activities, but the needed structural and functional diversity cannot be achieved by common chemical synthetic methods. The tool of combinatorial biosynthesis provides the possibility to produce 'unnatural' natural drugs, which has achieved initial success. This paper provides an overview for the strategies of combinatorial biosynthesis in producing the structural and functional diversity of polyketides, including the redesign of metabolic flow, polyketide synthase(PKS) engineering, and PKS post-translational modification. Although encouraging progress has been made in the last decade, challenges still exist regarding the rational combinatorial biosynthesis of polyketides. 7Isolation of Secondary Metabolites with Antimicrobial Activities from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens LWYZ003显示文摘The strain LWYZ003, which can restrain multiple pathogens, was screened from the sediment of the ocean and identified as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Large-scale fermentation and modern chromatographic separation technologies(macroporous resin column chromatography, silica gel column chromatography, thin-layer chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography) were used to separate antimicrobial products from the fermentation broth of marine-derived Bacillus amyloliquefaciens LWYZ003. Bioactive-guided separation was used in the term of seeking antimicrobial products from the secondary metabolites of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens LWYZ003. As a result, two natural products cycloheximide( 1) and trehalose( 2) were obtained. Their structures were elucidated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, high-resolution mass spectrometry, ~1 H and ^(13) C nuclear magnetic resonance analysis. In the cylinder plate method, compound 1 exhibited stronger antimicrobial activities than compound 2 against Micrococcus luteus, and also exhibited wider antimicrobial spectrum than compound 2. 9An experimental and modeling study of n-hexadecane autoignition under low-to-intermediate temperatures显示文摘N-hexadecane is a potential candidate of diesel surrogate fuels and is also the largest linear alkane(n-alkanes)with known chemical kinetic models.The objective of this study is to investigate the autoignition characteristics of n-hexadecane in the lowto-intermediate temperature region and to validate the existing kinetic models.In this study,the ignition delay times(IDTs)of nhexadecane were measured using a heated rapid compression machine(RCM)at two pressures of 7 and 10 bar,and over equivalence ratios ranging from 0.5 to 1.3.Two-stage ignition characteristic and the negative temperature coefficient(NTC)behavior of total ignition delay time were experimentally captured.This study paid special attention to the influence of pressure,equivalence ratio,and oxygen content on the IDTs of n-hexadecane.It is observed that both the total IDTs and the first-stage IDTs decrease with the rise of those parameters.It is worth noting that the first-stage IDT is found to show a greater dependence on temperature but a weaker dependence on other parameters compared to the total IDT.The observed IDT dependence in the lowtemperature region(LTR)were quantitatively described by ignition delay time correlations.The newly measured IDTs were then validated against two kinetic models(LLNL and CRECK).Simulation results show that both models underpredict the first-stage IDT but generally capture the temperature dependence.The CRECK model well predicts the total IDTs of n-hexadecane while the LLNL model significantly underpredicts the total IDTs at most investigated conditions.To the best of our knowledge,this study is the first investigation on n-hexadecane autoignition under low-to-intermediate temperatures,which deepens the understanding of large n-alkane oxidation and contributes to the improvement of the existing kinetic models.YU Liang WANG WenYu WANG SiXu FENG Yuan QIAN Yong LU XingCai 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,5:2

12Arginine methylation of ribose-5-phosphate isomerase A senses glucose to promote human colorectal cancer cell survival显示文摘Cancer cells remodel their metabolic network to adapt to variable nutrient availability. Pentose phosphate pathway(PPP) plays protective and biosynthetic roles by oxidizing glucose to generate reducing power and ribose. How cancer cells modulate PPP activity in response to glucose supply remains unclear. Here we show that ribose-5-phosphate isomerase A(RPIA), an enzyme in PPP, directly interacts with co-activator associated arginine methyltransferase 1(CARM1) and is methylated at arginine 42(R42). R42 methylation up-regulates the catalytic activity of RPIA. Furthermore, glucose deprivation strengthens the binding of CARM1 with RPIA to induce R42 hypermethylation. Insufficient glucose supply links to RPIA hypermethylation at R42, which increases oxidative PPP flux. RPIA methylation supports ROS clearance by enhancing NADPH production and fuels nucleic acid synthesis by increasing ribose supply. Importantly, RPIA methylation at R42 significantly potentiates colorectal cancer cell survival under glucose starvation. 14How can the Dual-atom Catalyst FeCo-NC Surpass Singleatom Catalysts Fe-NC/Co-NC in CO_(2) RR?-CO Intermediate Assisted Promotion via a Synergistic Effect显示文摘Atomically dispersed catalysts are widely adopted in CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)due to maximal atomic utilization and high catalytic activity.Dual-atom catalysts(DACs),with more dispersed active sites and distinct electronic structures compared with single-atom catalysts(SACs),may exhibit diverse catalytic performance.Herein,the DAC FeCo-NC and SAC Fe-NC/Co-NC are employed as probes to explore DACs advantage in CO_(2)RR.Results show that the moderate interaction between the dual-atom center and N coordination balances structural stability and catalytic activity.CO is the only product on Fe-NC/Co-NC,and the high limiting potentials from−1.22 to−1.67 V inhibit further reduction.FeCo-NC assisted with CO intermediate exhibits low limiting potentials of−0.64 V for both CH_(3)OH and CH 4,comparable to those on Cu-based catalysts.Under circumstance of applied potentials,CO_(2)RR on FeCo-NC has greater advantages in yielding CH_(3)OH and CH 4 than that on Fe-NC/Co-NC,and hydrogen evolution reaction is severely inhibited.The intrinsic essence is that dual-atom center can provide large spin-polarization and multi-electron transfer capability,rendering CO intermediates as effective electronic and geometric modifiers in CO_(2)RR.This work highlights FeCo-NC as a high-performance CO_(2)RR catalyst toward deep-reduction C1 products and elucidates CO intermediate assisted promotion mechanism via a dual-atom synergistic effect.Shoufu Cao Sainan Zhou Hongyu Chen Shuxian Wei Siyuan Liu Xiaojing Lin Xiaodong Chen Zhaojie Wang Wenyue Guo Xiaoqing Lu 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,1:1

16Palmitoylation of MDH2 by ZDHHC18 activates mitochondrial respiration and accelerates ovarian cancer growth显示文摘Epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC) exhibits strong dependency on the tricarboxylic acid(TCA) cycle and oxidative phosphorylation to fuel anabolic process.Here,we show that malate dehydrogenase 2(MDH2),a key enzyme of the TCA cycle,is palmitoylated at cysteine 138(C138) residue,resulting in increased activity of MDH2.We next identify that ZDHHC18 acts as a palmitoyltransferase of MDH2.Glutamine deprivation enhances MDH2 palmitoylation by increasing the binding between ZDHHC18 and MDH2.MDH2 silencing represses mitochondrial respiration as well as ovarian cancer cell proliferation both in vitro and in vivo.Intriguingly,re-expression of wild-type MDH2,but not its palmitoylation-deficient C138 S mutant,sustains mitochondrial respiration and restores the growth as well as clonogenic capability of ovarian cancer cells.Notably,MDH2 palmitoylation level is elevated in clinical cancer samples from patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer.These observations suggest that MDH2 palmitoylation catalyzed by ZDHHC18 sustains mitochondrial respiration and promotes the malignancy of ovarian cancer,yielding possibilities of targeting ZDHHC18-mediated MDH2 palmitoylation in the treatment of EOC.Xuan Pei Kai-Yue Li Yuan Shen Jin-Tao Li Ming-Zhu Lei Cai-Yun Fang Hao-Jie Lu Hui-Juan Yang Wenyu Wen Miao Yin Jia Qu Qun-Ying Lei 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,10:1
17Variability of Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation in FGOALS-g2显示文摘The variability of Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation(AMOC) in the pre-industrial control experiment of the Flexible Global Ocean–Atmosphere–Land System model, Grid-point Version 2(FGOALS-g2) was investigated using the model outputs with the most stable state in a 512-yr time window from the total 1500-yr period of the experiment. The period of AMOC in FGOALS-g2 is double peaked at 20 and 32 years according to the power spectrum, and 22 years according to an auto-correlation analysis, which shows very obvious decadal variability. Like many other coupled climate models, the decadal variability of AMOC in FGOALS-g2 is closely related to the convection that occurs in the Labrador Sea region. Deep convection in the Labrador Sea in FGOALS-g2 leads the AMOC maximum by 3–4 years. The contributions of thermal and haline effects to the variability of the convection in three different regions [the Labrador, Irminger and Greenland–Iceland– Norwegian(GIN) Seas] were analyzed for FGOALS-g2. The variability of convection in the Labrador and Irminger Seas is thermally dominant, while that in the colder GIN Seas can be mainly attributed to salinity changes due to the lower thermal expansion. 18Computational fluid dynamics simulation of a novel bioreactor forsophorolipid production显示文摘This paper describes three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations of gas–liquid flow in a novel laboratory-scale bioreactor contained dual ventilation-pipe and double sieve-plate bioreactor(DVDSB)used for sophorolipid(SL) production. To evaluate the role of hydrodynamics in reactor design, the comparisons between conventional fed-batch fermenter and DVDSB on the hydrodynamic behavior are predicted by the CFD methods. Important hydrodynamic parameters of the gas–liquid two-phase system such as the liquid phase velocity field, turbulent kinetic energy and volume-averaged overall and time-averaged local gas holdups were simulated and analyzed in detail. The numerical results were also validated by experimental measurements of overall gas holdups. 19High-energy,high-repetition-rate ultraviolet pulses from an efficiency-enhanced,frequency-tripled laser显示文摘In this study,a high-energy,temporally shaped picosecond ultraviolet(UV)laser running at 100 Hz is demonstrated,with its pulses boosted to 120 mJ by cascaded regenerative and double-pass amplifiers,resulting in a gain of more than 10^(8).With precise manipulation and optimization,the amplified laser pulses were flat-top in the temporal and spatial domains to maintain high filling factors,which significantly improved the conversion efficiency of the subsequent third harmonic generation(THG).Finally,91 mJ,470 ps pulses were obtained at 355 nm,corresponding to a conversion efficiency as high as 76%,which,as far as we are aware of,is the highest THG efficiency for a high-repetition-rate picosecond laser.In addition,the energy stability of the UV laser is better than 1.07%(root mean square),which makes this laser an attractive source for a variety of fields including laser conditioning and micro-fabrication.Xinlin Lu Yujie Peng Wenyu Wang Yuanan Zhao Xiangyu Zhu Yuxin Leng 2021High Power Laser Science and Engineering2021,9,3:1
