| 1 | Identification of Iron Oxides Qualitatively/Quantitatively Formed during the High Temperature Oxidation of Superalloys in Air and Steam Environments显示文摘Mssbauer spectroscopy has been used to study the morphology of iron oxides formed during the oxidation of superalloys, such as SS-304L(1.4306S),Incoloy-800H,Incoloy-825,UBHA-25L,Sanicro-28 and Inconel-690,at 1200℃ exposed in air and steam environments for 400 h.The basic aim was to identify and compare the iron oxides qualitatively and quantitatively, formed during the oxidation of these alloys in two environments. The behaviour of alloy UBHA-25L in high temperature oxidation in both environments indicates that it has good oxidation resistance especially in steam, whereas Sanicro-28 has excellent corrosion resistance in steam environment. In air oxidation of Inconel-690 no iron oxide, with established Mssbauer parameters, was detected. | M. | 9 | Quasi-inverse Pendulum Model of 12 DoF Bipedal Walking显示文摘This paper presents modeling of a 12-degree of freedom(Do F) bipedal robot, focusing on the lower limbs of the system, and trajectory design for walking on straight path. Gait trajectories are designed by modeling of center of mass(Co M) trajectory and swing foot ankle trajectory based on stance foot ankle. The dynamic equations of motion of the bipedal robot are derived by considering the system as a quasi inverted pendulum(QIP) model. The direction and acceleration of Co M movement of the QIP model is determined by the position of Co M relative to the centre of pressure(Co P). To determine heel-contact and toe-off, two custom designed switches are attached with heel and toe positions of each foot. Four force sensitive resistor(FSR) sensors are also placed at the plantar surface to measure pressure that is induced on each foot while walking which leads to the calculation of Co P trajectory. The paper also describes forward kinematic(FK) and inverse kinematic(IK) investigations of the biped model where Denavit-Hartenberg(D-H) representation and Geometric-Trigonometric(G-T) formulation approach are applied. Experiments are carried out to ensure the reliability of the proposed model where the links of the bipedal system follow the best possible trajectories while walking on straight path. | M. | 10 | Magnetohydrodynamic approach of non-Newtonian blood flow with magnetic particles in stenosed artery显示文摘The non-Newtonian blood flow, together with magnetic particles in a stenosed artery, is studied using a magneto-hydrodynamic approach. The wall slip condition is also considered. Approximate solutions are obtained in series forms under the assumption that the Womersley frequency parameter has small values. Using an integral transform method, analytical solutions for any values of the Womersley parameter are obtained.Numerical simulations are performed using MATHCAD to study the influence of stenosis and magnetic field on the flow parameters. When entering the stenosed area, blood velocity increases slightly, but increases considerably and reaches its maximum value in the stenosis throat. It is concluded that the magnitude of axial velocity varies considerably when the applied magnetic field is strong. The magnitude of maximum fluid velocity is high in the case of weak magnetic fields. This is due to the Lorentz's force that opposes motion of an electrically conducting fluid. The effect of externally transverse magnetic field is to decelerate the flow of blood. The shear stress consistently decreases in the presence of a magnetic field with increasing intensity. | I. A.
