1Latest Progress of the Chinese Meteorological Satellite Program and Core Data Processing Technologies显示文摘In this paper,the latest progress,major achievements and future plans of Chinese meteorological satellites and the core data processing techniques are discussed.First,the latest three FengYun(FY)meteorological satellites(FY-2H,FY-3D,and FY-4A)and their primary objectives are introduced Second,the core image navigation techniques and accuracies of the FY meteorological satellites are elaborated,including the latest geostationary(FY-2/4)and polar-orbit(FY-3)satellites.Third,the radiometric calibration techniques and accuracies of reflective solar bands,thermal infrared bands,and passive microwave bands for FY meteorological satellites are discussed.It also illustrates the latest progress of real-time calibration with the onboard calibration system and validation with different methods,including the vicarious China radiance calibration site calibration,pseudo invariant calibration site calibration,deep convective clouds calibration,and lunar calibration.Fourth,recent progress of meteorological satellite data assimilation applications and quantitative science produce are summarized at length.The main progress is in meteorological satellite data assimilation by using microwave and hyper-spectral infrared sensors in global and regional numerical weather prediction models.Lastly,the latest progress in radiative transfer,absorption and scattering calculations for satellite remote sensing is summarized,and some important research using a new radiative transfer model are illustrated.Peng ZHANG Qifeng LU Xiuqing HU Songyan GU Lei YANG Min MIN Lin CHEN Na XU Ling Sun Wenguang BAI Gang MA Di XIAN 2019Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2019,36,9:26
2Mild hypothermia combined with neural stem cell transplantation for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy: neuroprotective effects of combined therapy显示文摘Neural stem cell transplantation is a useful treatment for ischemic stroke, but apoptosis often occurs in the hypoxic-ischemic environment of the brain after cell transplantation. In this study, we determined if mild hypothermia(27–28°C) can increase the survival rate of neural stem cells(1.0 × 105 /μL) transplanted into neonatal mice with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Long-term effects on neurological functioning of the mice were also examined. After mild hypothermia combined with neural stem cell transplantation, we observed decreased expression levels of inflammatory factor nuclear factor-kappa B and apoptotic factor caspase-3, reduced cerebral infarct volumes, increased survival rate of transplanted cells, and marked improvements in neurological function. Thus, the neuroprotective effects of mild hypothermia combined with neural stem cell transplantation are superior to those of monotherapy. 3Model predictions for behaviors of sand-nonplastic-fines mixtures using equivalent-skeleton void-ratio state index显示文摘It is a challenge to suggest a constitutive model for describing the stress-strain behavior of sand-fines mixtures due to that these granular mixtures exhibited very complex behaviors at different densities, pressures and fines contents. In this study, an elastoplastic constitutive model within the framework of the bounding surface plasticity and critical state theories was proposed for sand-nonplastic-fines mixtures by using the concept of the equivalent-skeleton void ratio and equivalent-skeleton void-ratio state index. 5A method for weighing broiler chickens using improved amplitude-limiting filtering algorithm and BP neural networks显示文摘Broiler chickens are traditionally weighed by steelyard or platform scale,which is timeconsuming and labor-intensive.Broiler chickens usually exhibit stress-related behavior during weighing.The 3D camera-based weighing system for broiler chickens can only weigh the broiler chicken in the monitoring area.Usually,it makes poor weight prediction due to poor segmentation especially when the broiler chicken is flapping its wings.To solve these issues,we developed one simple and low-cost weighing system with high stability and accuracy.A validity value extraction method from dynamic weighing was proposed.Then,an improved amplitude-limiting filtering algorithm and a BP neural networks model were developed to avoid accidental interference.The BP neural networks model used daily weight gain,day-age,average velocity,and the weight data after filtering algorithm as the input layer.The weighing system was tested in a commercial Beijing Fatty Chickens house with Beijing Fatty Chickens.We tested thirteen groups of Beijing Fatty Chickens of different weights,from 500 g to 1800 g in intervals of 100 g,using the three different methods:no filtering algorithm or BP neural networks,only the improved amplitude-limiting filtering algorithm and a hybrid of the improved amplitude-limiting filtering algorithm and BP neural networks.The results showed that the hybrid algorithm had a better performance in minimizing the error,lowering from the original 6%down to 3%.The accurate weight data was transmitted to the remote service platform for further decision-making,such as activity analysis,feeding management,and health alerts.Weihong Ma Qifeng Li Jiawei Li Luyu Ding Qinyang Yu 2021Information Processing in Agriculture2021,8,2:5
6Serum semaphorin 4C as a diagnostic biomarker in breast cancer:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:To date,there is no approved blood-based biomarker for breast cancer detection.Herein,we aimed to assess semaphorin 4C(SEMA4C),a pivotal protein involved in breast cancer progression,as a serum diagnostic biomarker.Methods:We included 6,213 consecutive inpatients from Tongji Hospital,Qilu Hospital,and Hubei Cancer Hospital.Training cohort and two validation cohorts were introduced for diagnostic exploration and validation.A pan-cancer cohort was used to independently explore the diagnostic potential of SEMA4C among solid tumors.Breast cancer patients who underwent mass excision prior to modified radical mastectomy were also analyzed.We hypothesized that increased pretreatment serum SEMA4C levels,measured using optimized in-house enzymelinked immunosorbent assay kits,could detect breast cancer.The endpoints were diagnostic performance,including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity.Post-surgery pathological diagnosis was the reference standard and breast cancer staging followed the TNM classification.There was no restriction on disease stage for eligibilities.Results:We included 2667 inpatients with breast lesions,2378 patients with other solid tumors,and 1168 healthy participants.Specifically,118 patients with breast cancer were diagnosed with stage 0(5.71%),620 with stage I(30.00%),966 with stage II(46.73%),217 with stage III(10.50%),and 8 with stage IV(0.39%).Patients with breast cancer had significantly higher serum SEMA4C levels than benign breast tumor patients and normal controls(P<0.001).Elevated serum SEMA4C levels had AUC of 0.920(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.900–0.941)and 0.932(95%CI:0.911–0.953)for breast cancer detection in the two validation cohorts.The AUCs for detecting early-stage breast cancer(n=366)and ductal carcinoma in situ(n=85)were 0.931(95%CI:0.916–0.946)and 0.879(95%CI:0.832–0.925),respectively.Serum SEMA4C levels significantly decreased after surgery,and the reduction was more striking after modified radical mastectomy,compared with mass excision(P<0.001).The positive rate of enhanced serum SEMA4C levels was 84.77%for breast cancer and below 20.75%for the other 14 solid tumors.Conclusions:Serum SEMA4C demonstrated promising potential as a candidate biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis.However,validation in prospective settings and by other study groups is warranted.Ya Wang Long Qiao Jie Yang Xiong Li Yaqi Duan Jiahao Liu Shaoqi Chen Huayi Li Dan Liu Tian Fang Jingjing Ma Xiaoting Li Fei Ye Junxiang Wan Juncheng Wei Qin Xu Ensong Guo Ping Jin Mingfu Wu Lin Zhang Yun Xia Yaqun Wu Jun Shao Yaojun Feng Qing Zhang Zongyuan Yang Gang Chen Qinghua Zhang Xingrui Li Shixuan Wang Junbo Hu Xiaoyun Wang Mona P.Tan Kazuaki Takabe Beihua Kong Qifeng Yang Ding Ma Qinglei Gao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,12:3
7Numerical investigation on effects of side curtain opening behavior on indoor climate of naturally ventilated dairy buildings显示文摘The side-curtain is popular in cattle buildings to regulate indoor climates and ventilation rates by adjusting the opening ratio.It normally had three different adjusting strategies relate to the position of rollers,i.e.central roller(S1),top roller(S2)and bottom roller(S3),which result in different opening behaviors to generate the same opening ratio but different opening positions in the side wall for a full-curtain house.Numerical simulations were conducted using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)to investigate the effects of the eight potential opening behaviors of side curtains on the indoor climates and airflow rates in winter for a typical naturally ventilated dairy house in China when the opening ratio were 8.5%and 17%.Airflow patterns,wind chilled temperature(WCT)and age of air were analyzed in the animal occupied zone(AOZ)by taking reference planes.Openings at the very bottom of side walls had more efficient ventilation due to the younger air age,more effective air disturbing,more uniformly distributed indicators in AOZ.However,it will result in a lower WCT in AOZ although a lower ventilation rate was observed in this case.Openings on the very top of side wall would generate a better thermal comfort in AOZ but with very poor air quality and nonuniformly distributed airflows in the dairy house.S1 was not recommended to the practical application due to the poor indoor climate and the higher cost of the mechanical structure.Based on the comprehensive evaluations of the analytic hierarchy process,the most satisfaction opening positions were at the bottom of the side curtains and the optimized adjusting strategy is S2.Qifeng Li Chuanxia Yao Luyu Ding Ligen Yu Weihong Ma Ronghua Gao Wengang Zheng 2020International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,5:2
8A raw milk service platform using BP Neural Network and Fuzzy Inference显示文摘An important index for raw milk storage in a dairy farm is the raw milk storage temperature which directly reflects the raw milk quality.Meanwhile,it’s hard to centrally manage numerous dairy farms which are not distributed in the same place.We aim to build a kind of raw milk monitoring and warning equipment,gateway and cloud service platform to solve these problems.The raw milk monitoring and warning equipment and service platform were designed to monitor the raw milk temperature in the refrigerated storage tank and provide a warning alarm if an exception occurred.Data-driven modeling was used for acquiring,cleaning,and utilizing data to solve the raw milk storage problems.The raw milk monitoring and warning management systemprovided away of predicting and warning for raw milk storage using BP Neural Network and Fuzzy Inference.The test showed that the BP Neural Network and Fuzzy Inference model built in this paper had a good performance in predicting the raw milk storage temperature and reflecting the variation of raw milk temperature in raw milk storage process.The platform and models provided a method to manage the raw milk in dairies and prevent the raw milk from deteriorating caused by the rising temperature.Weihong Ma Jinwei Fan Qifeng Li Yuhang Tang 2018Information Processing in Agriculture2018,5,3:1

Azoospermia, which is defined as the absence of sperm in at least two ejaculates, can be divided into two types: obstructive azoospermia (OA) and non-OA (NOA)[1]. OA patients have normal spermatogenesis and mature sperm in testes and can father a biological child through testicular sperm retrieval and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)[2]. 11Estimating the air exchange rates in naturally ventilated cattle houses using Bayesian-optimized GBDT显示文摘It is challenging to estimate the air exchange rate(AER)dynamically in naturally ventilated livestock buildings such as dairy houses due to the influence of complex and variable outdoor environmental factors,large opening ratios,and the confusion of inflow and outflow at openings.This makes it difficult to efficiently regulate the opening ratio to meet the ventilation requirements in naturally ventilated livestock buildings.In this study,the air exchange rates of naturally ventilated cattle houses(NVCHs)in different seasons and opening ratios were obtained through field measurements and computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations.A fast and efficient machine learning framework was proposed and examined to predict AER based on the gradient boosting decision tree(GBDT)combined with Bayesian optimization.Compared with commonly used machine learning models such as multilayer perceptrons(MLPs)and support vector machines(SVMs),the proposed GBDT model has higher prediction accuracy and can avoid falling easily into local optima.Compared with the existing mechanical model based on the Bernoulli equation,the proposed GBDT model showed a slightly higher prediction than the mechanistic model and was much easier to use in AER estimation when inputting easily collected environmental factors in practical applications.Using Bayesian optimization could dramatically reduce the computing time when determining the optimal hyperparameter for establishing the GBDT model,dramatically saving on computing resources.Based on the Bayesian optimized GBDT model,the desirable opening ratio of the side curtain can be determined for automatically regulating the AER of cattle houses in future applications.Luyu Ding Lei E Yang Lyu Chunxia Yao Qifeng Li Shiwei Huang Weihong Ma Ligen Yu Ronghua Gao 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,1:0
12Fidgetin interacting with microtubule end binding protein EB3 affects axonal regrowth in spinal cord injury显示文摘Fidgetin,a microtubule-severing enzyme,regulates neurite outgrowth,axonal regeneration,and cell migration by trimming off the labile domain of microtubule polymers.Because maintenance of the microtubule labile domain is essential for axon initiation,elongation,and navigation,it is of interest to determine whether augmenting the microtubule labile domain via depletion of fidgetin serves as a therapeutic approach to promote axonal regrowth in spinal cord injury.In this study,we constructed rat models of spinal cord injury and sciatic nerve injury.Compared with spinal cord injury,we found that expression level of tyrosinated microtubules in the labile portion of microtubules continuously increased,whereas fidgetin decreased after peripheral nerve injury.Depletion of fidgetin enhanced axon regeneration after spinal cord injury,whereas expression level of end binding protein 3(EB3)markedly increased.Next,we performed RNA interference to knockdown EB3 or fidgetin.We found that deletion of EB3 did not change fidgetin expression.Conversely,deletion of fidgetin markedly increased expression of tyrosinated microtubules and EB3.Deletion of fidgetin increased the amount of EB3 at the end of neurites and thereby increased the level of tyrosinated microtubules.Finally,we deleted EB3 and overexpressed fidgetin.We found that fidgetin trimmed tyrosinated tubulins by interacting with EB3.When fidgetin was deleted,the labile portion of microtubules was elongated,and as a result the length of axons and number of axon branches were increased.These findings suggest that fidgetin can be used as a novel therapeutic target to promote axonal regeneration after spinal cord injury.Furthermore,they reveal an innovative mechanism by which fidgetin preferentially severs labile microtubules.Chao Ma Junpei Wang Qifeng Tu Weijuan Bo Zunlu Hu Run Zhuo Ronghua Wu Zhangji Dong Liang Qiang Yan Liu Mei Liu 2023Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,12:0
13Identification, characterization, and expression profiles of the GASA genes in cotton显示文摘Background:GASA(Giberellic Acid Stimulated in Arabidopsis)gene family plays a crucial role in the phytohormone signaling pathway,growth and development,and stress responses in plants.Many GASA homologs have been identified in various plants.Nevertheless,little is known about these proteins in cotton.Results:In the current study,we identified 19,17,25,33,and 38 GASA genes via genome-wide analyses of Gossypium herbaceum,G.arboreum,G.raimondii,G.barbadense,and G.hirsutum,respectively,and performed comprehensive bioinformatics and expression analyses.According to our results,132 GASA proteins shared similar protein structures and were classified into four groups based on the phylogenetic tree.A synteny analysis suggested that segmental duplication was a key driver in the expansion of the GASA gene family.Meanwhile,the cis-element and protein interaction analyses indicated that GhGASA proteins play a significant role in the hormone responses.Transcriptomic and qRT-PCR(Quantitative real time-polymerase chain reaction)analyses revealed diverse expression profiles of the GhGASA genes in different organs under abiotic stresses,indicating that some GhGASA genes possibly participate in fiber development and abiotic-stress responses.Conclusions:The GASA genes in cotton were systematically identified and analyzed for the first time in this paper,and it suggested that the GASA genes are important to the development and growth of cotton.These results will support future exploration of the functions of GASA genes in cotton.QIAO Kaikai MA Changkai LV Jiaoyan ZHANG Chaojun MA Qifeng FAN Shuli 2021Journal of Cotton Research2021,4,1:0
14Tribological and mechanical behaviours of resin-based friction materials based on microcrack filling显示文摘To enhance the friction performance of resin-based friction materials,five types of specimens with different polymer ether ketone(PEEK)contents were fabricated and their physiomechanical behaviours were tested and,their tribological properties were investigated using a JF150F-II constant-speed tester.It was found that the addition of PEEK had a positive influence on the properties of the friction materials,and sample FM-3(the shorthand of‘Friction Materials-3’,containing 2 wt%PEEK)exhibited improved friction performance with a fade ratio and recovery ratio of 8.6%and 101.1%respectively.Among all samples,FM-4(the shorthand of‘Friction Materials-4’,con-taining 3 wt%PEEK)had the lowest specific wear rate with a value of 0.622×10^(−7)cm^(3)(N⋅m)^(−1)at 350℃.The PEEK can fill the microcracks in the composite at a high tem-perature and can also cover the hard abrasive particles to prevent them from directly damaging the composite.The findings from this study afford a foundation for studies to further improve the properties of resin-based friction materials.Lekai Li Guixiong Gao Jin Tong Jian Zhuang Wei Song Yunhai Ma Guoqin Liu Feipeng Cao Shengwang Yuan Qifeng Zhang 2023Biosurface and Biotribology2023,9,1:0
15Line X Tester Analysis of Estimating Heterosis and Combining Ability in F_1 Generation of Sunflower显示文摘The present research was conducted in Line X tester analysis for estimating combining ability and heterotic effects,restorers malesterile(CMS) crossed with seven tester lines 3x7 21 F_1 hybrids of sunflower were further used to estimate their general combining ability(GCS),specific combining ability(SCA) and heterosis effects on main traits of sunflower during 2009.For this study,seven lines of sunflower were tested with three testers 7x3 of sunflower to obtain twenty one F_1 genotypes from Line X tester mating design.It was concluded from present study that among the lines,0505 Cms-6,Peshawer-93 Cms-11,Peshawar-93 Cms-12 were the best general combiners to play the vital role in flowering,maturity,plant height,head diameter,seed index,grain per head and 100-grain yield per plant.While RHP-53,RHP-42,RHP-46 were also the best combiners for all the traits.However,hybrid 54CMS-1 x RHP-42 showed best specific combiners,while Peshawer-93 exhibited good specific combiners for grain yield per plant,the hybrids,plant height,head diameter,seed index,grain per head and grain yield per plant,respectively.Significant differences among the tested sunflower genotypes with regard to mean values of all the investigated traits were determined.The analysis of variance of combining abilities and the analysis of genetic variance components confirmed the non-additive component.Ameer Hussain Jarwar Xiaoyan WANG Long WANG Qifeng MA Shuli FAN 2017Asian Agricultural Research2017,9,8:0
