| 1 | Antioxidant therapy in acute,chronic and post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis:An updated systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To investigate the efficacy and adverse effects of antioxidant therapy in acute pancreatitis(AP),chronic pancreatitis(CP) and post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis(PEP).METHODS:Pub Med,Scopus,Google Scholar,Cochrane library database,and Evidence-based medicine/clinical trials published before August 2014 were searched. Clinical and laboratory outcomes of randomized trials of antioxidant therapy in patients with AP,CP and PEP were included. The methodological quality of the trials was assessed by the Jadad score based on the description of randomization,blinding,and dropouts(withdrawals). The results of the studies were pooled and meta-analyzed to provide estimates of the efficacy of antioxidant therapy.RESULTS:Thirty four trials out of 1069 potentially relevant studies with data for 4898 patients wereeligible for inclusion. Antioxidant therapy significantly reduced the length of hospital stay in AP patients {mean difference-2.59 d(95%CI:-4.25-(-0.93)],P = 0.002}. Although,antioxidant therapy had no significant effect on serum C reactive protein(CRP) after 5-7 d in AP patients [mean difference-9.57(95%CI:-40.61-21.48,P = 0.55],it significantly reduced serum CRP after 10 d {mean difference-45.16 [95%CI:-89.99-(-0.33)],P = 0.048}. In addition,antioxidant therapy had no significant effect on CP-induced pain [mean difference-2.13(95%CI:-5.87-1.6),P = 0.26]. Antioxidant therapy had no significant effects on the incidence of all types of PEP [mean difference 1.05(95%CI:0.74-1.5),P = 0.78],severe PEP [mean difference 0.92(95%CI:0.43-1.97),P = 0.83],moderate PEP [mean difference 0.82(95%CI:0.54-1.23),P = 0.33],and mild PEP [mean difference 1.33(95%CI:0.99-1.78),P = 0.06]. | 4 | Parametric study on smoothed particle hydrodynamics for accurate determination of drag coefficient for a circular cylinder显示文摘Simulations of two-dimensional(2D) flow past a circular cylinder with the smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH) method were conducted in order to accurately determine the drag coefficient. The fluid was modeled as a viscous liquid with weak compressibility. Boundary conditions,such as a no-slip solid wall, inflow and outflow, and periodic boundaries, were employed to resemble the physical problem. A sensitivity analysis, which has been rarely addressed in previous studies, was conducted on several SPH parameters. Hence, the effects of distinct parameters, such as the kernel choices and the domain dimensions, were investigated with the goal of obtaining highly accurate results. A range of Reynolds numbers(1-500) was simulated, and the results were compared with existing experimental data. It was observed that the domain dimensions and the resolution of SPH particles, in comparison to the obstacle size, affected the obtained drag coefficient significantly. | 5 | Soil-Structure Interaction Analysis of Jack-up Platforms Subjected to Monochrome and Irregular Waves显示文摘As jack-up platforms have recently been used in deeper and harsher waters,there has been an increasing demand to understand their behaviour more accurately to develop more sophisticated analysis techniques.One of the areas of significant development has been the modelling of spudcan performance,where the load-displacement behaviour of the foundation is required to be included in any numerical model of the structure.In this study,beam on nonlinear winkler foundation(BNWF) modeling—which is based on using nonlinear springs and dampers instead of a continuum soil media—is employed for this purpose.A regular monochrome design wave and an irregular wave representing a design sea state are applied to the platform as lateral loading.By using the BNWF model and assuming a granular soil under spudcans,properties such as soil nonlinear behaviour near the structure,contact phenomena at the interface of soil and spudcan(such as uplifting and rocking),and geometrical nonlinear behaviour of the structure are studied.Results of this study show that inelastic behaviour of the soil causes an increase in the lateral displacement at the hull elevation and permanent unequal settlement in soil below the spudcans,which are increased by decreasing the friction angle of the sandy soil.In fact,spudcans and the underlying soil cause a relative fixity at the platform support,which changes the dynamic response of the structure compared with the case where the structure is assumed to have a fixed support or pinned support.For simulating this behaviour without explicit modelling of soil-structure interaction(SSI),momentrotation curves at the end of platform legs,which are dependent on foundation dimensions and soil characteristics,are obtained.These curves can be used in a simplified model of the platform for considering the relative fixity at the soilfoundation interface. | Maziar Gholami KORZANI Ali Akbar AGHAKOUCHAK | 2015 | China Ocean Engineering2015,29,1: | 2 |
